HP Pavilion Dv6 A5F77AV: HP Pavilion Dv6 A5F77AV no option of DCIS

I have a laptop HP Pavilion Dv6 A5F77AV. I've recently upgraded to a samsung evo and consider spending the AHCI system, but it doesn't seem to be an option in the BIOS.

Device Manager indicates the storage controller driver is Intel chipset SATA RAID controller.

The laptop is running on a processor intel i5, windows 7, Nvidia Geforce gt 650 m.

How can I get the laptop to run in AHCI?

Hello:

In short, you can't.

Please see this post that explains why you should not be concerned...

  • Internal laptop HP Pavilion dv6-6c53cl - drive Options

    Greetings,

I just bought a HP Pavilion dv6-6c53cl Entertainment Notebook PC (Costco), and so far it has been a lot of things. Everything seems to work very well.

Because I do a lot of development in virtual Images, I ran a number of hard factors external to the laptop in the two weeks since I've owned (including an external SSD). All this seems to work well.

But, I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to install a second hard drive or SSD in this model of laptop. I saw on the HP site that some laptops allow for the installation of a second hard drive, but I couldn't find any information on this model that would suggest he can handle such a configuration.

My main objective for doing this, it would be to keep the original 1 TB hard supplied with the notebook, but perhaps a DSS secondary drive to run the paging activity from when this type of functionality is necessary when running some of my larger virtual Images.

Any help to clarify whether this is an option with the HP Pavilion dv6-6c53cl would be very much appreciated.

    See you soon,.

  • Pavilion 13-b080sa: Update Options

    Hello
I'm trying to find out if it is possible to upgrade the processor, RAM and graphics card than the 13-b080sa Pavilion? The question which is the specification I wan't to least an i5 processor, is not available in a 13.3-inch model. I can here also to upgrade other components that I mention, in time. Does anyone know what are the max upgrades? I know that these components are limited by the capabilities of the motherboard, but I don't know what motherboard is in this model.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Hello

The following link shows its specifications:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c04373445

    and its Manual:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c04344707.PDF

From the manual, you can upgrade to i5 and increase the RAM to 8 GB. You can not upgrade video card (or very, very, very, very expensive to upgrade, buy a new machine would be cheaper). Alternatively, you can replace the HARD drive with a faster HARD drive or same SSD.

    Kind regards.

  • HP Pavilion P6746DE: Howto activate Options BIOS fan

    Hi HP supports,

I have problem with my configuration of fan and I would like to get help with it.

I replaced the system fan with a larger 120mm fan. Since then, I have the BIOS WARNING "press F1. Not a Fan of the system' (or something like that). I also want to replace the CPU fan.

I discovered that mothers HP hid tabs in the BIOS. A blog post suggested press F11 or Ctrl + F10.

None of this worked for me. So my question is:

What combination of keys correct press to get the fan control hidden for a card mother Cleveland-GL8?

    PC: HP Pavilion P6746DE

    Motherboard: Cleveland-GL8 (Pegatron IPISB-CH)

Sys fan header needs 3 wire less than 1500 rpm fan.  Noctua 120 mm quiet fan maximum is only 1300 RPM.

  • Pavilion p6506f: System Recovery option grayed out when you use the recovery to factory default reset disk

    Dear experts,

Please help me on what I am making a solution for about 4 hours now...

Somehow my recovery partition is damaged, so I use the recovery disk that I created when I bought the computer.

I used the disc to start the computer and after loading files and everything on the menu of Recovery Manager "System Recovery" is grayed out.  Note that I have not changed any hardware on the computer.

    Help, please!

    Thank you!

    Hello

You did do the right thing. But you created a Win 7 recovery disk, not the game of HP recovery disks.

You can switch to Win own 10.

You will need the product key Microsoft of the COA sticker attached to the frame of your PC of 25 characters.

    Images of example COSTS:

Do a clean install of win 10 If you do not know the product key of Windows 7 on the certificate of authenticity.

Win 7 PC sometimes have problems updating to Win 10.

I really think you should get support from HP Win 7 recovery. If the Win 10 upgrade fails you can always return Win 7 If you have a Win 7 HP recovery media.

    Your choice.

  • Pavilion Media Center a1640n: options of CPU upgrade for an old HP Pavilion Media Center a1640n...

Hi all.  I've been cleaning and updating my granddaughter desktop PC.  This model used by an Asus P5BW - rev 1.05 MB (HP/Compaq name: Buckeye-GL8E), a processor Intel E6300 4x1Go RAM PC2-6400 and runs a 10 Pro 64-bit Windows installation.

I thought I would upgrade the CPU while I was there and bought an E6700 opportunity that is part of the Intel same product range with plug, with the exception of the higher clock speed.  On these two circuits rated FSB is 1066 and documentations of HP wrote this should work: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00748726

However - there is always a but isn't there - the E6700 does not start in the BIOS.  No beep codes or any other indication, just never reveals the splash screen.  I have reset the CMOS, tried more fast RAM RAM slower but none of these things makes no difference.  I checked to see if there was a BIOS later / updated but it seems that it was never a product, v3.17, and this is what is currently installed.

Does anyone know if there are some technical limitations - like model of processor being hard coded in the BIOS or something like that--that it prevents the work or have I bought probably a bad cpu chip?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Howard

    Resmond, WA

    Greetings,

The processor should work as the specs are the same.

When you reinstall the E6300 it starts fine but the E6700 is DOA.

Looks like a bad chip. The only way to check is to install the E6700 in a different motherboard.

    See you soon!

  • Pavilion p6803w: USB boot option is not available in the configuration of the BIOS - can it be added?

    ???

Sorry - NO - if the BIOS or UEFI menus do not provide the ability to select a USB key to start, there is no way to add this option.  It must be hard-coded in the firmware first.

  • Pavilion 15-p051us: Recovery Options

I just bought this laptop last week. Rather than create a new account of MS, I used what I had put in place for a Toshiba. Of course, it went thru and went that the new system has been finally implemented I noticed that all my settings Explorer 11 (Favorites, ect) have been transferred to the course. Not much, thought it was great. So now, I decided to do a system restore disc, but when I go through the process I get the following messages:

The selected boot device has failed. Press Enter to continue (and I do) and the following message appears and the line below is repeated 3 times on the screen so will enter only once. And I choose the one I want

OS Boot Manager (UEFI) - Windows Boot Manager (Toshiba MQ01ABD075) < < repeated 3 times

    Boot to the EFI file

The lower part tells me to choose an option or press F10 for BIOS Setup Options:

Now, tell me how Toshiba got in my recovery program? Microsoft include this info in my system or what happened. I have discussed this with the help of HP and they had no idea, so they sent me a recovery disk set, but the same messages, cannot recovery from a disk. The computer works OK. I can do a factory reset, but not a recovery disk or from a disk.  The computer works OK, but sooner or later, maybe I need to recover. Any help would be useful. I have to update the BIOS?

    Thank you

    Jerry

Once the recovery is complete, you can solve the secure boot.  The setting really has nothing to do with the search to start from the cd or hard drive. It's settings that prevents booting from anything "except" the laptop hard drive. A few rare occasions, I've seen a machine refuses to start once you raise - if necessary just disable & leave.

Yes - HP uses drives from other manufacturers and Toshiba in their laptops. I have two laptop computers HP with the Toshiba hard drive. Search under disk drives in Device Manager - it should say Toshiba MQ01ABD075.
