HP Pavilion dv6 6120sb early and watch problem

My computer HP pavilion dv6 6120sb laptop has a few problems:
Sometimes when I push the power button it looks completely dead and I mean no response, no lights, no noise, nothing.
I always have this problem when I just have it turned off.
So when I wait for a while (from 2 to 20 minutes) it works again.
But this isn't the only problem, when the screen turns off automatically it turns over when I move the mouse.
And I can't get him out of sleep with an external mouse (own keyboard not responding any more) and no screen after waking up, but I hear it's there by a few windows sounds.
Since I am a computer scientist, I totally disassembled the laptop 2 days ago and the problem has been resolved! Until today
I removed the battery, pushed the power button for 20 years and even flashed the BIOS again by an official tool from HP but nothing resolved.
My opinion is that there is a problem with the sensor cover (what seems to be a magnetic mechanism) or the card supply, but how can I solve it?
PS: laptop is 2 weeks out of warranty and I really need it for school!

Thanks to all who tried to help me.

I solved the problem of deleting a component and making a bridge between the 2 contacts.

As I thought it was the sensor cover on the power supply Board which is known as SW3.

I measured all contacts of the component, and then the CRS gave me 3.3V, Out was only 1.1V (without a magnet).

When a magnet was near him, has given to 0V.

So I deleted the component and filled the will of the VCC. Now, I don't have any sensor cover more (I don't like on this subject) but my laptop working again as it should be.

Contact me if you want more information.

(The photo was taken before that I deleted SW3 and filled the 2 contacts on the left)

    Hello

I own a HP Pavilion dv6 6055-ea and love him

I've been running the RTM of Win8 version since early September with no problems

However, in the last day I saw a lot of gels - every 2 hours.

I would check if there are any BIOS or other updates that might help, but I can't find this product on lists of HP support :/

Will be very grateful if someone can help me with the search pilots - and perhaps with the diagnosis of the problem

    Hi Stuart,

    Have a look here: http://goo.gl/HI629

It's the dv6-6055ep - what is your model? This document here http://goo.gl/cNUc0 will show you how to get the number for your product, that lets you know exactly what you (use numbers/letters before the #).

If you have 6055-PE, you can find all the updates here http://goo.gl/rHAEL .

In addition, be aware that more probably, HP will not in material support for W8 on any system purchased before October 1, 2011. Some updates for W8, most drivers W7 will work in W8. Here's a http://goo.gl/TJCrA document that gives some information about the gel with Windows 8 machines.

  • Pavilion dv6: 10 for Windows upgrade fails Pavilion dv6 after update and entry of password

After updating my Pavilion dv6 Windows 7 64 - bit of Windows 10 64 - bits, the connection to the computer to update resulted in a machine stuck with white (gray) screen. The upgrade seems complete without any problems. It is only after a reboot with the machine being upgraded and after entering the password that the lock status was encountered.

You can see if any of the suggestions in the linked thread works - but DV6 succeed well in Win10, and if none of these work, you need to consider restoring to Win7: HP Notebook PC - computer starts but the screen remains empty (10, 8 Windows) | HP® customer support

I have a DV6 and after many hardships, restored to Win7 because I felt that an older OS where everything worked was much higher than a more recent OS where many things were "broken."

And there is no driver HP Win10 for the DV6.

  • Pavilion DV6-3030SD: Pavilion DV6-3030SD processor and HD upgrade

Hello, I would like to know if I can pass for example the processor of my Pavilion DV6-3030SD with intel i3 M350 2, 27GHz and 2 hearts with every 4 GB of RAM (8GB total). Win10 64-bit is installed and works perfectly.

I don't understand that a change in video (AMD Radeon HD5400) card is not possible. And change the motherboard isn't an option too.

People advised me to change the HD 500 GB SSD to make it faster. Most SSDS are much smaller then my HD. Is it a problem that the quantity of SSD does not have HD? And is there something to check when you change the SSD (specific to my Pavilion)?

    Thanks in advance!

Replace the CPU by the one who has the exact specifications of the Core i7 in the manual is very well. You'll get a noticeable performance gain with the Core i7 CPU. Hyperthreading with hearts more is a good thing.

Upgrading to an SSD will also turn your laptop into a beast.

    Hello:

According to the specifications of product for your laptop, this should be the correct graphics driver you need that installs the switchable graphics drivers the Intel and AMD...

This package provides the AMD graphics driver high definition (HD) and Catalyst Control Center for models of laptop computers that are running an operating system supported. For laptops equipped with switchable graphics modes, this package contains the drivers for the two graphics (GPU). Switchable graphics allow users to switch between a graphical power mode (normally used under the power of the battery) and a mode of graphics performance. If the video output high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

  • HP pavilion DV6 1030us stop and restart spontaneously

I bought a HP pavilion DV6 1030us in June 2009, and the Bios has been updated to the latest F24A.

However, during the laptop running, it will be sunddenly stop stop and try again.

This unexpected shutdown just looks like all of a sudden power loss and happens at random, at least, I can't find a rule.

For most cases, this closure comes without blue screen, and it is independent of the operating system.  I tried to install windows 7 64 bit, windows 7 32-bit, vista 64 bit, xp 32-bit, all OS such a problem.

I don't know if other users with this template has such a problem. I got tired of what I do, still can not solve the problem.

I suspect that the Bios has a problem. I hope that HP will release a new very soon.

BTW, if I update the BIOS, it erases the old BIOS completely first, then write in the new?

    Thanks for your attention!

    Hi guys,.

During the Christmas holidays, I did real progress to find the cause of the problem of restart suddenly.

I am so anxious to share my experience with you all.

As I mentioned before, when the first time I sent my laptop for repair, they replaced the hard drive, and nothing improved.

And the second time, I asked to replace the motherboard.

Unexpected, the reboot problem remains after changes to the motheboard, I've been very frustrated by such a result, I even thought that maybe this laptop is never fixed.

Then I started to search the Internet once again and a few posts point to the power supply and one point in the strip of memory, but memory defective barrette syndrome is different. And if my memory went all kind of test without any error, including windows memory diagnostic tool, memtest86 + 4.00 and the diagnostic tool memory in the bios setting.

in such a situation, I doubt that the power supply has a defect. but I can do nothing with it. I think maybe I make a memory module to avoid the will of power help (I have 2 * 2 GB memory module).

Unexpected, after that I got a good memory, restart occurred more frequently.

Then I suddenly realize if this memory module has problem, so I took it and put in another. and with the 2nd memory module, the problem of restart never happens so far.

To confirm this, I repeated this experience (I'm a sicentist in biology, I know that to reach a conclusion, the result must be reproducible). And this is the case, restart happened frequently with the first memory module and never happens with the 2nd memory module.

now, I should mention that this module model memory is: MT16HTF25664HY - 800 1. Then, do not lack of HP.

So if you suddenly have the reboot problem and if you do not find the reason, and even if your memory module has passed the test, you should try to replace it to see what happens.

If this post helps you solve your problem, pls post your result here to help more people in despair with such a problem.

  • HP Pavilion x 360: stop and sleep problems

I've updated for Windows 10 and now my computer won't shut down or sleep. In order to shut down the computer completely I have to restart my computer, and then stop. If I used my computer for more than an hour, it will not be stopped or he wake up from sleep mode. I have updated my drivers and graphics cards, as well as disabled the quick start. I checked the BIOS and there is no update available. I also ran the updates of Windows. At this point, I don't know what else to try.

    Hi @bn485,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook of 360 and problems with the Shut Down mode and sleep.  I see that if you change the balanced power plan options option in the book will help. Here is a link that will help you.

Go to your power options. Select balance, then click on change plan settings. Click on change advanced power settings. Then save changes. Restart your computer and see if the options have changed.

You can try to use the Windows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows 10.  Please restart the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed!

    You can also try:

In Device Manager, click the arrow next to display adapters to expand this category
Right-click on the graph, and then select Update driver software if more than 1 graphic adapter do 1 at a time.
Select search automatically for updated driver software.

The laptop must find and automatically install the updated driver
Once the installation is complete, restart your laptop.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

  • Webcam on pavilion dv6 not detected and does not load when Cyberlink YouCam opens

I have a built-in webcam and my HP Pavilion dv6 will now display this message with a yellow triangle "no webcam installed".  How can I fix it?  My HP Pavilion really begins to fail.  CyberLink won't let me update software, because he claims that I don't have the full version. Doesn't have installed HP full version with my laptop?

After talking three times to Support HP technicians, I called a neighbor who has much better solutions. HP had me make a recovery (which ended up being useless and superfluous) and then when they could think of no more options, they said, should I back up all my data and do a full system restore. DO NOT TAKE this action until you have tried the following (my neighbor suggested some better options, including this site), but read the next paragraph to see what I ended up doing this WORK!

    solutions

After reading through the solutions and try a few other webcam software products, my neighbor suggested I uninstall the webcam using the Device Manager screen. Once you uninstall (say Yes if he asks you again if you want to uninstall the webcam material) then turn off your computer.  Wait a bit, turn it on, let warm up again, then look in the Device Manager, devices, imaging and your webcam should be re-discovered by your laptop. Once he reappears (mine did), analyzes material changes and run the driver updates (I don't remember what order I have them, but I have them).  After that, I reinstalled Cyberlink YouCam and POOF, everything worked fine! Skype was the video once again and everyone's happy.

No need to do a system restore or send the laptop to HP.  I only wish that HP has been able to tell me about this fix...

  • HP Pavilion DV6-6031eo - black screen (backlight problem)

I ve bought a new laptop Pavilion DV6-6031eo 2 weeks ago, and it worked fine until today.

    The question:

When I turn on the laptop, it starts as usual and the system works perfectly, but the screen is black, so I can´t use it, unless you use another monitor, think I Don t want to. I think it has something to do with the backlight, or perhaps the retroeclairages cable routes.
HP logo at the back of my screen used to light up when I turned on my laptop, but now it s too messed up.

No backlight and no light in the HP logo.

I ve sent an email to HP TotalCare, since I got my warranty (lasts 1 year) and I would like to know if they will cover it.

Hopefully, I will get a response as soon as possible.

    Thank you.

PS: Sorry for my bad English. I m of the Denmark, so it s not my mother tongue.

    Hello

Guaranteed that you have on this model it will cover for you and your English is very good.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-6135dx USB 3.0 problems

Recently bought this laptop, I like it, it works fine.

I reformatted about the day that I got this laptop. However, I can't get USB 2 ports on the left side of the laptop to work, I guess it is the USB 3.0 ports. The two USB ports on the right side of the laptop work well, I guess they are USB 2.0 ports. It's probably missing drivers.

I tried to download Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 host controller driverthe HP support Web site. It does not work. After installing and running the utility USB 3.0 host controller that it installs, a small dialog box appears which says 'not found USB 3.0 host controller '.

In Device Manager, I have two devices that have yellow exclamation points. One is listed as Controller of Bus SM, the other is listed as unknown device. The hardware ID for those who are:

    SM Bus controller:

    PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_780B & SUBSYS_358D103C & REV_13

    PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_780B & SUBSYS_358D103C

    PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_780B & CC_0C0500

    PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_780B & CC_0C05

    Unknown device:

    USB\VID_138A & PID_0018 & REV_0078

    USB\VID_138A & PID_0018

Windows Update cannot find something for these two. I also tried to manually select the following drivers for the unknown device and the unit still does not start:

    1. Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller

    2. Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Hub

    3. Renesas Electronics hub USB 3.0

    4. Renesas Electronics USB Hub

Although I'm not too worried about the SM Bus controller, mainly because I have no idea what its purpose is, I suppose that the ports USB 3.0 is the unknown device because of the hardware ID. Help please!

The problem is that HP is not labeled correctly pilots. USB 3.0 drivers they have under "Chipset" do NOT allow the ports under Windows 7 on the DV6-6135DX. I discovered this way lasts as well as others.

I replaced the hard drive and decided to use a generic version of Windows 7 to avoid the HP bloatware. After installation, port USB3 drivers have not been installed and install the package of the chipset section has nothing. Then I found a thread at Notebookreview.com where someone told me where were the USB drivers.

The drivers for the USB 3.0/chipset ports are rolled in the driver VIDEO package. After you have installed the package of video drivers, my USB 3.0 ports worked. I then installed a video driver up to date from the AMD website and I'm good to go.

Nowhere on the HP driver page it mentions that USB 3.0 drivers are actually part of the package of video drivers. I had to find the info from a thread at Notebookreview.com. Do not this way. HP should be out pilots in 2 packages and put them in the appropriate section, or put some type of ticket in the chipset section on where the chipset drivers are really.
