HP Officejet pro 8500 a prints the endless stream of white leaves unordered with a character on them

My HP Officejet Pro 8500 worked until about 2 weeks ago (it's around the age of 3 months).  He started printing constantly (a period that some documents are sent to the printer - I want to be clear, that is not in what concerns the documents ORDERED from any of the computers).  It prints a sheet of paper with a D in the first place of character in the upper left corner, then spit out the paper.  It keeps going until it is out of paper.  The only way to stop it is 1) turn off 2) continue to press the button "Cancel printing" (every 5-10 seconds) or 3) taking the paper.  Of course, it's annoying because while he was in fact trying to print a document (which comes out fine), it must load the fresh paper and lose several pieces so that the printer continues it's freak out before you print our document ORDERED.

Spent nearly 2 1/2 hours on technical support yesterday - it took 2 hours to MAKE IT CLEAR that the printer was PRINTING ON it's OWN.  Technology has always tried to "correct" the documents I feel (which are very GOOD, as I said).  Finally, I was told that a technician at a higher level should remember-, but looking at it through the forums, it seems that it's an empty promise and no point in waiting for assistance.

Any suggestions?

Well, as usual with something technical, my trip was winding and fraught with frustration.  After my post yesterday, I found some other threads containing possible responses.  Thanks, PrintDoc, for your suggestion and I'm sorry but I didn't see in time to try it.  Although I did reset hard on the printer (disconnect while it was expected from one day to the next, then re - plug inside), who had not helped.  The tech had me also unplug the printer, press 16 times, then re - plug again.  These patches did nothing.   Here is what happened:

See another post about printer problems, the solution was to change the printer port - so I started with that.  I had the printer ports pose problems with previous HP printers, so it seemed a reasonable solution.  Unfortunately, it did not work.  Worse still, it took my printer on the network somehow.  However, the printer still showed that it was connected 'Wireless' (geen light was on, the report states that all was fine)- but the router could not find the printer and the printer would not print.  ARGGGGHHH!

Then, I tried to re - install the printer.  Although the installation is complete, the printer still wasn't on the network.  I tried to play with the ports - nothing helped.

Meanwhile, the printer is spitting out unwanted documents.  As a last resort, I put the network on the default printer settings, just to see that if the pages continued to out - they did!  So: I thought it wasn't a network issue, but a printer problem.

Just like I was losing my mind, the advanced technology of HP called me back (as I was promised by the previous technology the day before).  He said that it was probably a problem of firmware inside the printer and take back to the store and exchange it.  I did (fortunately I had an extended warranty - printer is old and 2 months off the day 30 store the warranty period).  I got the printer at Office Depot and they were VERY nice about exchanging (plug for Office Depot here!).

I brought the printer home, set up (as you know, that takes a WHILE) and then had to run to an appointment in the evening.  I left, I tried the Test Page and it printed.  But I didn't count this trip as finished!  When I got home, the printer was quiet - no unwanted pages - everything was going well.  However, as I started dinner, I heard it starts... I ran into the office and - Yes - you guessed it - more unwanted pages!

OK - NEW printer - NEW set up - it was quiet while we were GONE from the House.  WHAT has changed?  I ran through the possibilities in my mind - I was sure I had checked the print spools all the computers in the House, but my son came from is on his computer.  I caught and checked the "Printers" section  Of course, our OLD printer was installed on his system and was probably spoil a new.  Nothing in the spool printing, but the port was likely the same.  In any case, I deleted the old printer and ALTO - him spewing pages not desired STOPPED!

Why pages continued to get out even after I took the printer offline?  Probably because so many FAKE "impressions" that had built they had not come out yet.  But of course it was not obvious at the time.

Problem solved with just a little detective work.  YAY!

I hope this helps someone else out there!

Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! I see when you print on your HP Officejet Pro 8500 a text is very large, so it prints on several pages. You have tried without success, some troubleshooting steps.

If you are using a Windows operating system, please try the following:

    1. open an Internet Explorer browser, go to the far right click on the gear icon

    2. Select Print Preview

    3. now along the top, you will see an option to change the size of the page, please make sure that it is set to adjust or 100%.

    4. now, try a test page, the text is expanded?

  • Officejet pro 8500 wireless print envelope

2750 old boy had a slot "envelope" in the output tray to make unique envelopes.  Which was very convenient.  My brand new 8500 had no such "slot" and it seems that I have to remove all of the paper in the tray to put one envelope in!  That makes sense to me, but I'm not just any housing "simple envelope" anywhere!  Is it possible to print one envelope with the officejet pro 8500 wireless without having to use the tray itself?

    Thank you

    DrBillS

I HAVE THE ANSWER THAT WE ALL NOW!

If you're like me: I am running Windows 7, using Microsoft Word 2007, and you have the Officejet Pro 8500.

I just spent the last hour on the phone with a customer service very friendly Rep who tried to help me to print without margins on an envelope. I have try on mail merge and include a return address printed in the upper left corner and a printed stamp sorted in the right corner. Whenever I want to print it would create a margin on the left and right side.

She thought at first it was a software problem with Microsoft Word 2007, because in his version of Word 2003, she could print borderlessly. But I then created an envelope in Photoshop and tried printing without margins. Once more, it would create a margin on the left and the right that was a little more "5/8 of an inch. In fact, the exact margin size is 0,6875 ".

Anyone else having the same problem? I'm sure you are.

HERE'S WHAT YOU SHOULD DO IF YOU WANT TO PRINT WITHOUT MARGINS ON AN ENVELOPE:

    (1) choose a new document in Word 2007, then choose Virgin doc 'LETTER' (no envelope)

    (2) a set of left margin: 0,1875 (Yes it's small!)

    (3) a set of right margin: 1.5

    (4) set the top margin: 2.1875

    (5) also set the bottom margin: 2.1875

    (6) turn the grid if you see your work area.

The grid can be enabled in the 'View' menu and then select the gridlines check box. If you hold down the 'alt' key, you can move objects (such as text boxes) without having to align them on the grid.

Create your envelope, then print. Essentially what you are fooling your printer to think you are printing on a letter for an envelope printing in reality. I need to print 1000 at a time, so it was do-or-die because I just bought this printer and love the speed at which it prints in color. especially on the functionality of the project.

    Good luck!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910: printer duplex option forget

I have the duplex unit installed and that you have used successfully for some time.   Are some time I tried to print double-sided, but the option was not in the print window.  I went into the options of the printer and found that the duplex was not checked.  I checked and was able to print two-sided without problem.

Some time later I tried again to duplex, and again once the option wasn't there.  I can reset the option, but very shortly after the OS 'forgets' setting.  Basically, I have to do every time I want to duplex.

This was not always a problem.  It worked fine until a couple of months ago (and Mac OS updates several there).  I have two Macs connected over wi - fi for this printer and Mac have the problem.

    Hey @alhurley,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I understand that you have a few options with the option of double-sided printing associated to your Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-One printer on your computer Mac OSX 10.11. I can help you with that.

Here's how we should be able to fix this:

    1. Disconnect the USB cable if it is connected.
    2. Click your Apple system and print and Scan preferences icon.
    3. Hold down the command key and click the icon of your printer on the left.
    4. Click on reset printing system.
    5. Restart your Mac.

Now connect the USB cable again if you removed previously. Otherwise:

    1. Go to the Apple preferences system, print, and Scan.
    2. Press the button "+" in the lower left corner.
    3. Select your printer from the list.
    4. In the box next to click on Airprint and select your printer from the list.
    5. Click on Add.

One last thing to do now is click on Apple, updates of the system and all the necessary updates.

This should fix the duplex printing option. If not then the next step would be to contact Apple as there is something weird is happening with your operating system.

Please let me know if this solves your problem or if you have any other questions. If not, have a great week!

my printer has stopped printing in black ink, even if the ink level is more than half full.  Ran "clean print head" and he ran forever.  Still not printing or copying in black.  color copy.

    Hey @ahornplayer58,

I would like to help you to solve the problem that you experience when you try to print in black ink of your HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless all-in-One Printer today. Thank you for troubleshooting that you have completed before reaching out for support, including. Right now, it sounds like you have a defective black cartridge or defective printhead. In this model of printer, you have two print heads. There is a printhead magenta and cyan and a black and Yellow Printhead. If a replacement black cartridge fails to resolve your printing delivers a replacement black and Yellow Printhead may be necessary. Saying that, there are still a few troubleshooting steps that we can try before replacing anything. Can I please you follow the steps below.

To start, please click here to access the troubleshooting steps. Once the support document opens please run through the solutionand four Solution. This includes all sub-steps under the two alternatives. A print head cleaning may be run up to three times to resolution. If you make three Printhead clean nothing helps, please do not proceed with any additional cleaning ink is used to clean the print head system, and you will just be wasting ink if you want to go forward.

If the problem persists, the next step listed would be to replace the black and Yellow Printhead. However, it is never a bad idea to first try a black cartridge.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 first print and mirror for treadmill mouse and t shirt

HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 first concerns.  I tried to figure out where the printer setting is for printing in mirror.  It is usually in the Advanced Settings tab.  I called HP and was told by 2 different tech, then supervisor that HP does not include this option in this printer.  I tried to explain how I felt it was hard to believe and I was told that it is most likely was an option that was no longer necessary.  I have his name and the file number.  I asked this bump up the level immediately above, because I felt strongly HP has not intentionaly left this option.  I digress.

    Can anyone suggest anything.

    Thank you

    Joe

    Thank you all

    Got it to work.

990 has not worked, 5600 had mirror but does not print correctly.

I went to the HP site and downloaded different drivers until I could get to work.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 a: printer no longer works after reset wireless network

OfficeJet Pro 8500 has, MacBook Pro, running the Mavericks.

For 3 days, when we added a password and blocked our router wireless (modem ATT UVerse), our printer is "offline" print jobs queued, but do not print.  When I go and check it says "printer offline".  Or in the print queue, it is something like "looking for printer."

He worked briefly when we found a power cord and plugged into the laptop, but will not work wireless, which he did before.    No changes except to repeat password for the network.

I have the manual and you have turned off everything, then return in the order recommended (router, printer, then laptop).  Always offline.   Can someone please?   Thank you!

    Hello @LindaGrace,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that since to add a password to your wireless router your HP Officejet Pro 8500 has e-All-in-One Printer not communicate wirelessly with your computer Mac OS X 10.9. I would like to help you today with this problem of wireless communication.

Now, make a change to your network, as an addition to a password or change a password, translates into having to reconfigure your printer on the wireless network. At this point your printer is to be 'blocked' access to your network wireless because of the change you made. To correct this problem, you simply raise the Setup wireless for your printer to "say" the printer network name and password. Once the wireless installation runs successfully all will continue to work for you according to the normal.

To run the Wireless Setup Wizard on your printer, please follow the steps below.

    1. On the touch screen of the printer, press the right arrow key () to display the second navigation screen.
    2. Press network () to open the network Menu.
    3. Touch Wireless.
    4. Press the Wireless Setup Wizard, and then press continue.
    5. Please wait while the printer is looking for the routers that are nearby. Appears in the menu Select Network (SSID) .
    6. Scroll the list of network names until you find the name of your network.
    7. Tap the name of your network.
    8. If you are prompted, enter the WEP or WPA key. This is the password for your wireless network. The password is case-sensitive.
    9. Wait for the printer to connect to the network

    -Source

Once your printer is connected to your network again, please try to print. If printing still fails, you need to add the printer to your Mac because of the connection of network new printers. Please follow the steps below to add the printer to the Mac.

    1. click on the menu of Apple , then Preferences System.

    2. click on Print & Scanand then check if the name of your printer appears in the printer list.

    3. If your printer is already listed, remove and re-add the printer to check the communication with the Mac. Click on the name of your printer, click the minus sign (), and then delete the printer

    4. click on the plus sign (), click Add a printer or a Scanner, click the name of your printer

    5. click Add to add the printer to the list.

Now that the printer is properly configured on your network and added to the Mac, please try again to print wireless.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

  • Cannot install Officejet Pro 8500 A910 on the network in my laptop Windows XP

    Resolved, not resolved.

I talked to HP technical support. The Officejet Pro 8500 A910 will not install on Windows XP (at least the home edition) when networked through a router. It will install via USB. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled with only USB connected to clear all printer/scanner of network information. Product support claimed it would install through an ether net cable connected between the printer and the computer, but it does little good if you need internet access.

  • OfficeJet pro 8500 a print only if first been disabled then

I am using a HP Officejet Pro 8500 has connected to a Mac running OS X 10.6.8 version - the printer will run only jobs if I unplug the power to the printer and turn it on, allowing him to warm up to print - any ideas on how I can get the printer to run smoothly while online? Thank you!

Ok.  Here are a few ideas:

    1. make sure that the printer is connected directly to your Mac, not via a USB hub.

    2. on the front of the printer, turn off the sleep mode.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 did print better quality nit

The printer does not print in 'best quality' mode regardless of the quality of the paper or the size.

    The error message is:

It might be a memory problem. I see in the print monitor that progress is slowly going up to 21% and jumps to 100%,

a blank page is pushed through, and the error message is: PAPER SIZE or TYPE IS INCORRECT.

    Hey @SamShan,

Thanks for getting back to me with your model number and operating system. At that time, due to the 'best quality' questioning and the error message "paper size or type is incorrect," I think that what you feel is a conflict driver on your computer Mac OS X 10.8. Now Mac OS x 10.8 Operating System there is only a built-in Apple driver update available for your HP Officejet Pro 8500 All - in - One A909a HP printer does not have a downloadable Pack of full function of software and the driver for your printer from Mac OS X 10.6 due to the age of your product. It's that she built in generic driver that has the problem in my view. Please follow the steps below to fix this problem.

If you use your printer USB cable connection to your Mac, please unplug this cable now.

Step 1: Uninstall the drivers and software:

To begin, please can I you click here to see the steps how to properly uninstall the software and drivers for your HP printer. Once the Web site opens select the drop-down list for ' Mac OS X v10.6, OS X v10.7, OS X and OS X v10.9 v10.8' and cross the two method: reset the printing system and second method: uninstall the printer software. Once these two methods were performed, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Check and repair your Mac disk permissions:

    1. Open Macintosh HD and go to Applications
    2. Go to the Utilities folder
    3. Open disk utility
    4. Select the hard disk volume, you use (usually on the left)
    5. Select verify disk permissions
    6. Once this process is complete, select repair disk permissions

Step 3: Check the Apple updates:

    1. Please plug in your USB cable from your printer to your computer
    2. Go to the Apple
    3. Select System Preferences
    4. Select software update
    5. Click update now
    6. Install your available updates
    7. Computer restart

Step 4: Manually download drivers HP:

Please click here at the bottom manually v3.0 HP printer driver package. Once the site opens click on the download button at the top. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the HP driver package.

    Step 5: Add a printer:

    1. click on the menu Apple and then click on System Preferences.

    2. click on Print & Fax or printing & scanningand then check if the name of your printer appears in the printer list.

3 perform the following steps, depending on you whether or not the printer is listed:

    • If your printer is listed, remove and re-add the printer to check the communication with the Mac. Click on the name of your printer, click the sign minus (), then remove the printer. Once the printer is deleted, click the plus sign (), click Add a printer or a Scanner, click the name of your printer
    • If your printer is not listed, click the sign plus (), click Add a printer or a Scanner, click the name of your printer

    4. click on the area of use or with the help of Print and then select the name of your printer on the shortcut menu. Make sure that your HP Officejet driver is selected.

    5. click Add to add the printer to the list.

    6. close Print & Scan or Print & Fax

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 is printing without my consent

This morning I found that my OfficeJet Pro 8500 has something printed during the night without my consent.  All our computers had been arrested or locked, and my wife and I slept.  This is the document that he had printed:

    HP ePrint mobile printing

    Get it started...

    1. go to eprintcenter.com

2 sign up and enter your code to printer:

3 customize the email address of your printer, add applications and more

It's something that HP is now pushing to printers, or is it something that the print driver on the system Windows 7 to my wife can have printed?  I looked online and I didn't know any information about it.

    Thank you!

Hi Rich, page you describe in your post is the information page that is displayed when the Web Services are enabled on the printer. This is done from the panel display front end printers and is not something that HP can push to customers as the use of the service requires the acceptance of the terms & conditions by the user. I am at a loss to explain how this page could be printed unless someone Vienna activate Web Services to display on the front panel of the printer. The reason that he printed late may be due to a delay in communication between the printer and the ePrint service. To connect with HP ePrint service the printer must have been connected to the internet via a connection, either wired or wireless. If the printer is set up to your home network wireless PC installed on the printer shouldn't be turned on so that the printer to work.

This is a link to a short video illustrating the ePrint on the AiO Pro Officejet 8500 installation.  This link contains information about the ePrint in general getting started with ePrint service

To disable the Web services on the printer, press the icon on the display ePrint , and then select settings and delete Web Services. Run this command when your printer is connected to the Internet.

I hope this information is useful for you.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 a909g - print from somewhere outside Tray 1

    Hello

I am a consultant and one of my clients has this printer.  He has a paper tray, 250 sheets.  There's also the feeder on the top where you can feed the things to scan or copy.

When he wants to print checks or envelopes, to remove the tray, take the paper and put in controls.

Is it possible to print these one other way or you have buy the 2nd tray accessory?

    Thank you

    Hey texaspete,.

The automatic document feeder on top of the Officejet Pro 8500 A909g can only be used for scanning/copying.  The mechanism for the loader doesn't have a printhead to be able to produce printed documents.

However, there is the possibility of obtaining a 2nd paper for the Officejet Pro 8500 tray.  HP no longer produces the paper tray, but there are 3 third-party suppliers who still carry the part.

    * The part number for the option 2 tray (tray of 250 sheets) is CB802a.

Try Google search for this product number and you will find many options of different companies.  I hope this helps.
