HP Pavilion 15-b162sl Sleekbook Hd for 500 GB SATA3 SSD upgrade
I wanted to ask if the model object supports a hard drive of 500 GB SATA3 SSD, more I wanted to know how to take recovery on the new disk partitions, so you can still take advantage of the restoration of the system from the bios.
Thank you for your support.
Here is the Service Manual:
See Page 56. Replacing the hard drive on this model is more difficult than the ordinary laptop. You must remove the whole top cover.
If you want to transfer partitions on the new drive, you must make a clone. Acronis True Image Home works very well and has a fully functional trial version of 30 days to www.acronis.com.
You will also need a usb adapter to SATA for this and you need to do a sizing partitions unless sure that you don't try to do recovery or system partitions very small or certain things like Windows backup will not work.
Post back if you need help most. Yes, you can certainly use a 500 GB SATA III SSD. Personally, I have a Samsumg 840 Evo 512 concert in my own laptop.

I could not find the drivers for win7 on the official site, so I need help.
I found some drivers for the chipset intel, intel hd4000, gt630m from nvidia video card and realtek network controller.

I would have really appreciated if hp would at least give the name of devices they put in they laptos, so if they don't offer support at least we could find elsewhere.
any help would be apreciated & sorry for bad English grammar is not my mother tongue.

I had a Hard Drive short DST failure on my HP Pavilion 14 - b109tx Sleekbook.
Product ID: D4B22PA #AB4
Failure ID: OK2B3L-6QL80X-MFPX1A-6OUDO3
Do I need to have the drive replaced? My warranty status is exceeded.
The error code 24 characters ( 0K2B3L-6QL80X-MFPX1A-6-0UD03) is a faliure of the short test (DST) disk Self and would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.
The player at the link below is an example of one that would be perfect for your laptop.
The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 62 of your & Maintenance Guide.
Once this is done, simply use your recovery media to reinstall the operating system on the new drive - this process is detailed on the following link.
If you do not have your recovery media, you can order a replacement set using the link below.

I would buy the "N Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter" and I want to know if my HP Pavilion 14 - b150ej Sleekbook supports the WiDi/Miracast.
Finally, I was able to get the "Microsoft Wireless display adapter" by a friend, it's WORK!
Thx for all the help.
I spent already hours online trying to find the right replacement battery to buy for my computer, and/or and agent of chat from HP that could point to him for me. I bought my laptop in 2013 and it is not under warranty any longer.
The model is HP Pavilion 15-b116sa Sleekbook.
This battery is not for sale any longer?
or I may be doing something wrong?
If it was sold is not, how would you recommend that I solve the HP 601 battery alert message that appears at startup?
I did all the audits recommended; all this looks like what I need is a new battery.
Thank you very much!
I understand, it depends on the reputation of the seller, I mean if it's the only way to get the battery try to confirm with the seller, IE if the 2-year warranty is really effective.
so my laptop has an integrated gpu, the intel HD 4000 and 630M geforce nvidia card which is the one i use the most when playing video games on my laptop. Suddenly a month ago I turned it on and it started making a noise from the fan and it doesn't stop for the weekend and the FPS has dropped in all my games for example GTA 5 of 40 fps at 10 / 20 fps tera 8 / League legends from 100 fps to 40... I knew it was because of the overheating, I noticed that.
so I took it to the hp customer service and they have changed the fan when I came back the noise stopped they also gave me the old fan and I could see that it was indeed damaged but the problem of fps does not stop then I thought that it was a software problem, I erased all of the nvidia drivers and not reinstalled the latest version again no solution all this time I'd win 10 I did a factory reset my laptop which came to windows 8 I installed the drivers again and still the same problem.
hope you guys can help me and thanks in advance
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!
I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question on your HP Pavilion 15-b196sl Sleekbook and problems with the fan works not properly. I recommend to restore the default BIOS settings. You could restore the BIOS with this document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings. In this way he will focus on the hardware installed on the laptop and reset the default fan.
Here is a document that could be of assistance to you.
Please let me know how it goes.

My Pavilion TS 14 Sleekbook running Windows 8 made two updates today this restart required for both. I do not know what updates I updated important updates to autoload. When I tried to "flip" to enter my password to open my lock screen, the screen is nothing but show the waves of energy around my finger. Use the keyboard to open the password page. Tried to go back from the touchscreen keyboard, nothing. Standard keyboard used to type in password, then the touch screen works very well. Someone has an idea of what's going on?
Not a hard reset will not affect your files at all. If this does not work please reply back with your product number.
I have a HP Pavilion b101sd-15 Sleekbook and my HDMI port does not work.
I have already updated all my drivers, but this makes no sense.
I hope there's someone on this forum who can help me.--------------------
Thanks for your reply.
But it is just fixed.
I contacted HP Customer Service and they helped me.
They said there was another driver to installed on windows 7.
This driver is included in windows 8.
So and I installed windows 7 foor school.
My Windows 7 HP Pavilion, model 520-1040 with a touchscreen was sold to me in July by Harvey Norman - as well as advice that it was designed in preparation for Windows 8.
Today on the HP site I checked for more information on the upgrade to Windows 8.
After I entered the product number of the computer, QU392AA #ABG, I received the message that "HP has not tested this PC" and told me that if I switch to Windows 8, I can lose nombreauses & stability.
Does anyone know if or when HP will address this issue?
The models tested HP and drivers for computers built after seven of 2011. It sounds as if your model has been built in this period (even if the model you provided pulled up a touchsmart). When Windows 8 release, make sure to run Windows Update after installation. Windows Update provides drivers and firmwire provided to Microsoft by the manufacturer.

I just got the laptop, but I don't know if I am able to scroll using the touchpad. If so, I don't know how to enable that.

I saw your post about scrolling with the touchpad. You can scroll with the touchpad. I have a link below on the use of the TouchPad which includes a section on scrolling that will show you how to use and configure.
How will I know what SATA (1, 2 or 3) that supports my Pavilion Elite 137c. I want to add an SSD that says he uses a SATA-3 interface.
You are the very welcome.
I think it'll do the trick.
I added a 330 Intel SSD SATA III in my HP Elitebook 6930p business book, which has the Mobile Intel 4 series chipset, also SATA II controllers, and subjectively, it makes a very nice improvement upon startup and access time.
I subjectively, because I have not run before and after calibration of performance tests.
The mechanical hard drive was a high-end drive for laptop Western Digital 7 200 rpm, not a reader laptop slow poke 5 400 rpm. I had no problem saying that the high-performance SSD.
If you put any credibility in the Windows experience index scores, the mechanical hard drive had the score 5.9 max, that you can get with a mechanical hard drive and SSD hostage up to 7.6.
How to format FAT32 file system for 500 GB Seagate external hard drive using Windows Vista?
Windows will work generally only format a drive in FAT 32 if it has a capacity of 32GB, no more. To format in FAT32, Yes, would need to create multiple partitions. This, of course, you don't want to do.
I have not tried to format a large drive in FAT 32 but I guess that any third-party partitioning software (Acronis, Paragon etc.) would be able to do it without any problem. Alternatively you can do it from the Windows command prompt. For more details, see the link below:
