HP Officejet 6700 Premium: Unable to connect to the new network HP 6700

I just changed networks and want to connect my HP Officejet 6700 Premium to the new network.

In the control panel of the printer, I accessed network / Wireless Installation Wizard.  When I do, I get the message:

Locking function

This feature has been locked by your system administrator or the person who set up the printer.

There is an OK button, but no other options.

I get the same message when I tried to access a WiFi Protected Setup, and, for good measure, the default system restore.

There is no administrator, in itself, because I'm the one who has set up the printer.  I'm rulnning a MacBook Pro on OS X El Capitan.

Please, help me to know what I need to do to connect my printer to the network so I can print.

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer and especially for providing additional resources should what was being offered as a solution to not work.

I have tried your solution several times and kept getting the same message.  I tried shuttig the printer off by pulling on the power cord, stop in the right way, reverse iin, etc..  Nothing removed the error.

Then I took the printer to a local Best Buy to show them the problem, which was at home.  We tried it a few times, and then, for no reason whatsoever (seems), it allowed us to do a reset.  No one knows what was different.

My advice for anyone with the same problem is completely unplug it, let it sit for a while, keep trying and hope for the best.

Can someone please give some other suggestions for this problem?

    Hey,.

Can you connect to your home WIFI router correctly?

If you have problems with the public network connection, you should ask the owner of these networks. Usually, there is always a contact, you can ask if you have any problems with the connection.

What you can try is updated WLAN driver from Toshiba's official website:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

If it doesn't work, ask the person contact I mentioned.

  • My PC (Windows 7), will automatically connect to the new networks unknown wireless is in the range. I want to stop it.

I found a variety of positions that describe how to disable the "connect automatically" option for a specific network you connected to in the past (via 'manage wireless networks), for example:

They do not resolve my problem because my computer connects automatically on * new, unknown * networks that I've never connected to the front (and also, even after it connects to these networks, they do not appear in the list under 'Manage wireless networks').
Apparently, it set to the default behavior to automatically connect to the new network he meets, and I need that to turn off. Thank you.

  • HP Officejet Pro 6830: HP Officejet Pro 6830 - unable to connect to the computer

    Hello

I just replaced my Officejet6500 with an Offiejet 6830

I have lived throughout the configuration stage until the software looked for the printer and it cannot be found. the printer is confirmed as connected to the same network as the computer's wireless so I don't know why it is not to be discovered

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thank you very much

    Mike

    Hey @mfbar,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that printer e-all-in-one Officejet 6830 and your Mac OS x 10.10 machine are not communicating. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:

    Turn the printer off.

While the printer is turned off, remove the power cord at the back of the router for a minute.

When the lights come back on the router, turn on the printer.

Now on the printer, click on the wireless icon that looks like a radio tower.

    • If the IP address starts with 169.254, the printer is not getting a valid IP address. Contact your internet provider or one that provided you with the router for assistance in ensuring the router assigns IP addresses.
    • If the IP address starts with 172, the printer is connected to a network of comments. Contact your internet provider or one that provided you with the router for assistance with deactivation of the feedback network.
    • If the IP address begins with 192.168, the printer is properly connected to the network. Please see below.
    • If the IP address begins with any other number, the network is maintained. Contact your computer or the one who manages the assistance network.

Once the above is done, if the Mac is still not able to detect the printer then the next step is to contact your internet provider or the one who provided the router. When you do, ask them to:

    • Open all ports.
    • Select multicast.
    • Disable MAC filtering/MAC cloning.
    • Make sure that the router has a band of 2.4 GHz (gigahertz).

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you are able to connect to your printer, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8610: Printer cannot connect to the new wireless network

I got the OfficeJet Pro for a while and everything worked very well (including wireless printing from my Mac and iPad AirPrint). Yesterday, we got a new Modem Router (from Ubee). As I tried to connect the printer with the new network, I fail miserably.

Here's what I've tried several times: on the small screen of the printer, I select: Network Setup > wireless setting > Wireless Setup wizzard. The printer seems to networks, find the network and asks me the password, I get the password (I did this several times, so no typos!). The printer then "trying to connect to the network"... then it crashes: for a very short moment, I get a blue screen with a white error code (not always the same, for example.) B3FF3802) and then the message "error in the printer, turn off the power, then press.

I turned off the printer and turn it back on several times (incl. pulling out the power plug and restart after a while), but when I go through the steps above, but I just get the same endresult.

I deleted the old network as I feared it might interfere with the creation of the new network. No noticeable effect.

I printed the "results of the wireless network test," which confirms that "your HP printer is unable to connect to your wireless router. In the results of the diagnosis, he states that 'network name (SSID) was found - Fail.

I quite understand the message that the printer detects the network and shows good SSID / network name. I thought to enter the SSID manually but can't find where I could do.

I'd be very grateful for any suggestions on what could be the problem (I can't imagine that the printer would not work with a new router... I searched the internet and found stuff on 'Hello compatibility', but do not know which is the issue I'm facing.

    Thanks for your help!

Now, this morning, everything was fine and I connected wonderfully, but now I can't connect no settings have been changed I just stop and start as usual. I used configfree and it shows the network but if I try to connect it says unable to connect to the network. I have Win7 home basic OS.

Can someone help will appreciate it greatly!

    Hello

Are you able to connect to open WLan?
I mean you can try to disable security options in your Fritzbox and might test whether you are able to connect without the WEP, WPA or other safety standards.
Of course, you should only done for testing purposes

If this box works, then it means that the security of your router settings were not consistent with the settings of the Wlan card.

  • ESXi 5.5 - unable to connect to the management network

I've been using ESXi for v3.  I have a small cluster of HP DL360 G5 where I was using ESXi 5.1 update 1.  I brought a new DL 360 G5 into the mix and decided to install 5.5.  After the installation, I'm going to set up the management network as usual and even after a reboot, I'm unable to access the site via http or the vSphere client.  For help, I installed the version of HP with CIM providers and I installed the stock VMware 5.5 with current pilot Rollup and they all exhibit the same behavior.  It starts fine, but I can't connect to the management network.  Curiously, however, they address IP does not respond to a ping.  I installed the 5.1 update 1 on the same server and it works fine.  Does anyone have an idea on what's going on?  Are there recommended troubleshooting steps?  It's strange to me because the ESXi has always been very reliable on HPs.

    Thank you - Greg

  • Unable to connect to the WIFI network.

Original title: Need computer help laptop to connect to the WiFi at home

I have FIOS at home, but my new laptop is impossible to connect to the WIFI in my house, the diagnostic computer wasn't able to fix the problem, what can I do?

    Hello

    1. what exactly happens when you try to connect to the WIFI network?
    2. do you receive any error messages?

    Method 1:
I suggest you try the procedure described in the article and see if it helps.

Windows wireless and wired network connection problems
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/wired-and-wireless-network-connection-problems-in-Windows

    Method 2:
If the problem persists, you try the procedure described in the article and check out them.
How to troubleshoot wireless network connections in Windows XP Service Pack 2
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/870702

Alternatively, you can check the link for more information:

Error message when you try to run the Network Setup Wizard update for Windows XP Service Pack 2, Service Pack 3, or Windows XP Tablet PC 2005 Edition wireless
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/871122

    Method 3:

If the problem persists, you can temporarily disable the antivirus software and check.

    (a) click Startand then click run.

    (b) copy and Paste the following text in the box run command and then press enter:

    wscui.cpl

    (c) in the Windows Security window, click Virus Protection.

    (d) if the software is activated, display information about the antivirus program and note the name of the application.

    (e) click Start, click programs principally made and then look for and run the anti-virus program.

    (f) temporarily disable the software.

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    I hope this information helps!

I followed the instructions on reprint the code of request but were unsuccessful. I constantly get a message that my printer is unable to conect to the server. My network wireless printing has been set up and I was able to print from my phone, laptop, & office. Can someone help me please my claim code?

    Hey @bhigh904,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.

I see that you are unable to activate the services Web on your HP Officejet 6700 Premium e-all-in-one printer. I would like to help.

When users encounter this type of problem, I usually suggest from scratch with the radio of the printer and webservices configuration.  You can clear all of these parameters in a swoop by the factory default restore * your printer.

    Here's how:

    * Note that this step resets the setting up your printer wireless, address ePrint and other custom print settings. If you have created a custom address @hpeprint.com it is permanently erased. For more information about custom addresses ePrint, click here.

    • The printer's front panel, press the Setup/key icon and then tap tools
    • Select Restore to factory settings

Then, touch the wireless icon () and run the Wireless Setup Wizard to restore your network connection.

Make a note of the IP address of the printer.  Then, follow these steps to configure a manual DNS:

    • Enter the printer's IP address in a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer) and press ENTER to go directly to this page.
    • Click the network tab.
    • In the submenu on the left, click Networking.
    • Then click on the network (IP) address.
    • Click Manual DNS server.
    • DNS preferred as 8.8.8.8 manual entry
    • Auxiliary DNS server entry as 8.8.4.4
    • Click on apply to finalize this change.

Then, press the icon of Webservices () and reactivate your webservices (necessary for scan to e-mail, ePrint and other features).

Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post.  If I helped you to solve the problem and that you liked this post, feel free to give me virtual accessories by clicking on the 'Thumbs Up' icon below and by accepting this solution.

Thanks for posting in the Forum from HP Support. Have a great day!

Some of the links in your message that resolved this issue earlier are currently unavailable.

Install and reboot and then see if you're OK...

That's the only reason why I can think that now prevents you from being able to connect on a network with WPA2 Personal Security.

  • Unable to connect to the wireless network WPA2 in Windows 7 with Dell E6400

    Hello

I've spent almost a week to find the following problem with one of my laptops:
    Laptop Dell Latitude E6400
CPU Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53 GHz
    Memory 4 GB
OS Windows 7 SP1 32 bit Home Premium
Card WiFi Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini Card
Intel 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection Ethernet card

With the wireless configuration (Ethernet is unplugged), my E6400 sees the Motorola SBG 6580 wifi router using WPA2, but when I try to connect to this router (with WPA2 password) I got the error message:
Windows could not connect to myrouter.

I've updated all the drivers with the latest version and I still have the same error message.

I have another laptop Dell E4300 under Windows 7 SP1 32 bit Home Premium and I can connect to the Motorola router without problems.

Do you have ideas of how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

I had this problem with my new Dell 1545 & wireless 1397 card, but it was some time ago. The utility Dell WiFi was, it turned out, interfere with the management of the windows of the WiFi card. There was also a problem of compatibility with versions of driver and I had to keep the driver to the version Windows offered two years ago. You can read about it at low signal wireless Dell Inspiron 1564 laptop 1397 WLAN Mini card , but do not forget that it was some time ago, it's with another model of Dell & that no router was involved.

You can also try asking Dell support, but I never had any help from them at all, despite the request.

  • Unable to connect to the NAS network via a wired connection?

    Hi all

I have 2 network NAS. They are both a Bay D-Link ShareCenter 2. One is full of media I use for streaming and the other is used to keep backups of my computers and some software. Both of the NAS are configured in RAID mirror. They both worked fine when I got them almost a year ago, they are mapped to letters pilot Y and Z. 2 days when I logged my office a popup notification came to say.
"cannot reconnect to all network drives, click here to check the status of your network drives."
    so I checked it status and he said they were offline. I restarted my computer and both the NAS, but it made no difference. Then I tried to disconnect the drives, but when I try to reconnect to them I get this error;
"Windows cannot access \\192.168.0.32\Volume_1\Joe, check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there could be a problem with your network. In an attempt to identify and solve network problems, click on diagnose. »
When I click to diagnose it is unable to find a default.
The next thing I did was disable my Ethernet card and connect to my network with my WiFi adapter. Then I tried to re - map the NAS is connected via the wireless. This time he allowed me to map them and they seem to work as usual via the wireless connection, but it is rather slow on the wireless.
    Then I disconnected my WiFi connection and reactivated my Ethernet card. When I tried to open the NAS I get this error message;

"An error occurred while reconnecting Z: to \\192.168.0.32\Volume_1\Joe, Microsoft Windows network: the local device name is already in use." This connection has not been restored. »

    A friend told me that this error was because the drive letter is used by a USB storage device or remembered from a previous session, and to remedy, I should run these 2 commands CMD;
NET use * / Delete Yes
    NET use / persistent: no
After you run the two orders, nothing has been changed still the same problem. I also I have no USB storage device so it may be that.
The next thing I tried was to ping both the NAS, I did this on Ethernet and WiFi connections, and both times I return a normal response both to the NAS.
I defrosted then to restore an image from my Office I made around a week ago and I know that I don't have this problem at the time. The image I did was with Acronis. When I started on the CD of Acronis support, I discovered that Acronis software could connect both the NAS on my desktop Ethernet. After restoring I still have the same problem.
Now, there's 1 thing I noticed, my laptop can still connect to both WiFi and Ethernet NAS with all the problems. I also have an android phone, and who can connect both of the NAS via a WiFi connection.
1 last thing you to know is I can always get to the configuration of the NAS so pages I visit it local address in a web browser. I also ran a factory reset both the NAS and then re-applied my own settings. This does not solve the problem, and more that turning March my routers.
Please can someone help me solve this problem. I'm running a Windows 8 Pro 64 Bit operating system. If you need more information on my system spec or how I have my setup of home network please let me know.
    Thank you Joe.

This problem has now been fixed.

For some reason any my AVG firewall had defrosted on its own to block access to the features as well as to define its self to disable the file and printer sharing of files on the NAS share.
So a small trick to my firewall and everything works as it should.
    Thank you Joe.
