Pavilion dv7-6b76eo: upgrade of RAM HP Pavilion dv7-6b76eo
I created a thread really well here and received great help from @Paul_Tikkanen so if he or someone else could help me, that would be great. Don't know why I can't post a reply in this thread again. They either closed the thread or I'm blind. In any case, I have the HP Pavilion dv7-6b76eo and plan an upgrade of RAM. Currently I have samsung 2 x 4 Go PC3-10600 / DDR3-1333.
1. I think go to ddr4, but what keeps me is some threads I have read saying ddr4 won't even in good physical shape in a ddr3 slot (which is my current) as well as this piece of info from Wikipedia:
DDR4 SO-DIMM have 260 pines (instead of 204 pin DDR3), which are evenly spaced more close (0.5, rather than 0.6 mm) and are 2.0 mm wider (69.6 against 67.6 mm), but still the same 30 mm in height.
Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR4_SDRAM
- 204-pin SO-DIMM (DDR3) have a single notch closest in the center than at 200-pin SO-DIMM.
- 260-pin SO-DIMM (DDR4), 69.6 mm (2,74 in.) wide and 30 mm (1.2 inches) in height, making it wider than the DDR3 SO-DIMM, with one notch after pin 2 mm 144 (0,079 in.).
Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SO-DIMM
This means that a chip of RAM SODIMM ddr4 wouldn't even in good physical shape in the slot of my laptop?
2. well, okay... If I have to make my peace with her and stay with DDR3 can I at LEAST faster DDR3 install i.e. PC3-17000 / DDR3-2133 because my current a PC3-10600 / DDR3-1333 is sorta slow sometimes?
Thanks in advance and would really appreciate an answer to the question 1 and 2 above!
I couldn't say with certainty.
But I have yet to see a 16 GB memory for a laptop card. "Yet."

HP Pavilion dv7 3150eq Upgrade of RAM
Hello
I intend to upgrade the memory of my machine, but I can't seem to find the manufacturer and the speed of the current. I would like to buy exactly the same.
My laptop is HP Pavilion DV7 Entertainment PC 3150eq, currently, it has 4 GB and supports up to 8. Looked the specifications, but the only information it has 4 GB of DD3 RAM and the motherboard supports up to 8 GB of RAM. It does not say how many slots is 2, 4, etc.
Anyone know who is the manufacturer and the speed of the RAM memory installed on the laptop model? And if not to much to ask, how many slots memory is on the motherboard?
Thank you
I. Hinov
Hello
Normally, each laptop has 2 slots for RAM. You can use the following information:
Memory type: DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 PC3-8500, DDR3 (non - ECC)
Maximum memory: 8 GB - Slots: 2
Each slot of memory can hold DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 PC3-8500 with a maximum of 4 GB per slot.Kind regards.

HP pavilion 15-p293na: upgrade of RAM hp Pavilion 15-p293na
This how many RAM slots have this laptop? The amount of RAM I can put?
Here is the Manual:
See page 2. It is said "some models" have 2 memory slots. Yours has one module of 8 GB to total 8 gigs. Your a hexa-core HP processor. It's actually an AMD A8-6410. Just google HP hexa-core and you will see a lot of interesting comments on marketing of HPs of this AMD processor as an HP processor.
So, this is your motherboard:
AMD M260 A8-6410 (2.4 GHz/2.0 GHz, 2 MB L2, 1600 MHz DDR3L, quad core, 15 W) for use with Standard Windows HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC 762531-501
Image from google images:
Looks like 2 memory slots in the lower left corner. Given that HP is not explicit about this in the manual, it is the best we can do. Adding memory will be a huge deal requiring withdrawal of the motherboard and compromising security.
Post back if you have any other questions. Bottom line, it seems that you could add another module of 8 GB for a total of 16, but getting there may bemore trouble that it's worth. Replace the drive dog-slow 5400 RPM with a SSD drive would be a better upgrade, but this also isn't a walk in the Park.

Pavilion G4-2127tx: upgrade of RAM Maximum for HP Pavilion G4-2127TX
Hello!
I just downloaded CPU - Z to verify my information system and found that 2 of my RAM slot is empty. Is this correct? And if there are 2 slots would it be possible to buy another for slot 2 and increase my RAM from 4 to 8G? Thank you very much
Upgrade success with all the problems, you will need to purchase two modules compatible 4 GB guaranteed memory.
The problem is that you must install the memory modules that are identical in every single respect.
Otherwise, you are probably very disappointed when the laptop does not start in Windows.
Purchase memory modules well known froma manufacturer of memory. (Kingston, Crucial, Corsair)
Do a Google search as seen in the following link. You results wil be different that Google provides regional results for searches.

HP dv6 Pavilion dv6-6c80el: upgrade of RAM Maximum on dv6-6c80el
Hello.
I need to upgrade the dv6-6c80el at its maximum capacity of Ram.
My system has now 8 GB memory ddr3 at 1333 mhz (Crucial by Hp original: 2 x 4).
The page of the product on this site indicates the max memory 8 gb, but on ubuntu linux, analising DMI terminal indicates 16 GB memory of the maximum amount of od, so I would like to know if can install two modules of 8bg each 16 GB of total memory.
dmidecode # 2.12
2.7 present SMBIOS.Handle 0 x 0011, type of DMI 16, 23 bytes
Physical memory
Geographical area: motherboard or motherboard
Use: System memory
Type of Error Correction: no
Maximum capacity: 16 GB
Handle information error: no error
Number of aircraft: 2According to tit maintenance & Service guide for your laptop model series , 16 GB is supported.
That said. 16 GB will work, but it's up to you to find compatible memory modules.
Use the Internet sites of memory of major manufacturers and their configuration tools to find the memory that will be guaranteed to be compatible with your laptop.

HP Pavilion DV7 - 4183CL: upgrade of RAM 16 GB for HP Pavilion DV7 - 4183CL
Hi all
Am so confused with all the flying on tech stuff.
You will need to upgrade to a 16 GB RAM installation to get the best out of the game juice. Am running 6 GB (4 + 2) stock the installer which simply do not cut it. Please can you guide me what RAM should I buy?
I can't give a sense of the markings on my current RAM. It reads - 4 GB 2RX8 PC3 - 10600S - 9 - 10 - PS... WHT is to say all? The new 8GB Rams should I buy read exactly the same?
Would appreciate if you could help me. Thanks in advance!
Here is the Service Manual:
Your memory tops out at 8 GB, I am sorry to say. But wouldn't you do better game by installing 16 concerts, anyway. You can help video performance a little bit making sure that memory is in mode dual channel which means you need 2 identical modules. If you need to mix the 2 gig you have in there and get a module 4 GB like the one you already have.
See page 62 for instructions.
Memory 4 GB 599092-001
Games just need a sufficient amount of system memory and the upgrade to 8 concerts has a meaning. The real workhorse in the game is the video card and there is nothing you can do to upgrade you. You have the Radeon 5470 switchable video of AMD, which is well quite obsolete but in no case a terrible portable video system.

HP Pavilion G6 2231sc: upgrade of RAM HP Pavilion G6 2231sc
Hey everybody. I am plans to expand the RAM in my laptop. I tried to do research, but so far I couldn't find any consistent information on what it should actually buy.
- crucial.com doesn't even know that the model 2231 exists at all. System scan returned 5 options for 4 GB RAM upgrade, where I do not know the one who choose (all are 1.35v)
- Kingston.com unknown variant of 2231sc, but as far as I know, it's just a few details like the color of the lid or something, she suggests this memory (with voltage 1.5V, which is what corresponds to the label I found during the inspection of the memory that I use at the moment).
- I found a site that offers system-specific souvenirs; He recommends this memory, which however is 1.35v.
- If I'm not mistaken, the reference number of the memory that was provided with the laptop when I bought it, whatever that means, should be 641369-001 (search this number was unsuccessful) and manufactured by Micron according to the logo (do not know what to look for on their site, either).
I hope this is enough information for someone to help me. So, any recommendations? Thank you.
also, in the case where the template can be found on amazon for a better price, it's a good idea to buy there?
