HP Pavilion 510 desktop PC: HP 510 desktop - no disk activity light

I wanted to register my disappointment and disapproval than the HP Pavilion PC Office 510

does not provide a disk activity light.  Otherwise, looks like a good solid system.

@michael_coulter,

Just for you, I downloaded and tested this indicator of hard disk activity of the task bar.    When he disappears, just press the 'up' arrow (show hiden icons) on the taskbar and drag taskbar icon.

  • The HP Pavilion p6110y Desktop PC OpenGl 3.0 is compatible?

I recently downloaded a game on Steam (Kings mercenary) because according to this site (link below), he said that I was able to run it.

However, when I went to play the game, it is said - and I quote - "your video card's OpenGL is does not support the extension GL_ARB_framebuffer_object.» Please update your driver or contact your provider for loans OpenGL 3.0 drivers. »

Based on the following link, your machine has ONLY "Intel GMA 3100":

    jherbie77,

Are you sure of that model #?  I found it listed hereandhere as a PATA/IDE hard drive. Not a good choice!

That being said, here are my suggestions.

You need an internal Sata DVD + RW (there be DL mode) and the necessary cabling. Power supply not having a spare power cord Sata, but it wil have the molex 4 pin. You also need a Sata data cable.

    Player $18.99

    cable selection:

just a data cable, you have found a power cord Sata 15 pin $2.99

just a power and data in the drop-down list $3.99

  • HP Pavilion 510-p010: How can I insert my xD Picture Card into the slot

I just bought this HP Pavilion 510-P010.  I was told the slot would fit in my sD card, I specifically asked about this until I bought it.  They said he would do.  I can't that it fits in the normal way, does it go side?  And if so, what sense does face.  I'm afraid to stay in it and something will happen if I do not do so in law.
The card is a card, xD-Picture Card 2 GB M.

You said it was an xD card, which is specific to Olympus and Fuji XD Picture Card of the camera.

I don't know of all model Compaq or HP who could accept these cards... enlighten us?

  • Upgrade processor for Hp Pavilion p6607c desktop PC

Hello. I have a desktop Hp Pavilion p6607c with an amd athlon ii x 2 220 processor atm and a corsair 500w PSU. I was wondering if I could switch to an amd phenom ii x 4 processor that stretches with problems or if there are all the other better processors that I could update. Only change that iv made about it is that iv added a Radeon HD 5670. Thanks in advance for any help.

    ERICO,

    This is clearly incorrect, as the original AMD Athlon™ II X 2 220 CPU in the computer of the OP is listed by AMD as an AM3 CPU. This is also confirmed by the fact that HP record page for the HP Pavilion p6607c desktop computer reads;

    AMD Athlon II X 2 220

    Speed: up to 2.8 GHz

    Number of cores: 2

    Socket: AM3

    Bus speed: 4000 MHz HT3

Based on this information and the fact that HP list updates for this computer include the AMD Phenom II Quad-Core and AMD Phenom II Triple-Core CPU, which both seem to be AM3 processors, I'd feel safe recommending the installation of a large number of these 95 watt AMD AM3 "C2" not to not UC and 95 watt AMD AM3 'C3' not to not UC.

    Please send Bravo

  • Pavilion P6610f Desktop Tower a ticking noise, can turn back be opened while still running?

HP Pavilion p6610f desktop win 8 64 bit since my hard drive has failed and a friend of a friend installed another hard drive and insisted on the fact that I install Win 8 instead of 7, (I hate Win 8), there is a click inside the tower and I also hear something that seems to hold the bike to the top then then down every few seconds, the ticking is almost every second. I checked the power that I knew how. Configuration and System Device Manager and it says disk hard does not work properly and is no need for an updated driver. But everything is so slow and things don't work a lot of the time, the internet will not load or merely far sometimes but convenience store network says it is connected and functional. I sometimes can't features to not work the control panel.  I tried the diagnosis of memory in the administration settings, but it wouldn't work. Before I could get my Win 7 backup files on Win 8, PC showed that I had 220 GB of 232 GB memory left possible on the replacement hard drive. I have 4 GB of Ram on a 16 possible and I thought shoud get more. I was just wondering can I have the back off the coast of the Tower during its execution so that I can see that actually the sounds before investing in another hard drive and memory cards? I'm so unhappy with my computer that I love even more to use it and I used to stay on 10 to 16 hours a day.  I don't have microsoft nhave word more and I miss the fonts that he used and for a reason that these fonts are missing off the coast of my e-mail program when they were there before the failure and the loss of MS Word IE fonts. Sorry so long winded. Taylor

    Taylor,

No long-term, just percise. Liked it.

    (1) you can observe with the box to open, but get a grounding strap. (for example).

    (2) If you want to WIN 7 64 bit, see here

    (3) memory is available here (2 PCs 4 GB)

    (4) MS Office Starter 2010 is still free.

  • Adding features USB 3.0 for a HP Pavilion p6235uk desktop pc

Hello world. I have a HP pavilion p6235 desktop PC uk. The OS is Windows 7 Home Premium.

These are the MS-7613 (indio) anMS1 motherboard with a PC1 expressx 16 slot for graphics card, three PC1 express x 1 slots and location minicards.

I don't know if the PC1 express x 1 slots are empty. This pc model has only USB 2.0 ports, but I would buy a USB 3.0 external hard drive to store an image of the computer system and regularly back up the existing files.

I know that due to backwards compatibility I can plug USB 3.0 drive into a USB 2.0 on the PC. But then I get the speed available with USB 3.0.

For that I need to install the hardware on the PC. I know that this will include a 3.0 PC1 USB expansion card, I think it is called. But it may be that I will need other elements, except that I don't know what they are.

It depends on the PC, but this is as far as I know. I read that sometimes what we call a Molex plug is necessary, but now I've really exhausted my store of knowledge.

Can someone help me? Thank you very much.

    Laurencewithau

    Hi laurencewithau,

Right, you can use any of four unused pins connector. Or, if you have no connector four unused pins available, you can buy a splitter. Unplug the connector to four used pins and place the splitter on the connector. You will now be able to set a single branch of the four-pin connector to its original location and have an extra unused connector available to power the USB card.

I have a HP Pavilion p6520y Desktop PC model #: WW636AA with a FOXCONN 2 92 motherboard, AMD 785 G Chipset. I'm currently upgrading my ram of the current 6gbs maximally whatever my computer supports. My motherboard says it supports up to 16gbs (since I am running Windows 7 64 - bit), and I'm trying to figure out what I should update.  I scanned my pc on Crucial and they gave me a bunch of suggestions, but I still don't know what I should buy.

Analysis of the computer on the essentials: http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/scanview/65CC1E0131D926C3

Is it smart to upgrade to the maximum ram and what type of memory should I update? In addition, my computer can even support 16gbs of ram? I have receieved conflicting information about it and I need to check the info I got is correct. I will include a picture of my computer listing of Speccy.

There are a few suggestions on crucial, such as the Crucial Ballistix Sport 8 GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR3-1600 UDIMM LP or the Crucial Ballistix Sport 8 GB Kit UDIMM DDR3-1600 (4GBx2) or 8 GB Crucial Kit UDIMM DDR3-1600 (4GBx2) and so on. (I don't know if you can see the recommended memory when you view my scan. I guess you can, but might as well include some of them that I'm interested in.)

Here are the specs of the computer of Speccy:

Thanks for the help in advance!

The funny thing is, I was about to buy this one right before I posted this, but I just wanted to see what others thought and if I'm right that my pc supports this amount of RAM. Thanks for the suggestion and response
