HP Officejet Pro 8100: Get a copy of the driver inf or dpg file

Is there a way to acquire the inf file or the file gpd of the driver for the HP OfficeJet Pro 8100 x 86 for Windows xp?  The only files I can find are installers .exe of self-help on the drivers/software from the HP page.  The instrument that I install the printer on does not allow executables to run for security reasons and for the life of me I can not find just the driver itself.

Hello

Run the setup executable and put an end to the installation screen.

Click on start > run and type %temp%.

Find the most recent file starting with 7z (for example 7z1234s) which is the installation from source, locate and use the Autorun.inf file in this folder.

    Hi @Wendy-needshelp,.

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support for a solution to your problem copying.

I understand that you use a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-all-in-one with a computer and Windows 7 when you copy from sometimes flat it will only copy and print 1/8 of the page. I would like to help.

You mentioned having unplugged and replugged the power cord. This is something that could be done. If you can, I reset the power and try to connect the printer directly to a wall outlet, if you currently use a protector or electrical surge extention. Sometimes the surge protectors can limit the amout of the power supplied to the printer.

There was an update firmware released in April, which can help your printer. You can download the update of the firmware and run it from your computer to install it on the printer. You can go to the HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g_n Firmware download page by clicking here.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 more: officejet pro 8600 more impossible to install the driver

I have been having problems printing of PDF files - they would print with black boxes in the portions of them that do not appear on the screen.  I confirmed that I had the latest version of Adobe Reader.  So I tried to update my drivers for the printer.  The HP site suggested that I have installed a new driver package.  It kept failing install.  The error was:

2081883401: failed to uninstall the device with the serial number XXXXXXXX (serial number removed)

I tried manually uninstall the printer first, but that doesn't seem to make a difference.

Now, the printer is not yet shown and I can't install it.

How can I get my work and the back of the printer?

    Hi @OHRassi,

This is great news to hear that have been able to understand what was causing the black boxes. I will keep that counts where I encountered this problem in the future.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8100: change the ssid

I recently tried the Hotspot to unite AT & T.  That has worked very well but not decided to take it and went back to my Airport base station and the old service provider.  When I tried to connect my printer to my network - a printer works fine but the HP Officejet Pro 8100 will not change back the Name (SSID) the name for the old SSID hotspot network.  Since I was a new AirBook Pro I have to connect the cable to a USB port and then run the utility for my printer and select network.  It does not connect.  Any suggestions?

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried this many times and it would be not just to reset the ssid. So after writing my post, I tried pressing the wireless button and the on/off switch at the same time. I went to try out some other combinations and print the configuration page. He changed the ssid for the correct name. Of course then I had to do what you described. Go to the printer utility with the cable connecting the computer and the printer and click on network. It has finally connected and I unplugged the cable between the computer and the printer. No problems now. Thanks for responding so quickly and hope it helps someone else.

    Hi @bigkahuna404,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that you get a runtime error message with your old printer HP Officejet 8100, after uninstalling the software. I'm happy to help you!

First of all, I would suggest trying the fix it MS, program by Microsoft. If this does not work, you will need to manually remove/disable the item from your startup programs. How to disable Vista and in Windows 7 startup programs.

Hope this information helps and have a nice day!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8100: Lost my printer drivers (after a Windows 10 update)!

    Hello

After the recent Windows 10 updates (one installed on Christmas day), I lost my (custom installed) to the printer drivers. No big deal I thought, ONLY MIcrosoft MOST inconvienience - I'll reinstall just them. But when I open the properties of the printer Panel, I found that ALL ADVANCED TAB where I needed access to reinstall drivers is now GRAY and completely unaccessable! I not only lost my custom drivers, I also lost my second tray of the printer (installed optionally) capacity! YES, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Now I need help to reinstall (they gave me specific instructions for installation, so I won't bumble worse trying to install them differently (as a regular driver) without confirmation first.)
This is a PERFECT EXAMPLE of why we should be allowed to choose for outselves when and what updates to install on OUR computer! I checked the Windows Update history and there is NOTHING there that would strike even he would have had to change printer drivers, nor I anthing that would affect them being changed (for example, allowing control HP from my PC to automatically updated drivers), but clearly something changted them.

What I HAD... I use a printer Officejet Pro 8100 bought two years ago February next with the option second tray of the installed printer. I also use Officejet 8600 drivers in order to be able to print my graphic files properly (these drivers were recommended on this forum once I have posted having problems printing after the first installation. These drivers worked PERFECTLY in all of my PC (running Windows XP, 8.1, and 10), but now with the missing options, everytting is printing through the upper status bar (where I have a THICK paper). I don't have the ability to choose which try to print (Tray 1 or 2), and I need to change paper whenever I want to print on different paper (I always had a THICK paper on top (Tray 1) and plain paper in the lower part (tray 2) because it would not print thick paper from the tray at the bottom.

To use the 8600 drivers, I was given specific instructions (on this forum) on install in the section "NEW DRIVER" of the ADVANCED TAB in the properties of the printer. Now that I don't have access to this tab, I need to know if there is a way to access new (my preferred method) OR another way to install (for example just install them as if I would install the printer (8600))?

It's free enough explainatory tab FULL area is GRAYED OUT, but in case there are any doubts, I have attached is a screenshot showing what he looks like.

I apprecate any help you could offer.

    Kind regards... Chugbug

    OK, now it's really WEID!

I tried during the last 24 hours to get to the Panel in question, including the restart of Windows at least half a dozen times without success.  But now tonight after that I dug around the different tabs, once again, INCLUDING clicking on through security and permissions panels (but not to make changes) AND for posting my question here, all in the advanced Panel was suddenly accessible once more!

I reinstalled my 8600 drivers again, then reset my printing (default) preferences (paper 2 / plain plateau), and everything is good again (kumbaya...)!

Good thing, I took a screenshot of it (grey) or I can't believe myself!

    Happy holidays!  Chugbug

  • HP Officejet Pro 8100: HP Officejet 8100 N811a - network connection is not possible

    Hello community,

I have a pretty standard network with 3 points of access, WPA - PSK authentication, TKIP/AES encryption, running on channels 1-11. I made the MAC filtering is off and DHCP is on.

The printer connects to the network, or via the software of HP Doc or the EWS settings.

It's however possible to connect the city nearby networks so I must be overlooking something.

After that under the HP Doc and he's trying to set up the printer I just get an exemption from the unknown error.

The printer prints fine when connected by cable.

The Network Configuration after the eroor HP Doc said

    Wireless on : Pass
    Wireless Working : Pass

    Connected : Not Run

    Network Name Found : Pass

Printer Settings Consistent : Not Run
    No Filtering : Not Run
    Channel : Not Run
    Security : FAIL

And in the Configuration it lists the SSID but IP Adress states : not applicable

    Ideas?

    Hi @NK10,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you are unable to connect wirelessly with your HP Officejet Pro 8100 printer. I will definitely do my best to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and mark "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I see that you mentioned that you have "3 APs, authentication WPA - PSK, AES/TKIP encryption, running on channels 1-11 I made sure MAC filtering is off and DHCP is on. »

First, I'll assume means AP access point.

    • WPA2-PSK (TKIP) WPA2-PSK (AES) and WPA2-PSK (TKIP/AES) are all different encryption options. Which one do you use?
    • Do not use more than one type of encryption at the same time, what access points help.
    • The router is connected to one channel at a time, not 1 to 11. What channel are you on?
    • DHCP should only be enabled on the router and disabled on each access point.

Looks like the access points are configured incorrectly. They should have the same type of encryption and be on the same channel as the router. If the printer works well on the wired connection the wireless network configuration is causing a conflict.

Tips for a successful wireless connection:

    • Using a unique network name (SSID).
    • Make sure you have 802.11 g active.
    • The printer cannot connect to the 5.0 GHz network. If you have a double router broadband, the 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz network names are not the same. Rename the 5.0 GHz network.
    • Don't hide your SSID (network name).
    • Change the router channel fixed wireless as the 1, 6 or 11, who less than traffic.
    • You have a switch?
    • Do not use a network of comments (SSID).
    • Disable UPnP on the router.
    • Set the router to 20 Mhz only, or 145Mbps depending on the router.
    • Update the firmware on the router.

For troubleshooting purposes, follow these steps:

    1. Disable all access points.
    2. Connect the printer to the router wirelessly.
    3. Test print.

If the printer works fine wireless connected access points, you must reconfigure the access points correctly. HP does not support the networks with access point, additional router or switch, etc. The complexity of the configuration.

For more information, see print wireless Center.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck!

This printer is a HP replacement for a Pro Offcejet 8000 defective.  I have the DVD of the old printer and he ran with it.  Apparntly, he had the OfficeJet Pro 8100 on it software and installed it without any error message.  So far, it seems to work well.  I have to think that there is something wrong with the 8100 to the HP Web site software.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8100 does not recognize the new router

I saw this question for other printers, so I hope that there is a response to mine.  I just upgraded the speed of my internet service which involved a new router.  We made sure all the computers in the House worked with her, but I forgot to try the printer before the technician left.  Now my computer thinks printer Officejet Pro 8100 is offline (turned off) and the blue light on the printer blinks.  How can I get the printer to recognize the new router?  I guess I have to add that I do not know where to find the code of the intellectual property that is asked for when I go to the start menu, the HP folder, select my printer, etc.  He said: push the button on my printer wireless, so I push button blue flashing light but that does not produce a number.  Help appreciated!    It's an ATT router and I have the WiFi network name and wireless password.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8100: Officejet Pro 8100 won't print color after update software on Mac

I have a MacBook Air with OS X (Yosemite 10.10.3)-.

When I connect the printer via USB, I was able to print by using the generic drivers on the machine. However, as expected, update software detected an update for HP drivers - I installed.

And now the printer does not print in color. I checked every setting I can think, but it is still printing in black and white.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Welcome to the @mandikayencforum!

I have read your current position and the previous thread on how you were not and are not able to print in color from your Mac running 10.10. I saw that already test pages were color printing and would like to know if the test always pages print in color. If they do, a matter for the Mac somewhere, and I have some suggestions for you to do below. If the test pages no longer print in color, please let me know! If the printer is not printing in color when you print test pages, there is probably a problem of cartridge or printer hardware problem.

    1. follow the same steps of @Waterboy71 on your other thread here to reset the permissions system disk and repair of printing: Re: Officejet Pro 8100 refuses to print color (OS X 10.9)

    2. If you still do not have the ability to select the color printing on your Mac, try the procedure described in this post from wisgirl64: Re: won't print in color from my Mac or iPhoto for HP photosmart D110

If you find that the color print test pages, and the Mac does not give you the options to choose color printing, I suggest getting in touch with Apple support experts to see if they can help fix the problem of the OS X.
