The Setup program ends in a few moments with no error message, but I don't have desktop shortcut icons.   CoolSense requires .NET Framework 3.5, which can be present on a new installation of Windows 10 - you can check it as follows.

  Hold down the Windows key and press R.

  In the run box, type appwiz.cpl , and then press ENTER.

  In the left pane, select "Windows turn features on or off" and let the list populate.

  If .NET Framework 3.5 (included .NET 2.0 and 3.0) is not selected, add a check mark, and then click Ok.

  Once installation is complete, restart the computer, let Windows take over completely for a few minutes, and then try to re-run the installer to CoolSense.

  As far as HP 3D DriveGuard is concerned, you could try the following.

  Hold down the Windows key and press R.

  In the run box, type appwiz.cpl , and then press ENTER.

  Make a right click the entry for HP 3D DriveGuard and choose uninstall.

  Once complete, download and reinstall the Chipset driver below.

  When this has completed, restart the laptop.

  When windows has reloaded, download and install the version of HP 3D DriveGuard on the following link.
