HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 more with Windows 8.1: failure to print double-sided

Hello

I recently bought a new laptop with Windows 8.1 software and unfortunately can not print any document double face of any program.  While I can easily print the documents double-sided on other computers running earlier versions of windows, it doesn't seem to be any option to do it at all on my laptop.

I see that this problem has been resolved with the older versions of windows, but solutions are not easy to follow in windows 8.1. Here are my stats from the printer and thanks a lot for your help!

printer: HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus

OS: Windows 8.1

Connected via wifi

Hi duneser,

I understand that you have a problem with duplexing in Windows 8.1. I'll try my best to help you solve this problem.

Because the printer print double-sided on the lower version of Windows, it may be the software and drivers installed on the Windows 8.1.  I suggest to uninstall the printer software , then using the printer HP install wizard for Windows to install. This tool will search for the right software and drivers to install for your printer.

Once you have reinstalled here is a document for printing on both sides of the paper (duplex printing) with adjustment steps upwards and double-sided printing.

I hope this helps, let me know how it goes.

Thank you

Hi @Mizia , welcome to the HP Forums there!

I saw your post on your Officejet 8600 more disconnect it from your wireless network, and I hope to help. I have some suggestions for you to try below which might help to restore the connection between the two.

    Try power cycling network devices:
Turn off the printer and the computer and unplug the router for 1 minute (do not press the buttons on the router).
Plug the router back in and wait another minute, turn on the printer and the computer.

Try the procedure described in this document:

I hope that the connection is when you have completed the steps above. If there are any problems, please let me know the details and also include with which operating system you use on your computer.

The printer will not print anything (including black and white which is my default setting), at least that I have installed a new yellow ink cartridge.  He says that the cartridge is exhausted and must be replaced before printing.    I have black and white printing color cartridges? Is there a solution? Thank you very much.

    DavidDavid salvation,

Yes, you will need to replace the yellow cartridge to continue printing. Here's a good explanation of the design of the print mechanism, and what is needed to keep them in good working condition. Your printer is user replaceable print head. With this printer's ink lines that need to be filled in ink in this way that the print head should not be clogged jets in turn cause poor print quality problems.

HP, as other printer manufacturers, offers you with permanent print heads printers requiring ink for all colors, avoid the print heads.  HP, like some other manufacturers, also offers printers with user replaceable print heads.  These may of may not require ink in all colors in print, even though damage may occur if the print from the cartridge empty.  Finally, HP as some other manufacturers also offers printers with the printhead into the ink supply.  He is replaced at each change of cartridge.  These printers will happily print with a diet low, empty or many deleted completely same models.

When you buy your next printer (from HP or from another manufacturer) be sure that you understand what is the type of printer and choose one that fits your needs.

It doesn't seem to be an option for shrink-to-fit in Outlook 2010, so I bet the problem is a driver conflict. Try using a different driver for the printer. I'll link the instructions below. Let me know what happens.

I have a cable modem with router wireless of my cable TV UPC provider called UPC Ubee EVW3226.

I have a dozen other wireless home devices that connect without problem to the router. But not the printer.

Please let me know what other information will be good for you to solve the problem. Or, please provide a workaround solution.

    I found the solution:

connect to your printer cable (you can use a direct eth between your computer and your printer cable), access the web interface and disable support IPv6 (let the IPv4 only verified): network > General > protocols > only IPv4 verified. Save and restart the printer.

In 80% of cases, it will work on the wireless connection. For the other 20% when it does not work, try to assign a static IP address to your printer (network > Wireless > IPv4) in a second time. Take data from your router (IP, gateway, DNS).

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 more paper tray will not go

[In the case of a post to repeat it is because I could not tell for sure one was actually published.]

Product name: HP Officejet Pro 8600 more. OS is Windows 7

First of all, I saw many possible solutions in Google search, and many of them related to the HP printers support blogs and none of them have worked for me.

Like so many others, the problem started with my change drawer to manage envilopes. Many worked, but now the drawer don't go all the way - it stops at 9/16 inch short to be completely closed.

I adjusted and readjusted the tray for legal size.

I shook the left and right drawer closing.

I removed all the paper and two sizing medium frame settings.

I checked the track inside and the slider on the status bar and see no obstacles.

I raised and lowered the ramp at the end; It lowers at the beginning of the slide.

By pulling the drawer I found a slight resistance during his visit to the position of 1 inch.

I slipped the paper-stop in and out and it positioned perfectly.

I cycle powered by the printer.

I can't help but think there must be simple somethinbg behind it all. Maybe a bit of lubricant in the mechanism?

    Help, please.

I was right - something simple. Me. It seemed that the ferry was going all the way because of the gap between the drawer and the housing. I thought it was a problem because I have sent to the printer of things would not print. I still don't know why, but it seemed to be a problem with the mechanical - 'print' in applications is dimmed. But now everything seems to be in order. My apologies to those who have spent the time thinking about my 'problem'...

  • "Scan To E-mail" configuration on HP Officejet Pro 8600 more N911g

It's the same problem reported by several other users of this forum to which no solution has been provided.

I was not successful to set up the scan e-mail option for a HP Officejet Pro 8600 more N911g bought 12 August 2012 and using CLP1CN1150CR firmware.

I'm trying to do through the interface of the Web server built into the printer from an iMac running Mac OS X 10.6.8 and the 5.8.0 HP utility.  More specifically the page under 'outgoing Scan-> Scan to E-mail-> e-mail profiles.

I tried 2 SMTP from different servers, each one works well to send the email from the computer: Apple iCloud mail service (formerly Mobile Me, formerly known as.) Mac) and AT & T Net messaging service.  I checked the server name, port number, and authentication login and password were all correct.

When scanning to email serves as the printer, I get an error message: unable to connect to the server.  Check the address and the name of the server.

During a test of the computer when configuring a profile of outgoing mail, I get an error message: the device was unable to send the test e-mail message. (EmailAccounts-timeout).

When I try to configure the page under "Settings-> E-mail Alerts-> mail server" and use exactly the same values as those in the e-mail profile out above, registration and Test option fails with an error message: the device was unable to send the test e-mail message.

Oddly enough, I am able to use the client to the computer with the option scan to the computer-> e-mail in PDF format or by e-mail in JPEG format.  With this option, the file is scanned and added as an attachment to an e-mail message from the Mail in Mac OS X client.  The e-mail message is sent via SMTP server even when I press the button send.

All the error messages seem to indicate that the client software of electronic mail of the printer is unable to establish a connection to the SMTP server.  However, it is unclear what configuration setting is one that could be the cause of the problem.

After further research, I noticed that there is another default possible values of port Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP):

    • Port 25 is the standard SMTP port number.
    • Port 465 is the number of SMTP over SSL, Secure SMTP (SSMTP) port.
    • Port 587 corresponds to the port number dedicated for a presentation Mail (MSA) Agent that uses a variant of SMTP, as specified in RFC 6409, which requires that clients are authorized and authenticated to use the filing of mail service.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 more black vertical line when copy or scan

HP Officejet Pro 8600 more black vertical line when copy or scan everything in the middle of the page

    Hi Clementstl,

I understand that you have a 8600 Pro Officejet which puts a black vertical line in the center of your copies/scans. I'm sorry to hear you had to deal with this, but I will certainly do my best to help you solve this problem.

I recommend the rest of this document of vertical stripes, lines or streaks in the Copies, faxes or Scans as it should be in a position to help to cross that line. The most common cause is a small spot of something on the glass of the scanner, so just make sure that when you're cleaning use you as much elbow grease you can collect

Just to clarify a little further, if the problem only seems to occur when you use the automatic document feeder, you'll want to focus your attention on the small strip of glass that he uses on the left side. If it only occurs when you use the flat glass, you want to concentrate on the large piece of glass he uses.

Hope this helps, have a nice day!

How can I set up my new Officejet Pro 8600 more printing on paper photo 4 x 6?  I'm running on Windows 7 64 bit.

It's strange.  Looks like you have a second paper tray and put it to the default tray.  The second paper tray only supports the types of paper that show on your list.  It's strange because unless you have purchased a second tray paper, plus model has one.  Does only the high-end model.  Other than that, only certain types of media can be duplex, so if you have double-sided printing, it can limit the selection.  I'll watch what else could be the cause and get back to you.
