HP Laserjet CP1518ni - want to use wireless

Good afternoon! I got the HP Laserjet CP 1518ni for several years and have only used connected to a Dell desktop computer in all the time I got it.  I now have a laptop of Dell to the additional address and I want to allow all computers, iphones, and ipads in my house to print wireless to the printer CP 1518.  Both computers running Windows 7. I also have an Ipad 4th Gen and my husband and I each have an Iphone 4.

I tried to 'share' the printer via the office, it is difficult to wire connected to, but who has never worked for me. Do I have to unplug the printer from the desktop and connect directly to the modem/router (that's a combination modem and router in one)?  We have a router/modem Motorola from Verizon Fios.

Thank you for your help.

Hello

This document is about the principles, the root of many cases.

Hope it makes sense.

You must have the wireless router if you want both a wireless connection. The printer has no built-in wireless so you need to connect to the router wireless using a LAN cable. And before you can do this, you must set up your own network first. You must call your router or your ISP factory to set up your own network of wireless configuration.

For more information on the configuration of the printer on the network, you can find this useful link.

  • HP LaserJet CP1518ni - wireless installation, will now in offline mode after reboot

I just install my printer wireless via my router and everything was fine - test pages, etc. I rebooted and after reboot, I can't use the printer.  It is "offline." Turn everything off and then does not solve the problem.  The printer is a Laserjet CP1518ni.  It is connected to my router and two computers use wireless. Don't know what to do. Help! Why is it keeps working after the first reboot?

You can run printing HP and doctor Scan, and it can help with this problem.

It can also be a firewall or an antivirus which blocks. You can turn it off and try to print.

What type of modem do you have?

Do you hear an old style phone modem or a cable modem?

If you have a cable modem and it is not wireless, then you'll need to buy a modem wireless also has four LAN ports. Connect the WAN port on the router to the modem that provides your internet connection and then configure the SSID of the router and the wireless PC network card.  The easiest to install and configure is brands like Linksys and Netgear. Your PC with a built-in B/G wireless network adapter. Purchase of a high-tech Wireless-N Dual band Router router would be too much serious.

Windpws Mail & Wi - Fi

I just installed a TalkTalk wireless router which seems to have installed correctly. However when I try to send and receive e-mail using Windows Mail, she wants to use a made up connection. How can I use the wireless connection? Thank you very much, Dianthus MJ.

Go to tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Connection and check or change the connection properties.  You will need to remove the account and then add it again, but try first and also check tools | Options | Connections.

  • Can I solve the problems of alignment is to have my Color LaserJet CP1518ni? Red will not line up.

Can I solve the problems of alignment is to have my Color LaserJet CP1518ni?  Red do not line up, I installed the latest updates, etc.  Calibration does not help.  The printer is only a few years old.  What gives?

Hi threre, I just work on HP CP1518ni a client with this same alignment problem as most of you are describing. I went through some process and I think I found one that works... If all goes well it will work for

    You too.

Things I tried before hand... also this machine has all the toners brand HP 90 + life on each of them.

-Calibrate - has not fixed the problem (tried once)

-reset the NVRAM - did not problem

-removed and inspected print cartrides (no problem found), re-installed - fixed no problem

    The 'fix '...

First, go to the HP website and download the firmware, make sure you only select the right operating system

you are using. (for me it was Windows XP) Also the requirements of course read, I think you have to

have with XP SP2 if it perhaps questions, always read the instructions before doing the firmware.

Here is a quick link to the CP1518ni...

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=3422472 & LC = on & CC = US & DLC = in & lang = to & CC = US

Then, assuming you have the appropriate printer driver installed, double-click the utility you just downloaded and select the CP1518ni from the drop-down list. Now, press the button 'send the firmware '. It will be

Take a few minutes so just let it do its thing. After that she did try to print something, for me it was NOT fixed.

Now you want to calibrate the device, maybe 2 or 3 times, on the control panel scroll to the right until

you see "systemsetup" press ok and scroll to the right again until you see 'print quality' and press ok.

the first item in this menu is press "calibrate color" ok, now he's going to say 'calibrate now' and press ok one

last time. It will start the calibration process. Then he did print something new to see how he does.

for me I had to do the calibration process twice before the quality was normal again.

Good luck, hope this helps some, I read that some printers still presist even after this process.

  • LaserJet M1212nf: Problems setting up wireless printing

I can set up to print from my laptop with a USB connection to the printer. I want to be able to print when away from my office, so have tried for 2 years, on and off, to get my printer to print wireless. I spent probably 10 + hours trying to get this set up. In the end, I always end up having to reinstall the printer with the same old USB connection.

It drives me crazy. I'm a tech writer for a society of software and very savvy in computer science. However, my non-techie family have all managed to set up wireless printing at their home in 5 minutes or less with different brands of printers.

Here are the steps that I followed, although I also tried many variations, like trying with my USB cable connected or disconnected.

    (1) uninstall the current installation of the printer (USB).

    (2) on the printer itself, make sure that the settings > network settings are the default values.

    (3) using the latest drivers and installation .exe from the HP site, start a new installation of the printer.

    (4) when you are prompted, select "wireless."

RESULT: even if my firewall is turned OFF, search and indicates that he is there any printer on the network. (Huh? Which network?)

    (5) try again once and this time select "Network Setup."

RESULT: even if my firewall is turned OFF, search and says that it cannot detect a network.

If the wireless installation requires a network, but network installation does not cause a network to install, I don't know where to go from here.

    (6) I also tried downloading and installing the ePrint utility, but when I'm at halfway through the installation, it tells me that it cannot find my printer.

I am suspicious that my model M1212nf MFP may even not allow for wireless printing. Some info on the HP site says to check a particular button lights up to indicate that the printer is online. This light does not exist on my printer model. However, the parameters of the printer from my physics has parameters such as: "show IP address," etc., which would lead me to believe that it can work wireless.

I have read all the help related HP printer, and there is nothing which explains, in simple language, what are the types of cables, I need to set up a network and the Wi - Fi connection, when to plug them in, what facilities to perform on the many Add - ons available, etc.. I don't know that it's a 5 minute process if there was just a good explanation in the help of the UP of how do. Assistance would be appreciated!

    Hello @SKYdiz,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you have had problems for the last 2 years and spent many hours trying to configure your HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf MFP for wireless printing. At this point I'll provide more information about it. First of all, are sitting you?

Unfortunately, the HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf multifunction printer isn't a model wireless printer. The "nf" at the end of the name of the printer is the abbreviation of 'network, fax. Therefore, if your printer is not able to connect to your router wireless, it CAN connect with an ethernet cable.

All you need to do is connect an ethernet cable to the back of your printer to your router. That all devices connected to this router even (whether through wireless or wired ethernet connections) would be able to 'see' your printer on the network and print it on your printer. For more information on configuring ethernet on your printer, please visit: Setup the printer to a wired network in Windows 7 for HP's LaserJet printers.

Now, if an ethernet connection does not work in your specific network, HP makes other Laserjet models that do not use the wireless function. Here are two LaserJet who are black only, multifunction wireless units that resemble your current printer model: HP LaserJet MFP HP LaserJet MFP M225dw Pro and M127fw Pro.

Please let me know if this clears up any confusion. If you have other questions or concerns, I'll be more than happy to help you. Happy new year!

  • To use wireless on my Satellite A40

    Hello

I have a Toshiba SA40-221, and I want to use to surf the internet by wireles system.
I cann't find how. Can you help me?
    Thank you
    Amélie

    Hi, Amélie

WLan USB stick is a better way to prepare your WiFi device.
You must check the properties of the WLan router to see what type of wireless local area network that you use.
Then you can buy the right WLan USB stick for the right standard WLan.

  • Satellite P10-133: I want to use the WLAN

    Hello

What should I do when I want to use the WLAN with the satellite P10 133?

    Thanx

    Hello

First that you check if your laptop has been equipped by the wireless network adapter.
If this isn't the case, then you need to update.
The easiest way would be a use of the WLan USB key.

Check your WLan router level. There are different WiFi standards such as 802.11 A, B, G and N
If your WLan router supports 802.11 B and G, then you should buy and stick that would support both standards too!

Then configure the WiFi network (especially it s described in the installation instructions provided with WLan stick) and the WLan router.

  • TC using wireless as a backup only

I am using a Comcast gateway modem/router in my office working with a PC and you want to use my TC in another room with my iMac via wifi. I plugged the TC to the router and it works fine.  If I plug the iMac in the other room, he flashes yellow.  I have the network turned off the coast and it is in bridge mode.  Press the upper left set on wifi and I get the error message that the device is not recognized and it is not like a connected device.  If I set it to Ethernet with the wireless off, I get an error message cannot find the DNS server.  Can anyone help?  Thank you.

If you see the Guide installation provided with your Time Capsule, they will confirm the needs of Time Capsule for you to connect your modem/router to Comcast with a permanent, wired Ethernet cable. It's because the Capsule is a network ... drive which needs to connect to your router .

Once you have set up time Capsule, you can back up your Mac via Network Time Capsule wireless.

If you try to connect to the time Capsule to your Mac... which would make a local drive... a task that the Time Capsule was not designed to perform.

  • Re: Satellite L300-1BV: I want to use Draft N - how to disable Wlan in BIOS

I think trying a new network adapter, which has the N Protocol.

But I was told its best to disable the network adapter in the BIOS first realtek wireless and not Device Manager as I thought.

So basically what the correct way to do it in the BIOS instead of me in there without real knowledge of where to look.

    Any advice on this...

    (windows vista Home premium)

    Hello

I put t think the BIOS contains such option, that could allows you to disable the internal WLan function.

If you want to use Draft N (802.11 N) using an external adapter (WLan USB stick), then I don't see any other solution to disable the wireless card in Device Manager.

But to be honest I do not know if disabling the internal WLan card is required m
I expect that you would not need to disable the internal WiFi network in order to get the other treatments of the WLan card.

  • How to use wireless for my TECRA S1

I have a TECRA S1 and you want to use the wireless function to get on Internet, I already have two pc is connected to my wireless network how can I get my laptop on the network now.

    Thank you

    Hello

-check if your laptop has a WIRELESS card with onboard (Manager of devices under network adapters or WiFi label on the low side)
-If yes turn it on using wireless switch antenna ON / OFF in the front near the headphone jack
-When the control led is CHECK if the WIFI is enabled by using the FN + F8 key combination
-Depending on your local settings WLAN connectivity must be configured properly (TCP/IP)
-You can use the Windows settings for WLAN configuration (you can find it under the "networks" tab a wireless WLAN properties)
-refresh the available networks and if your LAN is displayed there you can add it as a favorite and configure (encryption)

    All that s!

  • Satellite A100-998: I want to use the Wlan - what do I need?

    Can you help me?
I want to go wireless on the hoof.
    What do I need?
I said I need some sort of plugin card with a sim card?
    Help, please.

    Thank you.

    Hi Michael

It seems that you are really a beginner. Am I wrong?
Laptop you seems to be a new-generation aircraft and in my opinion it should be already delivered with the internal wireless card.
If you are not sure if you unit has inside wireless network card you can check this in the device under network adapters Manager.

The wireless network card must be activated with the switch on the side of the laptop and with the FN + F8 key combination.
In addition, the access point or router WLan is necessary to use wireless networks.

Wireless technology is a long story. I recommend google a bit for more details.
If you have trouble with the connection that you could post again.

    Good bye
