Hello

Such a potential doe to a communication problem.

Try to connect the USB directly to your PC and not via the docking station, restart the PC and follow if you see similar behavior or not.

If it doesn't happen when you're connected directly I recommend you to check if there might be an update of the firmware available for the docking station, if happen you I suggest trying another USB cable and check for the difference.

  • OfficeJet 8600 loses its Wi - Fi connection while trying to analyze

I have an Officejet Pro (top-of-the-line) 8600 and I use this for my real estate business.  This means that I constantly analyse documents.  I bought this printer about a month ago, and I have multiple issues with the printer 'drop offline.

The time I noticed it most is when I will execute a function "Scan to Computer" or even "Scan to Network Folder.  When this happens and I am scanning documents, sometimes it's going to happen the first document and sometimes it won't get through 2-3 documents before the BLUE wireless light disappear and then start flashing (which means that it is again acquired a wireless signal).  Therefore, I lose my fax, and I have to try it once again.  My backup plan is to scan to a USB key, but not ideal at all (I bought this printer only for wireless capabilities).

I notice from time to time when I'm on the computer, the icon "Scan of the computer is no longer active" momentarily (which means that the printer was offline for a few seconds).

I made a page of configuration/network test and the signal was strong (5 of 5) and there is no problems through the test.  However, whenever I try a scan, very rarely the scan be completed and go to my computer.  What can I do?  I'll have to check, but I think I'm deconflicted regarding IP addresses (but if there is a de-escalation, wouldn't it not allow me to connect on the wireless at all?).

Has anyone else had problems with the features the Officejet 8600 series wireless?

For the off topic answer the first question, Netgear and 2Wire, which AT & T uses normally, should be substantially the same as, that shouldn't matter.  In addition, two router radio wireless networks that together could interfere with each other.  If you have a router that AT & T has failed, you need to get a standard modem from AT & T to replace the router modem combination to avoid that from happening.

Now on the problem of the accutall at hand.  I see two things from the information that you gave me and which could contribute to the problem.

The first is your encryption type.  WEP is actually the type of secure encryption leaste you can use, and can cause problems in connection with the printer.  HP printers work well with the type of WPA - AES encryption.  WPA - AES is also the most secure encryption type, that you can use right now.  If you are not comfortable change, contact AT & T and they should be able to help.

The second thing is the AVG software.  He doesn't like most of intra-network communications.  I don't know why since everything is behind the same firewall router, but don't like AVG for two devices on the same network communicate with each other constantly.  Fortunately you can tell him to stop obstructing communication by opening ports in the firewall to allow scanning through.  I will list the ports at the end of this post.

Try these things and let me know what happens.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 - Scan to computer

    Hello

I recently bought a HP OfficeJet Pro 8600. Installation and configuration was successful. However, every minute or two, I get a notification of ball on the Windows task bar that says "Scan to computer do not enabled." I assume that this occurs because the printer is turned off after entering a sleep mode is not used for a specific period of time. I could be wrong about this, of course. But assuming that I'm not wrong, my question is how can I disable that irritating notifcation to appear every minute?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    1. open the control panel and write "Notification area icons" in the search:

    2. the Notification area options appears and select the option that says ""ScantoPCActivation " "

    3. Select the option that says 'Hide icon and notifications'.

    • Click OK to close the window.

I hope that these steps will help you.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8625: Scan to computer & printer HP Assistant

I got a new 8625 Pro of OfficeJet and struggled with the configuration of the analysis feature.  I ran the software print and Scan doctor, who said he fixed a few problems, and now I can finally scan my computer.  However, I still have a problem with scanning the computer to the printer.  When I try to scan to the computer, there is a message on the printer screen that indicates that this feature must be enabled in the Printer Wizard.  However, when I open the Printer Wizard and click on manage the scan to the computer, nothing happens - the software simply does not.  Other selections in the Printer Wizard seem to work very well - just not this one.

Hi thanks for dogster , for getting back to me!

I appreciate you trying these steps. I know that you have reinstalled in the past, but there is a specific set of measures, I would try.

I would say uninstalling the software of the printer.

Once it is uninstalled, I suggest you put your system in clean boot mode in the configuration of Microsoft.  You can do this by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest to reinstall the HP printer install wizard for Windows.

Please let me know how it goes!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8720: OfficeJet Pro 8720 "Scan to computer".

    Hello everyone,

I just got the Pro OfficeJet 8720, I looked in the manual and cannot find a way to the place where to customize this feature.  On the printer you ave the opportunity to "scan to computer".  When you do so, you get a list of computers where to scan them to.  I don't have a problem with that.  The question I have, it the location where he recorded. Currently, it is by default in the My Documents folder.  Is there a way to tell it somewhere else... like a folder in my documents.   I can't find a way to tell him where to go.

I got an OfficeJet L7590 and I was able to customize the location, but I can't "find a way to do it on this printer.

    Thank you.

  • OfficeJet 7500 E910: OfficeJet 7500 E910 scan to computer problems

In the utility software of HP, I go to the screen below. I click on the small box to activate the scan of the computer. It will take a second, and then become green and indicates that it is enabled. If I then press 'All settings' or leave this page and then return to the analysis to the computer settings, it is no longer enabled.

I deleted the printer, restarted the computer, and did all the updates of the software. I have nothing seems to correct this problem. Before that, I had it enabled, it worked fine for a few months then it is gray as an option, does not let me choose enable scan of the computer. Now the problem described above occurs.

    Any advice?

    Hi @Gemini02,.

Thanks for the suggestion. Although I do not have an anti-virus that blocks, and it was not the error I received.

I have managed to solve myself today, by removing all the library files, reinstall the drivers, restart my computer and restart the printer. Some templates and other reels.

    Thank you.

    Hi guys,.

IM about to throw this POS out the window... For some reason, I can't scan my computer... I can print, I can even, scanning to a USB key.

I uninstalled the HP software, and tried to use the Apple drivers, I get a timeout. So I thought I would like to take the HP.com drivers - still no good.

When you try to scan from the computer, I don't get an error, HP Scan, will just in an infinite loop trying to find the device.

Since the device, I try the two Scan for computer - add iPhoto library or open in preview.

    I get this error:

If you are using Snow Leopard and you have the HP software before Snow Leopard (either from a CD that is not marked as compatible with 10.6 or you recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and had the HP software on your Mac before you upgraded), you must uninstall the software by using the "scrubber".  If you do this and you installed from the CD originally, re - install from the CD and uninstall in this way:

Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
    Click on continue
Highlight your device in the left pane
Hold down the Ctrl and Opt Cmd and click on uninstall
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click on continue and let it finish

    Restart your Mac

    Now run a software update.

Finally, download and install the "Full Featured" driver and software from the "Support & drivers" link at the top of this page.

  • OfficeJet pro 8600 + scan if there is no configuration for the network folder

The printer is wireless to my router and I connect to a computer connected to the router with an ethernet cable.  The computer is running Windows 7SP1 Home Premium 64.

During the original installation of the printer 3 days ago, I used the wizard set up 'scan to a network folder' a record 'scans public '.  He created the 'profile' correctly and worked well the first time I scanned (I scanned the 3 or 4 times with different tweaks to experiment).  However the next day it no longer worked error on the printer was, 'could not connect to \\Computername\Public scan. Check that the remote computer is on. "Obviously, the computer was on, some communication problems only happened from one day to the next day, he was sitting unattended.  Hmmmmm.  Note that the option "Scan to Computer" works very well, so communication is simply no "scan to network folder" option and I really want to scan to a network folder.

I went in a private "Scans" folder on my account and created a share as 'DadsScans', creating permissions and following all the tips I've come across so far.  Then I tried many times with the wizard to create a new configuration in the profile and all have failed and yes I found the network and turned on file sharing.  Also remember that it worked fine the first night?

I tried to enter the local path to the folder (C:\users\dad\My analysis) with a share name (DadsScans), but the error message after choosing the option "test and save" was, "error.  Your printer cannot connect to the server.  Press 'Back' to correct the address and the name of the server.  Setting is not saved. »

I then tried to enter the share name directly in the path of the network folder, like "\\computername\DadsScans", but the error was "error.  Your printer cannot connect to the server.  Press 'Back' to correct the address and the name of the server.  Make sure that network discovery and file sharing are turned on... "Note, I also tried,"\\computer Address\DadsScans IP"and got the same error.

Finally, I disabled my firewall and my anti-virus in real time and tried again and got the same error messages.

Once again, my network discovery and file sharing are on and it worked fine the first time I've used suggesting that everything was fine.  What happened during the night, so that the printer and computer sitting idle?  I've changed NOTHING!  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Well well, after several hours of attempts to solve the problem, the 'light bulb went on!  The night after that I configured the "scan to network folder" option, we had some difficulties with our network so I reset our modem and DSL router.  Who cleaned the problems of network with devices.  It is apparently broke something with the communications between the scanner and the computer.  A simple re-start the computer tonight and wa - la, the original public scan I configure worked again and I could create new profiles of "scanning to '!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 all-in-One connected as network printer loses connection

In December 2011, I bought a HP Officejet Pro 8600 all-in-One to replace an Officejet 6500 as my network printer home. The 6500 worked very well on my cable, but his screen did not, I tried some of the features offered by the 8600 and I got a good price on a new warehouse of BJ. I have the 8600 connected via ethernet (not wireless), with a static IP address. All my computers on the network are running Windows XP Pro SP3 and are up-to-date with Microsoft updates. However, from one day to the next my 8600 will lose connectivity scan (Scan of the computer shows it as being disabled on all my computers at the same time, and I can't reconnect), and if I do not have anything he'll (as in a few hours) also lose connectivity impression. The only way to restore connectivity is to uninstall the HP Officejet Pro 8600 device software basis of all computers, and then reinstall the printer. I had a phone conversation and two debates with HP Technical Support; They suggested that the problem is in the firewall on the computers (but if that were the case I don't think that the loss of connectivity would occur on all computers at the same time), the IP address setting (doesn't make sense) and the printer driver is not not the latest version. I tried all the suggestions, and none of them have solved the problem. The last counselor "has raised the issue to the next level", which proved to be a Manager with no technical expertise and his only suggestion was that I have to return the printer to the merchant. I think the problem is the firmware in the printer (which, according to the 'update' on the printer option, is the latest version). Any other suggestions or experience?

After a lot of research and find the settings that I did not know that Windows XP offered, I found that the following appear to have solved the problem I've known - at least the printer is now operational for more than 48 hours without losing printing or scan connection. Here are the steps I used:

    1. Start Control Panel  connections network and Internet

    2. Choose "network connections."

    3. Right click on "connect to the Local network.

    4. Choose "Properties".

    5. In the top window is the name of the Ethernet computer connection port, select "Configure" next to this window

    6. Select the tab labeled 'Power Management'

    7. Uncheck the box "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

    8. Select the "Advanced" tab

    9. Select the entry "power saving Mode".

    10. If this entry is set to change 'On' to 'Off '.

    11. Select 'OK', and then close the windows that were opened
