HP p1606

I have a HP P1606dn which was printing automatically on 2 sides if I chose - until today.  Suddenly, after some updated HP asked me to install it, my printer prints on one side and told me to reinstall the book, so it can print the second side.  It is also not printing the entire document.

I restarted my computer.  I went to the HP site and reinstalled the printer driver.  I checked the properties of the printer and they are set to automatically print the duplex.  Without success.

Oh, in the past 6 months the printer as suddenly also turns off automatically as I often have to hit the power button to turn it on.

WHAT GIVES?  IT IS STUPID.  I don't need this hassle.

Hi @BvilleScroller,

I see by your post that you are no longer able to print double-sided and shuts down the printer. You reinstalled the software, select the duplex option and are always prompted to turn the paper.  I can help you with this.

I would like to do a hard reset to see if that will solve the problem.

Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector.
This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

I would like to do a system restore to before the update took place. How to use the Windows System Restore utility?

What operating system do you use? How to find the Windows Edition and the Version on your computer.

How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet)

Good day!
Thank you.

  • HP laserjet professional P1606: how to change static ip address for HP laserjet professional P1606 dn

    Dear Sir.

I have the professional printer hp (hp laserjet P1606) model, I have connected the printer to my router by ethernet port. Thus, he got a dynamic IP, that we know changes this dynamic IP most of the time and create problems. If I click on the ip address of the hp printer on the list of clients of wifi router. There is possibility to provide the static ip address for printer I did and gave a static ip address. a few days later the router has been restored and then I face the problem is I couldn't Ministry the ip address of the printer.   How can I access the ip address of the printer... because until the printer is not an IP and I click on the ip address and a printer page does not open I couldn't change the ip address or the type of static or dynamic ip... .the photos I have uplaoded...

    Hi @Tahir-Mehmood,.

I would say to restore the printer back to factory settings. HP LaserJet Pro P1566 and P1606dn - default settings factory restore printers.

Then, the router must assign a new IP address to the printer and you should then be able to again access the server built-in Web printer.

If the router assigns the printer IP address automatically, temporarily connect the printer to the computer using the Ethernet cable and ad hoc of the printer. This will give you an IP address so you can access the printer built-in Web server, and then you can configure the IP address again through your network.

I hope this helps. Thank you.

My HP laserjet P1606 does not print some pdf documents.  It is connected via USB to my imac (OS 10.7.5; Adobe Reader 9.5.5). My wireless HP Photosmart 6520 has no problem printing my pdf docs.   Not sure why some files pdf is able to print on the P1606 and others not.  All solutions?

    Hi @JL_MAC,.

I understand that you are not able to print all the PDFs of the HP Laserjet P1606dn, but can the Photosmart 6520. I can help you with this.

  • P1606: p1606dn factory reset

IP address = 0, and dhcp in manual position after factory reset.  Unable to connect to the printer to set up or print.  USB works fine.

    Hi @MJF2,

Thank you for joining the Forums of HP Support!

I noticed that you are unable to get your printer on the network after a reset. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

In order for me to help you best, I can get more information.

    • What has been reset to the default values, the printer, or router?

You mentioned "manual dhcp value." This means that you have an IP address of the printer? What is the IP address, you are affecting the printer?

    • If the printer does not get an IP address, you may encounter an IP address conflict. It's a good idea to assign the printer a static IP address outside your DHCP range. For example, some routers default DHCP is located between 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.200. So, I would use 192.168.0.232, etc.

Please see the user's Guide: "'Configure the network settings ' and the guide below:"

If you were referring to the router, not the printer try to restore default printer.

    Restore Defaults:

    1. Turn the product off.
    2. Turn the product on and while it is initializing, press and hold the GO and JOB CANCEL button turning on printer. After all, the LEDs are flashing, release the buttons.

If you need assistance, please let me know the instructions above. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck!

  • HP LaserJet Professional P1606: status is constantly stuck on "print".

    Hello

I have a problems with an HP LaserJet P1606dn Professional.

Connection to the printers web UI status is constantly stuck on printing. Once the printer is restarted there seems to be a large print job who wants to print. When the cancellation of the physical printer print job the printer is idle and then you can not print that print jobs get stuck in the queue. It seems that there is a print job that is stuck in the memory, but I have no idea on the compensation it on the printer.

The printer queue is configured on a server and is distributed by group policy. The directory on the server and individual computers spool\PRINTERS is empty so not stuck jobs that could be corrupted. Spooler service has been restarted the server and PC, but not luck. Print on both the server and PC with different accounts produces the same result.

Is there a way we can erase the memory of the printer? Or check the queue of printers in the UI?

Eventually the solution for people who could come through what I had to re-create what follows:

    * DHCP reservation (Gave printer a static IP address).

    * Deleted and re-created the printer queue on the server.

    * Queue deleted and recreated the printer on the client computer (GPO if has refreshed not this).

    * Remove old pot numbers.

  • P1606 that several copies separate

The printer works fine, BUT when I print multiple copies in duplex, if the original document has an odd number of pages, the first page of the next copy is printed on the back of the last page of the previous copy, making it unusable.  I need to print a first additional single page to get a complete document and I lost a little printing on the back of a single document.

Y at - it a setting that I am not aware of?  I can't imagine why anyone would want this feature, but no matter.  I just want to be able to do several print duplex jobs and have copies separated into a separate entity, not a single page printed on the back of the previous copy.

    Thanks for any info.

Try to install the latest XPS update and check if it helps.

Download the driver from the link below:

Run the file, type any simplified destination (e.g. C:\p1606) and click on extract.

Then, follow the steps below to update the driver:

    1. From the "Devices and printers" folder 'Control Panel', the P1606 right-click and select printer properties
    2. Open the Advanced tab.
    3. Click new driver.
    4. Click Next.
    5. Select the 'Diskette' button in the dialog box "install the printer driver.
    6. Look for the location of XPS file button or type the path to the XPS file, and then click the Ok"" button.

  • HP LaserJet P1606dn of duplex professionals second page prints upside down

Sided printing worked fine when I arrived at the printer.  Now second page prints upside down.  I tried to install the driver XPS that worked once, but not now.  I have at least 8 copies of XPS Laserjet P1606dn of professional on my computer.  None of these troubleshooting options on any of these working copies.  I tried to reinstall the software of origin, but in vain.  Now the only copy printer I have that works, one side only, is hp p1606dn copy 3.

    Help, please

Success, finally.  The application of service worked for me, after several tries.  I was able to remove all instances of the printer and re install.  The professional p1606 HP Laserjet still printed upside down, but after having installed the XPS (a previous forum suggestion suggestion) version it worked.

Thank you.  I'll search the app of congratulations and give him a boost upward!
