HP Pavilion dv5-1299ee recovery problem

Hi people.
I had updated my Home Premium 32-bit to 64-bit os. I did a new install. I did not delete the recovery partition.
And now I want to restore my system, but I can't. The help is very appreciated. Kind regards.

That's right, unless you do the recovery disks, you will not be able to make a recovery. When you install a new operating system, deleted the recovery partition access and you will need to use recovery disks to restore the system. You should be able to contact the HP Support at 1-800-HP-INVENT to order a series.

    Hello

My name is Salahuddin. This is my first post.  I changed 3 adapter for my Pavilion DV5.

All 3 failed after less than 3 months.  I don't want to buy an another 19V 4. 7 adapter I have another adapter for my HP dragon (portable 20inches) that have the same took entry (to the centre PIN) and the same output 19V but with A 9.5 instead of the original battery 4. 7A.  Being used well.  My question is will the 9.5 A adapter with max 180W damage the laptop after prolonged use?

Can another question, I use another adapter with output 19.5V and a 5.0?  Long use damage my laptop?

    Thanks for your help.

It is the tension that is essential. Use of an adapter with a voltage different, even 19.5 instead of 19, will eventually damage the laptop. The amperage is not as critical because the laptop will draw only as much amperage it takes. Most of the people do not use the amp models higher on smaller model laptops because it adds extra package but weight if the card is the same voltage and it caches and works, you are safe to use. You will find the plu amp adapter charges the battery much faster.

Have you tried a different power adapter, if you have a compatible available?

    Hello POSEYDONHSL.

So neither the hard reset or resetting the memory had an effect on your question?

The next thing to check is the power supply.  Follow the steps in this document to troubleshoot the battery, adapter and motherboard.  Be sure to post the result.

If you are not able to determine what part gives you the questions using the above document, then it is very likely that the original technician is correct and the laptop will have to be repaired.

I consider the search to replace the laptop. The fault could be the CPU or the motherboard itself.

The cost of replacement, unless you do it yourself, could put your costs in more than 50% of the current value of the laptop.

  • Pavilion dv5: if I can reset this computer?

Well, until recently, I found an old hp laptop to my father and he let me keep. I know he has had some problems in the past, so I went online and found ways on how to fully factory reset, I tried many tricks and tips, but none match the menu or options. What I'm trying to understand, is how to CORRECTLY and accurately factory reset Pavilion dv5, which runs on Windows 7 Home premium.

    Hello:

Here are the different methods you can use to reset the PC.

If none of those working, you will need to order a set of recovery disc for the specific model dv5 you have.

  • Cannot install any os in a hp pavilion dv5 - 1120ev

Hi, my friend has an hp pavilion dv5 - 1120ev, he had top, pre installed windows vista. He asked me that if I could make the computer faster, so I told him, of course, you need to change OS to do this, you must install windows 7, I said. So I took with me, put windows 7 dvd, boot from the cd/dvd drive, deleted all partitions, even the recovery partition (I didn't know it came without a copy of disk recovery tools), partitioned the drive into 2 two new partitions, formatted and continued to install the os on the primary. The dvd that I used has all versions of windows 7, 32 and 64 bit, tried all, it gets stuck on the process of expansion, to 0% files (only with one version, she was 14%, I can't remember which), and it gives me the "windows cannot install required files. the file may be corrupted or missing. "Sure... error code: 0 x 80070017. Then, I tried with another dvd with winodws 7 ultimate, same thing. I also tried with the disc do not split into two, one partition, just in case windows is having problems expanding all of the files, just in case, same thing. Then I thought it was a bios thing, he had to be updated, which to be honest there cause of the version it is F.0C, and in the support section of the hp site, I found a newer version of it, which is also described as necessary for the latest operating system upgrade. I thought wow, that's it, I found it, I will upload a version of it bootable, version bootable cd to be precise, cause the bios version there back does not support booting from usb devices, I'll update it and install the operating system. NOPE. The site has an exe of the bios version. I tried to make a disk bootable with the bios in there (with the option of nero boot disc), I guess that I've not done it right, it could be a solution, but I could use some help on this. I also tried to install windows xp, so that I can install it the update of the bios, the same thing, I get the same error, only with the old blue sceen scholl. Finally, I tried to install windows vista Home premium, just in case the bios for a reason any has only accepted this operating system, no way, same error again! So now I'm not stuck wth no operating system, a pc unusable, nothing can be installed on it. I asked my friend that if the cd/dvd drive had some kind of problem, he said, had no problem with game discs, their loading and installation of games. Please HELP I don't know what to do! Thank you

Nevermind, I managed to solve the problem by taking the hard drive, put it in another phone and the windows installation, then put it back. It worked like charm, so the problem is 100% on the DVD player.

    Thank you

  • Pavilion dv5-2035dx: error code BIOS corruption of HP Pavilion dv5 [DEAD VIDEO CARD]

    Product: Pavilion dv5-2035dx

OS: Dual boot Linux Mint 16 and Windows 7 64-bit (no HP recovery partition) edition

HP recovery discs: I have them, but cannot use them because the DVD laser does not (CD only)

    Symptoms:

    • While in the normal conditions of use, screen has suddenly had vertical lines black and gray
    • After reboot, the computer lights up and the fan works, but the screen is black
    • CTRL key flashes white light: 2 flashes, pause and repeat (BIOS corruption)

Hello, I'm recovering from the corruption of BIOS, hoping that it is not a failed mobo.

I downloaded the latest BIOS update for my system, but I can't this file to install on an external USB key using HP instructions to restore the BIOS.

To 1.11 step, I don't get the "HP system BIOS Update Utility" screen. Instead, I get this:

    My questions:

    1. is there an easy way to get this .exe on a USB? (I tried 3 computers and 3 cards USB, WTH then?)

    2. If not, can I just unzip and create a bootable USB in another program by copy/pasting the BIOS file?

    3. is there anything else I should try before flashing the BIOS?

Thanks in advance for your help. ^^

UPDATE: the "BIOS error" was in fact the video card that failed due to repeated overheating. The repair shop, replace the video card and repaired the overheating problem (I don't ask how), and my computer is like new.

For those who have a similar with their computer, my error "BIOS" problem (as it is coded by flashing lights of my computer) turns out to be a video card has failed.

The repair shop, said that what happens when computers overheat frequently, which mine did. Thus, they have changed the video card and solved the overheating problem, and my computer is in working condition.

  • G60-231WM system recovery problems

    HP Pavilion dv5-1125nr

    Windown Vista 64-bit

I sell my laptop to a family member and have wiped my hard drive and tries to perform a system recovery. When executing the partitian recovery, I get all the way to a screen that says that it is to install Windows, but it hangs just there for hours and hours. I tried this 3 times without success.

I tried using the recovery disks that I created when I bought the laptop without a bit of luck, too. It goes through the first 2 discs, no problem, but when I put Disc 3 nothing happens. I wonder if I can use a recovery from another laptop disk or what are my options at this point. I'm a little desperate because I was paid for the computer and am supposed to ship it tomorrow!  Until 3 days ago when I started this process, it worked flawlessly. I did system restore many times without problem, so I am at a loss.

The other HP laptop we have is a G60-231WM. I use the restore disks created on this laptop to complete the process of restoration on the Pavilion? Any guidance would be GREATLY appreciated!

    Hello

Your other laptop recovery disks don't work on your dv5.

I would like to try to wipe the entire hard disk including the recovery Partition and then reinstall the operating system using your recovery disks - they will re - create the recovery Partition during the installation.

Download and install Killdisk on the link below - (this application will write zeros to the entire disk).

    http://Software.LSoft.net/KillDiskSuiteFree-Setup.exe

Download and install ImgBurn on the link below.

    http://download.CNET.com/ImgBurn/3000-2646_4-10847481.html

Access the application of disc kill you have installed in all programs, open the main folder, then select Bootable Disk creators, then the BACK Bootable CD Creator that will burn the ISO on a blank CD bootable.

During the following process do not worry about all warnings as your recovery DVDs will reformat the HARD drive.

Insert this CD into your PC which is unable to load the operating system properly. Close Notepad, and then start again to boot from the CD of Killdisk and follow the instructions on the screen to kill disk.

A brief description of the process here is Killdisk.

Use it to wipe the entire hard drive (f10) - ( make sure to include all partitions and then start the process - this may take a few hours!).  At the end of this process, you should see a single HARD disk, not partitions.

When the process is complete, remove the CD from Killdisk, insert your first HP recovery disk and then hold the power button until the laptop turns off then restart the laptop to try the installation again.

    Kind regards

You could disable IPV6 for the laptop. Some say this helps.

Thank you very much, the problem has been resolved.

The Solution: Run Windows Update and everything will be solved, actually it was an error inherenet on vista (Micrososft ISATAP adapter) so it might conflict with the Bluetooth device, and once the update is installed, all return to it's origin.
