  I bought the Satellite A100-784 with Windows Vista. I removed Vista and installed Windows XP (taken from another non-Toshiba notebook)) and then SP2. Now I can't use internet because there is no LAN driver. The drivers downloaded from the Toshiba site do not work.

  Your unit A100 belongs to the PSAANE series.
  Toshiba European Web site offers two versions of driver XP Intel Lan:

  1 Intel LAN driver 8.0.43.0
  2 Intel LAN driver 9.2.24

  The first 8.0.43.0 has been designed to Pro100 LAN and the other for LAN Pro1000 9.2.24

  In addition, I would recommend following the guidelines described in the installation instructions! The drivers must be installed in the correct order.

  I have an A200 here, model PSAF0A - 0EV 019, he had been under Vista when the hard drive failed, I replaced it, the owner wanted to WHAT XP installed without problems.
  It installed OK I then went on the download from Toshiba site and got the drivers for XP for this model.
  Yhey mainly worked out for video (I got a driver from the Intel site that worked) and the local network is not working.

  I downloaded the Realtek LAN Driver 5.664.205.2007 and it ran.
  When I look at network connections, it shows the net adapter 1394 and WLAN (which works OK) but no ethernet connection, looking at the ethernet controller device manager appears in yellow and when interviewed said that no driver is loaded.

  Anyone can help to solve this problem, suggestions appreciated. Thank you.

  Are you sure that the laptop uses a Realtek LAN card?
  Maybe it's chip Intel LAN s?
  There are various A200 models with different hardware specs and chip LAN may be different.

  Go to Device Manager-> properties-> Details tab Ethernet controller

  You will find something like this:
  PCI\VEN_11AB & DEV_4355

  FRI means seller, DEV, device

  Use this database to find the name of the device and this will help you to find the right driver.

  I am new to this (and other) forum apologies if this has already been answered.

  I had an Equium A200-1V0 that came with Vista Home installed. (As a working machine) asked me to install XP Pro on it instead of Vista.

  Now I have ALL the drivers loaded and working with the exception of the Ethernet controller. I am at a total loss what to do I tried all I can find the drivers of which some of the Vista ones.

  I can't determine if it is integrated into the motherboard or attached via PCI. I can't find any panel below to switch to a different PCI even though she might be under the keyboard (hated to take it apart too much yet).

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Just a note; The laptop was equipped with the Realtek(10/100M) LAN chip.
  If you wish, you can test a LAN driver on the Realteck site.

  PS: If you use XP on this laptop Vista you must update the BIOS to the XP version.
  It is very important to ensure that some laptops additional features will always be available and will work using the XP operating system.

  Hey everybody,

  my 4 year old Satellite L655 1 g 6 has recently had some problems and the hard drive needs to be replaced.
  Does anyone know about a cheap substitute that should not necessarily be the Toshiba?

  I don't want to do a SSD hard drive, as this laptop is old enough, and the cost for the ssd would not depreciate in the next years.
  Would be very grateful to hear some opinions/suggestions :)

  In general you need is of 2.5 HARD drive with connector SATA and these drives, you can find in every store of the computer. Pick up some info on the proposed models, capacities and prices so that you can make a decision that you want to buy.

  In my opinion it's the wrong opinion. Using SSD increase you the performance of laptop computer s quickly and were very quick machine. One day if you do not want to use this laptop, you can remove the SSD and put old HDD inside. SSD can be used on the new machine.
  For me, it's the best solution for you.

  Last year I've improved my 4 years old P500 with SSD and I m very happy with it. The price was only 149 Euros. It's OK price. Change the HARD drive is not complicated and you can do it alone.

  I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about 15-ac125tu HP laptop and questions with requiring wireless drivers. There is no drivers for your laptop and Windows 8. You can try to use theWindows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows.  Please restart the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed!

  You could try in the Device Manager right-click and select uninstall all wireless adapters.
  Restart the device and Windows will automatically load the drivers. If there is concern do a right-click on the adapter now and update drivers and software.

  You must choose this issue of the European driver Toshiba page to obtain compatible drivers!
