HP Pavilion 500-242

I just bought a new 500-242. She seems to have no expansion for an additional hard drive space. Can I install an additional SATA drive of my old pc - or even 2 of them?

Let's assume it's the HP500-242ea. It is WIN8.1, UEFI BIOS (you'll need nagivate who really carefully.)  Each unused Sata port has a disable "secure." Need to activate the port before adding the drive.)  There is NO manual upgrade maintenance on the site. Without same, I wouldn't guess.

Here's the audio that I have on my computer: IDT 92HD65C

Looking at the Device Manager, I see that the driver date is 07/11/2013.  Where can I find the updated drivers for this?

The version of the driver I have right now is 6.10.6496.0

Is there still a good reason do not update the audio drivers?

    Hello:

    The audio works fine now?

If so, I would not update the driver.  Many problems with W10 and IDT audio.

There is an audio driver IDT W10 on your PC support page if the Beats Audio doesn't work properly or not at all.

  • HP Pavilion 500-297c: Boot failure now need to recoversystem

My Pavilion 500-297c will not start.   All initial tests HD pass ok.   I am running an extended test.   Resetting the system w/maintain files fails.

I guess even a hard disk failure.   I purchase and install a new HD.  The system came with Windows 8, which has since been upgraded to Windows 10.

So, I'm going to need some kind of bootable recovery disk HP.  No idea how to get a CD or bootable USB drive to restore the system to a bootable state?

Also, given that the current hard drive always seems to work at least in part, I hope to set it up as a second drive on the system once I get the new HD installed.  What is the best way to try that?

    > No idea how to get a CD or bootable USB drive to restore the system to a bootable state?

Because Windows 10 _was_ installed on your computer, a "fingerprint" of your computer is registered with Microsoft.

This 'fingerprint' allows you to download Windows 10, on any computer and create a bootable DVD that can be used on your computer, without having to enter a 25-character license key.

    Reference: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

There is no need to wait for HP to courier-ship anything for you.

Tip: buy a new disk drive and install, remove your current hard drive.

Install Windows 10 on the new drive and then attach the old drive as a "slave."

and copy all your files to it on the new drive.

  • Pavilion 500-056: accidentally disabled my speakers! sound/no

So here's the scoop. My computer (HP Pavilion 500-056) had been broken for a year now, and I finally fixed and reinstalled windows 10. Everything worked well and I was very happy until I realized that I had no sound coming out of my speakers. Through my process of DIY autour, check the cables and the entry and other output sockets, there seemed to be no problem. I went in the sound mixer, and there, I accidentally disabled my speakers, so they don't pop up on the list more! I have no idea how to turn them on now, and I still have no idea how fix my sound. If someone could help pronto, I would be very happy! Thank you!

    Hello

If they were just disabled, you can re-enable the as follows.

Do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "playback devices".

In the next window, right-click on an empty area and enter a checkmark against "Show disabled devices".

If your speakers are now listed, right-click them, then select activate.

    Kind regards

  • HP Pavilion 500-311no: the hp Pavilion 500-311no upgrade

Hp Pavilion 500-311no desktop PC, I bought a few years ago and now I feel like I would get some more power out of it then is it possible to upgrade this computer. I use mostly this pc for a game so what I'm looking to upgrade is the gpu. It seems that the motherboard supports the latest grphics cards and I think they should also fit the case. Incase of replacement parts, the power supply needs to be replaced probably as well. Also overclocking motherboard support and how the overclocking and replacement parts affect warranty?

    Greetings,

You have some positives on your side:

    PCIe available x 16 slot 3.0.

    UEFI BIOS.

Your chassis will limit the duration of the update of the graphics card.

You have only a 300 Watt power supply.

Most of the HP motherboards cannot be overclocked. I have a processor Intel 4820 K. HP offers limited overclocking abilities with this processor.

Check the measurements on the existing power supply.  A diet of 600 runs most new graphics cards high-end. NVIDIA cards tend to require less energy than equivalent AMD cards.

Check the height of the rear panel input/output where the x 16 slot is to determine the maximum length of a new card.

Shop for a new card graphics and power supply when you know your limits. The high-end cards are usually double slot. Make sure you have room to install a card double slot. You need to be able to burst a second plate of input/output rear panel to install a dual slot graphics card.

Modular power supplies reduce tangles of cables in the chassis.

    See you soon!

I haven't identified the problem because it's random, very often and it's very annoying, my sound system is its IDT DTS + I tried to reinstall the drivers with the latest version but some of the problem persists...

Sorry for the English, but this isn't my mother tongue, I used google translator.

    Hi there @Alexcpp,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that, after the update of Windows 10 anniversary, you had some sound problems.  I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

Check the support page for your model of HP Pavilion 500-215el desktop PC, there don't seem to be updated drivers, and you have already tried to reinstall existing ones.

You can always try to use the HP Support Assistant, HP PCs - using HP Support Assistant (Windows 10, 8, 7) to see if there is a driver available that is not displayed on the support page. It is unlikely, but there is always a chance that the page has not yet updated.

Another possibility is to make some adjustments on your system, just in case there is another driver or software that interferes with the audio, which could cause problems of lag. You can try the search, even if these: computers HP - computer is slow (10 Windows), HP - slow Internet troubleshooting (10, 8 Windows) computers.  They are never a waste of time because often there is something that could help the overall performance of the system.

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • HP Pavilion 500-314: IDT High Definition Audio works do not (HP Pavilion 500-314)

Hello.  I have a HP Pavilion 500-314.  It works on Windows 10.  My audio worked fine until I had to reset the computer after my computer went into a loop of "prepare the AutoFix.  Once I reset the computer, there was an 'x' next to the small speaker icon in the lower right corner.  When I move my mouse over the "speaker" icon, he says "no speakers or headphones are connected.  It drives me crazy that the other posts about the IDT High Definition Audio did not work.   I would appreciate a quick response.  Thank you for your time.

    Shayna - Ghram-Kaiser

    Hello:

Given that I don't know what other posts read you about it, what works for most forum members is to install the audio driver IDT W8.1 support page and the driver of your PC.

This package provides the Audio IDT high definition (HD) to support of office models that are running an operating system supported. -Provides the models of desktop audio driver version and supported operating systems.

    File name: sp65946.exe

If you have already done this and it has not resolved the problem, unfortunately I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.

Here is the list of specifications to Sapphire in the link below. Notice that most of the R9 series supports UEFI. There is no map of R7 series made my Sapphire Tech who take care of UEFI.

I want to know what brand of food is supported for my pc model (hp pavilion 500-550nv) and how much wattage recommended (up to 600? up to 650?). Which is the recommended limit of power supply of power for my HP?

I'm waiting for your answers. Thank you

    Hello @jeandoumpier,

I read your post on food and wanted to help you!  I understand that you are concerned about upgrade options.

You should be able to improve the power you want.  The Office should take but a lot of power, it must, food that is installed.  Just check that the power supply to use, firmly enters the tower.  Based on the Specifications of the product, you can find the dimensions tour here:

    • Height: 36.7 cm (14,48 in.) unpacked

    • Width: 17.5 cm (6.91 inches) unpacked

    • Length: 38.9 cm (15.35 inches) unpacked

  • Update of power supply for HP Pavilion 500-056

I want to upgrade to a discrete graphics card, but the 300 watt PSU is not enough.  It is not one of the standard sizes such as ATX12V, EPS12V, SFX12V (small footprint), LFX12V (low profile form factor), or TFX12V (slim form factor).

Does anyone know of a specific diet that can fit in my computer case?  Without my ability to be upgraded will be severely compromised.

According to the specs of HP Pavilion 500-056 desktop PC product page, your computer uses a power SUPPLY ATX12V PSU which is 150 x 140 x 86 mm (5.9 x 5.5 x 3.4 inches) in size. Please consider replacing it with a Corsair CX500, CX600, CX500M, or CX600M depending on your graphics card needs.

  • HP pavilion 500 076ea: no hard drive detected or has no

Put in a new power supply in a pc
Comes up with no detected boot drive or does not, how can I solve this problem?

What I have to go out and buy a new operating system e.g. Windows 8 to solve this problem or is the problem worse than that

If I missed any information you need help I can provide

    Thank you

    Hi @Fraser11,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support.   I believe that since the departure of the power supply in your Pavilion 500-076ea that your hard drive is no longer detected.   I am convinced that I will be able to help you find a solution, and I ask only that pay you it forward. When solve us the problem, I would mark you kindly post as accept as Solution so that others have the same or similar problem can find what worked for you.

Please use the document of replacement of the power supply HP and Compaq Desktop PCs as a checklist to make sure that nothing was missed when you have replaced the power supply.  From my experience, most of the time when this error occurs after the replacement of the power supply there is a cable that is not properly plugged.

Please let me know the results.

  • Pavilion 500 - C60: new office reads, "ERROR: no boot disk was detected or the disc has failed" at startup.

Just bought Pavilion 500 - C60, running Windows 8.1 64-bit and am doing everything on old HP running Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2. Has not gone smoothly from one thing to another, but I think everything comes together. A couple of days, began to receive the error message at startup or, if I COULD do so that it starts would go for awhile and then would get an ERROR message, requiring restart. Usually after obtaining the error message several times, the computer would then initialize. Tonight, I couldn't override the error message for anything! When you press power button / stop, I hear (HD) running for a few seconds, everything is silent, and then the error message appears on the gray screen dark in white letters, BACK very and sinister looking! Any suggestions? Had the computer about two months and it has not been easy.

Not good!  Check all the connectors and the hard drive to make sure that they are correctly wired in place. Make sure that your cable is not reversed.

Contact the seller if still under warranty for repair.  This could be the hard drive or motherboard and the problem lies the only diagnosis from a repair facility.

  • HP Pavilion 500: Can I install my HP Pavilion 205t - 500 HD in HP Pavilion 500-490?

My HP Pavilion 500 - 205t was destroyed by lightning. The HD is OK I bought an HP Pavilion 500-490 because the specifications were very close.  I want to use my HD 205 t. Both computers are Core i3-4130, 1 TB 7200 SATA 6 G 3.5 HDs, same OS (Windows 7 Pro 64). My question is: can I exchange them, or should I get an external HD enclosure and copy the 205t on the 490? If I need of the HD casing external, looks like aluminium would be better, but would like recommendation for who holds out my HD.

Thank you. That's what I needed to know. I read that just replacing the hard drive could invalidate it. Not like the old days! I could have put the HD in the new machine and it had a race without delay. I ordered external HD casing that you recommended - and thank you for that, too. I would get in 6/24. Blessings, Abby
