HP Pavilion 17 Laptop: left click works not only press keyboard

My laptop is brand new. When I use the keyboard, I can't click on the left side of the mouse. It does not work the touchpad or a usb mouse. I can move the mouse, but it does not left-click while press keyboard. Left click to work just the keys 'Ctrl', 'Alt' and 'Shift' when I use the keyboard.  Now I removed the synaptic driver, but it still continues.  I'm waiting for your help.

Hello @Turrin,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems, with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked into your question your and the mouse doesn't work does not correctly. Here is a document on how to troubleshoot mouse and touchpad.

If you go to the onTroubleshooting section when the TouchPad does not work it should help solve the problem.

You can try to use the Windows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows 10.  Please restart the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed!

Please let me know how it goes.

Thank you.

Have you installed the drivers for W7 32 bit amd chipset?

If this isn't the case, you must install them and reboot the PC to get the 3 for usb ports work.

You want the first file on the Web page.

go to the Panel Manager or control device and enter the parameters for the MOUSE.

REDUCE the 'double click speed' and unique clicks will reduce too. so now, left click works correctly.

  • Have a new computer running Windows 7. Microsoft 4000 wireless mobile mouse: left click does not work, can not solve the problem.

Have a new laptop with Windows 7, ASUS Intel-i5. Initially, the automatic installation of my Wireless mobile mouse 4000, which I had used with XP, has worked. Only problem was that the mouse was stubborn, when you attempt to left click: i.e. get something - and persistence was needed to get there. Now I can not at all to a left click. Tried all resolution of known issues, left click procedures still dead in the water.

Anything with moving parts end up by wears.  I've had several byte the dust.  Speaking of the dust, maybe the dust and mold were inside.  Invest $4 and find out.

  • CTRL + left click does not work for me, so I can't open the link in a new tab using this shortcut!

When I press ctrl + left click on a link, nothing happens. The only way to open a link in a new tab is by right clicking, which is not very practical

I had this problem as well. I reduced to a conflict between two of my addons. In my case, Tab Mix Plus v0.3.8.6 and GreaseMonkey v0.9.10. Then, I checked the sites for these two addons and discovered that this is a known issue and will be fixed in GreaseMonkey v0.9.11 (which apparently is in beta at the moment).

For those of you experience this problem, check if your addons may be causing it.

  • laptop left click button dropped

    Hello.

On my laptop, just below the touchpad, there is a right and a left click button (as you know).

The other day, the left button makes a click noise and decreased very slightly lower than the right button (about a millimeter - and it's always like that now). It still works, but now, it makes a different sound to when you press the right key and not the same sound she used before. It was the loud noise and quiet, now it's tone is much higher and stronger (like two needles to knit together listen very softly).

This is a worrying sign. Or is it something that is not likely to be worse (by which I want to elaborate key down, or even stop working).

    Dave.

    Hello

The touchpad works with a fresh operating system from Toshiba DVD recovery?
I mean to find out if this problem may be related to the hardware or software problem.
I've been reading about the touchpad problems after installation of the software or mouse driver
So it would be very interesting to known if the touchpad issues and strange behavior also seems to be using a new, freshly reinstalled the operating system.

  • CTRL + left click is not always the same as the Middle-click

CTRL-click is supposed to open a new tab, but this does not always happen. For example in a YouTube channel, a video in the sidebar (or right-clicking and selecting new tab) Middle-click opens the video in a new tab, but ctrl-click opens in the current tab. Y at - it a fix for this?

These links are that JavaScript links (according to elegant), which do not respond the same as ordinary hyperlinks.

I have a userstyle installed in Firefox that adds a 'J' cursor 'hand' on most of the JavaScript links, and tells me that I need to way - click on these links - cause {Ctrl + click} will not work.

  • HP Pavilion 15 laptop: Headphone Jack works sometimes?

My headphone works sometimes only. I'll get my wired headset and I can hear everything perfectly clear, but if I leave the laptop on overnight or leave for 30 minutes, I hear nothing more.

I checked to make sure that the headphone jack is the audio device by default and the earphone works perfectly fine, so I don't see what the problem.

The only way to solve the problem, as far as I understand, is to just restart the phone whenever the problem occurs, and it works. But I'd rather not have to restart every time this problem occurs. I also do not have to send the laptop.

    @polarpower,

Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums.  There are only two things that can cause for your problem of making head phone.  When the system goes and warms the chips that handle the audio channel enter a blocking state as soon as this happens her loose.  As soon as you restart the voltage on the chips are erased and will work very well until things warm up again and the right signal is applied to this chip to block again.

You can try to backup all your data and perform a recovery of the system so that tha system goes back to its original configuration.  It will be deleted including updates which could have caused this.

Even though this is listed as Windows 8 you can use for Windows 10.

Failure to resolve the issue, you will need to send in for repair.  Use the following link to help you contact the appropriate HP support department.

Please let me know how things are going with this.  Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

  • Aspire V3 - 771g - Tap/left click on delay after pressing the keys on the keyboard (some keys only)

It is a strange problem that I have, I got the laptop computer now for a month or two, and I'm sure it makes it I got it. The problem is pretty much the title. I can't press the letters or numbers and then left click without a 1 second or so delay, I also can not left click at all if I hold down without letting go of taken, once I do the delay still occurs. I can press the keys of arrows then left click without thin delay (where left-click is delayed / disabled right click still works.) I know that the clicks get detected as the tray icon still points out the tactile/left button when it is used.

Some information that may be required. The driver is more recent than the one on the download section for this laptop, but I had tried both and still happens. (Also tried uninstalling both and using the default Microsoft drivers but still no luck.) Keyboard supplied with no driver and no listed on downloads. Also, "Rejection of TP" is already disabled.

Come here for some reason that I can't edit the first post.

I decided that I was going to send my laptop for repairs that my arrow began to act ladle which meant that I could hardly play a game at all. I thought as a last attempt I would completely reset my computer using restore integrated Windows 8 and it worked. I can now use the keyboard and click at the same time. Although the up arrow is still a little shady, I'm happy. I thought that I would be post that incase someone else had made this experience so that they can try and so know that it worked for someone else, if you've had the experience and it does not work so good luck to find a solution.

Update - I've narrowed it down, the problem is Windows 8.1 Overview. (Which is in beta so problems are expected). If you are considering upgrading to windows windows 8.1 8 with this model of laptop, I would strongly suggest against it.
