Cannot so I install XP on my laptop computer as what bios or he must downgrade before you install xp?

    Thanks for all replies.

    Hello

Yes, you can install Win XP on this laptop with Vista BIOS.
It might be possible that some features of the laptop do not work with Vista BIOS and therefore you could update the BIOS to the version of Win XP (if available) after Windows XP has been installed.

  • Can not play multiplayer on Halo 2 for Vista on Windows 7 error "not available".

Original title: Halo 2 for Vista on Windows 7

Everything works with this game, except multiplayer.  Solo mode works fine, as does sign live.

When you try to play good multiplayer, no servers are listed and the articles Live (number of servers, the number of players, etc.) simply say "not available".

I have disabled the windows firewall, open the ports for Halo 2 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829473) on my router, but still the same thing.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Satellite U400 - update BIOS for Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 64-bit

I currently have Vista 32 bit on my U400. I intend to do a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit. I downloaded all the necessary drivers on the Toshiba site for the 64-bit Windows 7 update. I noticed there is a BIOS of Vista 64 bit driver. Do I need to install this before you proceed with the installation or after?

So, is there a particular order to install all the drivers, utilities and applications?

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

Normally, this update of the BIOS must be made. You will need to use all the features of your laptop.

I have improved my U400 Vista 32 bit to Vista 64-bit. After this update I started the update of the BIOS. Everything worked properly during this procedure because I closed all programs that are running (also AntiVirus/firewall) and was registered as an administrator.

About installation order I didn t find a specific list, so I used this command:
    -Chipset
    -Display
    -Sound
    -LAN
    -WLAN
    -Card reader

  • Change in Vista 64 bit for Vista or Windows 7 32 bit to resolve incompatibilities

I read everything here and don't think I see my question.  My laptop HP dv6-1030US supplied with Windows Vista 64-bit installed.  A lot of my programs (especially older and even including Microsoft Flight X Games) used to install on a 64-bit operating system.  I must completelyy reinstall Windows Vista 32-bit, then reinstall ALL my programs from scratch or y at - it a simpler way to get for Vista 32 bit?  If I can't do it simply, what buy Windows 7 and install it as a 32 bit on this Vista 64-bit OS?

64-bit to 32-bit must be done with a clean installation using a full 32-bit Vista or Windows 7 operating system license.

    You need to reinstall everything.

  • Different auto update for Vista and Windows 7

Computer my wife, Firefox under Windows Vista, has been updated this week to Firefox 7.0. Mine, Firefox running on Windows 7, however remains to 6.02. When I pull down help / about it says "Firefox 6.0.2 is up-to-date." I know that I could download 7.0 manually and install it, but I wonder why Auto-Update didn't get it. Two of us are on the output channel.

Updates to Firefox 7 were off early yesterday due to a bug related to disappear during the update of modules.

A Firefox version 7.0.1 for this problem should be available shortly.

  • HP Pavilion DV7-1212TX laptop Downgrade Vista to Windows XP? SATA driver

    Hello

I want to downgrade this machine because some programs does not work under Vista and it will cost you $$$ to upgrade.

The problem seems to be that I can't find the right SATA driver to use.

When I use a WinXP disk, it gives me a blue screen of death.

I downloaded an update Intel driver pack, integrated in the WinXP installation CD and still have the same screen of death.

I tried to load Windows XP on a CD (the whole OS on a bootable CD)... and crashed too.

I think that the drivers I have are too old... but until I know the exact chipset I probably won't understand what I need to install.

It seems to be no comprehensive manual of the computer, so there seems to be no list of chipsets.

I had a bit of info from the Vista system... Device Manager but not a full number of chipset.

Is that what someone has successfully installed WinXP on one of them?

    Can anyone make some suggestions?

Is there an easier way to get around this?

    :-)

    Hello

First make Vista beckup. Information how to do it here.

Now you need to integrate your drivers Sata (only ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller) with nLite.

Here is the guide to how do and here are the drivers Sata for you and here are the Sata drivers from your.  Just unRAR it drivers with winrar.

Remember, also, that you use the Windows XP SP2 version. If you have not got the version SP2 here you can download this service pack

and here you guide how to integrate this file with your new system of nLite.

In this program, you can even burn your new XP cd with this driver.

  • Hello. I have a valid 25-character product key, but I don't know if it's for vista or windows 7.

The license under the laptop sticker is very thirsty, and I can only read the product key.  How can I tell what windows I have to re-install with and make sure that windows is a genuine copy. I have a message to appear now that it is not authentic.  I bought this used and they have windows 7 installed now.  Could someone please help with this.  Thanks in advance.

Your installation is not authentic - it has been "activated" by use of RemoveWAT to break an obligation to activate and validate Windows.

The machine is a Hewlett-Packard-built in 2008, well before the release of WIndows 7 - and claims to have all sorts of things she gives the right to use Win7 - but the result is that it may NOT be authentic.

You must revert to the original operating system with which the machine has been installed and then upgrade (if you want) with a Windows 7 Upgrade moral.

You should contact HP and order a set of recovery disc for this machine - check the serial number and other details first. and then reinstall it after saving your data to external storage.

Your other option is to raise a complaing with the seller and/or the payment mechanism (Paypal/BC/CC, etc.) you have used.

Since you seem to be in the United States, there is a good chance that the FBI would be interested by what you have to say - they are responsible for software counterfeitng - and a mention of this to the seller can bring dramatic results!

  • Presario SR5507F does not start for Vista after "Windows Update"

One of my friends has a Compaq Presario SR5507F. She is old and doesn't know much about computers. She told me she had a message that an update of Windows was necessary, so she hit 'continue' and walked away. When she came back, the computer was restarted on a screen, she had never seen before: a black screen, with the 'C' and "Compaq" logo in red in the Center, with " and " on the lower left and " and v5.27 ' on the bottom right side.

I checked to make sure that the keyboard was solidly connected - the NumLock lights etc flash momentarily when the computer starts.

We have tried pressing ESC, F10 and F11, in various methods: turn on the computer, and then hit the button, turning on the computer using the button is pressed, turn on the computer and repeatedly hit the key, etc.. All had the same result - the screen with the logo of Compaq, and nothing else happens.

I know that some on computers, but that me stem.

Of course, she didn't know she should do a set of recovery discs, is not so... she.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd be happy to hear.

    Hi biolabprof01,

Sorry to hear about the sentence. There are a number of things to try. First, try the procedure described in this HP support document on Vista won't start do not.

If you can, try to perform a System Restore or System Recovery.

If you still cannot start and cannot access the System Recovery Wizard, you can order HP recovery disks (see the section on CD - ROM order page).

I hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.
