  You need to remove the 1 GB chip you have in there now and replace with a 2 GB chip.

  You want to get a memory module 2 GB PC2-5300 (667 MHz) for optimal performance.

  It seems that the hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. Of course, it is possible that he has lost all simply a secure connection if the Mini is transported/rushed. Remove the Panel covering the hdd and check it - unplug, plug back in.

• Problem updating Mini 110-3500 2 GB RAM

  A few days ago, I bought a HP Mini 110-3500 netbook (more precisely a 110-3538TU / LD928PA) and separately, I bought an upgrade to 2 gigabytes of RAM to another bank. So far I had been focused on the problems of screen resolution but tonight, I finally installed the RAM, but the machine could not be started.   Hello, I have a HP Mini 110-4250nr PC, bought in the summer 2012.  It is running really slow and frustrating.   It takes up to 30 seconds to do something simple, like open Internet Explorer or any type of file.  Documents can take up to a minute.

  I still have the Windows 7 starter is it came with.  I use it mainly for writing.  I have Microsoft Office on it and while running Word 2013 there is a lag, the screen is not follow my typing speed.

  If I update to windows 8 performances will improve?  I don't want to drop money on the upgrade to get the same result.

  A hardware upgrade will be necessary?

  There is no upgrade to 64-bit from 32-bit Windows, you must do a clean install. And Yes, 4 gigs only makes sense with 64-bit Windows. You can put the DDR2-800 in there, but it will operate at speed 667 mhz. Don't bother with 64 bit Vista GB Windows 7, is said by the way.
