HP Officejet Pro 8500 a Premium: print head
I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500 a Premium e-all-in-one printer - A910n printer on a home network.
I have known printing issues that point to a printhead problem; but I don't know where. I lined up and cleaned the print heads HP Print & Scan doctor and the console on the printer. No luck; My test pages shows the black and magenta blocks, but not blocks cyan or yellow.
I printed the console power-on self-test diagnostic page; and, he pointed out that the status of printhead is good for the two print heads.
If I have to replace a print head, I don't know what printhead to replace. Of what I have posted. It sounds like black/yellow or magenta/cyan failed; or do I have another problem?
Thank you!

HP Officejet Pro 8500 a Premium does not print the docs of the computer, but will display a test page. I constantly get a message that the computer cannot communicate with the printer. Not only it will be not be printed docs, it will not print web pages using 11 IE or Google Chrome.
I used print and Scan of doctor, he always reports there are no questions and print page one same test so I can not print anything else.
Whenever I want to print, I have to restart the computer. After the reboot, I have a chance to print. This problem started on February 15, 2015.
My operating system is Windows 8.1. I have unintalled HP, rebooted, and then reinstalled the software software:
OJ8500_A910_1315 - 1.exe
HP Print and Scan - HPPSdr.exe doctor
HPSupportSolutionsFramework - 11.51.0049.msi
All versions were last uploaded on 4 April 2015.
I have a home wireless network (router Ubee DDW366). All other devices in the House will be printed on the printer of 8500 has no problems: 2 Toshiba laptops, 2 Android phones and 1FireHD.
The desk top is installed with a network card Netgear, I don't know the model, but I had it tested by a PC technology to verify that the card works. The card and 8.1 of Windows have been installed on January 3, 2015.
I have run virus scans and analyzes malware. Whenever they show that there are no problems with my desktop computer. What kind of desktop? Specially designed for my listing of... without brand computer parts store. ASUS motherboard P6X580 Premium. Now I will probably get hacked!
I'm at my wits end. And it's frustrating when I need to print something and the system hangs. I often use screen printing to a word document to save in order to restart... but then I lose all sorts of features when I pick up what I needed. It is also a time consuming.
This printer we served well for two years and I have expensive cartridges pending; another two cycles of recharge.
Help?
Addendum: can I scan with the HP printer help. I open the HP printer assistant, he "gets" the printer information, then I select "scan a document or photo" and the printer answers. I have no problem with the sweep.
It has been awhile, but I played on something you wrote. "There could be a software conflict with the HP software" everything worked very well... impression was shifted at best; just didn't know if it would work. So I would eliminate a program, reboot clean, try to print, and then reinstall the software. I finally found the culprit. I had a program running in the background, occasionally. When it ran, HP does not print. Stop the program and I was able to print... Do not have a problem since I found it... I do not say that it was a software to share files... so I replaced since this program with something else that doesn't cause problems... It took a long time and I couldn't work the question every day.... but I can say that I have problems printing for the past 5 days! I can print with confidence.

HP Officejet Pro 8500 a: printers print only after the new cartridges installed
Whenever I put in new cartridges I have problems with the print head alignment, then it usually printed. This time, he was sitting with cartridges empty color for awhile and now it does not print at all. I always use only the new HP cartridges. It fails the alignment and the blue and yellow and sometimes the magenta show on the sheet alignment. What is the print heads? Why would I need to change them whenever I have to add ink cartridges new which makes no sense. I have never changed them, but they worked very well until I added the new ink.
Hey @janh1058,
Welcome to the Forum from HP Support. I hope you enjoy your experience here.
I understand that e-all-in-one-HP Officejet Pro 8500 a your printer is printing is no longer. I would like to work with you on this. I have a few suggestions that might restore your printing capabilities.
It could be that the long period of inactivity of dormancy has dried the print head, even if you have made the right choice in leaving the cartridges installed in the printer. I recommend you try the following basic troubleshooting steps before embarking on a manual print head cleaning more intensive:
- Click here and clean the printhead automatically via the front panel of the printer, as shown in the second Solution.
- Repeat three times if you still have print quality issues.
- Remove and reinsert the cartridges once more with the printer to force the printer to print a different allignment page.
- This to improve the print quality?
If you use always the same question, I have a few more advanced troubleshooting tips:

OfficeJet Pro 8500 has Premium - problem with printing PDF documents
My boss has the printer/HP Officejet Pro 8500 Premium has in his office. He had problems with the printing of PDF documents. As a general rule, what print is either unintelligible or will have a black line at the top of many pages, even if it's just a 1 page document. No problems printing on other types of documents, only the PDF files. Is it possible to fix this? Thank you!
Try the following setting and let me know any changes:
Adobe Reader, launch the dialogue of the printer.
Click on Advanced Options at the bottom of the dialog box.
Check the Print as Image checkmart.
Click OK to approve and try to print

OfficeJet Pro 8500 a Premium: my printer driver has changed and it's HORRIBLE
I have been using my HP 8500 a all-in-one with a few years now with no problem. Day before yesterday, I met a problem: when I tried to specify certain pages of a document to print, I get an error message. However, if I chose to print the entire document, it would print. I assumed that my driver to be updated, so I downloaded from the HP website. WHAT A HORRIBLE MISTAKE IT WAS. My scanning utility has changed, I can only print even when I choose to print an entire document. I can't print at all in an Excel worksheet. I tried uninstalling the driver and re-install. I DON'T want to network this printer, but now whenever I have try to reinstall the driver, I can choose to connect via USB, but on the pop - up next, it does not give me the option to proceed. It gives me the possibility to 'come back' or 'jumps' USB connection.
What the hell is happening?
Hi @LMKos,
Welcome to the HP community!
I hope you have a pleasant experience here.
I want to help you with driver/software problems that you are having with your HP Officejet Pro 8500 has e-all-in-one printer and your computer Windows 8.
It seems that your software is may not be installed correctly, in addition to the common issue of 8.1 to Windows Installer automatically update Windows drivers.
First of all, with the USB cable plugged in, we want to remove all instances of your printer in Device Manager (so when you plug the USB cable back in during the new installation, it will be seen as a new device).
- Open your start.
- Start typing 'This PC', it will come under results of research. Right-click on computer and select Manage.
- Click Device Manager on the left side.
- In the main part of the window, locate in the following categories for all HP entries: Bus USB controllers, printers, imaging devices and other devices.
- If you see your HP printer in one of these sections, right click and select Uninstall. Keep an eye out as well for all that said device unknown and let me know if you see this at all (these are also well uninstall).
- After have removed all entries of HP, unplug your USB key and leave it unplugged. Do not reconnect the USB until you are asked when reinstall us.
Next we want to remove printers from the printers and devices folder.
- From your desktop, or drag from the right to open the bar of charms, or press Win key + C on your keyboard.
- Select settings in the bar on the right.
- Select Control Panel
- Under hardware and sound, select devices and printers
- Right click on each icon you see for your 8500 has (even if there is only one) and select remove an instrument, or delete.
Once this done, allows to make a cleanboot from your computer (this turns off all non-essential startup programs, so if there is another program running that interferes with the installation we can avoid it).
How to perform a clean boot in Windows
Once the computer restarts, try to download the HP printer install wizard to complete the installation for you. It will automatically detect your device and install the appropriate software.
Please reply to let me know if that solves the problem.
Good luck!

HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910 Premium will not send fax from computer with Windows 8
My printer was working fine on Win XP and I could fax directly from the printer or the computer. I installed 8 32-bit Windows (I am under an older system that works very well for everything that I use it for - thank you very much) and downloaded the latest driver for HP large & software for Win 8 32-bit. Everything works perfectly, except for the computer fax.
If I run the test of the printer fax, the fax test PASSES. If I run the test fax from the computer, the fax test PASSES.
If I put documents into the feeder of the printer and use the features of fax printer, it Fax beautifully.
It's only when I fax from the computer, the screen appears with the status of the queue, then state turns to cancelled each time.
He has always worked on Win XP.
The FAX and FAX printer driver for the printer-FAX appeared in Control Panel automatically when I installed the HP drivers/software update. All the properties of the FAX printer seem good.
I tried a usb connection and a connection of network ethernet, with the same results.
Printing and scanning all work fine. I really like this printer and I love it even more if I could figure out how to get by fax a document from the computer.
When I say fax from the computer, I mean opening a document saying print, select Fax - HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910, filling the page of information by fax, selecting my cover page options and press send fax. Everything like I used to do it before I upgraded to Win 8. When I hit send fax, it is when I get the popup that fax is in queue, then it goes to cancelled. No error codes are displayed, no clue as to why, no nothing. If I print the document and put it in the printer tray I can using display printer fax without problem.
Very weird.
Well, I spoke with some of the engineers, and they suggested next steps. First of all, here's a thread on a forum of MS on the removal of an alternate driver.
http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc730875.aspx
Another thing to note is that in Win8, you can easily access the command prompt by pressing the windows key and typing "command prompt".
In addition, I will PM you walk a few others on the removal of the remains of the software from the back-end of your PC. To be sure, you will need TO follow these instructions to the letter.
Do these two things and let me know what happens after the installation of the printer again since the direct download link I already provided above.
Let me know and have a great day!

HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909g: My printer is not wireless...
Hello! I tried for three days to get my printer to print something. For some reason, my HP Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-One a909g is not printing.
I tried to update the drivers to see if that was the problem, but for some reason that my printer is not connected to my HP laptop wireless. The connection for some reason any broke. Whenever I go to enter the WPA code (which is correct and yes I put it in place for WPA and WPA2 not) it keeps refusing to connect to my laptop.
If someone could help me please, it is something that I really need for my studies and we just replace the ink and Printhead and cannot afford to replace really. Thank you!
Hello
Thank you to try the Wireless Setup Wizard.
Seems strange that the printer is not able to connect to the home network. If your printer is close to the router, you can connect using an Ethernet (Lan) cable.
You will still need to install the printer software when you do this so that the drivers are properly configured i.e. non-plug-and-play.
Hope that helps!

OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909a is slow starts printing. After it starts printing it will stop for about two times and then finish.
Using windows XP. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Pleasetry switch to a different USB port on the PC.
Make sure that the bable is no longer than 2-3 m long and not via a USB hub or extension.
Try printing and check any change.
If the paper again impression and stuck, unplug the USB at the back of the printer.
You immediately see the paper of movements that?
If so, it seems that the USB cable is defective and must be replaced.

OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909a not print correctly
OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909a
Windows 7
I can't print now with my usual USB connection, directly from the computer USB for printer, even if another computer can print to it via a network connection. After printing, I open printer in devices and printers, there is a ghost copy to the printer and the printer itself is ghost, indicating that it is in offline mode. After you open the Quebec, the file is listed with a message "error-printing". I can remove the copy to the printer and to set the printer online, but the process is repeated each time.
I: restarted the computer and the printer, run the troubleshooter printer with no problems, noted, tried the USB cable to a different port, execute printing and doctor Scan and my computer 'sees' the firmware, printer and resettled drivers and restart the print spooler. There is no hardware problems - it will print on the other computer and copies, etc very well. I have not tried another cable because I have a step and assume if my computer can see the printer should work. One final note: there was a bolt of lightning about 100 yards away for the weekend. first thing Monday back to work is when I noticed the problem.
Please help, I did research for hours without success...
Tried the printer with 2 different usb cables to another computer and it never worked. I think that the usb port on the printer has been fried. Bought a new printer works fine.

In general we really like our new Officejet, but we are very frustrated by the automatic startup procedure. Whenever it is turned on, it performs a self check and then clean the print heads. This is awkward for two reasons: 1) we want to print quickly, do not wait for 5 minutes. (2) we are concerned that all this cleaning using our valuable ink.
We recently had to replace all the print color cartridges, and I think that one of the causes of the impoverishment of the other, it was all this cleaning.
We use HP cartridges.
It is possible that this printer is scheduled for an office environment where it remains just on 24 x 7. For our occasional use, we have normally turn it on when we need them and turn it off when we're done. If the consumption is low enough (less than 5 watts) I would consider let on as the shape of a possible workaround.
I did my best to search for FAQ and comments to see if there is already an answer to this question - but could not find one.
OK Bob, looks like that this printer is really designed to work 24 / 7, so I guess that's what I have to do. If I knew when I bought it, it is likely that I would have gone for a different printer.

OfficeJet Pro 8500 a Premium yellow will not print
I am not able to print Yellow. The quality of the print head is 'good' on my two print heads. I cleaned the Black/Yellow Printhead (which was dirty) and electrical contacts. There is no break in the inktubes. Original HP cartridges were full (although with all attempts to realign and clean, they are now all almost empty). Print quality report shows no white dark lines or gaps in the Test focus3. The reason for Test 1 shows and connected lines. Focus 2 shows not yellow, but without streaks white through any of the colored blocks.
So I think I've covered everything except the replacement of the print head.
The question is to know if I can wait that it will change the situation to change the print head or if I have to get the printer serviced - and, as it is out of warranty, if it means that the cost of the service outweighs the balance of the cost of obtaining a new printer.
What do people think? Is that what sounds like a new printhead will correct the situation?
Thanks in advance.
Hello Cherniack,
Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!
On the Officejet 8500 has not not printing yellow and all the troubleshooting steps you have done, I would say that Yes. Replacement of the print head would be your next best step.
Even if the printer is out of warranty, the print head may be covered. It is guaranteed is distinct from the printer and is located on the side of the printhead:

2. are you able to make a black copy?
3. When you upgraded to Windows 10 you would update the software and drivers for the 8500 JO so?
What does the HP print and Scan doctor find? I look forward to hear from you.

Successfully, I can connect an ethernet cable to the ethernet on the back of my printer port and print to the printer via the cable network. I can unplug the ethernet cable and configure the printer features wireless to the printer and print successfully on the network wireless to the printer. However, when I try to use wired and wireless at the same time (both running), it won't work. If I try to turn on wireless with an ethernet cable connected to the printer, I get a warning message on the home screen, indicating that wireless printer can not be configured or turned on when an ethernet cable is plugged.
Is this a limitation of the hardware printer or I have the printer configured incorrectly?
I tried to reset the printer default network settings and reconfiguration of network but still have the same problem as described above. On a HP Officejet 8600 A separate premium, however, I remember that the two cables and wireless can work at the same time.
Thank you very much for your help!
Hello
This is a limitation of the printer, either a cable or a wireless network connection may work, you cannot use two connection options at the same time.
Kind regards
