HP pavilion dm4-2180 wireless button does not illuminate

Following this element thead (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/hp-pavilion-dm4-2180-bezel-repl... I ended up going in a store of the local computer where they fixed the problem of the screen. I have it powered by the store and everything seemed ok, just that when I got home realized that the wireless button does.

Checked well the post on the forum about similar issues, but may not know what the problem is.

1. default bios does not resolve the problem

2. the correction with hard power the laptop, remove the battery and pressing the power button for 30 seconds to drain the capacitors nor

3. the button is always orange, if I press it for a few seconds, the message "unrecognized usb device" is displayed

4. the wireless adapter does not appear in Device Manager, or I get the error message on the current arrangements (only on the unknown device in the usb controllers)

Is it possible that is a material error, when technicians open the computer the wireless card has not properly been connected?

    Hello

In most cases, if the physical button it is an indication that soemthing is wrong with the wireless hardware.

If you are still under warranty contact the assistance of suppliers of the laptop.

Disconnected from the motherboard except course before directed ps button and the cpu fan has become much brighter, but that's all that happened. Any suggestions on what to check? Checked with VOM push and he seemed to agree. Replaced the MB with the new Board of Directors, that didn't work either. Don't know if it was any good, it was a store Bulletin Board.

    Hello Ruka,

Thanks for choosing the Microsoft forums.

I understand that you can not connect to the internet using the Wi - Fi connection on the computer.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you further.

You did it all change hardware or software before this problem?

Try the following and see if they work for you.

Make sure the wireless, as the function key switch for the wireless is turned on. Please refer to the user manual that came with the computer.

    Method 1.

Try to use the network for Windows 7 troubleshooting:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-AU/Windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

    Method 2.

Please try to look in the Device Manager for any exclamation point in Device Manager.

    Check the network card

    1. click the Start button picture of the Start button, type "device manager" in the search box and then in the list of results, click on Device Manager. Need administrator permission if you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2 expand adapter option and then check for any point of exclamation.

Is there an exclamation point on found network adapter, then we troubleshoot the missing or corrupt wireless drivers. And we must also update the latest driver wireless from the manufacturer's Web site.

To install the latest drivers for network adapter from the computer manufacturer Web site:

You can always update your firmware with iTunes. But it seems you might have a larger, likely hardware problem with your phone.

Try to restore the firmware with iTunes. If this does not help, make an appointment with a genius at the Apple Store.

  • HP Pavilion g7-1365dx: wireless keyboard does not work.

I have a combination and connected mouse microsoft wireless keyboard to my laptop.  The mouse recently 'died' and replace the batteries with new Energizer batteries did not help.  I bought a new Logitech mouse and installed the new USB connector and the mouse worked flawlessly.  However, the wireless keyboard does not work now.  If I reinstall the 'old' or the original USB, the wireless keyboard connector works fine.  The new mouse does not work with the original USB connector.  So now I have two USB connectors that are connected to the computer to make the functional keyboard and mouse.  Is there a solution to eliminate one of the USB connectors?  I realize that the brand of the mouse and keyboard are different.  This is the problem and if so can it be fixed?

    Hi ECJ-10,

Well, you answered your question yourself. They are different products, so you need 2 USB receivers.

The alternative is to get a replacement of microsoft mouse if it is still under warranty, they usually do.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Mark,

Please contact technical support group of the manufacturer of your computer and/or forum with the specific brand, model and serial number or service of your computer code (phone, chat, email, articles, knowledge bases, guides the user manuals, forums, troubleshooting guidelines,...).

It would have really helped to know the manufacturer, brand or specific model (not only the family of models but the exact model) of the computer that you're talking about (as well as the operating system.  Without that, I can only provide the following search options which are certainly generic but can help or you can modify as appropriate to better target your situation (including the specific computer model or something else):

    http://www.Bing.com/search?q=Wireless+Button+not+Working&QS=n&Form=QBRE&PQ=Wireless+Button+not+Working&SC=5-27&SP=-1&SK=

    http://www.bing.com/search?q=how+to+enable+wireless+button&form=O1FD2

    http://www.Bing.com/search?q=How+to+Bypass+Wireless+Button&QS=n&Form=QBRE&PQ=How+to+Bypass+Wireless+Button&SC=0-29&SP=-1&SK=

Another option would be to check that the wireless works for other devices (the possibility that the problem is the router rather than on the computer) or with the laptop (so) at a kiosk computer to see if you can connect (which suggests a problem with the router or the configuration of your network as opposed to the computer or the button).

You can also try to set up a new wireless connection on the computer and see if it works better.

The out rule, I would update the networking and device manufacturer keyboard drivers to see if that solves the problem (and it may not hurt to get the updates anyway).

I've never used a computer with a key/button, so I don't know where to look.  Instinctively, I would try to control panel / Device Manager to see if there are any problems detected it (red circles, triangles yellow, white points mark) and see if you can find the associated devices and confirm that they say they work very well without any problem, then check the network configuration and control center for options.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • HP Envy Windows 8.1 - wireless button does not

Hi, I have problems with the new update 8.1

After that I put my wireless f12 key for Windows 8.1 from 8 is more on and off airplane mode on my desire. I tried to download the driver of buttons here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4132&lc=en&cc=ca&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5400...

It would allow me to repair the files and gave me an error. Now I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver but after uninstalling, it gives me the same error message. Y at - it a fix for this problem or should I wait for an update of the driver?

Edit: Also the change button of the screen (the thing that already exists, the split screen) does not now either.

For those of you encounter this problem, I would suggest you try to update your BIOS. Sometimes a BIOS update can fix your shortcut keys and other problems in the system.

If you try a BIOS update, please make sure you backup, create a system restore point or how to cancel an update of the BIOS version before continuing. There may be a problem sometimes when you change the version of your BIOS. I have myself experienced several black screens at the start of the PC.
