HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a: Default community names
Hello could someody help me know if its possible to change the default community for all the printers?
This is because it is considered as a vulnerability by CVE
HP Color LaserJet CPImpresor. 3525
HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a
Thank you very much
I suspect that @jfba done refers to the SNMP community name, not the name of the printerto Windows .
I have no idea if this can be changed on the Officejet Pro 8600 printers; LaserJet 400 Pro M475dn, the value can be changed via the Integrated Web server interface:

HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911A: firmware
I have a HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a
Serial No. [personal information]
Product # CN578A
Service ID: 23174
Firmware version: CLP1CN1435AR
QUESTION: Is the original firmware that came pre-installed on this printer purchased on 06/23/13.
To be honest, I had problems with the operation of the printers over time, successfully resolved.
I am led to understand that a later version of its Firmware is available. If that is correct, do I need?
What are its advantages? How I did it acquire? Will receive installation instructions?
There are further problems with the new Firmware? Thank you in advance for your help!
ultimately, here's what happens: I had the chance to find a link on the site of "BD" that has allowed to circumvent the 'salary aid Tech' (involved only) help. For linking real chat... I got a tech, explained what was going on, he asked me to open Bitdefender a page says, asked what he's been selected... then instructed me to change about 3 settings. "BD" to close and reopen it... then try to access then asked me to test the "computer scan"... It worked like a charm! Apparently, BD software with the settings of the Moose saw an intrusion unauthorised and killed the linlk from computer to printer/scanner and killed the link.
Once, I didn't know what to do in the future, everything worked fine... I can't tell you how many hours I spent with other BD technicians and HP is trying to solve this problem. So, now I can place a document (etc.) on the printer scan window, go back to my computer open the link and the Voirledocument and adjust the scan size, part of the image, size and other graphic possibilities. Because by sheer luck, I found a link to chat with a technician who knew their product and in a few minutes (not hours) directed me to a resolution that no cost me $ $ no matter what.
Than k you, Lucien of Bit Defender!
FORGET THE TECHNICIANS 'FEE' OF THE PHILIPPINES... (FOR REASONS I will not GO IN, I'M FLUENT IN 2 DIALECTS OF THE FILIPINO LANGUAGE - TAGALOG & ILANCANO), EVEN WITH THAT HAVE TOOL, HP 'TECH' could FIND THE TOILET WITH A TORCH!

HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 N911a - two-sided copies
I'm eager to take a two originals face and make a copy of both sides. When I press the ECO button it says that this option is disabled. I can't understand how to turn it on.
Hello chogan
The ADF on the Officejet Pro 8600 N911a doesn't have the possibility to make a double-sided copy. This is because the ADF doesn't have a duplex unit to get the original in paper and flip so that the other side can be copied.
You can make copies front and back of the dumpster by setting the option and flipping the page once the first side is copied.

My new HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a does not allow a webscan
My new HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a does not allow a webscan on my laptop Dell Win7, which indicates on its Web page ¨that that the corresponding software is not installed". I already tried in vain to install all software from the included cd, but did not find the corresponding software. I was surprised to see that this cd does not start by itself, the single executable that I found was a setupxxx.exe and that did not include the scanning options.
Anyone has a suggestion to solve this?
Hello tutoke
The Webscan must be selected in the tab of the administrator of the Embeded Web Server (EWS). See the screenshot below.
- Click settings
- Click the administrator settings
- Check Webscan
- Press on apply downstairs.
Try to scan the image.

OfficeJet Pro 8600 N911a: N911a of suddenly unable to analyze HP
I have an Officejet Pro 8600 N911a who, until a few days ago, was fully functional on my home wireless network. I am running Windows 10 on my computer. Out of the blue, the analysis feature has become non-functional 2 days ago, give me a message on the printer that the function computer scanning was enabled on the computer. Unable to solve this problem through managing the digitization of printing software to computer section, I finally uninstalled the HP software and downloaded the full setting software and driver package on the HP site for a new installation and configuration. I have had no problem adding the printer and its connection to the network through devices and printers in Control Panel 10. As before, I can print without problem, but when I try to scan, the printer status screen informs me that the function computer scanning must be enabled via the printer software. My current situation is that when I run the printing software, it goes immediately to the printer configuration screen and then hangs on 'check the network environment,' let me do the software already installed. So it seems to me went from bad to worse, because I have more access to the software is of the other features, such as ink cartridge levels. I looked online for a solution for 2 days now without success, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Good news! Rerun the Print and Scan doctor was a complete and utter success! The printer is now on the network with full functionality restored, as well as for printing, as well as windows. Sunshyn2005, I can't thank you enough for the time and effort that you put into this! Thank you very much!!!

HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a will not print from Windows 8.1
I have a HP printer Officejet Pro 8600 N911a that returns the 72234 error code everytime I try to print a document from my Windows 8.1 desktop (HP 1520 t).
Also, there is a single instance of error code 74899
The same document prints fine on my Windows 7 Desktop and my Windows 7 Netbook.
Firmware of the printer is: CLP1CN1416AR
Firmware from the Support Page of the printer appears as: CLP1CN1322CR (2014-07-18)
What should I do next to be able to print from my computer Windows 8.1.
Steve
Note: This is the first issue I had with this printer that was bought a year ago.
Hello Steve, I hope you're well
Thanks for getting back to me with your info!
Yes, I would first of all, running the wizard of wireless configuration from the front panel of the printer (installation program, Menu, Assistant wireless network), make sure that the printer is connected to your network, then proceed to uninstall the printer, restart the PC and reinstall them both back on your computer.
I hope that this is the solution!
Have a great Monday!

HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 N911a, no PC Interface to the printer
Win 7 Home Premium, 32-bit and 64-bit PCs, wireless connection to the printer OfficeJet Pro 8600 N911a.
When clicking on the icon of the desktop printer, or to access the HP program in the start menu, MS Notepad opens the interface instead of the interface coding. It's a constant problem since the installation of the software in November 2012. The software has been installed on all three 3 PCs with the disc that came with the printer. All three 3 PCs suffer the same problem of no interface, only Noptpad with the code.
I uninstalled the drivers and firmware (using Revo) completely and reinstalled from the HP Support download site. The problem remains.
The interface of Scan function works perfectly in the start menu.
Other than that, the printer works fine when access to it to print from the sites, as well as the printer works perfectly with all functions when using the control panel touchscreen printer.
Any suggestions or help appreciated.
Bob
Hi Bobhist,
I understand that you have a 8600 Officejet which is not able to open the wizard in the printer on 3 different computers. I'm sorry to hear what is happening, but I'd be happy to help you!
I would recommend you have a look through this HP Printer Wizard opens with an error in Script or in Notepad and you should then be able to use everything as planned.
Hope this helps, have a nice week end

Cannot update firmware for Officejet Pro 8600 N911a
I can't upgrade the firmware in my Officejet Pro 8600 N911a. My current firmware is CKP1CN1416AR. According to the HP drivers website, the latest firmware is CLP1CN1322CR. I get the update to run and it identifies my printer, but it won't let me select it. I use the printer on a wireless network, but I'm trying to run the update of the firmware via USB. Any help would be appreciated.
Sunshyn2005,
Please provide information on this issue.
Apparently, the problem that your customers have is that they are wasting their time trying to update the firmware on their printers and after a few hours of frustration they finally know that HP has a firmware update file on its Web site that has a date that is much newer than the firmware itself.
HP should do the following to make the process less frustrating firmware update:
1. establish dates and version numbers in the file metadata which clearly indicate what firmware file is more recent.
2. keep the HP web site up-to-date with the latest versions of firmware.
3 Broudly and transparent announce to the public when an update will be made and why.
4. establish technology so that firmware can be updated on wireless links so that the networks do not have to be reconfigured to make the firmware updates.

HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a: HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a - Print when Fax is not saved
Can I do so a fax is printed when it is not registered?
I know that I can put to print and save every time, but I trust HP digital fax to save paper.
If a fax is not registered, either because of a network error, or if the computer that logs usually in is cut off, can just fax be printed?
@MrMeow, it's nice to meet you.
I think I found something that can help your fax dilemma.
This information has been in the User Guide for the Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one - N911a; PG 69.
Set up backup fax
According to your needs best and security, you can configure the printer to store all faxes it receives, only faxes it receives while the printer is in an error condition, or none of the faxes it receives.
The following fax backup modes are available:
On > The default setting. When backup fax is enabled, the printer stores all faxes received in memory. This allows you to reprint up to eight more recently printed faxes if they are always saved in the memory.
NOTE: When the memory of the printer is low, it replaces faxes print, older because it receives new faxes. If the memory is full of unprinted faxes, printer stop to answer incoming fax calls.
NOTE: If you receive a fax that is too large, as a very detailed color photo, it cannot be stored in memory due to limitations of memory.
Error only > Causes the printer to store faxes in memory only if there is an error condition that prevents the printer to print the faxes (for example, if the printer is out of paper). The printer continues to store incoming faxes, as long as the memory is available. (If the memory is full, the printer stops responding to incoming fax calls). When the error condition is resolved, the faxes stored in memory automatically, print and then they are deleted from the memory.
Off > Faxes are never stored in memory. For example, you might want to disable fax backup for security reasons. If an error condition occurs which prevents the printer to print (for example, tracks paper printer), the printer stops responding to incoming fax calls.
NOTE: If the backup fax is turned on and you turn the printer off, all faxes stored in memory are deleted, including any unprinted faxes that you might receive while the printer was in an error condition. You must contact the senders asking them to return the unprinted faxes. To get a list of faxes that you have received, print the Fax log. The Fax journal is not removed when the printer is off.
To set backup fax from the printer control panel
1 tap (right arrow) and select Setup.
2. press Fax Setup, and then click Advanced fax setup.
3. press on the backup Fax reception.
4. press on , error, or out of service.
Reprint of faxes received from memory
If you set backup fax mode to On, received faxes are stored in memory, whether the printer has an error condition or not.
NOTE: After that the memory is full, the oldest faxes, prints are replaced as new faxes are received. If all stored faxes are not printed, the printer does not receive fax calls until you print or erase memory faxes. You can also delete the faxes in memory for purposes of confidentiality or security.
According to the sizes of the faxes in memory, you can reprint up to eight more recently printed faxes, if they are still in memory. For example, you will need to re - print your faxes if you have lost the copy of your last draw.
To reprint the faxes in memory from the printer control panel
1. make sure you have loaded paper in the main tray.
2 tap (right arrow) and select Setup.
3. touch Tools , or Faxand then select reprint faxes in memory. The faxes are printed in reverse order, where they were received with the most recently received fax printed first, and so on.
4. If you want to stop reprinting the faxes in memory, press the Cancel button.
Please let me know if these steps solved your problem, or if there is anything else I can do to help.
I look forward to hear from you!
Thank you
