HP Pavilion 500-314: IDT High Definition Audio works do not (HP Pavilion 500-314)

Hello.  I have a HP Pavilion 500-314.  It works on Windows 10.  My audio worked fine until I had to reset the computer after my computer went into a loop of "prepare the AutoFix.  Once I reset the computer, there was an 'x' next to the small speaker icon in the lower right corner.  When I move my mouse over the "speaker" icon, he says "no speakers or headphones are connected.  It drives me crazy that the other posts about the IDT High Definition Audio did not work.   I would appreciate a quick response.  Thank you for your time.

Shayna - Ghram-Kaiser

Hello:

Given that I don't know what other posts read you about it, what works for most forum members is to install the audio driver IDT W8.1 support page and the driver of your PC.

This package provides the Audio IDT high definition (HD) to support of office models that are running an operating system supported. -Provides the models of desktop audio driver version and supported operating systems.

File name: sp65946.exe

If you have already done this and it has not resolved the problem, unfortunately I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.

    Hey,.

Try installing this driver: driver Audio IDT high definition (HD)

If this fails, try to use the HP Recovery Manager to roll back the driver installed in the factory.

After the two tests. I would like to know if the option worked.

  • IDT High Definition Audio CODEC does not properly

I can't seem to be able to find the drivers updated to installed originally audio CODEC on my Dimension E510 - Dell giving no info and IDT, just original manufacturer keeps referring me to Dell.  Any suggestions?

I have an E510.  SigmaTel drivers on Dell downloads must be only used with our 510's.  If you try to use other providers SigmaTel drivers or pilots IDT latest either they won't work properly or not at all.

What kind of problems you have with the audio?  I can be able to help.  There is a Codec IDT update Microsoft update last year "pushed out" and if it was installed caused several different audio problems, and unfortunately the ONLY way to fix it was a system restore to a date prior to the installation or a complete reinstallation - nothing else we found would fix the noise if the update of the IDT Codec has been applied.

With the E510 is a 'mature' product (is no longer produced), what you see is the latest version of the driver (for any device) that Dell will never issue.  In addition, Dell emits only drivers (on current models) if the unit does not respond to published specifications (which would include a known problem).  Companies of commercial material, like SoundBlaster or IDT, often issue of updates of the driver but it's usually just to correct some problems, and these problems can only be a single request for specific hardware (for example to solve a problem with a certain model Intel motherboard).

If you encounter a problem of compatibility, for example with a certain game, your only option is to install a compatible PCI sound card.  I upgraded my Vista E510 and maintain all audio functions (including what you mean (table of the system mixer) for streaming audio, I installed a map its SoundBlaster Audigy SE ($30).  It is an integrated upgrade audio as it has MIDI hardware Synth than Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth software, which I use with MIDI music software.

I tried the sound of setting here is what I tried:

I uninstalled IDT audio driver I went into Control Panel and uninstalled the IDT Audio driver.

Then I restarted my computer and I reinstalled the drivers of HP's Windows 8.1.

After restarting my computer again, I checked to see if everything was back to normal, but it is not yet sounded even.

When I right click on the "speaker" icon and then choose playback devices here is what was posted:
    The top unit is called:
Its digital display (AMD high definition Audio Device) not connected
    OK, this is Normal.

    The central device is called:
Speaker / device by default HP (IDT High Definition Audio Codec)
OK, this device is also Normal.

    The background feature is called:
Communication by default communication device Headphones (IDT High Definition Audio Codec)
OK in Windows 8.1 this device has been disabled by default but in Windows 10 it is activated and listed as default communications device.

So I thought that if I just disabled it my Turtle Beach P11 helmet would return to normal, but it didn't she sounded still, I even restarted my computer.

OK, so I tried to set the Communications headset as device by default but when I right click and click on set as default device it wouldn't let me.

I then disabled speaker / HP and tried to set it as default device it wouldn't let me.

When I disabled speaker / HP Groove Music said he could not detect an Audio device in order to activate the speaker / HP and people with disabilities

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    A temporary Solution:

After you have solved the problem by reading through countless messages try every difficulty that none of them I went into Control Panel and he took a glance at the the Dolby Advanced Audio Control Panel now I never tested with this before so far but I was able to fix the Audio questions here is exactly what I did :

When you use your built-in Laptop speakers or possibly other speakers:
Right-click on start (the white Windows icon located to the left of the bottom of your screen)
    Click on Control Panel
    Click on hardware and sound
    Click Dolby Advanced Audio
    Click on listening experience
    Check Dolby Advanced Audio

    I've tested on the following:
    Play music (sounded great)
Played a Youtube video (sounded great)
Played a video that I saved on my PC (sounded great)
Played a show or a movie on Netflix (sounded great)

When you use your headset from Turtle Beach Z11 or possibly other headphones:
Right-click on start (the white Windows icon located to the left of the bottom of your screen)
    Click on Control Panel
    Click on hardware and sound
    Click Dolby Advanced Audio
    Click on listening experience
Uncheck Dolby Advanced Audio now, your headset should ring loud instead of sound like Mono and stereo and crappy.

    I've tested on the following:
    Play music (sounded great)
Played a Youtube video (sounded great)
Played a video that I saved on my PC (sounded great)
Played a show or a movie on Netflix (sounded great)

You need to keep the box checked when you use your built-in Laptop speakers, otherwise they will sound like Mono and crappy.

So basically when you plug in your headphones uncheck the box.

So basically when you disconnect your headset check box.

If you have messed with the implementation in and want to return to the default value:
    Click Advanced settings
    Click on Reset

Thanks to my temporary fix Audio problems are gone, but I hope that HP releases new drivers, so I can't use my temporary Solution.

Also I hope HP or Microsoft releases new drivers for the Synaptics TouchPad so that people can save their settings.

This has been corrected by James Yerkes on Microsoft Community:

    Open regedit.exe

    Navigate to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Install

Note it's the LOCAL MACHINE, not the CURRENT USER.

Search for a key in the installation folder called DeleteUserSettingsOnUpgrade

Double click and change the value to 0

Now go back in the Panel of Synaptics, put all how you like and restart.

in any case if someone has problems with Windows 10 Post here and I'll see if I can help you but I recommend resetting your PC in recovery Menu so that most of the problems will be solved then I would install all my drivers from the manufacturer.

I am currently using window 8.1 1 driver from AMD and HP drivers.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This may not work for everyone, but if you have the same laptop and headphones I don't then it should work.

I posted this as well on Microsoft Community:

  • Good question HP Pavilion DV6 IDT High Definition Audio CODEC

    Hello

I recently bought a new laptop for school and study. I bought second hand, because I could not afford a completely new.

When looking for the laptop, make sure that everything was okay. I opened a YouTube video and the video began to play normally. No graphic problem must have problems of SUVs, or any audio. Plugged in my headphones and everything always went well. I literally checked everything and every aspect, and I finally bought it. It was running Windows 7 Home Edition 64-bit.

Once home, I did a factory reset and I erased the whole HARD disk, simply because I wanted to be sure I could start with a clean Windows 7.

Once he finished and booted up, I've updated Windows 7 until I couldn't either. Around now, time was about 02:00 at night.

I wanted to watch my series on the Internet, but I got no sound. I disconnected my headphones and reconnected them and yet one time. No sound.

I checked his Windows in the lower right, and while the video showed no activity of all sounds (no bars back) played. I then unplugged the earphones and tried on normal speakers. Nothing more.

Strange thing is that when I plug in my headphones and I go to sound options windows and then I chose 'headphones (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) Communication I stop the video, lower or higher, sound and playback of the video, the sound works perfectly well. But as expected, when you unplug the headphones no sound again. I had the same exact process without being plugged in headphones, but without success.

During playback of the YouTube video this process works. But try a downloaded video, or the sounds of the sample of Windows itself, it gives me an error.

If I play a game I have no sound.

I don't know where I can see the correct modelnumber of your laptop, but it's a HP Pavilion DV6 with an i5 2410 M, 4 GB RAM 450 GB of storage (14, 5GB recovery) and a HD6770M AMD and Beats Audio.

    Any help is very appreciated!

It seems a problem with the audio driver.

Go to Device Manager > under sound and Audio > uninstall all the listed under it.

Select Recovery Manager > drivers and applications > find the IDT audio driver and reinstall it to the computer.

    Restart the computer.

    Hello @Shas_HP,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems, with the help of the community!

I read your post on the Microphone and wanted to help you!

First of all, try to use the HP Support Assistant to find updates for your Audio drivers.  I also recommend to use back to a previous generation option, in your system settings:

HP Notebook PC - upgrade to Windows 10

Once you return to your original operating system, check to see if you encounter the same problem. If this isn't the case, then you can consider holding off on the update of Windows 10 for a few weeks, until what drivers can be updated.

Please let me know if this information has been helpful by clicking the thumbs up below.

    Thank you!

    You are welcome.

Sorry that didn't work or the other.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp55001-55500/sp55026.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When finished, restart the computer and let Windows load completely.  Open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

If you have still no sound, open windows control panel, open administrative tools, and then open Services.  Verify that the following services are all showing that status = started and the Startup Type = Automatic

    Audio service

    Multimedia class Scheduler

    Windows Audio

    Windows Audio endpoint Builder

If you need to make a change to one of the above, just right-click the service and select Properties, and then in the drop-down list box next to "Startup Type", select automatic and click on apply to save the changes.  Then click on the Start button.

  • IDT - Audio - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC-updated, problems with the audio

I recently installed successfully IDT - Audio - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC and after that none of my audio worked. Everything indicates that the audio is working as usual, but no sound. Also, when I did a test "sound" in the control panel > sound, it is said "the test could not be played. (Translated from Finnish Windows Vista, but anyway). I went to IDT Audio settings (from the bottom right icon) and noticed that my headphones and speakers had been cut so I removed the 'secret' of these two, but nothing happened. I tried to restart the computer several times and recheck the IDT Audio settings but nothing found which could cause the problem.

    Hey Andyy27,

My HP Support Assistant tried to make me update this driver I have the computer in mid-August.  Same thing; whenever I have install the driver, there is no sound either - I have not known what you mentioned above on the sound slowly disappears.  Thahaseena, good to have you hear.  I am running Windows 7 family on a HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC.  After installation, there is no request to restart or stop to install updates; my sound card lists an error and I have to roll back the driver to make it work again.

My driver date is January 13, 2010, version 6.10.6265.0.  It's one that I continue to back and it works.  I will install the update now and tell you what I get for audio driver is not working.

The properties of my IDT HD Audio CODEC says:

Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might be installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or maybe it's a malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

You must restart your computer before the changes made to this device will come into force.

New driver that disables my sound: June 17, 2010, version 6.10.6289.0.  Well now, it asks me to restart, but I'm not having good hope... will write if this time it solves the problem (4th time charm?).

  • Keep having to disable and reactivate my IDT High Definition Audio CODEC, what's the problem?

    Hello!

I have a Pavilion Touchsmart Sleekbook 14 "with Windows 8, I bought the news about 7 months ago. I have not yet updated to Windows 8. 1.

Recently, I noticed that my audio suddenly stops working. This happens usually when my computer has been asleep and I start it again. No sound through headphones or loudspeakers when I plug them in. I have not tried external speakers, but I imagine that the result would be the same.

If I go into my device manager and disable and re-enable the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC the sound comes back. All the audio devices I have listed are associated with this IDT High Definition Audio. I tried to update the drivers, but he informs me that the most up-to-date drivers is already installed.

I'm not entirely sure what causes this problem, but I remember to install a HP Windows Update or a while back about IDT High Definition Audio. I think it's an optional update.

EDIT: after doing some more research, it looks like it is related to that Windows update and compatibility of their audio driver IDT with Windows 8 or 8.1 does not look very good. If all else fails I'll try to uninstall the IDT CODEC all together and use default HP audio.

Someone at - he found a solution that works for them in this regard?

Thanks Viktoria, thank you for spreading the word

If you can mark my post on this topic with an acceptable Solution and Bravo, it help me and will allow the post to appear more frequently on research conducted on the Internet. Providing congratulations to my other posts about the issue would help a lot

As I said, I will change my guide to troubleshooting on the issue soon (probably in the next day or two). There is no more sense to have the fix for a problem with crazy

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp59001-59500/sp59291.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you're done, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Only start the laptop and let Windows load completely - it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

    Kind regards
