HP pavilion Dv6 no working usb port?

My HP pavilion dv6 has recently encountered a problem where no usb ports on the computer work, they work if the legacy has a sorce of external power?
I think it may have been vaused by a bad legacy, what should I do and will be HP attach it as its only 6 months old and still in warranty. ?

HP should fix, but if you have bad usb ports it is likely needs a replacement of the motherboard so you must send it.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-6130us: My USB ports do not work!

Hello, I had installed Ubuntu on my computer for awhile, then I decided to re - install Windows 7, and when I did, the two USB ports on the left side of my keyboard did not work. I also have Ubuntu along side windows in a dual boot, and they work perfectly well under ubuntu. I'm having a bit of trouble, and it becomes very frustrating. Yes, there are things that I need to install or drivers? Or am I out of luck?

    Hello:

Yes, your laptop is probably missing drivers USB3.

The problem is that there are 3 pilots USB3 from different model on the support page, so please do the following steps and I stood at USB 3 controller your model and I'll post the link to the right driver, he needs.

If the drivers are not installed, you will see a device named USB controller listed in the category other devices.

The USB controller will have a little! mark next to him (which means that he needs a driver installed for it to work).

If you see that, click the USB 3 controller device.  Then click on the Details tab at the top of the USB3 controller window.

Now, you see a drop-down list of property and it is set by default to the Description of the unit.

On this list and select the second element (Hardware ID).

After the first string of characters you see in the window.

  • Hi, my HP pavilion DV6 1250 headphone us port is burned. Necessity of the replaced part.

Hi, my HP pavilion DV6 1250 headphone us port is burning with a kind of a power back I think. I had hooked him up to a DJ sound system when electricity is out and CAME back in a few seconds, then I heard a few sparks and saw that when the headset plug was plugged into the pc, he smoked.  I pulled the plug, but at this time that the pc had already closed. Fortunately for me it works including my speakers so I can hear my sound through the pc speakers but fails to plug in headphones and microphones. I opened the pc and removed the circuit board that the helmets are on and now I need the part replaced. Where can I get one?

also, I downloaded Qualcomm-Atheros Bluetooth 4.0 + HS Driver for Microsoft Windows, but nothing happened, however, I'm prety sure that my bluetooth product is the Intel® PROSet/Wireless software for Bluetooth® technology (it was the previous windows driver) that I downloaded from this link, and it didn't work.

I'd appreciate if someone helps me.

Maybe your model didn't need driver wireless button.

The dv6-7000 models require this driver running W8/8.1.

Most of the older models do not use it, but I didn't know where the break was.

I just guess that maybe that was the problem.

Unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.

I have rarely, if ever use bluetooth, so I have zero skills of troubleshooting for bluetooth.

  • Laptop HP Pavilion dv6 - 3016 s: USB (device not recognized) problems

    Hello

on my laptop (Pavilion dv6-3016sl, bought in 2010) for a few months the USB connections give many problems with different devices.

The first issue with the key external communication 3G (ONDA TM201) Internet: the USB key (which has worked for many months) is not recognized. I tried to reinstall the software and drivers (get the latest version from the website of the producer), but it is always unclear correctly.

The visible in USB Device Manager error message is "cannot start (code 10) machine.

Recently other USB devices have ceased to be recognized: powered USB Hub (HAMA USB 2.0 Hub 1:4, bus) and the Wired Optical mouse (Logitech).

It is also not possible to install new USB devices (for example, a device of wireless sync to a cuff of training).

I've done many controls of Microsoft on the integrity of the system, and I frequently run the Windows Update to be aligned to the latest version of the fix.

You have any suggestions to analyze/fix this locking problem?

    Thanks in advance,

    Moreno

I know this may seem a rather harsh to suggest method, but at this point, I suggest backup of important things on your laptop computer to online storage. This is because you can use the USB storage for the moment.

Once you have done this, it's time to locate your drives support usb recovery and licenses of all other programs that you have installed or recovery.

    Start on the recovery media.

Use the HP Recovery Manager to perform a factory image recovery which will reinstall the operating system.

Since you say that the usb ports work under Linux, then reinstalling the operating system Windows needs to solve the problem of usb port that you are experiencing.

  • Pavilion 15 n-246se: usb port 3 for hp Pavilion 15 n-246se

I have hp pavilion 15 n-246se and I tried hard to set the usb port 3, but I can't... it worked before, but now it no longer works

    Thanks in advance

    Hi @sohaibadel,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook 15-n246se and problems with USB 3.0 does not properly. First of all, you need to remove all USB devices.

In Device Manager uninstall everything that is listed in the USB devices. Restart the computer after the uninstall, it must be reinstalled automatically. Then put in the USB devices and it should update all drivers.

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that may need updating.

I would like to know how this happens.

    Thank you.

  • Pavilion, A8M2N - LA, lost usb ports

I have a Pavilion a1637c I reinstall Win XP on it.  The recommended HP drivers & updates for XP listed here see the BIOS A8M2N - update v 3.10 (sp35111).   It's the 1st update, I tried after XP & his SP2 set.  Now, I've lost the use of my USB ports!  The bios has updated to version 3.10.  I know that the usb ports worked initially because I had loaded the 3,10 flash bios from a usb key.

I tried to reset the bios to its default values, but it seems that now version 3.10 is the new default.  Is there a way maybe to return to an earlier version of bios?

I have a card Asus A8M2N - LA NodusM3-GL8E with 4 memory slots.  I saw messages on other models using the other Council A8M2N with links to a flash of the various bios (example here).  Since I'm half messed up already, I hope for a little advice to completely avoid bricking box of this lady.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Well, now I feel like such a dummy...  I started a chat session of support with the support of hp, and his suggestion was to have windows to reinstall the drivers for the usb device.  and now all the usb ports seem to work like a champ.  I feel so bad that this box has gathered dust for that long, that's all what I had to do.

I hope that others can learn from this!

After the execution of the sp35111 video update & bios, you may need to use the device mgr and update the drivers for the usb ports controllers, etc. windows.

You guys thank you for the response back.

  • Pavilion g7 - 1117cl: lost usb port in the laptop

My wife tried to update to Windows 10.

He has totally failed and 'lost' the drivers for the USB ports so that she cannot use her mouse.

We spent MANY hours on the phone with Microsoft as they took control of the laptop and tried to fix it.

Finally they told us that they believe there is some sort of virus on the disk, they can not delete? and that the laptop should have something on the 'partition' on the disk.

They were not very clear about this, but he told us to contact HP.

    Our warranty has expired.

Given this, if I do an original factory reset this will fix the problem or a virus caused a wrong to prevent a resumption of this way?

Microsoft seems to think that a reset would not fix the problem.

The laptop came with all the discs.

We are NOT any sort of expert on computers, so we do not understand much of what they told us and we had problems to understand the accent of the person who was working on the issue.

    @Dfaris,

Thanks for posting back.  Yes at this point, you will need perform a recovery of the plant on the laptop.  He's going to wipe the drive clean of any possible bad guys and set it back to the original configuration.

Here is the link to help you with that.

Is it because of any software problem or driver problem or something else and how I will solve it.

    Hello:

You will most likely install the AMD Chipset driver, including the USB3 drivers included.

Download and install the 1 file on the list from the link below.  Then restart.

  • RALink RT5390r 801,1 1 b/g/n 1 x 1 wifi adapter in a Pavilion dv6 notebook works with WiFi on 5 GHz?

The card Ralink RT5390r 801,1 1 b/g/n 1 x 1 wifi in a Pavilion dv6 notebook wireless adapter works with WiFi on 5 GHz? I need to change the network card?

    Hello:

Any card with a bgn suffix is a single 2.4 GHz single band card.

A card with agn or abgn is a dual band.

I doubt you will find a dual band compatible to your laptop wireless card.

The BIOS has a whitelist which hangs in the cards wireless not supported to be installed.

The service manual may indicate a card dual band for your model, but the part number will be probably wrong.
