HP Pavilion 500-210qe: hard drive problem

Never before have I had a problem with a hard drive. I'll go along to watch Youtube plays a game and what ever and the hard drive with just stop working. The light that indicates the disk hard something it's been stuck on but when I arrived in Task Manager there is nothing using the hard disk and its 100%. After a while of this, I have to stop him because he is so locked up. Then, usually when I start it back up I wait because if I immediately she (of a hard disk failure), even if I can make it work if I wait like 15 minutes that I don't quite understand. Also when I try to update the computer he fails to do so and uninstalls the updats and goes back to what it was before. I got this computer a little over a year now, and it really started to hurt. What I'm asking is, if there is anything I can do to fix this or should I just get a new hard drive. At the moment I'm typeing my portable macbook almost 10 years, because it is more reliable than my PC for $ 600 1 years.

I'm happy to help you.

You can actually buy the same size or larger than the existing hard drive for System Recovery media work.  The offered readers when you bought the computer are 1 to, 2-to-3.  As indicated, you can buy one the same size or more great.  Here's a 1 TB drive that will work on your computer.  If you don't want to buy this one, it's a good example of what you need.

    Hello

Last March, I bought a Hp Pavilion n211dx-15 and 9 months after I bought it, I had some problems with the RAM because of my eletricity, but I already bought a new pair of ram sticks. I tried to do the system recovery Image minimized by myself because I didn't know it was a problem of ram, in the middle of the installation, the computer froze and the pixels have been going nuts. In any case, when I had the fixed ram, I started the computer and I saw that I had altogether 90 GB of HARD disk space (it comes with a 750 GB HARD drive), the windows installation is fine and all, but my HDD shows that 90GB total and the computer comes with a 750 GB HARD drive , I do not have what to do (if I have to install stuff and HARD drive drivers).

    Thank you

  • Pavilion 500 adding hard drive

Bought a desktop Pavilion 500 computer last week.  Kind of disappointed with the documentation that comes with it, also disappointed with the documentaion on this site, just seems to have two manuals supplied with the computer, PDF files (but, maybe I'm not looking in the right place).  Nothing in the documentation provided with your computer that shows what the computer looks like inside, no info at all on the update of the computer (adding another hard drive - what memory?).  I open the computer and take a look to see what is inside, but the manual says that if I open the computer and break the security seal I certify that the computer was working properly until I tried to upgrade the computer, and if the security seal is broken it could screw up my warranty.  I think there must be space for another hard drive, but who knows.  I would like to install the IDE of my old computer hard disk, do not know if this is possible.  I know I can get a disk enclosure and connect it to a USB port, but prefer to install the drive in the computer (may be screwing up the warranty...).  If an IDE drive may not be installed on the computer, as it is, maybe some sort of a SATA to IDE adapter or card would work.  Anyone have any ideas?

According to respondents, this adapter converts IDE drives to Sata port.

  • HP pavilion 500-164 hard drive transfer

HI I am wanting to replace many components in my computer, but instead of buying a new hard drive and the operating system and the file transfer. There are problems in that I'll run or can I just plug it in and start the computer? If Yes is there everything works that I should not.

No, if you replace everything else the hard drive, you will not need to reinstall windows. All what you need to do is install the hard drive in the new computer (if there are two sata slots) or buy a caddy and remove the optical drive, the best thing is to buy a hard drive enclosure.

  • HP Pavilion G6-1D69CA - hard drive problem

Hi, I had this HP G6 for over a year and guaranteed missed a few months ago. It is the second laptop I got from HP. It was a replacement for my HP 2000 model who broke in less than half a year. It broke now. When I try to start the laptop takes me to the screen of SMART hard disk error hard drive 1 list (301). When I try to take stock of hard disk in the diagnostic system it fails and he gives me this failure ID: 90EC0C - 5 T 5709-MFGH5A-608703. My question is that replace HARD drive would solve this problem? If Yes, what models can replace this with? Should it be as SMART compatible.

Yes replacing the hard drive would solve the problem. You can use any hard drive laptop 2.5 inch SATA; they are the industry standard. All hard drives are compatible SMART and not having CHIP would be like having a car with no lights on dash oil pressure. You can remain in blissful ignorance while the parties fail around you and do you more damage as you keep rolling.

Post back and we can walk helps you purchase, install, and upgrade the software on a new hard drive. It will cost less than US $100... as low as $60, depending on the size and speed.

  • Pavilion dv7 - 4263cl: hard drive problems

Long story short, OS could not start windows with a missing BOOTMGR message, recovery disc, not work, ordered new HP recovery disks.  To cover, I ordered a new hard drive to replace it, with the same characteristics but a 1 Toshiba to.

OK, installed the hard drive and used recovery disks at HP, but when you restart always get BOOTMGR missing error message.  Make a new recovery disk for windows 7 64 bit internet and serious on a bootable CD.  It starts, but found recovery does not list an OS system on hard drive.   Did the hard restart more once, install hardrive checked again, the cables and connections.  Took another installation of the HP recovery discs and also led a bootable disc that was to fix the problems with installing a new HHD and activation of the HHD working properly. Working always nothing. Get the same message.  Cast recovery manager got into the prompt orders and done a repair of the bootrec nothing / new. Checked the directory and found at the bottom of the list that it lists zero OS System.  So, how can I get my hard drive formatted to accept the installation of the OS? Any ideas to try, I have read and tried all the messages, I could very well on this forum.   Thank you...

Thanks for the reply, yes my hard drive failed and I installed a new one, but after using the purchased HP recovery disc though HP, showed that a black bootmgr error saying screen was missing.

Found on the HP disks partitioned hard drive, with windows on X:\ but was again start-up C:\ which was just a recovery image.   X drive was not complete, he lacked all the drivers and could not activate or change and C disc drive letter. I didn't know how to do this in the command prompt.

Fixed my problem with a windows 7 installation no disc not the recovery disks that came from HP, if all goes well, they will work to reinstall all drivers to the laptop, but we'll see.  Used (computer repair) on the installation disk and it repaired the bootmgr.  Thanks anyway...

There are two empty SATA sockets on the motherboard.

There is a power outlet extra.

But I do not see how to fix my new drive mechanically.

    Hello

Based on the following specifications, there NOT all alternatives for a second HDD segment:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03969069

Alternatively, you can refer to the following manuals:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/documentSubCategory?tmp_task=useCategory & CC = US & DLC = in & LC = in & Product = 5399832

You are a handyman? If so, you can use screws, glue... to add a second HDD in the guest room. Keep in mind: do not block the airflow.

    Kind regards.

I wonder if it is possible to change the 500 GB HARD drive with an SSD on my HP Pavilion MS228sc?

If 'yes', I guess I have to go for a SATA SSD if there is. But I have to worry about other specs?

    If 'Yes'... what could be.

I googled my question but no answers... so I ty Wizzards :-) Forum

    @Lord_Nikon

In fact, this is not true. As long as he uses a large SSD enough it will be able to use the recovery media. I suggest using a SSD of 256 or 512 GB if budgeted for the upgrade...

He doesn't have to make a Windows 7 installation USB drive and use the activation key license on the certificate of authenticity from the PC Windows to perform a cleanup to install.

One of them should be on your PC. The Prodct key is what is needed for installation and activation online.

  • HP Pavilion Touchsmart 14 b109: hard drive problem

It seems that the hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. If you are still in warranty HP will send a replacement. If this is not the case, a laptop SATA hard detail can be used. Just be sure to get a quality at least equal the original in order to use recovery disks. It may be big, but not small ability more. For example if you have a 500 GB hard drive you can use a 750 GB hard drive, but not a 320 GB hard drive.

  • Pavilion dm4, replacing hard drive

    So, I have a HP Pavilion dm4 1165 c: windows 7 64 bit, around a Yes and a half old.

A week before, the hard drive suffered a kind of permanent fatal event and quietly left this death spiral.  If you want to know: any type of shoe was impossible.  System recovery could not even see the drive, an external drive could not speak of it, and it crashed to any machine that has tried.  I had to send it to data recovery - they tell me that the reader has hard errors and at least one of the drive heads does not.  They will be able to pick up stuff for me, but the reader is a loss (yes I know, I know - I should have backed up).

So in my opinion it - I have two problems to solve.  1. I need a new hard drive.  2 - I need stuff to put on my hard drive (it came with nothing - I don't have the disc for the operating system, drivers, nothing).  That offer HP which determination of these problems?  How much are these options?  Who should I talk to?  (I tried to call tech support, but there was a bit of a language barrier.  Also, I'm out of warranty, and they want $60 to solve problems before they'll still talk about replacement of hardware and/or software).

    Hello:

You can order a 500 GB hard drive 7 200 to replace your existing one.  You can't go smaller if you want to use recovery disks.

I love this place to order PC hardware.

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/ProductList.aspx?submit=Ene&N=100007605%20600030594&IsNodeId=1&BOP=and&order=rating&PageSize=20

I'd go with the first listed, but it is up to you. Look at the reviews and the price and choose the one that suits you best.

You can order HP recovery discs. You will need to call them as the link to the website to order them is broken.  Cost should be less than $20.00

You will need the complete model number of your PC. I do not see a dm4 - 1165dm.  I see a dm4 - 1165dx, and you will need to provide the serial number.

If HP has a set of recovery disc for your PC, you can use this workaround to install W7 on your new HARD drive.

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

More information area has direct links with the current and recent buildings if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for old video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with QuickTime software or a third party.

Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.
