HP OMEN: Windows 10 fan HP Omen and the keyboard does not

Hello, I own a HP 15-5013dx Omen and I reserved a copy of the update of Windows 10. Since I installed the update, my HP OMEN control program could change aspects of my machine.

I used to be able to edit the variable my fan speed and the back lighting for my keyboard on Windows 8.1, now I can't do that.

It is a great concern that fans help to keep my calm of laptop for watching movies, surfing the net and playing games. Where I write this, I have a zero of my fan operation. No cooling that does so ever.

FN + f does not respond, I practically lost control physically and virtually. Does anyone else have this problem?

p.s. I deleted my Windows.old folder by accident, so I can't downgrade to Windows 8.1

Just make sure you change the model to YOUR specific model. It should be the same for all the omens, but just to be safe, go to yours in the link.

Problems fixed! Can close the thread when the OP is ready.

Hi, my laptop Lenovo T410 does not start. I hit the power button and looks like it is about to start. The thinklight flashes on as normal, the cd drive is checked, the caps lock on, then nothing/button blinks. No display and the keyboard does not respond. Power led lights up; If I leave it awhile the fan turns on. Can I stop the machine using the power button, but the problem remains the next time I turn it on.

I tried to remove power and battery, power 10 button time then with the power to 30 seconds, before replacing the power supply and the battery but nothing happens. I tried to use a different keyboard. I tried to plug in an external monitor. No change.

This problem appeared after I left it on overnight. I have the feeling that it entered into hybernation mode, perhaps, and that it disturbed some important functions which he could not complete. Not sure if. Any help gratefully received.

    Thank you very much

It's the original configuration of your laptop:

    ThinkPad T410 2522BF1
    i5 - 520 M (2.4 GHz), 4 GB RAM, 160 GB 7200 RPM HD, 14.1 in. LCD 1280 x 800, Intel 5700MHD, DVD, Intel 802.11agn Wireless Modem, 1 Gb Ethernet, UltraNav smart, secure, camera, 6 c Li-ion, Win7 Pro 32

I firstly the LCD cable or secondary LED could be damaged, but if you don't see anything on an external monitor I tend to think it's a motherboard problem.

Last thing you could try putting running a Live Distro Linux from a CD/DVD or USB drive, using Ubuntu or Linux Mint, for example.

    Hello

I guess you checked if the Tablet has been properly connected to the docking keyboard.

Have you tried to unplug and plug the docking again?
Note: there is a latch on the left you have to move and in order to remove the tablet.

Perhaps there is a connection problem.

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • Under Windows, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key option key when starting Firefox.
    • Under Linux, you can open Firefox 4.0 + with leaving Firefox then go to your Terminal and running Safe Mode: firefox-safe-mode (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi Brandon,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

It is regrettable that the PC does not turn on and I'll be happy to answer your query. Let me ask you a few questions to help you accordingly.

    • What is the brand and model of the computer?
    • Remember to no particular change in the computer before the show?
    • When was the last time you were able to use the PC?
    • Do you have Windows 7 repair disc?
    • Do you have connected an external device to the computer (except keyboard and mouse)?
    • When you try to start, you are able to display the logo of the manufacturer?
    • You are able to start the computer in safe mode?

There could be several reasons according to the questionnaire above for this issue, including hardware as well. Hardware and software configurations can vary considerably, there are several ways that you can take to solve problems that might prevent Windows to start (boot) correctly.

I ask you to follow the steps described in the article below:

What to do if Windows does not start correctly (information valid for Windows 7)

Notes: Please, don't try installing and reinstalling Windows section from now.

Important: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed after this date are deleted.

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

    Hello

I m not very familiar with this laptop, but I think you have to remove a cover of detroit that is placed close to the display cover. There you should find the two screws that hold the keyboard.
But if you're not 100% sure how to remove the keyboard, then you should ask the ASP for the detailed instructions.

Restore the system to factory settings via whatever the manufacturer of the laptop gave instructions/media/etc. * with * the laptop or on their web page for your brand specific & model of latptop.

It is * not * the Windows system restore - but something much more destructive in most cases - so have good backups of things you care about.

    Hello John.

You can read the article below to update the driver for the keyboard, and see if that helps.

  • Cursor freezes and the keyboard does not not when starting the computer.

Original title: I can not move the cursor. Why

After I log on the computer, the cursor is frozen and the keyboard is idle.

    Hi Ron,

-Were there any changes made to the computer before the show?

I would suggest trying the following steps and check.

    Method 1:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode and check.

Start your computer in safe mode
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

If the problem does not still in safe mode, then put the computer in a clean boot state and check.

Step 2: Configure the computer clean boot.

To help resolve the error message, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Please note: After troubleshooting, be sure to start your computer in normal mode by following step 7.

Method 2: Run a virus scan to ensure that your computer is virus-free.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Security Scanner warning: there will be data loss through an analysis using the Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate viruses as appropriate.

  • Fan is palpable and the PC does not

    Hello

I have a dell xps210 in the customization process, I bought an Intel i7 that does not fit in, but this isn't the problem I put my core 2 duo back in and my PC is running windows 8.1 and windows 10 with 500 GB of HARD drive, but after I put my core 2 duo back in I plugged in the power and when you plug in the power turns on and the fan is palpable for like 2 seconds but this time he put in operation the fan and it works at full speed and it lights I unplugged and plugged in several times someone please help!

Hmm, it seems that it could be anything really.  Did you follow protocols of discharge of static electricity when you deleted the C2D?  If so did you remove the radiator and the fan of the C2D for a reason, then put back on the C2D when you re-installed?  It could be that the thermal paste is not contact correctly and the system is overheating.  If none of this applies, I unplug the unit, unplug the processor fan and remove the processor, making sure that none of the pins are bent and is clear and try to put everything back in and locking down.  It could be something as simple as a card not in place or something.  Are there patterns of diagnosis on the xps210? Or no beep codes?

  • When I click on the Windows 7 Upgrade nothing happens and the program does not start.

This is on a Dell Vostro 1520.

I'm trying to reinstall an os upgrade Windows 7 32 bit.

I am currently using Vista 32 bit. I sell the dell so I formatted and reinstalled 32 bit Vista OS.

The computer was running on an operating system Windows 7 before the reinstall.

Now when I click on the Windows 7 upgrade it does not load.

When I try to open since the reboot it will not open either.

    What now?

    Hey, Slugger,

New installation leaves you a better overall installation,

    Installation custom own steps

You can use a Full Windows 7 or upgrade disk to do a custom clean install. This will remove all of your programs, but you can save your files and settings on an external storage before doing so. You will need to reinstall all your programs after installing Windows 7. Here are the steps:

    1. start Windows Upgrade Advisor to see if there are known problems that might affect installation and if you can install the 32-bit or the 64 bit version of Windows 7.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor

2 back up your files and settings. To avoid losing everything that you will need to save copies of all files, photos and other information that you want to keep an external storage device. Windows Easy Transfer is a free tool allows you to copy your files (but not programs) from your PC and then transfer them back after you have installed Windows 7. If you don't want to use Windows Easy Transfer, you can copy the files you want to keep on a USB stick or CD/DVD.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/Windows-easy-transfer

    3. find the discs original installation and license/product keys associated to programs currently on your computer because you will have to manually reinstall your programs after installing Windows 7. Depending on what you have installed, you may be able to download programs from the Internet.

    4. Insert the Windows 7 DVD in your PC. When asked "which type of installation you want. Click on "Custom (advanced)." Note: 32 to 64-bit requires restart and boot from the DVD.

    5. when Windows 7 is installed, you can use Windows Easy Transfer (or a different backup method you used) to restore your files & settings and use your installation disks to reinstall all your programs. Then you're done - take advantage of Windows 7.

Steps 2, 3and 4 are recommended for Dell not offering systems not Windows 7 installed at the factory. Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to check that all of your software and computer components are ready for Windows 7. This application will scan your system and make recommendations on what to do before the upgrade to Windows 7.
