  • Pavilion 17-g192dx: USB Ports not recognized

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion 17-g192dx that's installed with Windows 10 factory. I decided to give the new operating system a go, but was overall very satisfied with his overall performance and updates of buggy. Not wanting to give up the new machine, I decided to bring it back and oldie but a goodie - Windows 7. I got a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium lying around so I gave a go and installed the operating system. I got the internet running successfully and in no time most of my drivers have been installed. The problem that I face now is that the old BONES will not work with my USB ports. I do not use a hub and have almost exauhsted the drivers for this Web site section. If someone wants to kindly point out how I could go about fixing this issue, any help would be much appreciated.

I'm not as interested to get back to Windows 10. It is too slow for daily use (ma) and buggy.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Well, you must then replace the motherboard. I don't think you would spend up to $400 to get some USB 3.0 ports when you can buy a new machine with USB 3.0 ports already with that amount of money.

    Kind regards.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 - 6123cl: HP Pavilion dv6 - 6123cl - USB driver problems

    Hi all

I tried to find a way to solve the problem I encounter without success, so I decided to join this community and hope that someone else came across something similar and has been able to solve.

I have two identical HP notebook computers (HP Pavilion dv6 - 6123cl) and both of these computers have exactly the same problem. After you have reinstalled Windows 7 for some reason any USB ports on the left side of the laptop are not recognized by Windows, leaving me with only 2 USB ports available. I downloaded and installed all the official drivers from the HP site but the problem remains still. Device Manager will not find the drivers and it drives me crazy because all the USB ports on both computers worked very well so far. What am I supposed to do?

Any help or suggestion is highly appreciated.

    You are the very welcome.

Download and install both of these drivers and restart.

  • Pavilion S5-1204: USB Ports does not: Windows 7 HP Pavilion Slimline

    Hi all

Yesterday all of a sudden the USB ports are not read.  I have cameras and use a data transfer cable or a card reader to transfer to the office.  Now they do not read.  Tried the front and back of the usb ports.   However, the optical mouse that uses a usb device works.   I don't understand how the mouse works and the purse strings of data transfer and the readers aren't.

    Win 7 64 bit

    HP Pavilion Slimline desktop computer

    Help!

Update: I did troubleshoot a HP check and update driver.  The screen messages

USB root hub: this device does not work correctly.

    The current tab:

    Generic USB Hub (6)

    1 port available

    Power required: 0mA

    Solved.

I've narrowed the problem to the camera. Very strange. The camera will take pictures and display them on the screen. But something is happening internally where the image will not transmit or transfer it via a usb device.

I have another device with a transfer device and it works. So it seems I have to buy a new digital camera. BTW, it is a Nikon S2800 - not recommended.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-6135dx USB 3.0 problems

Recently bought this laptop, I like it, it works fine.

I reformatted about the day that I got this laptop. However, I can't get USB 2 ports on the left side of the laptop to work, I guess it is the USB 3.0 ports. The two USB ports on the right side of the laptop work well, I guess they are USB 2.0 ports. It's probably missing drivers.

I tried to download Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 host controller driverthe HP support Web site. It does not work. After installing and running the utility USB 3.0 host controller that it installs, a small dialog box appears which says 'not found USB 3.0 host controller '.

In Device Manager, I have two devices that have yellow exclamation points. One is listed as Controller of Bus SM, the other is listed as unknown device. The hardware ID for those who are:

    SM Bus controller:

    PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_780B & SUBSYS_358D103C & REV_13

    PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_780B & SUBSYS_358D103C

    PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_780B & CC_0C0500

    PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_780B & CC_0C05

    Unknown device:

    USB\VID_138A & PID_0018 & REV_0078

    USB\VID_138A & PID_0018

Windows Update cannot find something for these two. I also tried to manually select the following drivers for the unknown device and the unit still does not start:

    1. Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller

    2. Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Hub

    3. Renesas Electronics hub USB 3.0

    4. Renesas Electronics USB Hub

Although I'm not too worried about the SM Bus controller, mainly because I have no idea what its purpose is, I suppose that the ports USB 3.0 is the unknown device because of the hardware ID. Help please!

The problem is that HP is not labeled correctly pilots. USB 3.0 drivers they have under "Chipset" do NOT allow the ports under Windows 7 on the DV6-6135DX. I discovered this way lasts as well as others.

I replaced the hard drive and decided to use a generic version of Windows 7 to avoid the HP bloatware. After installation, port USB3 drivers have not been installed and install the package of the chipset section has nothing. Then I found a thread at Notebookreview.com where someone told me where were the USB drivers.

The drivers for the USB 3.0/chipset ports are rolled in the driver VIDEO package. After you have installed the package of video drivers, my USB 3.0 ports worked. I then installed a video driver up to date from the AMD website and I'm good to go.

Nowhere on the HP driver page it mentions that USB 3.0 drivers are actually part of the package of video drivers. I had to find the info from a thread at Notebookreview.com. Do not this way. HP should be out pilots in 2 packages and put them in the appropriate section, or put some type of ticket in the chipset section on where the chipset drivers are really.

  • Pavilion slimline s3760in: usb ports and the Internet connection

    Hello

I use my hp pavilion slimline s3760in pc for about five years. Recently my hard drive failed and I had to replace.

Everything was going well until my pc stopped recognizing all the same usb ports in BIOS mode on many occasions (he only recognized usb keyboard sometimes). Finally I have reset factory. The Usb ports now generally work fine, but now when I connect to the internet, none of my browsers can disply any page, even other programs cannot connect to the internet, although it shows that I am connected to the internet.

Is it a hardware problem or just windows?

    Hello again @vr46,

I'm you provide a HP support document: Broadband Internet Connection to a dispute (Windows Vista), which has the troubleshooting steps you need to solve the problem you are now facing. • Pavilion g6 1307ex: usb port

There are 3 usb port on my laptop.but 2 has been corrupted. can fix the usb port? I want to say can I replace the usb port goes shop of any laptop? Please answer me it will help me and others.

USB ports do not corrupt. They are the hardware, not software. They may be physically broken or traces on the motherboard of the laptop may have on topical issues.

Some owners of notebok abused usb ports by forcing a connector inside, that infringes on a physical port.

Broken usb ports require a complete replacement of the motherboard of the laptop to solve the problem. They are integrated on the motherboard and are not a separate part.

So, no, you can't repair a usb port.

The drivers for the ports, which are software may be damaged. A driver problem is usually quite simple as a matter of relocation.

Yes, this means that your computer has one or more USB 3.0 ports. Do not help the specs:

The difference is that the ports on the left are integrated on the motherboard, rights USBports are a card with a cable that can be replaced in case of failure.

  • Pavilion dv7-7071sf: USB port does not

    Hello!

First of all, I apologize for my poor English, hope that you carry a grudge on me on this subject.

I accidentally deleted the bios battery connector yesterday while I was remove my computer (cleaning with dry of butane air blower and replace thermal paste), so the bios reset...

After that, the USB ports on the right were not functioning more, IE. they always provide the power for any USB device that them are attached (tried with fan, external hard drive and mouse), but does nothing else (mouse not working not, disk appears not, no sound windows indicating a device has been connected...).

Here is a list of the things that I tried to fix it:

    • Disassembled my computer again to check if I have everything connected correctly
    • Removed the battery and the cable and held the power button for more than 1 minute and a half
    • Update the drivers (Intel Download Center expandable 3 USB host controller driver)
    • Removal of windows drivers to install its generic those
    • Restore my computer at the time when I had everything working well.

None of these manipulations worked, and the right usb ports (two usb 3.0) were still not functioning while those on the left (usb 2.0 and usb 3.0) were.

I assumed it was a matter of windows, so I tried to format my hard drive, using the tool of recovery (F11).

As for now, complete recovery, windows is installed, but all ports (left and right) are no longer.

They still offer a power of my devices, but won't fire any action of windows.

I'm in the show right now the updates of windows, but I don't really expect a lot from him.

How can that being said, I solve this problem?

I would appreciate your help on this,

    Thanks in advance.

HP Pavilion dv7-7071sf (almost 3 years years).

    Using 64-bit windows 7 OS.

Disk used: Western Digital USB 3.0 compatible with USB 2.0.

Used the mouse: the mouse Bioxar.net & Steelseries (call of duty Black Ops II)

    Hey once again!

Thanks again for your help freedomwarf (and all those who have spent the time to read this topic), the problem has been resolved.

A friend told me to make a CMOS clear, which I planned to do, but I have not found the mutator.

What I found instead was me forgetting to plug in the data cable to the motherboard (only the power of one was linked in).

    Thanks again for your help!
