HP OFFICEJET PRO WIRELESS 6830

I am now on my second HP Officejet pro 6830 wireless within 13 months.  Each of them had print head problems.  A tech to download a Youtube video for me to get my binoculars and screwdriver and disassemble the machine within the warranty period.  Fortunately, when I called to complain, they sent me a new machine with an another one year warranty.  I had other since last August, and last week the printhead is out again.  What is a constant problem?  There are two print heads, and each is about $50,00.  I only paid 80.00 for the printer.  Guess you get what you pay for. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Hi @kskhater,

It may be best to contact Apple to make sure everything is configured correctly and the necessary ports are open.

You can create a second admin account, is not on the privileges, it is to determine if there is a problem with your user profile. The question might have something to do with your printing system. I know that the issue is scanning, but the printing system, it's what the driver, and since we already have reset the printing system, Apple may need to reload, or the operating system. Create a second user account will help determine whether the problem is related to your account.

As you can see, at this point, we are at a stage of diagnosis, troubleshooting is the process of elimination. To identify the cause in order to solve the problem.

The printer when turned on, will have an open network, HP-Print-20-Officejet Pro 8620, even with the wireless turned off and connected ethernet cable. Through the HP Wizard and you are looking to set up the wireless, cannot find anything, because the wireless is turned off and that the cable is connected. The only way to cut the transmission network is power off. It interferes with other devices and is very troublsome. How do I turn it off.

  • 8600 Communication HP OfficeJet Pro wireless problem

When I try to print or scan, I get a message that the printer/scanner cannot communicate with the network.  The antenna network icon shows that I am connected to the network.  With the print and scan of doctor utility, I checked that there is at least a connection to the wireless network.  Address and logon credentials are correct.

The utility shows that there are 2 network connections - that I am connected to watch a 60% signal strength and the other that I'm not connected, a signal strength of the 68%.

I'm normally able to scan and print normally once every two sessions that require this functionality.

The HP 8600 has automatically been setup using the thah software supplied with the printer without any problems.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

    Hi hankbuck,

    Thanks again for the reply!

That's the good news that you can print with wireless devices now! My apologies for any confusion however, you WON'T be able to print wireless from your desktop, because it doesn't have wireless capabilities. You use just the computer to the network settings on the printer. You will have to plug the USB cable back in on the Office to print from it.

Hope that you're enjoying your day!

  • OfficeJet pro 6830: my printer has locked saying locked by administater

I tried to get the printer to print wireless, but now, it says that the service has been locked by administater that I can't do anything with it help

    Hello @yvonnefrance,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you want to configure your HP Officejet Pro Wireless 6830 but you get an error saying message 'feature is locked by administrator.

You should be able to easily fix by restoring the default network settings in the front panel of the JO 6830:

Menu Configuration > wireless/network > restore default network settings > Yes

This aid? If this is not the case, continue below:

The lockout is really designed for printers to prevent others to make changes to printer that could affect the behavior of the printer.  For example, to keep the date and time the Fax value see him exactly receive time.

Get the IP address of the printer by pressing the network icon at the top of the screen.

Enter this IP address into the address bar of a web browser on a computer.  Printer status page should load.  If you receive warnings of certificate, choose the option that allows you to continue anyway.

Click settings and then go into settings of the administrator on the left.  Many of the features of the façade are ordered here.  Make sure everything is checked except control lock.  Once it is defined, click on apply.

Power off the printer for at least 1 minute and power then turn it on again to force the new setting to take effect.

You are now able to access the wireless features?

  • Several problems: OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless

We bought a HP OfficeJet Pro Wireless for our two Macs and it has been a nightmare. I searched the forums and help guides and hope you can help me solve problems.

It takes 10 minutes to start the printer each time. There are many ringing and noises.

Once it's finally, finally upon it still cannot print. I then usually to reinstall the software from the CD using the USB cable and not wireless for its work, which it will then be exactly once before that I then need to use the printer, turn it on and it will not print.

I tried all the configurations that I can think of nothing doesn't.

Currently, I just turned on and I have a message saying the printer is low on ink and I can't print. I have used this printer exactly 5 times, and there is no way that it is out of ink.

I apologize if I look petulant, I have simply never had these problems with any material and am worried that we have made a very bad investment. I'd appreciate someone really can give advice.

I understand your frustration.  Here are some tips:

    1. do not turn off your printer.  If you MUST activate it offshore, it is with a power strip or unplugging the power cord.  Your printer will use ink (and a little of it) to start each time you put it on.  This is particularly true if the printer do not have power during his time off the power.  You will bleed your dry ink cartridges very quickly this way.  All the rumbling you hear is the sound of suck ink through the nozzles to clean them.

    2. set a static IP address for your printer.  Choose a number outside the range 192.168.1.64 to 192.168.1.237 than your HomeHub uses to deliver dynamic IP addresses.  192.168.1.50 is a nice round number.  Here's how:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-Click on the manual button IP and enter:
    for the IP address 192.168.1.50
    255.255.255.0 for the subnet
Let the gateway and DNS white
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

Remove and re-add the printer in the print queue:

    -Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
-Select the printer in question and click the sign less down the list
-Select the sign + to add again. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

If this does not work, do the same thing, only instead of the second stage, right (control), click the box of the print queue and select Reset Printing System.
