HP Officejet Pro 8620 does not print, but the document is sent to the printer without error
I bought a HP Officejet Pro 8620 and connect 2 computers via a wireless connection with the latest driver.
In the first computer (windows 7) I can print without any problem
On the second one (windows 8), when I try to print, I can see in the windows printer spooler file that I'm going to print. The file is sent to the printer, without error, BUT nothing happens.
I already tried reinstalling the drivers, restart the computer, the printer. I tried to connect to a wired network. It still does not. It's very weird but I got no error, just does not print. I thought that the printer does not work, but on the second computer I can print.
Thank you for your advice
Please download and run the HP print and Scan Doctor www.hp.com/go/tools

My new 8620 habit simply printed.
Scan and these images successfully appears on the laptop. Wireless connection is strong and recognized. can print from 2 different iPhones, but nothing of the laptop.
Print Manager and HP Web site so tell me the printer is online and ready, and is the default printer recognized and there is no problem with the printer.
Same printing page Web HP EWS but nothing else of the laptop may print
Running HP Print & Scan Dr. (about 4 times) and the test page does not print, but I can print the internal test page. Then say it is a software problem and uninstall.
Have uninstalled and reinstalled twice, completely deleted printer off, unplugged, ALL but nothing doesn't make this stupid boring piece of manure impression
Not sure whether I'm under Windows 10 32 or 64 bits. Remember exactly where to find this info.
Urgent need help I have work to do.
Thank you for using the HP forum.
Have you tried to install the HP printer software?
You can download and install the software FULL of HP printing features to win 10 (32/64-bit):
Once you have downloaded and installed the software, FULL of features, you will be able to print and scan.
Let us know if it works and what are the errors that you see.
We recommend that you uninstall before reinstalling the previous software.
Hope that helps.
I have a brand new 8620 and I use Windows 7. My printer prints a few PDFs but not most other PDF documents. I am using Acrobat Reader XI. The printer will print from MS Office.
Hello! Welcome to the @lmel forums
I have a few ideas that come to mind, I read the issue you're having with printing of PDF files. They are here!
1. try to resave the PDF files that do not print and then try printing again.
2. update of Adobe:
Select help - search for updates. If a new update is available, it installs automatically.
Once installed, you can restart a computer.
Then try to print the PDF file.
3. run the print and scan the doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for all conflicts that may be causing the problem. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there is a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results.
Restart the PC
Reinstall the printer: HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-all-in-One Printer series full feature software and drivers
That should do the trick! Keep me abreast of the results!
Have a great Wednesday
My 8620 Pro Offoce prints only in black except when I print a test page. I have a Mac running OS X El Capitan. I have updated the drivers so that changed with hp ink cartridges ink cartridges. I can't understand why nothing prints in color. Can anyone help?
Welcome to the HP community @Walt_1,
I wanted to tender hand to try to help with the problem you are having with your Mac running 10.11 does not print black when you use your Officejet 8620. As the test print black pages, we know that the printer itself works fine, and the problem is software partner. Here are some steps I suggest for you to try.
- Reset the printing system
- Restart the Mac.
- Click on this link, download and run the HP Easy Start to install the printer.
- In addition, to download this driver: HP v3.1 for OS X printer drivers.
- Try to print from a few different programs from your Mac to test printing.
Let me know the results if you please!

I have my 8100 Officejet Pro connected to my home network via a wired ethernet connection. I use Mac OS X 10.9. We had ongoing problems with the printer is accessible via the network. Whenever we have set up the connection, it works for a few print jobs, but whenever we close the printer, the next attempt to print always fails.
I just went through all steps to solve the problem. I went back to square one: reinstalled printer drivers on my MacBook Pro running Mac OS x 10.9; has passed through all stages of wired network connection. and now, every time I send a job to the printer, it fits like the receipt of employment and printing, but the printer itself does not.
The Billboard on the printer indicates it is connected to the network. Print the Network Setup page confirms it is connected to the cable network. Visit the IP address of the printer via my web browser also confirmed. I am able to print a printer HP Print Utility status report, so I don't know that the computer network and the printer are connected and communicate with each other. However, I can't print from MS Word, PDF files or anywhere else outside of the HP Print utility. Work is revealed in the queue, where it shows the status of each page completely 100%, employment disappears, but does never print it.
Help, please. This has been a problem since I bought the printer, and now that my warranty has expired, it's my last hope of fixing. I'm at the end of my tether with a device that I spent enough money on to expect to work, and it does not work properly literally since the day where it was purchased. All attempts to implement working temporarily, at best. Thanks in advance and if you need more information, please let me know.
I understand that you are now able to print from USB, but not on the network.
There are a few things you can try.
Connect the printer to the router with the ethernet cable.
Unplug the USB cable.
Get the IP address of the printer.
Click on the Apple.
Click on System Preferences, click on the print icon and scanning, select the printer, click the sign - to remove the printer. Then click on the + sign, then select the printer from the list, select the printer name first, if it does not try the driver airprint, (airprint is apple pre-installed with functionality of basic pilot) click on the Add button.
You can try is to add the printer as a Protocol IP to see if it will work. Go to Apple, system, print, and scan preferences, click on + button, then select the icon of intellectual property across the top, type in the IP address of the printer, select direct stream below, then apply.
Try to print.
I would like to sign up for updates from the HP driver. When available, you will be informed by e-mail.
Hope that helps.
My printer stoped printing of envelopes. This produces both in Word & Word Perfect.
What happened when you tried the steps outlined in this guide, the printer prints blank Page or does not print black or color ink? Also, have you tried the HP print and Scan Doctor?

I want to install a whole new 8610 to our computer with WIndows 8.1 HP's OfficeJet Pro and I use a USB cable.
I installed everything correctly according to the setting (green controls along the + "full installation") and the printer is set as default (also with the green check mark).
There is communication between the two because I can print test pages (head alignment, etc.) for HP printer app and I can also scan a doc to the PC successfully.
Despite the light the printer in the print menu, when you try to print, I can't any print file from PC to the printer, an email or a Word doc.
And what baffles me, is that I can see the printed file go into the queue for a bit of treatment, then it disappears as if it's done, but it is not an activity of the printer.
I completely uninstalled and reinstalled nothing doesn't.
This should take 10 minutes to Setup, and I just don't understand.
Thanks for your help.
If one of them resolve your problem, please write it down as resolved. In this way, others may benefit from your experience.
I hope this helps you...
Hello! Need help getting my new printer to print envelopes using a 8100 Pro OfficeJet running Word 2010 on Windows 7.
I'm used to using the feature for envelopes within the Word merge but in doing so, it tries to print on the right side of the page, but the trayonly allows you to center the envelopes (and when I tried sliding the envelope on the side, it prints twisted and cut the address as well (as if he doesn't realize that it is an envelope and not a sheet of paper.) Just trying to print a single envelope, not a 'real' merge and mailing. I also tried to change the value by default when the envelope prints in this menu, but nothing works.
I tried to move to one side only, retype the address in the area directly (instead of highlighting and have it automatically copy in the box) and has removed and reinstalled the printer driver.
Surely, there must be an easy fix for this.
Thanks in advance!
None of this has worked. You need some sort of disconnect between the printer and the word where it won't just simply print the envelope in the Center.
On the good side of things, I tried and am able to print envelopes using Publisher (after their model of envelope a little tweeking). It is not as smooth as to be able to print directly from Word, but it works. And will be definitely better than a handwritten envelope or label slapped on it.
Thanks for your help, Spencer. :-)
My Officejet Pro K 550 printer, has lost its ability to print blue ink, but I tried to change the cartridge. Other colours and black work well. Can you give me any advice as to what may be wrong?
I found some of my colleagues who have worked on this printer. There are some things to try, however, it is not all good news.
The engineer estimated that on the print head nozzles may be clogged for 2 reasons. The first is that there is only some residue ink. Here's what he said: "perhaps you can suggest to the customer to try to remove the print head (just the print head which has cyan nozzles), use a cotton pad or damp cloth to clean the residue of ink around the nozzle. Replace the printhead, and then do the cleaning sequence that the manual says. This procedure might be able to recover some scenarios of nozzle clog, but he's going to use up little ink. »
However, it may be that air took the print head: '. '. If the print head is deprimed, that means air penetrated in a certain room after turning on which can never be purged, causing not able to sink more ink. In these cases, I think that the print head should be replaced. »
The engineer also spoke with assurance of customer, who believes that this particular product is past its end of life, which means that it is technically longer than Hp designed to operate. I know that you only had 3 years, but you want to be aware of this.
When I send the print job from my laptop to the printer (wirelessly), the screen of the printer say an impression with a symbol of loading, then makes the sound usually makes when printing is completed.
But nothing comes out, I tried turning then once again, but no idea what to try next.
I've never had any problems doing this before, have the printer for a few months now without any problems.
Your software feature complete (the printer program):
File name: OJ6830_73.exe
Exit the: 17 November 2015
Text & images on lower 1/3 of the pages do not print on my 8600. I believe that I have updated the printer drivers and my laptop HP dv7 Envy. I think I checked all the settings - however, the problem persists. Any help would be appreciated.

I see you have a partial page printing problem when you use your HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one printer. I want to help you with this. I have some suggestions that might help.
I think it is a problem of software, but just in case, try to make a copy of the façade - if printing result is normal appearance, fine. If this is not the case, click here to access hardware troubleshooting tips from HP.
Assuming you were able to make a decent copy of the façade, we will assume that your printing problems are focused on software. Accordingly, I recommend you try the following steps:
Uninstall your printer
- Press the Windows key + r
- Type of control panel and press enter
- Click on programs and features
- Select the driver for your printer from the list, and then click on uninstall.
Remove temporary files from your PC:
- Press the Windows key + r
- Type %temp%, and then press enter
- Press Ctrl + a to select all files
- Press Delete
- Note that some files do not delete - do not worry, this is normal. Simply click ignore that you're prompted.
- Empty your trash at the end.
Download the printer Installation Wizard
Click here to install the HP printer install wizard (instead of directly using the printer driver). When you run it, this utility will facilitate what I hope it's a smoother and more efficient printer installation.
Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post. If I helped you to solve the problem, feel free to give me a virtual h.o.t. by clicking on the 'Thumbs Up' icon below and clicking 'resolved' (this will help others find the solution).

Have a great day!
I just bought a 8620 Pro Officeject and need to print name badges. I bought the avery 74467 product which is not a standard size paper - that's about 1/2 the size of an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. Unfortunately, the printer does not recognize the paper and the paper size is not listed in the options of paper or find a "custom" button
Any help would be great, I need to get these done for tomorrow!
Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.
I don't know if you've tried or not, you might be worth a visit.
Avery has a free software that installs in Office Word:
I just checked; the model you mentioned is part of the program.
If you do not have access to the word, I believe you can use the program online (on site), and then print the output on your printer.
The nice thing about this version of the software, once again, assuming that you have the floor, is that the output creates a Word document format (.doc / .docx)-no types of proprietary software.

Although I strive to reflect best practices of HP, I do not work for HP.
I have printed about 20 photos and color was great. All of a sudden the color gone wrong. Printed a test page and black, yellow and Magenta were perfect, but lacked the Cyan completely. All the ink levels were 50% or better, Cyan was 80%. Printhead status was listed as 'good '. All HP cartridges. There is problem when printing on Kodak Easy Share, later tried on Photoshop and Microsoft Word with the same results. Help would be very appreciated.
Hello @roger232 , welcome to the forums!
I read your post on "Print quality" issues you have experienced with your Officejet 8000, and I wanted to answer you with my suggestions.
I would recommend troubleshooting using the guide I posted for you below. Cartridges seemed its OK for me personally however, the problem may be with the printhead (s), and it is still possible with a good read to them (as you mentioned). Give a procedure and if the problem persists, call us directly to discuss your printing with HP options. I'll leave details below as well!

Happy Tuesday, thanks for posting in the community!
just bought this printer and I'm running it on my network with a windows vista upgrade to windows 7 32 bit computer. Impressions of all my other computers but not print from this laptop. All other functions work fine, scan, fax & web services. Tried the HP Print utility but does not always print. I appreciate all help.
No other drivers were installed. However I just discovered that if I set up the printer to connect to the wireless router work with my wireless laptop but she connects with the computers on the network cable. If I connect the printer connected to the router, it works with the computer cable and a new laptop dell wireless but not the other wireless laptop?
Initially when I would try to print, my computer would say the printer is offline. There are other people here who are print to this printer so I know this is not the case.
I ran several convenience stores and nothing has changed.
I also uninstalled and reinstalled the printer several times.
Now, the printer indicates as being online and available but doesn't happen every time I have to send something to print it. The icon of the printer at the bottom of the screen shows 0 documents pending, and nothing prints...
Try to go to hp.com/go/tools and download the latest version of printing and scanning doctor. After running the analysis, please post your results here if it does not solve your problem.
