  As far as I know the Toshiba recovery disc doesn t ask for a product key, so it should not be a problem to use it.
  You can get a new product key, but I think it will cost something and it s not for free.

  I'm trying to reinstall Windows 7 on my laptop HP using ISO available on Microsoft site, as my current Windows became defective after 5 years of use (Note: this laptop was purchased with Windows pre-installed). To download the file, I need to check my key product of Windows 7; which I documented.   First of all, you can NOT use an OEM Key Code to activate a retail installation. You need the OEM of Windows version. In this case, you can contact HP in your country to order a set of recovery.

He made a check disk on my laptop and updated updated my OS from VISTA to Windows 7.
