HP Pavilion 14-b017cl: follow-up on creating and using the USB key recovery to win 8 after replacing the bad hard drive

I have 2 hp pavillion sleekbook model 14-b017cl'. I replaced the hard drive in my son after that she doesn't have the "optimized hard drive dst test '. I used my sleekbook work to create a USB stick recovery. I followed the instructions to use the recovery to Win 8 usb drive. When I started the laptop of my son, with the USB stick inserted, I got this message.

PXE - m0f: exit pxe rom

no bootable device-insert bootdisk and press a key

Flash player Flash when I put under tension. I rebooted, you press F2, conducted an audit on the new hard drive, happened.

Later, I inserted the recovery key in my laptop (that I used to create it) and it would not initialize to top. I checked the content to the flash drive and they seemed "Chargers", so it seems to be what I expected. It seems that the recovery USB STICK will not work if my own laptop dies. What I have to buy the HP flash drive, or I'm doing something wrong.

Hi @gretschman7,

Thank you for your query.

I understand you are trying to perform a recovery from a USB flash drive, but you get the error "pxe - m0f: exit pxe rom.

"no bootable device-insert bootdisk and press any".  You check the recovery media on your laptop as it is the same model and it seems fine.

Looks like you may need to change the boot sequence. Here is a link to HP - performing a recovery system (Windows 8) HP computers that will help you.   Here is a link to a YouTube video which can also help:.  Performing a recovery of HP system on a laptop HP with Windows 8.

    Thank you
    Andrew

    Hi André,.

You can create new types of collection (varray/table) in two ways:
    (1) in the browser - find 'Types of data' > 'Types of Collection' node menu dropdown - there just 'create new collection type' it
    (2) in the types of data model diagram - you can create collection "some type structured" or collection of references to the it - use 'new Collection... '. "tool and click first on sight structured type and after the structured type that will contain the collection - new attribute is added to the latter and if there is none this type of collection already didn't set the new collection type are created and you can change it later.

  • How to create and use the database in the development of a mobile Web site?

    Hello

I am a beginner in the creation of Mobile-based Web sites. So, please can someone help me as I want to use a database for a website of the mobile base. How can I proceed further on this issue? I know what database I use and how a connection can be made to it and using what language?

    Please do not respond.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Richa Bhatia

If you are a Microsoft Developer, you can use ADO.NET to access the database.  This is because it is the technology on the server side and is running on the web server and not to the device.

You can create your Web site by using one of the web technologies side server such as ASP.NET, JSP, PHP etc. Any technology that will serve up to HTML will work.

When developing web sites for mobile devices, you will quickly realize that it is not a "one size fits all".  Each set of HTML markup will probably have to be customized for each of the mobile that you are eager to target.  And then, for each version of the operating system for mobile devices there are differences in sizes of rendering, JavaScript and HTML/CSS screen capabilities.

My best analogy is thinking differences between desktop browsers such as IE5/6/7/8, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari vX.Y.  Then multiply that by about 10 fold when it comes to differences in mobile browsers.

Have a Web site that supports all mobile devices with a set of means HTML you'll probably adopt an approach more common denominator based on lowest mobile device features, you want to support.  The alternative is create targeted for each mobile user experiences.

  • Pavilion series P6000: Configure the new HARD drive.

I install a new Seagate 1 TB HARD drive in a Pavilion P6620F.  What I need to clone new HARD drive or just run the recovery discs?

It all depends of what your intentions are.

You are replacing the original disk or adding storage space?

The simplest method would be to clone the current to the new hard drive, when you replace the original hard drive. Install the drive cloned in the same place where the Moose an and with the same connectors.  Start the PC and everything should be STATED as it was before, except that it will be on a new hard drive.

If you add a drive for extra storage of storage, it is simply a matter of conecting a sata conector between unused hard drive and a sata header and connect a power connector from the hard drive.

Once it is done, turn on the PC and log in to Windows.

Use Windows Explorer to create up to four partitions and then format the partitions.  I am unware of how space exists in the case ATX mid for additional disks.

  • dynamically create and destroy the custom menu item

I have a standard TestStand platform that I use on multiple systems.  On some systems, I have a few sequences of calibration and I would like to have the Update menu to have the RunSequence of these sequences of calibration.  I know how to manually create these menu items, but they are no longer valid for some sequence files.  I would use the sequence SequenceFileLoad to dynamically create menu items and the SequenceFileUnload to destroy these menu items.

I've played around with the API, but cannot determine the correct path to get to the create and destroy the custom menu items.  Does anyone know how this can be done?

    Thank you

    Matthew

Yes, see the online help for the members of the following APIs:

    Engine.GetEditTimeToolMenuItems

    EditTimeMenuItems

    EditTimeMenuItem

Basically, you get a collection of tool using Engine.GetEditTimeToolMenuItems () menu items and then call EditTimeMenuItems.Insert () or EditTimeMenuItems.Remove (). If you insert a you get returns an EditTimeMenuItem object on which you can change the settings.

In addition, since it has an expression to hide items in menu tool, you need not necessarily to destroy, you can hide them instead.

    Hope this helps,

  • HP Mini 110-3130NR and the new hard drive - how to create an image and use it?

I want to replace the current hard drive to my HP Mini 110-3130NR of a new SSD.

Ideally, I'd like to copy the disc hard integer on the SSD and then just swap hard disks (create a picture of the current hard drive work in the SSD).

Otherwise, I have an external USB hard drive, so I could save the contents of the original hard drive and restore the image in the SSD. The problem is that HP Mini doesn't have a DVD player/burner, and I fear that it does not start via a USB device.

Any help is welcome. Thank you.

    Respect!

OK, all these programs did not help ast all, they still have some problems with SSDS (I tried an Intel X 25-M SSDSA2MH080G2K5 and an OCZ Vertex 2 OCZSSD2-2VTXE120G).

This is so the fix for the problem, all you need a 4 GB flash drive.

In Windows XP, Vista or seven plug the flash drive into the computer, open a command window (type cmd in the search) and type:

    DiskPart

In the window that opened type:

    list disk

Find the number corresponding to your USB key and type the following commands, replacing X with the number corresponding to your flash drive:

    Select disk X
    clean
    create the primary partition
    Select partition 1
    assets
    format fs = NTFS
    Assign
    output

Then insert a DVD Windows Seven of INTAL, open the command prompt and navigate to the "Startup" folder in the Windows 7 DVD.
Starting inside this folder, run the command:

Bootsect/nt60 W: - replacing the W with the letter assigned to your flash drive.

After that, simply copy the entire contents of the Windows 7 Installation DVD to flash drive, drive to the computer with the newly installed SSD and start from the flahs player.

    Enjoy!

  • Is anyway to create fifth partition and keep the basic hard disk?

Hi, my laptop is g7 1207se Pavilion and the and HP has made 4 partitions (C for windows) and the other 3 for system files and recovery, I want to create a new partition for my files (so I can recover my system without losing them) or install other operating systems, but apparently if I want to create fifth partition I have to convert my hard drive in Dynamics by the practice that I won't be able to boot from any partition but the C, which means no recovery and no other operating system.

  • Help create the VM hard drive external

    Hello

I am trying to create a virtual machine from a hard drive that was in my laptop.  It is a 80G drive and XP Media Edition installed with a recovery partition separate.  (Gateway)  I searched a few threads and continuum has a very useful post:

    Hello
by far the simplest to do that involves a few steps

    support:
do it on a computer that has the installed desktop - allows you to call this machine adminhost
the portable hard drive is used inside a USB connected to this computer box

    Carefully follow them

    1. open the adminhost diskmanagement

    • find the usb drive and note that numero_disque uses it - say for example it uses disk3
    • Right-click on each partition and remove the driveletters are subsequently assigned

    2. open VMware Workstation as an administrator!

    • create a new virtual machine using option "I will install later.
    • Select Windows 7 guestOS
    • assign the same amount of RAM as the old laptop used to have
    • store the virtual machine in a path with enough free disk space - Let's E:\vms\laptop-import
    • When the virtual machine is created will NOT start
    • Remove the hard drive that has been created with the wizard
    • Add a new hard drive - select disk physical option and select the numero_disque looked you up in step 1
    • Select use "full disk" and save the vmdk as E:\vms\laptop-import\rawdisk.vmdk
    • do not start the virtual machine and close the station work

    3. open a cmd as administrator

    • CD in the WS install directory such as C:\programfiles\vmware\vmware-workstation
    • Enter vmware - vdiskmanager.exe - a help screen should be displayed
    • now type vmware - vdiskmanager.exe - r E:\vms\laptop-import\rawdisk.vmdk t 0 E:\vms\laptop-import\new.vmdk
    • a process of conversion should start now - let the finsih - this may take some time

    4. open my computer again

    • Open the virtual machine and modify virtual hardware
    • Delete rawdisk.vmdk and add new.vmdk instead
    • Start the virtual machine now

    5. look what he does at first start

    • disc read error, cursor blinking at the top left of the screen... This means that your case is trickiert what you said to us ;-)
    • BlueScreen 7B - good - all right - to setp 6.
    • the virtual machine starts completely - congratulations - you are a lucky guy and your laptop used an Intelchipset

    6 patch the drivers

    • start the converter 5 betaor a recent version of different
    • 'Configure the machine' Wizard and select the new virtual machine

  • When the wizard has completed successfully, you are finished
  • 7. If the converter does not... no problem - download or create a Windows 7 recovery CD and attach the vmx file to your next post

However, in step 3 during the conversion process it stops at 27% and gives an error.  I've attached a screenshot of it.

    Thanks for any help!

Wow - this XP is not really to be converted.
It has set up a strong resistance ;-)

Converter is a not - we tried to any version.
Finally, I had to use a LiveCD MOA and install the vmscsi driver manually.

So at the end of the day, the virtual machine starts and we are facing by WoodyZ

  • Creating Installer bootcamp on the external hard drive instead of the USB partition?

    Hello

I have a MacBook Pro 2012 and mountain LIon. I want to install Windows 7 via bootcamp, but my USB isn't enough grand (only 4 GB of free space). Instead, I expect to use my external hard drive. However when I go to bootcamp to create the installation program, it gives a warning that my hard drive will be erased. It is not possible to create the installer on a partition instead of him wiping the entire HARD drive?

    Thanks for the help!

Boot Camp and Windows supports installation on an external drive. There are specific exceptions in the versions of Windows, see Microsoft for more information on installing Windows on an external drive.

    Hello

You need two cables, one is a sata cable:

    http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/30305659/706331346/STARTech-com-6in-SATA-to-right-angle-SATA-serial-ATA-cable-female-SATA-female-SATA-6-inch-red/ListingDetails.html?_%24JA=TSID:13315% 7Ccat: 30305659% 7Cprd: 30305659 & kw = {keyword}

This cable is only for data and connect the hard drive to the SATA connector on the motherboard.

    The other cable is energy:

    http://www.itpartsdirect.com/STARTech-15-24cm-4-pin-Molex-to-SATA-power-cable-adaptor.html

It connects the hard drive to the PSU.

You can also buy a combo like this cable:

    http://www.Amazon.co.UK/DP/B00064GBT4/?tag=hydra0b-21&hvadid=9550951989&ref=asc_df_B00064GBT4

All you have to do is to connect the hard drive and that's it. Make sure that the main drive with the operating system is connected to the primary SATA connector (I think there are the numbers 1, 2, 3...)

  • can not get the new hard drive to work in the Pavilion ze4805us laptop

have an HP pavilion ze4805us laptop which had a total hard drive failure... recovery disks were lost in a fire... replaced the hard drive with a Western Digital 250 GB drive... computer recognizes the drive, but with only 137 GB... impossible to obtain the Windows Millennium disk to install... I have it get the PXE - E61 error code... have looked for answers and tried a few suggestions to fix the error code, but no luck so far... would like to throw this laptop and runs again, it was so nice all in operation. Can someone help me with this? Thanks to all in advance... rrcar6

At the level of the BIOS, HARD drive should show the full capacity regardless of the distribution, but it will be limited based on what the current logical block installed the BIOS supports.  For example, the 250 GB HDD Needs LBA 48 bit to be recognized by the BIOS in its entirety.  Western Digital only provides downloads of software and support going back to Windows XP.  Windows Millennium Edition is not able to recognize the full capacity of the drive.  Finding drivers compatible with Windows ME is perhaps another challenge that XP uses a different architecture than Windows ME done.

It seems that this laptop is the same time that the books mentioned in this thread.  Response from JackShack gives the best explanation as to why he shows quite different in the BIOS.  It has been many years, but I do not remember that the capacity of the HARD disk had exceeded what the BIOS at the time supported resulting in the 137 GB limit displayed in the BIOS.  This section of Western Digital shows that this problem is related to the operating system or BIOS supporting however, this should not prevent Windows to install correctly.

I'm sure it's already done, as it was not a new BIOS since 2004, but guarantee the newest BIOS is installed.  Logical block address 48 bits, necessary for the larger disks (larger for the time) was released in 2003.  The 2004 related BIOS earlier than probably took supported LBA.  What is the current version of BIOS?

What is the exact message that you get when you try to install Windows Millennium Edition?

The Specifications for the 550-306no indicate that it is not put into service for a disk hard 3.5 "2nd.  Review the information in the computer case.

Some models will allow a 2.5 "HD or SSD to add.  See the image below.

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 580t: SATA HDD recognized and boots with the 2nd HARD drive, but not without

    Hello

I have a Pavilion HPE - 580t with windows 7 installed.  The original drive (Drive1) has (according to Windows Disk Manager), a 100 MB system partition, a partition of 1 GB operating system and recovery partition.  The drive began to generate disk errors.  I added a second SATA (lecteur2), which has been recognized in the BIOS - it always appears at startup.

I do not have to implement a system of lecteur2, but re-installed Windows 7 100 MB partition using lecteur2 as boot drive (not a cover), and it works fine, for most.  Reader1 still generates errors and slows down the office, but if I disconnect reader1, lecteur2 is ignored at the start, as the Bureau attempts a network boot.  I have confirmed in Windows OS is the start of the lecteur2, not reader1, but once again, lecteur2 is ignored as boot device if reader1 is not present.  I should add that this was the case when I was reinstalling the OS, I tried unplugging reader1 prior to re - install, but could not do and still access lecteur2.

I tried to go up during the boot sequence in the Setup (F10), no change.  One additional thing - Setup (F10) is available that when reader1 is connected - F10 key has no effect at startup if reader1 is detached.  F10 Setup runs from the system on Disk1 area?  Any ideas on what I need to do to drop Drive1?

    Thank you

    David

I can now tell you 2 things on your system.

    (1) the original hard drive is 1.5 TB and that is embedded in the tattoo of HP.

    (2) you cannot use a disk less than 1.5 TB as primary drive.

Never seen a facility like this scheme start between readers.  The only way I see on this perdictament is to remove the 1 TB drive and let the process of recovery of re - install the operating system. Then immediately clone the original on a new disk of 1.5 or 2 t. Attention to not exceed 2 TB. Seagate and WD has a free program for Disk Wizard for cloning option.
