HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC: Ethernet card is not recognized

Hello HP Nation,.

Product number: WA6834A #BA

Problem:
-My computer sometimes connects to Ethernet, but most of the time it even will not recognize that I have an ethernet cable is plugged. Looking at my devices, there is no device listed for ethernet connections.
(Attached picture shows my device manager to show something that I do not recognize under "Other devices", I'm not sure if it is my ENet adapter or not, as well as showing there be no ethernet adapter)

Recent changes to the computer:
I recently updated my Windows 10 Pro 64-bit OS.

I tried the things:
AlterNet router Ethernet cable/Port; Result = both cables and Ports worked successfully when connecting to another PC
Troubleshooting troubleshooting windows network connection issues. Result = showed no available connection other than Wi - fi

Does anyone have any suggestions?

After a complete hard drive failure, I installed Win 7 everything works, as far as I know, except scrolling on the touchpad. I went through all the troubleshooting I can find.  The last one I tried was in the Control Panel, mouse and look for the details of the touchpad. It is not listed there.  I can't find a driver to install HP and Driver Downloads. Where can I find a driver for the touchpad with scrolling? The only thing listed under the mouse in the menu of device driver is a PC mouse.

I'm sorry that the link of the page didn't work.  HP has problems with the website support, and even for me at times, page links do not work.

As for the installation of Windows 9, how to acquire that is to order the HP recovery media. It is a DVD and CD set that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP.  You get these by contacting HP Customer Service.

  • HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC: Possible to restore without CD and recovery drive?

I have a HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC for sharing with my little cousin when he plays his games online. The space on the drive (C :) was almost released because of the many games that it has installed. As such, it has deleted the recovery disk (D :). However, now I need to reformat my computer as it is way too slow with all installed games. How can I proceed without a recovery or a recovery CD/DVD disk?

Is it possible for me to buy a CD/DVD somewhere or download entire file recovery on a page online?

Thank you and have a nice day ahead!

    Hello

Thank you to write back, I do apologize to let you Kow that if the unit was purchased in the USA or at the Canada Shipping of CD would be the only country, the only thing I could think is to have the CD delivered to a person in the United States or the Canada that can send the CD in the country that you are. Other than that, I would recommend instead you to get a retail version of the operating system of any local store and install this file on your computer.

  • Used the update and now the video card is not recognized

I updated updater manual update and have not updated anything since early December, 01/30/10 I installed the 5 important updates that were listed, I don't remember who they were, after installing the computer needed to restart and after the recovery, the video card is no longer recognized.  I get the BIOS beep code for no video card or bad video memory.  I know that this seems to be a hardware problem, but this computer worked fine until these updates. Now that the video card is not recognized, I can't even get into the BIOS, and still less actually starting windows. Any help/ideas what caused this and how can I fix this are greatly appreciated, thank you very much. Even a list of the latest important updates might be useful, I can't seem to find a list of anywhere.

    System-Vista Home Premium 64-bit
Palit-card nVidia GeForce 9600 GT graphics card

Oh and I took out that graphic card and put in a different one, nVidia PNY GeForce 7900 GS and always get the same error code. I also disconnected and removed the battery from the motherboard to reset the BIOS, still the same problem.

    Hi JohnyDick,

This problem seems to be due to the updates of Windows, although it could be a coincidence.
I first you recommend to remove the nVIDIA graphic card and connect the monitor to the onboard graphics card, then try to start the computer.

If the problem persists then I recommend you to contact the computer manufacturer for assistance.

    I hope this helps.

  • HP Pavilion dv9704tx Entertainment PC graphics card does not.

    HP Pavilion Entertainment PC Dv9704tx

    Windows 7 Ultimate

I bought this laptop in 2007. For more than a year, the graphics card is not working(i guess). When I open the properties for the computer, the Windows side to the graphic is just 1.  Same little games like Chess Titans work slowly. When I open Chess Titans, a message appears that says: "faster reduction material is either disabled or not supported by your video card driver that could slow down the performance of games." Make sure that you install the latest video card driver and that this hardware acceleration of the reduction works. "

Moreover, when I put a screen saver 3D, it displays the following message: " the screen saver cant run because it requires a newer video card or one that is is compatible with Direct3D. "

What exactly is the problem, is the dead graphics card... ? Please post a proper solution.

I won't give up that easy.

  • 'NIC 1' virtual ethernet card is not supported

We run a HA cluster with 6 guests.  When I try to migrate our vm vMA to one of the 5 other guests I get the following message:

"Virtual ethernet 'NIC 1' card is not supported.  "This isn't a limitation of the home in general, but configured OS invited the virtual machine on the selected host.

I'm still able to select the next button to migrate the virtual machine, but it will break something?  We use the vMA only for the execution of the NSCP APC at this stage.  The vMA is using the VMXNET adapter and the virtual machine was created using the downloadable .ovf files so we did not choose VMXNET.

    Thanks for the help.

    Hello

Do not know what the OS is for your vMA but a couple of things you can try:

-stop the vMA and if the option is available, right click and select hardware upgrade

-stop the virtual machine and then remove the power adapter and add another.

Maybe it's that the vMA was created with an older version of ESX and specified the adapter VMXNET so that the new version of ESX has this as flexible brand.

To the vMA clone/backup before doing so if she has some important things about it.

    Kind regards.

  • Pavillion Notebook 14: SD Card - could not lock SD card in place

    Hello:

I had been using the SD card for alomost 1 year and not, I am unable to use my SD card. The SD card slot seems not to hold the card in place. There was formerly a clicking sound when I insert the SD card, but I don't hear any sound. The SD card comes out as soon as I leave the card in the slot.

I guess that the mechanism of the wedge or the pendulum inside the card is not working properly.

My laptop is out of warranty now. Is there a part that I can't purchace and replace to work or fix existing material itself?

    Kind regards

  • Portege R500 - Bluetooth PC card mouse not recognized

I am trying to use a mouse with my R500 bluetooth PC card, but it is not recognized when I insert it in the PCMCIA slot.

The light. I need to change any settings?

    Hello

Usually, the PCMCIA card should be recognized directly after that it was inserted in the slot.
There is no special driver for the PCMCIA. It s a BIOS according to the function.

What you could do is to change the device configuration option in the BIOS.
I think that it s on the second page in the BIOS.
It s set configuration by OS. I recommend that you change this.

  • SD memory cards are not recognized on satellite A200

    Hello!

I had a Satellite A200 installed with Vista.
When I insert the SD card into the laptop, nothing happens. My SD card does not seem to be recognized by the system.
I tried to different maps, but none of them have been recognized.
SD host controller is listed correctly in the Device Manager.
I don't know what happened, but there is no problem with SD cards before you recognize.

    Thanks in advance!

Hi there, my suggestion would be first uninstall and then reinstall the drivers from your SD controller (available for your laptop model on your regional site of Toshiba drivers). If this does not resolve the problem, then visit the following link to download an update to enable playback of higher capacity SD cards under Windows Vista: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e42fc131-6a76-4b27-934a-fb19dd323dab&DisplayLang=en if this fails, then make sure that you are upgraded to Service Pack 1 of Windows Vista.

    I hope this helps

  • Satellite P200-123 2 GB SD card is not recognized

    Hello

When I put a 2 GB standard (* NOT * HCSD) SD card in the built-in player, it is not recognized, the sd card is not in the Device Manager, or anywhere.

I updated the driver "SD Utilities" and I also tried updating Vista with a fix, but it says I already have a later version installed.

However, the 1 GB SD cards work always in the drive?

Any help would be much appreciated :D

BTW, my OS is Vista 32 bit

The 2 GB card works in other PC?

Maybe its defective or needs formatting.

  • The SanDisk Ultra Plus 64 GB sdxc card memory not recognized by PC even if PC shows these letters to front

SanDisk memory card Ultra Plus sdxc 64 GB not recognized by PC even if PC shows these letters on the front of the hard drive. From time to time I can get it to recognize the memory card but mostly not. Then I manually to the top of my camera (Canon T3i) onto the PC and make my photos to the PC camera is very heavy! Does anyone have this problem? I can't find anything online that answers my question. TYIA solution to anyone.

Simple solution is to buy one of these small memory card readers.  Costs about $5.  Plug the memory card on it.  Plug it into a USB port.

If still not recognized, the memory card must be reformatted or replaced.

  • Card SD not recognized and asks if I want to format it, but is not able to

I have a micro sd card which has been formatted on my pc and that you place in my phone.  for some reason any, that my phone no longer recognizes my card and every time I turn on the phone it asks me if I want to format the card.  If I format the card, or no, it is not recognized by my phone... so I turned to my pc once more.  When I put the card into my card reader, I get a message that my card needs to be formatted.  When I click ok, I get an error message that windows is unable to format my drive... I use windows 7 ultimate.  Thank you

    Hi Leon Szczerbinski,

I suggest to format using disk management and check if the problem persists. To do this follow the steps below:

    Step 1:
    1. open computer management by clicking the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, clicking Administrative Tools, and then double-click computer management.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    2. in the Navigation pane, under storage, click Disk Management.
    3. right click on the volume that you want to format and then click on format.
    4. to format the volume with the default settings, in the dialog box format, click OK, and then click OK again.

See the link below talking to create and format a hard disk partition
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/fr-FR/Windows-Vista/create-and-format-a-hard-disk-partition

Step 2: 1. Here you go to the computer by clicking the Start button.
    2. right click on the SD card.
    3. Select Properties.
    4. click on format.
5 and follow the wizard that will guide you in the steps.

A good rule is to try to rename the map in the format so that it will be recognized as a new device.

After formating the card try to place the card in the phone and check if the problem persists.

If the problem persists, you must contact the manufacturer of your hardware or card to replace it with the new card.
