HP Pavilion DV7-1444us Replace wireless card

I recently updated my HP from Windows Vista to Windows 8. 1. the software works very well but I started having problems connecting to my Modum Cisco home through the Cox cable connection.  The computer worked fine for a few weeks then I had to miss the Modum for a short period of connection successfully until he finally stopped the connection.  A newer Dell computer in our household connects every time.  Is my connection problem, a bad wireless card or software associated with the upgrade of the software?  If it is a bad card, what is the DECA wireless recommended to buy with the part number and can engineer but not a computer experienced person like me, proceed with the installation?  Thanks, gh

Hi 393871345,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

This wireless problem could be caused by the failure of hardware or software. Now, you can go through the steps to exclude the possibilities of the cause.

(1) not having this problem with the laptop before upgrading to Windows 8.1?

(2) when you upgrade to 8.1 Windows, did you follow all of the HP and Windows updates?

To be able to test the unit itself, I suggest the document following "tests to material (Windows 7, Vista) failures. Please select the control using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFIoption and then select the option for the Component Tests. Under component Tests, you will see an option for the Wireless Module. The Wireless Module passes all the tests?

Now I'm longer lines that it is a software problem, compared to a hardware problem. After checking what Windows operating systems are supported by HP (on your laptop), the higher operating system that is supported, is Windows 7. As you have upgraded beyond this, you may be able to find the driver updated, you need the component manufacturer.

To find out the manufacturer of the wireless component, you can always check for the name of the manufacturer's Device Manager. Once you don't have the name, you can visit the Web site of the manufacturers for available updates.

Please let me know the results of the above steps.

    Hello, I need help!

I have Pavilion dv7 - 4150 notebook sr and his mother is damaged.

Would you please provide the part number so I can replace it because there are no manuals or any other information with part number for my motherboard.

    I'd appreciate a lot.

    Thank you in advance.

    Here are the specs:

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docid=emr_na-c02505611

We need to understand from the Manual:

    Manual

the motherboard you have. You have the i7-720QM with 1 discrete graphics Radeon gig (switchable actually) and you have the subwoofer, so it's your motherboard:

With ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 subsystem separate graphics card, 1 GB of dedicated memory (Quad Core) and the subwoofer v.1.1 615313-001

    Not cheap on amazon.com:

    https://www.Amazon.com/HP-615313-001-Board-sys-5650/DP/B0153J13A8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8 & qid = 1465827454 & SR = 8-1 & Keywords = 615313-001

I couldn't find it on eBay. You can try HP Partsurfer but usually the price there is about the same as amazon.com.

If I know that you were really interested, perhaps we can expand the search to find it at a lower price, but I expect it to be much less than maybe $175 it is a motherboard upscale a few years and get harder to find new.

  • HP Pavilion 15z-aw000 CTO: Replace wireless card

Can I replace the wireless card Realtec RTL8723BE in this notebook with capable of 5G wireless?

    Hi there @vht1951,

I understand that you are looking for more information on the issue of whether a module compatible to add the functionality of dual band for your laptop is available.

Looking at the: HP Pavilion Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service of Guide from the support page for your model, page 3 (13 of 94 in the pdf file), it enumerates wireless adapters, which is: Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 802.11 ac 1 x 1 WiFi + BT Combo Adapter 4.2.

If you find your model on the HP parts store, the part is listed as: '806723-005 Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 802.11 ac 1 x 1 WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2 combination WLAN fit' and is currently listed as for the remainder.

You can check the site later to see the availability or the other site HP Partsurfer, to see if you there is a seller who might already own part.

I hope that helps and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • Pavilion m7: get my wireless card to work fully

    Hello

When I got this laptop, I was getting decent internet speeds. However, my speeds are maxing out around 40mbps now and I don't know why or how remedy. I tried uninstalling the driver and let it reinstall, and it does not help. I even deleted the driver completely and downloaded from the HP site. I pay for speeds of 75mbps and get around 75-80 on all other devices in my house.

My wireless card is Ralink RT5390R. I have read some other forums of people with problems and the desire to replace this card, but never really found a solution. I'm not quite at the point of wanting to replace it yet, but would appreciate really any ideas to get this race as it should.

    I have a laptop HP Pavilion m7 with product number: B4T70UA #ABA.

Any ideas are appreciated! In addition, if you can point me in the direction of the best wireless card to install on the PC that is compatible, it would be also great assistance!

    Thank you

    Chris

Ralinks rightly get a lot of bad press.

HP provides the manual for your model dv7:

    Manual

    See Page 55.

All other wireless cards, you can use are wifi + bluetooth, but none of them would be better than the Ralink. The reference to the Intel Advanced - N 6230 is a mistake. In fact, if you're looking for this part number 670691-001 you will find that it is really the part number of your card Ralink. There is no card dual band. And since your model always uses the white list of the BIOS, you MUST use a numbered card wifi HP part.

I would like to get this one:

  • Pavilion DV7-6195us: reliable wireless connection

It is of a Pavilion DV7-6195us. It connects wireless to a provided Comcast router/gateway. My connection drops randomly, and my solution was to click on the bottom wireless icon to the right of the taskbar, disconnect my network, wait 5 seconds and reconnect. It is successful in 90% of cases.

I looked in Device Manager > network adapters and see: Intel Centrino Wireless n 1000 #2, Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter #2, Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport adapt #3 and Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.

This laptop was bought second-hand from a guy who did the free update for Windows 10 without doing all the preparation work. I restarted it in Win 7, 64 bit. The laptop is starting in 2012 and I did the best I could to update the latest drivers, but trying to install the latest WiFi driver gave me the message that says that the driver installed is newer than the one I tried to install. The current version of the driver is 15.11.0.7 as of 1/26/2014(Intel Centrino). I don't know why it is a #2, and I do not know whence the Microsoft Virtual Miniport #2 and #3. Their versions of the drivers are identical and are dated from 2006.

I wonder if they interfere with the Intel N 1000? Should I uninstall them? Is there a driver later for the Centrino N 1000 found somewhere other than to HP support site?

My goal here is to stabilize my connection to my wireless router.

My wife's cell phone is a Dell Inspiron which is located not far from where my laptop is, about the same distance from the router, and she has no problem connecting.

    Thank you.

    @skaler,

Sorry, I sent the graphic driver not the network driver.

Again, I am sorry that I did.

HP pavilion dv7-3020et my pc pls uprage graphics card help

It is really not an option. The video is part of the motherboard, welded, so there is nothing to go out and trade for something else. You might be able to find a motherboard with slightly better graphics, but it would still be old and weak by today's standards.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6c63nr: PAvilion dv7 motherboard replacement

    Hello

I've had my HP Pavilion stored long. A few days ago I tried to turn it on: when I plugged in the charger and the Power button, it turned on for a second but a spark came out of the base of the laptop and recognized this classic a smell of burning plastic. No matter what I did, the laptop does not start or respond to a door.

After watching carefully and research, I came to the conclusion that the motherboard has been damaged in sévery (he had burned).

I was wondering how much it cost me to get a replacementet for the motherboard, or if it can be fixed. I know this laptop is a bit old, but it's a great model and brand new and I want to know if it is reasonable to make it work again.

  • Pavilion Touchsmart 15-n022sa: upgrade of the HP Pavilion Touchsmart 15-n022sa wireless card

I want to upgrade the Wifi card the currently disappointing Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11 b/g/n wifi adapter to the 802.11a/b/g/n Intel 6230 Wireless N WiFi Bluetooth BT 3.0 a half size PCI-E card dual band 2.4/5.0 GHz I heard much talk about the notrorious 'white list '.

I've found a few documents: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04438537 , but none of the compatible cards listed have 5 ghz, bluetooth and ubuntu support.

    This upgrade is not possible?

    SOLUTION:

The wifi worked and both antennas were present. Bluetooth, however, did not work until I did the following:

I followed the instructions on post # #50 here https://communities.intel.com/thread/31247?start=45 & tstart = 0 which involved recording pin 51 (the right most pin with the card with ports antenea face) and it worked a treat. Apparently, it's also possible with the software in the HP connection manager, but apparently it is not supported on windows 10.

There was no driver installation necessary.

    Hello:

HP removed the BIOS of their whitelists notebooks about 18-24 months, if the Intel 6230 card should work just fine.

What may be a bigger problem than many laptops equipped with the Realtek RTL8188EE 802. 11 b/g/n WiFi adapter have only 1 antenna connected to the card, instead of the normal two.

I can't make you what models, and those who didn't and the maintenance manual will normally show photos in the withdrawal of the wireless card and the section replacing the card always have 2 antennas connected to it.

You have to be willing and able to take the laptop everything hand, including the area of display panel, install a second dish (should be required).

A dual-band card will not work with only an antenna connected to it.

  • HP pavilion DV7-4026TX: replacement of LCD for HP pavilion DV7-4026TX

    Hi guys,.

As my lcd screen is not working properly (green is on the screen), I would like to order a replacement, but I discovered that there are 3 number of parts that are not suitable for my model (HP pavilion dv7-4026TX), that should be the right pair to order?

    605324-001, 605325-001 & 605327-001

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you very much!

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

    I actually see this:

For use only with the HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC computer 40xx models 605337-001

Therefore, it appears none of those you have listed is the right one.

This is the one above on eBay:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/laptop-LCD-screen-for-HP-605337-001-17-3-WXGA-/171666956363?PT=LH_DefaultDomain_0 & Hash = item27f825e04b

The smartest thing is to remove the old Panel before you buy a new. The part number of the manufacturer (Samsung, LG, etc) screen down from the back of the Panel and make sure that you understand how it connects and then store the Panel-based and not by part number of the manufacturer of the laptop. You will have a wider choice of products and you'll be sure of the compatibility and maybe even save a buck or two. Panels of the screen are a part of the product and the same panels will be used in many models of laptop by several manufacturers. If you really understand what you're doing you can use any display of the same type of resolution and the connection, but you must make sure that all the plugs are the same.

  • HP Pavilion 15 laptop: compatible wireless cards

I am trying to find out what wireless cards are on my list of white laptops, model No.: 15-e000sa, I want to upgrade if possible. also could you tell me if I am able to update with more ram fast ddr3 1866 or would it just be underclocked to 1600

    Thank you very much

    Hi @slapdash2201

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

To answer your questions on compatible wireless cards and memory, I included the maintenance manual:

HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide

Specifications: channel support double DDR3L (1600 MHz), so it is likely that it would just be less quick.

And what follows is listed as of the supported WIFI adapters:

MediaTek MT7630E 802.11bgn Wi - Fi adapter and adapter Mediatek Bluetooth4.0
    Atheros 802.11b/g/n WiFi AR9485 adapt
    WiFi 802.11b/g/n 1 × 1 Ralink RT3290LE and adapter Combo Bluetooth 4.0
    Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11bgn Wi - Fi adapter

This doesn't mean you can't try something else, as long as it is compatible in size, but it would mean HP don't would not have custom drivers for it, and so there is no guarantee that it would work.

    I hope this helps.

If you are prompted for a driver to support the hard drive during the installation of Windows? It's because the Manager of storage on this laptop isn't RAID, AHCI and Windows 7 isn't this RAID driver available on the installation disc. But fear not only intel makes the driver available here:

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/24779/Intel-rapid-storage-technology-Intel-RST-RAID-driver

You need the F6 driver for 32 or 64 bit one correct installation that you do.  If 64-bit, you must f6flpy-x 64.zip. These are compressed files (.zip). Download the .zip to a different computer and extract the .zip to a USB key and when you reach him point the Windows installation when it is asked for a driver, navigate to the location where the files were extracted from the thumb drive. This should allow you to proceed with the Windows installation.
