HP Pavilion 23-b010 BIOS updated

I have a question about updating the BIOS on my HP Pavilion 23-b010. Currently installed BIOS is version 8.09 FRIEND (who has been the construction of the plant). When I bought the machine at the factory loaded OS is Windows 8. Subsequently I have upgraded to Windows 8.1. Recently, I noticed on the Windows 8 software & Web page download driver for my particular PC there is an update of the listed BIOS - version 8.13 (sp8624.exe) applicable to the 2AF0 of the ROM. family then checked this update the directory FTP Internet HP site - where it is described as a "critical security improvement."

I would like to install this update of the BIOS, but it is not displayed as an update on the Windows 8.1 software & driver downloads Web page to my PC. So I need some advice. My current BIOS 8,09 was for a machine of Windows 8; so is the new version 8.13. But I have upgraded to Windows 8.1; so my attention before installing - don't want my PC into a brick.

FYI my PC motherboard is Pegatron 2AF0.

Yes, you can update the BIOS (and should).  The link is in the section Windows 8 for your computer, here.

The recommendation in HP Support Assistant I've just updated BIOS version f33, f34.  This succeeded and the Pavilion starts normally.

However when I try pressing ESC at startup key is ignored and the trunk.

How to reactivate the computer to respond to the ESC key and allow me to access the system configuration utility?  Have I somehow corrupt CMOS data?

SOLVED!  I discovered the site of download drivers HP there is more BIOS updates for my Pavilion, the last being F.42.  So I installed this.

At that time, it was possible to get the system configuration utility by pressing the ESC key.  However, it works a cold power upward, not reboot.

Also the window by pressing the key is very short, some say about one-fifth of a second, and if you press two times you do not see the system configuration at all.  If some patience is required.

    Hello PedroMarthon.

Are you currently overclocking the graphics card?

In order to solve this problem, I think you should uninstall third-party drivers and use the official drivers for Windows 7 and the workaround posted by my peers.  The reason I suggest, is that the use of third-party drivers could cause strange problems and it will be easier to solve the problem.

What I would say is remove the third-party drivers and then using the method posted in my response above.  Once the process is complete, I would try and then update the BIOS again.  If successful, you can remove Windows 7 drivers and again use your third-party drivers.  However, I'm not against the use of third-party drivers.

I appreciated the way in which you have been given to work with me, so I went to come your messages of congratulations.  If you think that I was helpful please click the White Star under my name to give my messages of congratulations.  I would really appreciate it!

I will keep an eye out for your next answer.  I wish you a nice day!

  • Pavilion a6010n frozen BIOS update

    I was updating a Pavilion a6010n computer.

I ran the update of the BIOS (v.5.13 to v.5.23) file. Open attention box does not turn off the computer, etc..

    The update froze.

After an hour, I left pending. I shut down the computer manually. Removed the battery of the BIOS for half a minute.

I reinstalled the battery and plugged to the computer. Of course it won't start. Does not start even to start.

Is there a recovery process, that we can use to get back on this computer? Perhaps a BIOS file, we can put it on a drive Flash or something?

HP says they no longer support this machine.

    Help!

    JakeKay, welcome to the forum.

Because your computer is more than 8 years old, it was built before that some of the new BIOS recovery methods have been developed.  Therefore, I don't think there is anything you can do.

    Hi all

This problem is a BIOS problem more precisely with the memory reference Code (MRC) version 1.4.0.0 or more. Contact the manufacturer of your system or the card mother for an update system for your system BIOS or the motherboard that includes the MRC 1.5.0.0 or newer.
If you have a system with 2 or more memory modules and are comfortable with the removal of all but one of them so that your memory is in single channel mode, try and remove all but one of them and the problem will disappear. This can be used as a workaround until you are able to update your BIOS from the manufacturer of your system or motherboard that includes the MRC 1.5.0.0 or newer.

  • Pavilion p6717c: p6717c bios update

    Hello

I have worked to set up a simple raid 1 (mirroring) array on this system. The hard drive failed and had to be retrieved from an OEM CD (it worked). I finally got AHCI enabled and works. Trying to get this working, I loaded the firmware/BIOS for H-RS880-ΜATX and should have charged N-Alvorix-RS880.

Now, when I try to load N-Alvorix-RS880 bios, it always fails with a return code of 252. How Flash the correct BIOS down now that I made this mistake?

    Thank you!

    @USMC-Tanker, welcome to the forum.

You actually flash updated the correct BIOS.  This is the page for Specifications of the motherboard of the computer.  The Mobo is H-RS880-ΜATX.  It would not have flashed if it was inaccurate.

  • G6-2235us c2n50ua #aba Pavilion: Pavilion g6-2235us bios update failed - error msg at startup

I had hard time to upgrade to 8.1 Windows, so I made an update of the bios, as recommended by the HP Web Site, but it failed, and now the laptop will not boot.  It displays the error message "your computer must be repaired: \bcd, 0xc0000034... error code. "Additional info are available by pressing ESC, and I can't get into a black screen with options:

    F1 system information

    the F2 System Diagnostics

    F9 boot device options

    configuration of the BIOS F10

    F11 system recovery

I've been to the bottom of all of these tracks, with no luck on continue.  F10 shows me all the bios configuration screens and the version of the bios is F29, the version I tried to level to.

I tried to remove the big battery and pressing the start for a minute button - no joy.

    I tried now Windows + B + start - no joy

I guess I'm trying to create a USB key with the BIOS on this subject, and this is where I am confused.  The softpaq BIOS for this machine is sp66880.exe.  I've got that on an USB fat32 with the label of volume HP_Tools, and I've got HP tools on the stick too.  When I try to boot with the stick of pressing windows + b + start, the light on the USB flashes a lot, but in the end I get the message "the system bios recovery has failed. Could not open the bios image file.  I have a feeling that I don't have the correct configuration on this USB key.  I tried to run sp66880.exe on another computer, but he said that he will immediately Flash the bios, I really want to do (on my Toshiba laptop!).

I would be very happy any help you all can give me on how to create USB recovery key in the proper format.  Thanks in advance.

    Fixed!

It turns out that the update of the bios is really successful, but something in the hard disk boot files has been corrupted.  I got a USB key recovery Windows 8 on another machine and finagle around having HP laptop reformat the hard disk to the original factory State.  Fortunately, I made a very recent Macrium image until this most recent problem, so the next step is to restore this image.  With the new c F29 bios, I hope that this beast will finally go to Windows 8.1.

  • pavilion dv6 7031tx BIOS update

I have a Pavilion DV6-7031TX laptop and I would like to add the latest version of the BIOS that I install windows 7 or 8 as UEFI. The bios that is currently on the laptop is dated 2013 and its number is F29. When I go to the support page, I get a listing for the f.0Une of the 2012 Version. When I check the windows list 8 it is a BIOS date of 2014 F.2D number.
The BIOS located on the laptop is nowhere located? This machine is less than 12 months and it seems odd that this would have a version of BIOS HP does not list?

I DID using the phone number and talked to someone who had NO IDEA what I was talking about and all I want is a simple answer, I do use install the BIOS listed for windows 8? (don't understand why HP has it filed under win8 just like win7 can also use UEFI environment).

I hope that someone at HP knows the information I'm looking for?

    Hello

It certainly isn't the first time I saw a laptop comes with a version of bios that will never appear as a download option - I do not work for HP, so I can't give you an explanation for this.

Regarding the latest version of the bios of your laptop, F.2D, the cva file lists Windows 7 and Windows 8, which is what I expected.

  • HP Pavilion 15-e017tx - button Wireless does not work after bios update

    Hello

I have the HP Pavilion 15-e017tx for the past 8 months.

Press f12 to this machine is shared by the key wireless button, which was working fine until there was a BIOS update last week.

Now I try to turn off the wireless using this button it will not respond (light orange).

I checked the Device Manager, there seems to be a problem with the driver.

IF you have knowledge of this problem please let me know.

    Thank you

    Hello:

The update of the BIOS should affect the driver wireless button.

I would recommend that you reinstall as the unknown device is probably the one.

  • The HP Pavilion a6560z bios update

    I have a HP Pavilion a6560z. Product #: KZ851AV

I tried to upgrade the processor of double base installed to a phenom x 4 9550, that my research shows is compatible as long as I have updated the bios. I am currently running bios version 5.14 20/06/2008. My problem is the OS original on this PC is Vista, I erased this OS and now run Win 7. I found an update of bios, version 5.49 but she said do not be there except if Vista is installed. Will install this bios brick Council since its desingned for vista?

I can't enter the bios with the 9550 installed but it does not start in windows. The bios shows that it is a blah blah Phenom quad core, so at least he acknowledges that, but when I try to load windows it says "the file is maybe damaged. The file header checksum does not match the checksum calculated. "I read that had a memory problem and tried 8 different sticks, all with the same result, so I thought it was a bios problem. Anyway, any help on a version of bios, I can try without bricking advice would be greatly appreciated. Even if its for Vista that I am always willing to try. This pc is not much of value. Thank you.

    You are welcome.

  • Pavilion x 2 10-n155sa: bios update does not install

HP Support Assistant on a new Pavilion x 2 detachable (10-n155sa) said that the needs of the (Doritos 2.0) bios updated. He is currently F04 and offered new is F06.

I accept the option of automatic update and it downloads etc and to sit down again 'installation' for too long. The PC is not suspended and the update can be cancelled OK, to keep the laptop on F04. It seems not really 'out' at all and immediately cancels the installation (I expected to take a long time to regularize).

The laptop is running. I tried several times now and just on the installation screen.

    KB10

    Hello KB10,.

You try to update the bios through the HP Support assistant or you download the file directly on the site of HP?

    IF not, I'll try later.

    Here's the direct link... SP73945.exe

But in all reality, If it's not broken don't fix it. IF you don't have problems with the bios, then do not update!

BIOS update are a different animal than updating a driver. If something goes wrong, you have enabled your system in a brick.

And the HP Support assistant says you need to update the bios is not because its necessary. Don't do that if its absolutely need.

    But good luck anyway.
