HP Officejet 6500 a Plus won't copy. It allows to print and scan but copies are empty. Windows XP

I have a HP Officejet 6500 has more.  It allows to print and scan but the copies are to come in white.

Hey, here's a link for y our question, it says empty and white scans copies, but it breaks down in their own separate headings, here is the link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03111687

If that does not help the problem, a sequel to the above listed link I would do a hard rest is: while the printer is on, pull on the power cord to the printer and the wall. After 30 seconds reconnect power to the wall and printer. This will trigger a 'dirty power upwards' and restoring the printer to a State well known (if possible). No user settings are lost with a "hard reset." I'm pulling directly the instructions for this process of a hardware instruction guide. I'm sticking to it would have shown here Word for Word. I hope this helps

Real bummer, but today I tried to scan and got an error "Scanner communication cannot be established... "I've uninstalled all the drivers and the printer and reinstalled same thing any suggestions I have to be able to scan.

    Hey alsmith1964,

It seems that the network communication between the PC and the printer has become lost or locked up.  The first step, I would suggest in this case is to perform a cycle of power to all devices in the network circuit.

Follow these steps to reset your printer HP, your router and your computer.

    1. To turn it off, press the power button on the HP printer.
    2. Unplug the power cord at the back of the HP printer.
    3. Unplug the power cord from the wireless router.
    4. Turn off the computer.
    5. Wait 30 seconds.
    6. Reconnect the power cable to the wireless router.
    7. Wait 30 seconds, or until the router is completely ready.
    8. Turn the computer on.
    9. Wait for the computer to recharge.
    10. Reconnect the power cord to the back of the HP printer.
    11. Turn on the printer.

I would like to know if it is able to get the question to be resolved,

  • HP 6500 a Plus: HP 6500 has more won't copy

This old all-in-one device has served reliably for many years until today.  It prints and scans but won't copy glass.  I unplugged the wall for 30 seconds and then tried a second time with the same results.  Help!

    Hi @nsbguy,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you have problems of the flat bed scanner glass copy on your printer HP Officejet 6500 has more. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I understand that this printer has been very reliable for you, which is nice to hear. I see that you are able to print and scan, but they are not able to copy from the glass. I guess that when you scan using the ADF?  If the printer is capable of scanning, it should be able to copy.

To try to determine the cause, I will need more information.

    • Are you able to scan using the glass flat?
    • What happens when you try to copy?
    • What is the error message that you receive?
    • Are you getting what output it, or is it empty?
    • What you're trying to copy?
    • Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

I would also try to update the firmware of the printer. Click here to download it.

In the meantime, to help determine the cause, try the steps outlined in this document, HP Officejet 6500 has e-all-in-one printer series (E710) - copy and Scan outputs are completely black.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck!

  • HP printer Officejet 6500 a Plus

I bought a new printer and want to get rid of my old printer (HP Officejet 6500 a Plus).  My question is: is there any reader of memory in the printer I'm tossing or is it just just to throw it away?

    Hello

Thank you for using the HP forum.

You can restore the default printer.

Theres no hard drive on the PC but if you don't save any number of fax on this subject, you may want to delete that.

Usually, we cut the strip of coding, break the glass of the scanner and cut other visible wires before disposing of it so that the printer is "beyond economic repair" for anyone who can pick it up.

    Hope that helps.

In my view, that the OS is Windows x 64. My situation is that I can no longer print from my iPad or phone. I can still print without any problem in my laptop. When I try to my tablet or phone I get the message that it is in contact with the printer (which is normal), then an error message is displayed. Error [OFBBD0]

    Hey @FerFer,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support. I hope you enjoy your experience here.

I understand that you are unable to print from your iOS devices using your HP Officejet 6500 a Plus e-All-in-One - E710n. I want to help you with this.

What you describe, it seems that you use AirPrint when the error message appears.  With this printer, you have three ways to print from iPhone / iPad. The most common method is called AirPrint. For your information, "AirPrint is a solution of mobile printing included with Apple's iOS v4.2 and later mobile operating systems.

iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users can print wirelessly on any HP ePrint-enabled printer which is connected to the same local wireless network. Most of the released HP printers in 2010 and later support AirPrint.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8710: HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 print do not tried HP Print and Scan Doctor

    Hello HP Forum,

I'm new and have read many articles on printing does not. I had this printer yesterday and I was so excited to use it! When came home... DOH! Nothing prints not! So, I used the print and Scan doctor and that fixed it... temporarily. Now it won't print and print and scan doctor said nothing! I printed something this morning, but I saw a mistake, then I went to print it again, nothing would have uttered. I'm getting a little angry that I (May) have lost $170 on this thing.

I could really use some help please! If not, I just lost $170 on this thing.

My system is Windows 10 1511 Pro 64 - Bit, and the printer is USB connected.

    Thanks in advance,

    HPOJPro8710

Edit: I just tried printing HP and Scan Doctor 4.9 once again, now it works again. But this will not last forever, I need a permanent solution.

Edit 2: I forgot to add that I intend to leave it on all the time. It is good to do? Causing my problems?  My grandparents have their HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 24/7 for I don't know how many years! haha and they have no problem!

I got a HP OfficeJet 4630 USB connected, and I turned off each time and printed correctly. Only had to fix once with HP print and Scan doctor.

Hi, seems that your computer is powered off the USB ports to save energy.
    Check in the Device Manager.
    Check under USB controllers.
    Check all USB hub root.

Select power management and ensure that:

Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power is DISABLED.

Use a USB cable of good quality, not more than 6 feet long.

Connect the 8710 directly to a power outlet wall.
