HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC: touchpad scroll function not working after installing windows 7 (64)

After a complete hard drive failure, I installed Win 7 everything works, as far as I know, except scrolling on the touchpad. I went through all the troubleshooting I can find.  The last one I tried was in the Control Panel, mouse and look for the details of the touchpad. It is not listed there.  I can't find a driver to install HP and Driver Downloads. Where can I find a driver for the touchpad with scrolling? The only thing listed under the mouse in the menu of device driver is a PC mouse.

I'm sorry that the link of the page didn't work.  HP has problems with the website support, and even for me at times, page links do not work.

As for the installation of Windows 9, how to acquire that is to order the HP recovery media. It is a DVD and CD set that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP.  You get these by contacting HP Customer Service.

    Hello world

I used everything on my laptop Satellite uninstalled and reinstalled Windows 10.

    Now, toshiba applications disappeared.
    This isn't my problem.

My problem is that on my touchpad scrolling is not working.
Synaptics is gone and when I try to install a new driver (Touch Pad driver) it gives an error after installation.

Synaptics is installed accept for the uttilities mouch.

    Someone can help me.

    Greetings, Jiska

I don't know what model of laptop you have, but it turns out that not all series of phones are supported to win 10 upgrade.
In this case Win 10 drivers will not be released on such unit...

The touchpad scrolling requires additional touchpad driver...
If your device supports Synaptics touchpad, you can also use the driver for the Synaptics driver page:
    http://www.Synaptics.com/en/drivers.php

But currently driver to Win 10 is not available... you can try to install and to use the Win 8.1 driver but I'm not sure if it will work properly...

  • Satellite A200 - Touchpad scroll function stop working after BIOS update

    Hello

After that I updated the BIOS (drawn from the Toshiba site), the scroll function stop working. I can still click, move the mouse pointer, but can no longer navigate the touchpad. Relocation of Synaptics driver is not the problem. The strange thing is that the computer detects only my touchpad as standard pointing device (port: PS/2) device. "Graph of pressure" and "Moodpad" function also stop working and complain "this program requires a Synaptics TouchPad, and the Synaptics Pointing device driver.
My computer is Satellite A200 PSAE0C-TR605C.

    Anyone know the reason?
    Thank you

    Hello

What operating system is installled and which is more interesting: what version of BIOS you have installed? Why I ask? Because there are 2 different BIOS versions, one for Vista (1.80) and one for XP (5.20) which means that when you Flash a BIOS XP on a computer with Vista installed then some functions do not work properly as the FN keys or the touchpad.

If please check this out and make sure you have the appropriate BIOS installed.

  • Satellite L305D - Touchpad does not work after installing Windows 7

I had recently installed Windows7 32 Bit there is almost a week on my Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5934, and now the tablet to the PC no longer works.

I was reduced to using an optical mouse on my computer. I've updated all my drivers and firmware etc on the windows update software and still I have not been unable to get the touchpad working. Windows 7 had installed the driver of synaptic for the touchpad pointing stick, but im guessing that he needs a special Tosiba firmware to recognize the touchpad for this model. What should I do to get the touchpad working again?

Here are the specs of my model:

    PC x 86 ACPI
    64-bit AMD Turion X 2 processor
    ATI Radeon 3100 graphics card
    Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad

I installed Windows 7 on my Satellite Pro P300 and touchpad works properly. The OS is naked and I didn't install any additional touchpad driver.

  • The touchpad scrolling does not work

I need help, vertical and horizontal scrolling does not work after the computer wakes up to the top of falling asleep or hibernating.  When I initially start the computer since the closure it works and it works again when I restart the computer.  I know how to change the settings for it, like one or two fingers to scroll and it turn on or turn off, but the settings are correct and scrolling still doesn't.

My computer is a HP Pavilion dv6 (VX070AV) and only 3 days.

You have tired of the touchpad driver update? I guess you are going to have Version 14.0.19.0

  • On my trackpad scrolling does not work after the upgrade to 12.0

On my trackpad scrolling does not work after update Firefox from version 3.6.28 to version 12. It normally works in Thunderbird, and other applications. It is a Lenovo T61 with XP Service Pack 3 and all drivers up to date. Version 3 seems to have bad memory leaks so I would like to upgrade, but I can't do it without scrolling. I would appreciate any advice.

Try to change the pref ui.trackpoint_hack.enabled on the topic: page default config-1 to 0 or 1 to see if that makes the work button.

Close and restart Firefox after changing the ui.trackpoint_hack.enabled preferably.

  • You need to restore my computer, now my touchpad scrolling is not working!

Recently, damaged my hard drive so I had to replace it and completely restore my laptop. Since then the touchpad won't scroll down, and when I drag windows that he doesn't keep hold of them for more time before falling only and I have to click to drag them again.

My laptop is a Sony Vaio VGN-FW31E and I am running Vista.

I know that's not a very big problem, but he's really starting to annoy me! Help, please!

    Hello

Control Panel - mouse - look for the TouchPad settings - mine is on the settings of the device and your own tab
may be different (it is NOT the Scrollings tab which is for the mouse). On some, you can activate
and disable scrolling and/or define the size of the area and the sensitivity of the touchpad.

Some will have a TouchPad progam/control icon in the Notification area near the clock - low
    right.

Check with the manufacturer of System Support, online documentation and forums (if any).

    ==========================================

If necessary: (make sure that you have restarted at least once, if the above did not work)

Panel of configuration manager devices - mouse and pointing devices - Double click on the touchpad - the driver tab-
Click on update driver (it comes may not do anything like MS is far behind the drivers of certification), now right CLICK
    on the TouchPad and UNINSTALL.

Then go to the USB and UNINSTALL ALL controllers except the category itself (all in). RESET

This will refresh the driver for the TouchPad and battery USB.

Here is the similar procedure under XP, Vista is the same, except that we need to clear the specific device if present.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310575

Then, go to the site of the manufacturer of the system and get the latest drivers touchpad - reinstall current, if not most recent
    are available.

Download - SAVE - go to where you put it-click on - RUN AS ADMIN.

  • The feature of the touchpad scrolling does not work

    Hi all

I A350, which was loaded with Vista, now, I formatted the c: / and installed XP.
Question:-after installing touch XP pad works but the scroll feature isn't.

Also installed the driver for XP available on the Toshiba site.

    Help please!

    AS

It is really strange. If your laptop is WXP supported and if you have installed all the other important factors, especially the driver chipset I really don't understand why you can not use this feature.

As I see there are two drivers available. I think you should use the Synaptics driver.

  • Y50 - Fn + F6 touchpad control does not work after the repair under warranty.

I sent my Y50 (Win7 64 bit) to get a fixed hinge. Technicians have updated the BIOS, and I guess that's why now my FN toggle to deactivate/activate the touchpad no longer works.

I tried to reinstall the drivers in a bunch of ways. Completely tried their device manager uninstall, then install it from the Lenovo Web site, the button still does not work. I tried to uninstall completely and restarting the computer and let windows install the default drivers. still does not work.

I even tried to install Lenovo Power Manager reading that some forum messages online. Has nothing.

I don't know what to do to get this function key to work again. Work of the other function key end combo. But it does not work.

I would REALLY appreciate the help as it affects my productivity. The touchpad gets false keys of my Palm, so I would like to have this option disabled. Apparently there are settings for this, but mine is not working either.

    Please and thank you.

It seems that "Lenovo settings" is only available for Windows 10. I'm running Win7 64 bit.

Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it.

EDIT: I thought about it! I'll put the instructions here in case someone else found it.

Go into the BIOS, go to the option to load the default settings. Select the inheritance settings and before be reinitialized. It seems that it must be set to legacy so that it works on any OS older than Win8.1. apply the settings and it should work.

Just before I did I installed again Lenovo Power Manager. Although it itself does not solve the problem, I don't know if it wasn't some combined settings that solved. Whatever it is, solved!

  • HP Pavilion: Bluetooth doesn´t work after installing Windows 10

    Hello

Doesn´t Bluetooth work after I upgraded my OS to Windows 10.

    Can someone help me please?

    JimWieder

    JimWieder

Thanks for the reply and the information updated. Check the link to your model and you will keep. Thre is no specific driver for Windows 10 for this computer for now, but there is a Bluetooth for Windows 8.1 driver.

I could start with the HP Support Assistant, as I mentioned and see if she can find something for you. It is useful to have, as it will seek new pilots as part of its function.  If this does not work for you, then you can try to install the driver Windows 8.1 of the support page.  Broadcom Bluetooth driver

Try to install such what, first and then Bluetooth test. If after the test, you still have trouble with the Bluetooth does not, try the method of this other link I posted on how to install a driver using compatibility mode, and then see if it will work for you.

Here are other pages that can be useful for you in troubleshooting and testing, and also that of Microsoft.

HP computers - using devices (Windows, 10, 8)

HP computers - understanding and troubleshooting Bluetooth wireless technology (8.1 Windows, 8, 7, Vista, XP)
