HP LaserJet: HP printer escape characters

Hello:

When I bought my first printer laserjet about 20 years ago, I created a number of files that have left me, that contain HP printer escape characters.

Are always compatible with an HP MFP M225dw?

How can I make them visible in MS Word 2010?

Thanks in advance for any help.

FRED

Still widely used HP PJL PCL printers and it is backwards compatible with older versions.

So as long as you have a printer with processors, it will probably take these codes.

  • LaserJet P1505n printer: How can I change the host name to NPI1BDC68 to meaninful something more?

My network, a HP LaserJet P1505n printer, host name is set to NPI1BDC68. Is this cable or is there a way for me to change? Trying to solve: manuals were reviewed, Forum questions were searched, google General search conducted. I am running Win XP and a Mac Pro with OS X 10.6.8.

Well, which took me 10 minutes to solve.  I found the answer on a HP site based in France. (I kinda changed my google query and tried again.)  The site asks on first access, if you wish to continue in English, thankfully.  http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01175001

In short, use Internet Explorer or Safari, go to the IP address of your network printer.  For Win XP users, you can determine the IP address using, start/printers and faxes /(select printer)/properties/ports tab / select new/Configure button/second field printer port to down the IP address shown.

Once connected to the network printer subsystem, select the Networking tab.  The host name is the first field which can be changed. Enter a new name from 1 to 15 characters.  Tip: He doesn't like spaces. Underscores work well and the new name can be mixed case. Press the button apply at the bottom of the screen when done.  Warning appears that access to the printer may need to be changed if the IP address has been changed.  Acknowledge the warning. Printer goes offline for a few seconds. The page automatically refreshes and the new host name can be confirmed by inspection.

Had the printer listed above for several years and love it.  Have just started having problems with the printer does not print not not in color.  Have a recorded document that needs to be printed every month and have had no problems with it, until yesterday when it is printed in black only.  Another document word also printed in black only.  I printed a test page printed correctly.

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

To answer your question, YES, it is compatible with Win10 - but you must use the HP software and drivers, not the one that is provided by Microsoft.

Here are the drivers and the software for your printer page: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-LaserJet-1020-Printer-series/439423/model/3329726

You must download and install full feature software and drivers for the printer.

Remove all the drivers and software that Microsoft install for the printer.

Then unplug the printer and install the software.

Do reconnect the printer until the installation program invited to do so.

Once the installation is complete, restart.

You should then be able to use your printer in Win10.

    Good luck

  • HP laserjet 2200dn printer range: Hp laserjet 2200dn driver and software

I just want to find a software and driver for laserjet 2200dn printer

    question:

the printer does not support windows 8.1, I want to know how it works?

My Windows 8.1 Professional 64-bit system has built-in support for the LaserJet 2200 model:

You may need to click the Windows Update button in the Add Printer dialog, then wait (possibly several minutes) while additional drivers are downloaded, until the list is filled again.

I found the name of the printer in the list of drivers, but then I try to add a new printer with this driver, the pop-up error message and the installation is not complete.

My question is: the HP Color Laserjet Pro printer M252N are not compatible with Win XP Embedded Std?

Please help, even the HP sales technician unable to answer me to this questation.

    Hello

The HP Color Laserjet Pro M252N Featuer software complete is not supported on Windows XP, however you can get the features of the printer using HP PCL 6 Universal Print Driver listed on page 9 of the User Guide, be aware that the Service Pack 3 must be installed on the operating system to use the printer:

Make a right click my computer and select Properties - locate Service Pack 3 in this form... If Service Pack 3 is not the operating system MUST be updated first:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c04475955

You can download the HP Universal Print Driver below:

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL39348/LJ-95977-14/UPD-PCL6-x32-6.2.1.20636.exe

As Windows Embedded edition is an edition of the customized version no official support is guaranteed.

It is a customized operating system version includes only the components of the operating system selected for specific needs.

Those selected by the OEM computer and not necessarily include any component required by the HP software or hardware.

Try to install the printer and see if this can work, however it can work as explained and may not only the manufacturer of the computer can respond if such material can be installed on the operating system or not...

    Kind regards

    Shlomi

  • HP LaserJet 1020 printer: Download the drivers for the HP LaserJet 1020 printer

I would use my HP LaserJet printer, who worked previously with Windows 98SE with my HP/Compaq laptop which runs on Windows 8.1 (x 64). My HP/Compaq laptop is not connected to the Internet. • The laser color HP LaserJet CP1025nw printer cannot print - points held in the queue

I am running Windows 7 64 bit and my laser color HP LaserJet CP1025nw printer fails to print jobs in the queue. I turned off the printer accidentally as he was preparing to print a document, and since then I am unable to get the printer to work. I used the HP print and Scan doctor and he said that he had detected and solved a problem with the queue in vain the printer print a test page. What other options do I have? Thank you.

Rrolley, looks like you have a problem with the print queue of the printer. To start, just to tell you (that you probably think) it is not good to switch off while he's getting a print request. To resolve this problem, I recommend that you turn off the printer and the computer completely and cut the power for about thirty seconds. Then power the two machines back on, and when they started well then try the print job.

Let me know how it goes and I'll get right back with you!
  • Windows Update 8.1 - now my LaserJet P1005 printer will not work (AGAIN!)

I have a HP laserjet P1005 printer, whose yeaterday was work happliy in window 8. I downloaded 8.1 last night and the printer no longer works!

With the window of printer status open (through the control panal windows) the details of the document are displayed briefly when you click on the button print. Nothing happens at the end of the printer. Theres nothing wrong with the printer as I can use it on a laptop without problem.

Driver Hp downloads link it "seem" a driver for the 8.1 but I think it's only version 8.0 wrongly labeled.

I am sick to death with HP. It took them more than 1 year to untangle a driver for Windows 8, and it blocks as soon as Microsoft tweek their BONES.

Does anyone have any ideas how this can be solved? HP seem to be abandoned as a fundamental value customer - I have not buy one of their products again.

Hi again - finally got it works!

I downloaded the software from the link... again. Still no joy

Remove the printer from the computer devices. Then downloaded the link... again. The computer had the printer appears as a device.

    Then...

    I started again from scratch:

Reinstalled the 'original' driver from the boot disk. (the driver from the link above must have still been present).

    Printer on stream.

    Very happy.

  • When you try to install the HP Laserjet 1300 printer error there is a problem installing this hardware.

Original title: HP Laserjet 1300 Windows XP, SP3 error installation

When you try to install the HP Laserjet 1300 printer, I get the following error message and the process stops and restores.

    CANNOT INSTALL THIS HARDWARE

There was a problem installing this hardware

    HP Laserjet 1300 PCL 6

An error occurred during the installation of the device.

The specified Module could not be found.

I have used the original printer installation cd, bought a new cd from HP and downloaded the drivers directly from the HP Web site and I get the same error.  The record show error install printer on each attempt of events. Can anyone help?  Thank you

    Hello

You are able to install other programs?

Method 1: See the following article:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?DocName=c02073861&LC=en&cc=us&product=3795406

Method 2: view the following steps and see if that helps.

    (a) disconnect the printer

    (b) uninstall the software and drivers on the computer

    (c) plug the printer back

    (d) allow the Hardware Wizard search for drivers

    e) if it does not, it asks you to install the source for the drivers, the installation driver CD and install the drivers and see if that helps.

  • HP Color Laserjet 4700n printer series

Hi, I am trying to install printing wireless on my HP Color Laserjet 4700n printer in my office with three different computers. However, I have trouble finding how to do this on every computer in the office. I would be grateful if someone could help me with this or even tell me if wireless printing is possible with this series. Thank you.

According to the data sheet for the Laserjet 4700n printer range, this printer has only these methods of connectivity. Unfortunately, wireless printing is not mentioned.

    LaserJet 4700n connection methods:

    • Improved the card slots of input/output (EIO) for connectivity option. (Network connection using an embedded HP Jetdirect print server is standard on HP Color LaserJet 4700n, HP Color LaserJet 4700dn, HP Color LaserJet 4700dtn and HP Color LaserJet 4700ph + printer.)
  • Apparently, I got an automatic update of Windows XP. All of a sudden my computer does not connect to my HP Laserjet 1000 printer.

All of a sudden my computer does not connect to my HP Laserjet 1000 printer. These work very well together for several years.

Now all of a sudden I get a message that the computer cable is not connected.  I tried to charge the printer program.

I unplugged and reconnect the cable to the computer, etc.. The system does not work.

I learn by two other people, who have automatic updates of Windows, they had the same problem. We have a Kodak

printer and the other has a Lexmark printer. This makes me think that the problem is in the updates of Windows.

So, what should I do to fix this? I'm NOT a computer person and I'm confused.

    James

  • Cannot get LaserJet M175nw print in a network

I just installed a new 100 Pro M175nw LaserJet printer on my network. However, I am unable to print over the network.

    • The printer is connected to an ethernet cable and configured with a static IP address on the network
    • I use a Windows 7 computer for printing
    • All of the internal functions of the printer work properly for example copy, reports
    • Printers when connected via USB to a computer

When you use the printer over the network:

    • Digitization of works correctly
    • The integrated mangement of the printer web page works correctly
    • HP Print & Scan Doctor diagnostic tests give the configuration all green ticks
    • Print jobs stay in the queue until they change to an error state.
    • The printer does not recognize the print job at all - no progress message indicating the print on the console document
    • If the printer is in mode 'sleep' it doesn't wake up
    • Print test pages from the installer of HP, the Windows printer properties dialog box, Acrobat Reader and MS Word all fail.
    • All the symptoms remain the same when I turn off the Windows Firewall
    • An another HP LaserJet 2605dn printer on the network will print correctly on a different IP address, but also using the raw format on port 9100.
    • I removed all the drivers for other HP printers in case there was a conflict - no change after you have reinstalled the software.

Can anyone suggest what I might have forgotten?  Thanks for your help.

    Problem solved.

    Critical steps seem to be:

    • I used the printer management web page (Networking / advanced) to "restore all network settings to their factory default values.
    • I then used the printer console to set the desired TCP/IP configuration - static IP, subnet mask, default gateway. No other changes.
    • The printer then worked correctly.
    • Later, I put the hostname and disabled all network services that I did not - like IPv6, Hello - and the printer continued to work properly.

The configuration of end result is identical to what I had until I can see - but it works now.

Thanks for your suggestions along the way.
