It is an installation and application software, to the difference of the data or information that is accessible by any computer when the hard drive is connected. It is because no software installation binds the application of this specific operating system installed on this specific to the time machine.

If the computer does not and the hard drive is accessible, all the content (such as music, photos, videos, and other information are accessible), but the programs have been installed originally are not available and will not work on any other computer when it is connected to the outside.

  • HP Pavilion x 2 2 - i - 1-10-n080no: HP Pavilion 2 2 - i - 1-10-n080no x do not boot from usb

    Hello!

My new HP Pavilion 2 2 - i - 1 10 x - n080no could not upgrade to win 8.1 to win 10 and it does not allow me to upgrade by booting from a usb key or cd.

I disabled it secured from the bios boot and I put a usb boot first in the list, but he continues to be ignored.

I even tried with a 64-bit (l) ubuntu cd and usb, but neither their startup.

Y at - it * all * way to get this tablet to boot from a usb device?

    Grateful for any suggestions.

OH ok. Yes, I use Microsoft Media creation tool.

The bios will recognize without problem.

Don't forget to upgrade, install not the device.

You can clean install later, after the initial upgrade has been registered in the database of Microsoft.

If the Windows 8.1 will again open, run the tool of creation of media from the desktop of 8.1.

BUT, first run the Windows Disk Cleanup tool and then run the tool.

IF Windows is not running, then you need to use the USB method.

  • Pavilion 17 f004dx: need to boot from DVD to load Windows 7 Pro

I'm downgrading my OS Windows 7 Pro 64 bit because I convert this computer to a computer game.

I placed my Windows 7 Pro 64 bit DVD in the DVD drve.  Previous upgrades of older and other brands of laptops, you just tell the BIOS to boot from the CD/DVD-ROM drive.  On the Pavilion 17 f004dx, the only Boot option I see is Boot From EFI leader. Which I suppose is looking for a secondary partition on the hard drive

I upgraded the RAM and installed an SSD.  NOW I NEED TO LOAD the operating system Windows 7 Pro!  I hope that there is a way to do it!

    PLEASE ADVISE!

  • HP Pavilion dv6t-7000: want to boot from the cd drive, but can't get the UEFI bios

I try to perform a simple boot from a CD/DVD on my HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 portable player.

After I bought it, I divided the hard drive into two partitions, is win8.1 and the other win7.  I tried the boot menu (by pressing ESC when it first starts) and the possibility to enter the BIOS.  However, he will just immediately go back to the start menu, inviting you to select win8.1 or win7.

Pretty frustrated at this point.    I watched a video on youtube where the guy said go to the bios UEFI and toggle the settings, but I can't even BIOS.  Shouldn't UEFI recognize that there is something in the CD/DVD drive and ask if you want to boot from it?      Thanks for all answers

After tapping Esc and get boot F9 menu-tap Options. Use the arrow key to move down and highlight / select the CD/DVD and press ENTER.

  • HP Pavilion 500-210 QE cannot boot from any hard drive.

Good evening. As you can see on the subject, my computer just cannot boot from any hard disk that I put on it. I tried swapping the power supply, SATA cable, reset the BIOS, allowing the start legacy, changing to AHCI to IDE and RAID...

When I get to the BIOS Setup, I see the hard drive and its features, but it will not start or show when I am trying to install a new OS. I'm not an expert, but I think that the problem could be in the motherboard SATA ports, but I'm not sure. Just to be sure, I tried another harddrive and it did not work as well.

I was also thinking to buy a HDD external and installation of my OS on it, but I don't even know if it is possible and I would really like to have my computer working again.

    Thank you for your attention!

Ok. That doesn't say that it is very likely that the motherboard has problems.

  • Cannot boot from CD - Pavilion 513n

I try to put a new OS (Linux) on a Pavilion 11 year 513n with Windows XP, which has slowed to a crawl.

I put the OS installation DVD (and CD other operating systems) in the DVD/CD drive. I set the BIOS to boot first from the CD and off to quick start. It always starts Windows XP on the hard drive.

BIOS recogonizes model of CD/DVD drive, and windows can read files on CD and DVD. The boot on my laptop disks.

    Which setting I'm missing?

F1 made me BIOS. F10 gets me to the Recovery Manager. Tried the keys "F" all12. The computer is so old, it does not seem a time Boot Manager.

It turns out that the boot order lists CD first, but the secondary road captain has been set to NONE no CD. Oops. Once this setting has been fixed, it was possible to boot from the CD.

Its odd that windows can read files off the drive the BIOS said has not been installed.

    Thanks for the help.
