  There are two options available.

  1. you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

  2 another option, if you came to laptop with Windows 7, you might consider is to create your own installation disc.

  Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

  You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( must be the same version - i.e. Home Premium.) Professional etc. - initially supplied with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  The source of the Image is Digital River.

• HP Pavilion 23xi stuck button

  Several months ago I had my Pavilion 23xi monitor, and until now, I was happy with it. However, I'm back after about a week, and the source control button seems to be stuck. The control of Source code on the OSD screen is on the display, and the selector is constantly moving upward. I have found I can hold another button to stop it temporarily, but she starts just to the top once again as soon as I release it. Additionally, none of the buttons work except OK. I checked, and the real source control button is not depressed and can be pushed as easily as the other buttons. Does anyone know a fix for this problem?

  I want to save the file, I need desktop page, then unpack it from there. If your laptop shows you that the file already exists ' click on ' the box that says "Yes to all", let it install and reboot your machine.

• Pavilion dv6636 stuck in a reboot loop with no boot

  I have a Pavilion dv6636 purchased on Oct / 2007 which saw a reboot loop with no boot. By pressing the Start button, I can see the hood leds on, power on (as well as the port for illuminated around blue AC adapter), HD led being turned on once and can hear the pilot DVD is powered and the fan turns, then, after about 10 seconds (while the screen is always black), he stops, remains off for 5 sec , then restarts, stuck in this loop. Experiences I've already done:
  -hard reset
  -reset of memory
  -stable memory locations
  -exchanged memories
  -started with memories (sounded a beep as expected)
  -had started with HD (continued with the same symptoms)
  -F8 or F2 keys pressed during startup (black screen and continued with the same symptoms)
  -F10 key during startup (by pressing F10, it does not shut down as usually does, but rest died, with black screen and rotation of the fan)
  -external monitor plugged in when you start (black screen and continued with the same symptoms)

  Same question occurred in about 4 months ago, but at that time, after break of a week I tried to start and has been a success. Not at the moment.

  Please, any thoughts of what could be the problem?

  I got and my laptop is working normally after failed BIOS by following the steps you suggested.

  Now, I have updated the BIOS by the F32 (current release) version and is running successfully.

  I buyed a new VGA, a Gigabyte GT740 2 GB DDR5, before I had an Asus GT630 2 GB of DDR3 memory and had no problem with it.

  After you mount the new VGA, I noticed that the computer gets stuck to the initial start with the HP logo screen.

  Can't even get to the BIOS, but if I remove the card and use the igpu it is all ok.

  I tried to update the bios with the latest version on the HP website (v.7.15) and nothing.

  Tried to install it with Windows 8.1 and windows 7, nothing.

  Hi, I did a hard job looking for a solution, and after a while, I found a solution. The solution to the problem was a little easy, but at the same time a bit funny too, hehehe.

Then I tried power the computer nothing do but simply by pressing the power button without the battery in it. The laptop ran using cable ca, and then I was able to use the windows. Its perfect work.   Now what do me? Should I replace the battery, I get error 601 (main battery) too. So should I replace it with a new one? I hope that it will be more preferable.

  I have no idea. Hold the power button after that 15-20 seconds should turn off anything.

  You don't specify what is the complete model number, so I guess that you have.

  In General, the removable flag should allow you to disconnect the battery manually.

  I understand that you did recently resumed, reinstall your original Windows 7 with the help of HP.  You were then installation updated drivers when the laptop froze and the only thing you could do was power, it works. You then reinstalled Windows 7 again, but can not install other programs or your personal documents.

  Have you tested for hardware failures? Screening of hardware failures (Windows 7, Vista )

  The button mute on my Pavilion dv4 1430us is stuck on red, and no sound comes out of the speakers. Sound will come with headphones. When I hit the mute button, it will not change to blue.   I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion dv4-1430us Notebook and stuck volume knob and does not properly. Here is a link to the HP Quick Launch Buttons that might help.

  After running the update make sure you restart your laptop. Here is a documentto troubleshoot the sound if necessary.

  Please, don't have headset connected when you perform troubleshooting.

  I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion dv6-6c10us Entertainment Notebook and problems with the laptop being stuck on the startup screen. Try to make a hard reset.

  When you perform a hard reset note remove all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices.

  Here is a link to computer does not start for Windows.

  Plug the adapter directly into a different wall socket. Do not connect it a power strip, surge arrester, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.

Today, I put a DVD in my optical drive and when I heard it turns, I ejected the drive, but the drive is now stuck to the INSIDE of my computer... Please help!  The Player opens and closes without any problem... where's my drive?   How can I safely remove the optical drive in order to take out the drive? I don't want to damage the disc, because it contains irreplaceable photos.

  It must always be inside the optical drive. It is a closed box. Turn the laptop on the back, open the service Bay and search a single screw with an icon of DVD player next to him. Remove the screws and the DVD player should slide out of the chassis with a little help by behind with a flat blade screwdriver. Pages 47-49 in this manual shows how.

  Once the disc is out of the chassis, you can use the pin hole to open it with a folded-out paperclip. Completely open and you should be able to see the drive in there to remove it.

• Pavilion dv6: hard disk gets stuck in a "loop", the private resources applications

  I have a HP Pavilion dv6 (dv6-6145dx) with 4 GB of RAM and Windows 7 x 64 installed, 500 Gb HD (Hitachi , 40% brand free).  It worked very well for a time very, very long time.  Recently installed Office 365 month last for professional use, which I was concerned might be a resource hog, but usually works very well.  I also AVAST! Antivirus Pro is installed.

  Last week, I started noticing a strange problem that I had not seen before.  Some applications have become desensitized.  I noticed the hard drive light was constantly.  So I tried to close some applications (including Outlook), thinking that I was running resources.  But the deadlock problem continues.

  Listening to the hard drive, I could hear this "stuck in a loop.  Something like "click-[bunch of quick clicks] - click-click-[break].  Repeats every 2 seconds.  Continues to go on and on.  If I leave the computer alone for about 15 ~ 20 minutes, I discover it has recovered.  But once I run the intensive program of any disk, this repeats itself.  It doesn't matter if it's a 3rd team application or system (such as the launch of Event Viewer).

  To try to limit this, I started in safe mode with network.  I thought that if it was driver related, it wouldn't happen.  I launch the event viewer and still, the loop of the hard drive goes.  All gloomy.

  My antivirus is up to date. I ran a full scan of the system (F2) and no errors.  I ran the monitor resources and Process Explorer in the hope of identifying what that either method was this... couldn't see just guilty.  I also created a new user and logged in with this account... has always been able to experience this problem.  It is therefore not associated user account.

  I'm at my wit's end.  I am grateful that I have another computer I can use, but this should not be the case.

  Anyone who is familiar with this kind of hard disk behavior consumes resources?

  I ran another system test and eventually got more details:

  "Disk hard Test" failed

  "Fast hard disk 1" (303)

  "Complete hard drive 1" (305)

  OK, so from what I've found, it's a serious error means that the hard drive has failed.

  He is a computer 4 years.  I never had a hard disk failure in a laptop before, and I had many laptops up to nearly 8 years, without any hard drive problem.  The drive inside is manufactured by Hitachi... they don't exactly have the best reputation.  Anyway, all the research that I have met never goes into detail as to what might have caused the failure and if some readers have a reliability problem.  The answer is always "you need to replace your hard drive."

  Anyway, I will not try to diagnose it further.  I send my laptop in for repair (still under warranty - exhausted soon, phew!).
