HP Office Jet 3830: Printer not connected

I just installed this new printer, followed all the instructions in the manual and website, downloaded the latest update.

Checked everything with the Setup Wizard, and he says that everything is ok.

YET, when I try to print anything, it indicates that the "the printer is not connected"...

I restarted my computer and also to restart the printer. Nothing has changed...

I need to help and suggestions to solve this problem.

I understand that your Macintosh OSX 10.11 computer detects a printer all-in-one Officejet 3830. I can help you with that.

First of all, let's see if the problem can be related network or Mac related. To do:

Turn the printer off for a minute.

While the printer is off, remove the power cord at the back of the router for a minute.

When the lights came on your router on the printer.

Now, let's see what the printer think, that is the question. Click on the wireless icon that looks like a radio tower in the Middle at the bottom of the screen.

The next step depends on the IP address on the printer display.

  • If the IP address starts with 169.254, then the printer does not receive a valid IP address. Click the gear icon and select Wireless Setup Assistant to connect again. If the IP continues first 169.254 then the next step is to contact your internet provider because you have a device that will not receive a valid IP address of the router. If this is the case, then I would suggest calling a device and not a printer. If you say printer they say talk to HP and want to terminate the call.
  • If the IP address starts with 172 the printer is connected to a network of comments. Contact the company that you provided with the router for assistance with deactivation of the feedback network.
  • If the IP address begins with 192.168 or 10 then the printer IP address is fine. The next step would be to determine the issue on the Mac.
  • If the IP address begins with any other number then the network has somewhat changed. I would contact who is now the network for assistance.

Assuming that the IP starts with 192.168 or 10 the next step would be to reset your printing system. To do:

On the Mac, click the Apple icon, system preferences and printers and Scanners.

Hold down the command key and click the picture of the printer on the left side of the screen.

Click on reset printing system.

Click on the button "+" in the lower left corner of the screen.

Select your printer from the list.

Click on the box to use and select your printer from the list.

Click on Add.

If your printer was not in the previous window, it means that there is a setting on the network that prevents the Mac and a printer to communicate. I communicate with the one that is provided with the router and ask them to open all Ports, enable multicast, MAC disable the filtering/MAC cloning and make sure that the router broadcasts a band of 2.4 GHz (gigahertz).

At this point, you should be able to print. If you are not able to print then please let me know what happened by following these instructions.

    Set your printing preferences / Print Preview to include

    • Media type 'Index Card letter'
    • Paper size: letter

    If includes it the list of media type, you can also try 'Matte of the Brochure' (wording varies)

    Brand new Office Jet 3830 installed as wireless today. Installation OK. Problem is that the printer does not print half superior to most of the lines of print. This problem up and down the page. Used tools to align printer (3 times), cleaning cartridge, smear own page, report print quality and all printer is OK. Any ideas on how to solve the problem would be appreciated.

    Thank you for taking the time to look at my problem. I discovered that the printer is configured to print a 'project' and when I changed 'black and white' usually the problem disappeared. But I'll keep your handy proposed remedies where the problem occurs in the future.

    Have you tried to perform a full power cycle on the system and try the analysis immediately after that everything is turned on?

    • Unplug the router all-in-on
    • Wait 30 seconds
    • Plug the router back in power and wait until it completely initialize
    • Restart the PC
    • Unplug the printer while on
    • Wait 30 seconds
    • Plug the printer back in direct power

    So, have you tried to disable your firewall and protection scan from the front panel of the printer?  Sometimes a firewall service will see the printer as a threat and block incoming traffic.  However, based on the analysis of gets it PC around as she reaches out to the device, rather than the reverse.

    The Acer A700 is an Android Tablet and doesn't use Windows drivers (or Apple) to print to a wireless printer...

    You must download and install the HP ePrint app from the game store to get access.

    Windows 7 Professional Dell computer. HP Office jet 5510 printer all-in-one. Just had to plug in printer for it to work because the drivers are automated by Dell and HP.

    Printer does everything but images printing color. Pics. out in black and white. I think I tried everything. This has happened since the new computer.

    Nothing to do with the printer that used to be useful on the old computer is left as the amount of ink etc. I printed everything in color. It's just the pictures.

    Method 1.

  • HP Office Jet 8620: Do not print sleep mode

    If I have not used my printer for a while, it goes into mode "Eve".  When working on the computer and try to print something, I always get the message offline printer.  I usually have to restart the printer and then the page will print.  It is a common problem or is there a solution for this.  According to HP and win 10, I have the latest drivers and software available.

    Anyone else having these issues?

    I get an error that says I need to add the document to the printer.  The printer is full of paper.  I deleted the printer and re-installed, I closed the printer down several times, I rebooted several times.  I can put a paper on pc and press copy and it will copy in order to not mistake here for an out of paper issue.     I install a HP Office Jet Pro 8600 on a wireless connection to my Mac (latest version of office).  I installed the printer and sometimes can't get the Mac to recognize the printer.  Intermittently, when the printer prints first it hangs on the first 1 percent of employment, then after a while, it prints the page.  The next few pages print ok, but when I go to print the printer is "not connected" again, the wireles light is blue fixed on the printer. If I disconnect the power to the wireless D-Link device, wait one minute then plug back power after a period of time that the printer could appear as connected again. My iPad works fine on the wireless network connection.  All Mac Book my wife does not recognize the printer on the wireless network.  I noticed that the ipv4 addresses are slightly different peripheral oneach, my Mac, thePrinter, my wife Mac Book.  The dfference is the last digit of the ipv4 address.  Previously, I bought a printer that has had the same problem with wireless unti l configuration took everything to the Mac for my 'One on One' store Lemark and a partner that does the job with a magic switch to apple.  The Lexmark printer is now in the Trash because he's stuck with paper so frequently that it opened, before ink cartridges (minimal) have even used, but it is another story.  On two printer, on the point of post appointment. Help, please.

    IP addresses are supposed to be different, it's how the devices are identified by the router.

    D-link routers can have trouble with HP printers.  Make sure that the firmware is updated on your router.

    Finally, we will set an IP address of the printer:

    -Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
    -Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
    -Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
    -On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). Yours is 192.168.0.100 a.199.  We will use 192.168.0.220 for your printer.
    -Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
    -Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
    -Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS.
    -Click 'apply '.

    Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

    We will restore the print system:

    -Go to System Preferences > print & Scan
    -Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
    WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
    -Select the sign more to add a printer. Select the default tab on the top of the window. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.
