HP Officejet 8625: Interference of your Fax with phone

I have a desktop with Mac laptop, desktop and HP Officejet 8625 phone. I have my Officejet connected to my 1 d phone jack, and when I get a phone call I have a fax on the line tone. How do I remove it?

I followed the instructions and then increased the number of the 'rings' from 2 to 5, so I will try this solution. Thanks for your help.

  • HP Officejet Pro 6830: Receive faxes with a HP officejet pro 6830 w / answering machine

I had an OLD officejet model that could receive faxes even if the answering machine was not connected directly to the fax machine the 6830 manual says that it must be directly connected.  My current Brother printer does NOT receive faxes because of this problem.  Anyone know if I directly connect my machine to this model (Officejet 6830) to make it work?  I won't buy it if it will not work.

    Hello @JPJ408,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are looking to buy a printer all-in-one HP Officejet Pro 6830 for fax purposes. While the User Guide advise you to plug the answering machine directly on the back of the Officejet unit, it is not necessary.

If you have a fax with an answering machine on her line, the only requirement is that the fax is set to two rings higher than the answering machine. Most of the responders are put back on 4 rings. As a result, you would set your Officejet to automatically pick up on 6 rings. In this way, when a voice is heard, you can manually respond to the call before the answering machine to pick up. If you are not home and then people can still leave messages on your answering machine. If you have a fax to come through, do not respond. The answering machine will pick up after 4 rings. At this point the fax machine "listen" on answering machine message and if fax tones are detected, the fax will take over and receive the fax.

I hope this helps clear up any confusion.

  • OfficeJet 8625: Scheduling faxes for later transmission

The manual, in the section on the fax beginning on page 60, begins the second sentence with: "you can schedule faxes to be sent at a later date...". ».

I was not able to find more information about this in the manual, or in dialog boxes when you choose the 8625 as my FAX printer and dialog boxes to send a fax.

I'd be happy to use this feature via the print/fax HP driver if it is actually available and can someone tell me how to do, or, I would gladly use Windows Fax-Scan to plan faxes for transmission later if someone could tell me the network address (WFS is asking for a network fax server address) to use.

    Hi Jimmy,.

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

Your printer user's guide does not say it's either lying to you or information is missing.  I don't know which is the case.

The following is from the HP Photosmart 7520 user's Guide on the same topic (Page 28):

    Excerpt:

Schedule a fax to send later

You can schedule a fax black and white to send in the next 24 hours. This allows you to send a fax in black and white, later in the evening, when telephone lines are not as busy or telephone rates are lower, for example.

The printer automatically sends your fax to the specified time.

You can schedule only a fax to send at once. You can continue to send faxes normally, however, a fax is planned.

NOTE: You can only send regular faxes in black and white.

To schedule a fax from the printer control panel

    1. load your original face up to print down in the right front corner of the glass or the side to be printed in the automatic document feeder.

    2. Press Fax and then tap Settings.

    3. touch Send Fax later.

    4. Enter the time by touching the up and down arrows touch AM or PM, and then touch done.

    5. Enter the fax number using the keyboard, touch (speed dial) to select a speed, or touch (call history) dial to select a number already dialed or received.

    6. press start fax. The printer scans all of the pages and the time is displayed on the screen. The fax is sent at the scheduled time.

    ----------------------------------------

    To cancel a scheduled fax

1 1 Appuyer support on the fax, and then tap Settings.

    2. touch fax later.

    3. Press cancel scheduled fax.

  • Error 388 trying to fax with HP Officejet 6700

When you try to fax with HP Officejet 6700, I get an error message 388 - whatever that means?

Some background info: I try to use a MagicJack Plus on PC under Windows 7 Professional Powerspec environment - the fax works with devices such as MagicJack VoIP?  I have the tone & I set the fax speed to slow down

There is a document that explains the different fax error codes.  The document can be accessed here.

    Error 388-

    Definition

There is too much noise on the line for a valid connection between two fax machines to complete. The noise issue may disappear over time.

    Solution

Retry the fax to a receiving another time when improved telephone line conditions. Call phone provider if the driving conditions fail to improve.

It is a common mistake when trying to fax over VoIP, such as MagicJack.  Probably that that's not going to work based on the error you receive.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8715: eliminate unwanted faxes

I recently bought an officejet pro 8715.  I want to eliminate unwanted faxes.  But many shippers send the fax with the fax number not identified.  (I can't block these faxes unidentified).  I want to store all the faxes on the 8715 and then post them on my computer before printing.  In this way, I only print the faxes that I want.

    Can I do this?

  • OfficeJet 8600 does not print faxes

OfficeJet Pro 8600 more.  Windows 7.  Printer receives a fax but does not print.  Go to tools Fax and select fax reprint in memory.  How can I put it all simply print faxes as they come?

You are welcome.  In fact, I thank you for your patience with me.  This looks like a simple décor, such as Fax To PC is turned on.  How the printer is connected (USB, Ethernet or wireless)?

Do you get a fax notifications on your computer?  I created a digital Fax folder using the digital Fax Setup Wizard and it asks if you want to automatically print incoming faxes.  I will include a picture and let me know if this configuration page looks familiar.

-Setting up digital fax HP to save received faxes to your computer- click on this link for more information about the digital fax to PC configuration.

The best way to know if put you it in place is to go into your basic fax settings and select HP digital fax at the bottom of this menu.  If he tells you to complete the installation, then you have not done this.

I think that maybe it's the feature prevents printing immediately your fax.  This will work only if you have set up the printer on a wireless network.

  • HP officejet 6210 all in one fax

HP officejet 6210 all-in-one, fax not send fax with Vonage phone, I'm sure that most people have no problem, what should I do to fix this? Help, please

I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue. The fax works with Vonage, BUT it doesn't really work that well. This may sometimes work, it may not.

Vonage is a (VOIP) Voice Over Internet Protocol. It has many transmitters communicate in both directions and can cause the interruption between the lines. You can try some steps, but it may not always work.

    1. go in the settings of your Fax

    2. change your Error Correction Mode (ECM) - OFF

3 set the fax speed to slow DOWN

Make sure it is properly connected.

1 LINE 1 at the rear of the printer goes directly to LINE 1 of the Vonage modem (or wall plug)

2 LINE 2 goes directly to the phone.

Hope this helps. Let me know what happens.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610 - answering a call by phone, and then receive a fax remotely

    Hello everyone

We just purchased and installed a Pro Officejet 8610 as a fax on our home/office phone line.

The phone line also receives regular calls and a phone is connected to the line BUT 2 FLOORS above.

Is it possible to receive a fax after having responded to the call from the phone?

If the phone was near the Officejet we can start the fax by using the touch screen, but this is not the case.

We had a standard fax machine (Sharp UX-238) that can be started remotely directly from the phone that answers the call simply typing "5."

    (see also http://files.sharpusa.com/Downloads/ForBusiness/DocumentSystems/MFPsPrinters/Manuals/MX6240N_7040N/c...

One wonders if similar behavior or is available on the Officejet Pro 8610.

    Hello

If yo, pick up the phone and hear a fax sounds, "123" from your phone dial, and which should cause the fax answer the call.

If you do not see this response, make sure that the Mode of Error Correction is enabled in the printer setup and check again:

    1. On the printer Panel, drag the screen to scroll to Setup and then press the Setup icon ( ).

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 cannot receive fax

I just got a Comcast phone line and I can send faxes but not receive.  Do I need a digital analog converter box?  How can I fix it?

I'm sorry you have a problem with your fax. You may need to get a converter. Faxing with digital is not always guaranteed. It's so of transmitters and digital communication and that it is unable to send or receive.

Here is a link you can follow, which can help you with this problem.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02891758

You can also run the fax test and verify the results.

    Check your connections.

    1. LINE 1 on the printer goes directly to the wall jack or LINE 1 of the modem (if you have package, cable, internet and telephone).

2 LINE 2 on the printer go to the phone.

Let me know if these steps help you.
