HP Pavilion dv6-1260se artist edition Entertainment Notebook PC Hard Drive Question
Hello, I hope someone here can answer a question for me. I have a 4 year old HP Pavilion dv6-1260se artist edition Entertainment Notebook PC and the hard drive died on me. I have been trading for the replacement of the hard disk and found a 1 TB disk toshiba sata hard I like, the original drive was a 500 GB. I'm a graphic designer in order to available disk space is important in a replacement player. The page of product for my laptop specification does not say if the original hard drive was a sata drive. Did anyone here know if a 1 TB sata drive will work in my laptop? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Your hard drive is SATA. Service and maintenance Guide lists the largest available in 500 GB hard drive. This isn't a definitive answer that your laptop can not use a 1 TB retail hard drive. However, if you use recovery disks Vista to install Windows on it, the more great concern will use a hard drive Advanced Format (AF). Most recent hard drives are AF and Vista will probably not be able to install.

Thanks in advance.
Andrey
Hi, Andrey:
Accroding to the specifications of your laptop, it comes with a processor AMD Turion X 2 Ultra ZM - 85 Dual - Core Mobile, correct?
If this is the case, you can not put an Intel processor in a laptop computer with an AMD processor.
Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.
Support for AMD processors are listed in Chapter 1, page 1.
It would not be the time or the money to upgrade to one of the most numbered 2 processors as yours.

HP Pavilion dv7t-4100 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC Hard Drive replacement
Hello
I have HP Pavilion dv7t-4100 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC, and I had problems with hard disk of the guarantee period. for example I buy in 2010 and had a hard drive replaced in 2011 and 2012. Next time, he failed in 2013 (almost 11 months apart on average).
The last time it failed, the warranty has expired so I thought to give it a try as employment through fixing/amortization of bad sector seagate software, Toshiba... that came out of Smart Drive Error.
I use the HARD drive for some time now, but want to be ready for the next round and I don't know that he's going to be gone for good next time.
Current HARD disk is 640 GB, 7200 RPM hard drive (replaced in 2012). HP 621046-001 manufacturer.
When replacing, can I use ANY hard drive 640 GB? Can I use a hard drive that is higher than 640 GB? Different RPM?
Any suggestions on hard drive?
The recovery discs I had received with the replacement drive did not work properly. I had to use the first game I had created just after I bought the laptop.
Thank you.

I think that 160GB 2.5 "SATA III SSD is good for the system.

HP Pavilion dv6t-6100 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC bluetooth?
I have a HP Pavilion dv6t-6100 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC with Win7 Home Edition. The manual indicates that it has bluetooth capabilities. Device Manager does not list a bluetooth adapter. Belarc Advisor said that the laptop has an Intel Centrino Wireless Bluetooth 3.0 adapter and high-speed virtual. I downloaded and installed sp55138.exe Intel PROSet driver bluetooth, but still no bluetooth.
This laptop have bluetooth capability, and what is the appropriate driver/software to activate it?
Thank you.
To check if your laptop is Bluetooth capable, go to the device and then manager network adapters. Note the model of network adapter, and then check the manufacturer's website. My original card is an Intel N1000, that isn't compatible Bluetooth. I intend to change it on shortly with another model that has Bluetooth.

Disable Secure Boot on HP Pavilion dv6t - b 6, 00 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC
Hello
I have a HP Pavilion dv6t - b 6, 00 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC and I installed 8 64-bit windows.
I installed the latest version of the BIOS F.1C.
I want to disable Secure Boot to boot from a USB EFI.
I started windows in Advanced Mode, but I don't see the option highlighted here: http://www4.pcmag.com/media/images/380851-back-to-windows-7-uefi-firmware-settings.jpg?thumb=y
My BIOS is locked and I don't have any advanced options there.
Thank you
Have a great day.
If you original computer comes with Windows 7, it is not / is not compatible "Secure Boot. Please see "on UEFI and Start Menu" for more information on access to various start up options and instructions on disabling "Secure Boot".
To boot from a valid "UEFI USB", the computer must recognize the active UEFI boot device. Some computers are not what UEFI valid "NTFS" format USB Flash Drives UEFI activate and in this case, the USB Flash drive must be formatted in FAT32.
Use the Boot Menu or Boot Device menu to choose a source of UEFI, such as Windows Boot Manager startup, - internal CD/DVD drive or UEFI - UEFI USB Flash drive. -
Blue screen with the error code and I have no disk recovery for HP Pavilion dv6-1260se
I have a HP Pavilion dv6-1260se with operating system Vista factory installed. When you start the computer, I get a blue screen with this error message: STOP: c000021a {fatal system error}.
The verification of a KnownDLL failed. process ended unexpectedly with system
a status of 0 x 0000221 (0x007fb9c0 0x00000000).
The system has been shut down.
I don't have a recovery disc for this computer. I tried to order them, but they seem to not be available. It is my daughter's computer. She said she started having problems after you download Frost Wire (music sharing), and then she took. We tried to go back to a bygone era and that did not help and then the blue screen with error message appeared. What should I do now?
Hi Yprlvr
It is not possible to download records from the web site, but you can order and they will send you the discs for you. If you can get another option using F11 to work and get the restored system this way, you can make your own recovery disks (assuming that you have not already done on this PC, what a game can be made by PC).

Pavilion N5415 notebook replacement hard drive
I have an older Pavilion N5415 Notebook and hard drive died. HP no longer wears the replacements I can order online. The old drive is an IBM & reg Travelstar 4200 RPM 10 GB, ATA/IDE, 2.5 "x 9.5 mm. I need to know what I can safely replace this drive with." I found one on amazon.com with the following specifications and I need to know if it will work:
- Hitachi Travelstar 4 K 120 HTS421280H9AT00 80 GB portable hard drive
- Buffer 8 MB spindle speed 80 GB storage capacity IDE UDMA/100 4200 RPM interface
- 7.1 ms average latency average 11 ms read seek time format 2.5 inch 9.5 mm drive height factor
What other specs do I need to be concerned in addition to rpm and physical size?
Thank you!
32 GB is only a problem on some old computers... no need to worry. Once you have passed this barrier the next barrier is 137 gigs which does nothing more than 120 concerts can be used. I don't know the N5415 will be executed against this barrier. So whatever it is a disk of 120 Go up is ok and not better or worse than a smaller drive. Indeed, young readers tend to be older design, which means that they are running more hot and use more power.

Comfort provided with dv6-1299ea Artist Edition - How does it work wireless mouse?
Hi, I just got a new laptop of artists Edition that came with a "comfort wireless mouse. The guide quick installation for the mouse seems to show some kind of USB dongle required, but nothing like this anywhere in the package. Does anyone know how to get me a?
Thank you
I was puzzled by that initially as well. So I decided to read the instructions and found that there is a small USB transmitter/receiver inside the mouse battery compartment. What explains that the cover is of irregular shape for a single battery.

HP Pavilion Notebook Hard drive question and OS reinstall
I have a HP Pavilion dv4-2155dx Entertainment Notebook PC, series: CND0053PFN.
I recently received an error message of the INTELLIGENT notification that a failure of the hard drive was imminent (I also had a flat battery as well, thank YOU HP!). I backed up my files to an external hard drive to COMPUSA, bought a new hard drive and installed. I inserted one of my computer come with recovery disks (HP or Best Buy made so I can't make new ones if I wanted to). After a minute or two of hearing the reader has read that I received an error "No Bootable disc - insert boot disk and press any key." Tried several times more. Reorganize the BIOS settings to make the drive to read first, no help.
I then came here, looked at a few other discussions. They were no help. (this is a as http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-e-g/no-bootable-Device-Insert-Boot-Disk-and-... I watched)
I tried most of the things on this page, including download of the boot disk utility, but even after the creation of this disc, I still get the "No Bootable disc - insert the startup disk, and then press any key" error. I then put the old hard drive new, and played music CDs to ensure that my drive was reading. It did not work properly. He also burned a disc as well so I think it's OK.
I tried to make an iso image to the new disk plugged hard upward with a USB connection and this is where I met another problem. My laptop said that there are only 98 GB available on the new drive connected by USB. It is a 250 GB drive.
What can I do to get just my copy of Windows on the new drive, so I can use my laptop without fear of a hard drive failure in the middle of a test for the College or something like that?
Thank you.
Hello:
I can't help with the problem of recovery disk, but if you can read the product key 25 character Microsoft Windows on the bottom of your PC, you can do your own installation of W7 (DVD or a flashdrive bootable) media.
Here's how:
If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.
Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.
Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.
http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool
Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.
The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.
Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.
Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

Pavilion dv6-6145eo: malfunction of the USB 3.0 driver
I installed an SSD drive on this laptop. I used a DVD of Windows 7 Setup Home Premium original. The computer works fine, except for the 3 USB connectors on the left side of the laptop. They provide power so that if I connect a mouse, it lights up. If I connect an external hard drive, I hear he's starting to run, but it will not be shown on 'this computer '. If I connect it to one of the two connectors USB 2.0 on the right side, it will appear on 'this computer '.
Through the HP Web page, I downloaded and installed the recommended driver "Renesas USB 3.0 Host (a.s.o.) but I can see in the"Enhetshanteraren"(Swedish)"Regulator"(my translation to English) that there is a (!). -mark on this device and to information, it is said to "Den har maskinvaran kan inte startas cket dess konfigurationsinformation I registret ar ofullstandig eller skadad. (Code 19) ' (Swedish) "this hardvare unit cannot start because its configuration information is unsufficcient or damaged (code 19) ' (my translation).
I used the driver you recommend, but it won't work. I wonder if eventually there are versions of this computer where there is another type of USB 3.0 hardware. It worked perfectly until I changed the hard drive.
Thank you
Ingemar
Almost forgot to write about how it ended. Well, actually it was something I haven't mentioned from the outset: I had moved this computer a HP dv6 SSD drive to another, I wanted to test the differences of their performances, because one of them had a value more high processor speed - they were not of the same model year and slightly different from each other. Initially, they both seemed to work perfectly. But it was a mistake on my part to do so, and slowly, I had the idea that it was the cause of the anomaly of USB 3.0.
After returning the SSD drive, I had to reinstall Windows and everything, of course, completely, and after doing so the two ports USB 3.0 worked perfectly again. So, thank you for any help and I'm to blame for not to talk about my mistake to move drives between the two machines, which obviously must have caused a sort of '' corruption '' what drivers, and it did not help when I tried to install the correct driver, then. However, I haven't noticed any problem on the other laptop, that have no USB 3.0 ports and uses the "mechanical" hard drive, installed at the factory. Everything seems to work perfectly on it.
Thank you

Pavilion a6500f: can I add a second SATA hard drive to my HP Pavilion a6500f?
I have a HP Pavilion a6500f running Windows 7 Home Premium. I would like to add a second hard drive to 500 GB 7200 RPM to it as a slave drive. Can I do this? And if I can how do I know what size must have the hard drive?
That your system is 8 years old, I suggest you these:
(1) clone the old drive to a new drive, either 500 GB or 1 TB. Use it as your new drive system. Modern Sata 600 drives are 6 Gbps with 64 MB of cache memory. It will have better performance than older Sata 300 players with 32 MB cache / 3 GB/s.
(2) your old-school, like the reader of the term 'slave' was a reference to the IDE/EIDE, cabling system.
(3) all you need is a standard WD or Seagate 7200 RPM disk 3,5 '' hard. Both offer a free disk assistant program to facilitate the process of cloning.

Can I fix Windows XP Home edition instead of reformatting hard drive?
Hi there, my girlfriends A100 laptop has developed a fault where it gets loading up xp (xp with the blue loading bar loading screen) then back to the option screen giving options such as the safe mode with network, invites order and last known configuration. None of these work. I have not changed any hardware or installed software recently. I have a disc of toshoba product recovery, what I would like to know is it give me the option to repair of xp and I like to keep my personal files or it will completely erase my hard drive for a new installation?
I used this disc today but got so far but did not select the option of recovery in the case where this removes the hard drive. This could not have come at a worse time, I spent yesterday reformat my external hard drive, so the only place where are our precious files on the laptop! If I can't repair xp I might have to buy a hard drive adapter 2.5 inch computer notebook to a desktop pc to access my files. Any help would be very very useful!
PS: apologies if there any obvious mistakes, Im using my wii to write this and his age!
Recovery time WILL erase the HARD drive. You should back up your files first.
You have a few options:
1) boot from a generic XP Installation CD and choose repair Windows. This may not work, the problem may be caused by anything whatsoever.
2) boot from a Live CD Linux such as Knoppix (or BartPE XP-based) and copy your important files to the c: (Windows partition) on a USB key.
(3) remove the laptop HARD drive and attach it to another PC using a USB 2.5 "HDD SATA Adapter (they are cheap), then copy the important files and then run the recovery.
(4) attach the computer portable HARD drive directly on a desktop PC motherboard. The desktop PC must be equipped with SATA connectors. connectors SATA 2.5 "and 3.5" are the same.
