  • Pavilion dv7-4285dx hard drive

The hard drive on 2 years, Pavilion dv7-4285dx of my son is dead. It's a Samsung HM641JI, 640 GB, 5400 RPM. can anyone recommend a good replacement for this notebook drive? The new drive can we (GB) smaller than the original? Should I just stick with the same Samsung drive? Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you.
PS - I use the recovery discs just purchased from HP to restore the new drive.

    Hello

You can use standard HDD from other providers. Nowadays people need more space, go for a larger HARD drive, it's a wise move. The recovery disc may not install on a smaller HARD disk because it will put your machine back to the factory settings.

  • Pavilion dv7, 1016nr: hard drive card on HP laptop Toshiba

I had a HP used off craigslist, because my Toshiba laptop crashed. I replaced the hard drive with the Toshiba, but now, the CPU it's again a Toshiba! He's trying to look for records that do not exist, the bitrate is mixed up, and I can't do certain things because of this!

The operating system was the Toshiba, and I don't know what specifications are contained in the hard disk. Help, please!

I know, but the problem is the hard disk that came with it is FULL of viruses, and I don't want to connect two of them in the same device, or even that you use at all. I'm on an allowance now, so I can't exactly buy a new, can't use both at the same time, otherwise the laptop overheats.

I could try using Malwarebytes on that hard drive and transfer files from the old and hopefully get Speedfan to find the fan that cools this thing.

WoW! t helps a lot when you have something to talk about when things to know!

I have that now to 1 question: what are the functions of the computer are stored in the hard drive?

(also, is a sale "day of service", or am I just lucky?) (More ugly. Emoji. Never.))

  • Pavilion dv7 - 4263cl: hard drive problems

Long story short, OS could not start windows with a missing BOOTMGR message, recovery disc, not work, ordered new HP recovery disks.  To cover, I ordered a new hard drive to replace it, with the same characteristics but a 1 Toshiba to.

OK, installed the hard drive and used recovery disks at HP, but when you restart always get BOOTMGR missing error message.  Make a new recovery disk for windows 7 64 bit internet and serious on a bootable CD.  It starts, but found recovery does not list an OS system on hard drive.   Did the hard restart more once, install hardrive checked again, the cables and connections.  Took another installation of the HP recovery discs and also led a bootable disc that was to fix the problems with installing a new HHD and activation of the HHD working properly. Working always nothing. Get the same message.  Cast recovery manager got into the prompt orders and done a repair of the bootrec nothing / new. Checked the directory and found at the bottom of the list that it lists zero OS System.  So, how can I get my hard drive formatted to accept the installation of the OS? Any ideas to try, I have read and tried all the messages, I could very well on this forum.   Thank you...

Thanks for the reply, yes my hard drive failed and I installed a new one, but after using the purchased HP recovery disc though HP, showed that a black bootmgr error saying screen was missing.

Found on the HP disks partitioned hard drive, with windows on X:\ but was again start-up C:\ which was just a recovery image.   X drive was not complete, he lacked all the drivers and could not activate or change and C disc drive letter. I didn't know how to do this in the command prompt.

Fixed my problem with a windows 7 installation no disc not the recovery disks that came from HP, if all goes well, they will work to reinstall all drivers to the laptop, but we'll see.  Used (computer repair) on the installation disk and it repaired the bootmgr.  Thanks anyway...

  • HP Pavilion p6620f PC: impossible to remove Hard Drive Cage to desktop

    Hello

I am trying to replace the hard drive on my desktop, but I currently have a problem with the removal of the metal cage that surrounds the hard drive. This is the recommended method to replace the hard drive, according to these instructions: http://www.manualslib.com/manual/359309/Hp-Pavilion-P6230f.html?page=21#manual

I'm stuck on step 13 for this manual in particular. I press the "#1" lock and pull forward, but he's not slide forward. I'm not sure what hurts me, but the thing does not move. Guys do you have an idea what I can do wrong? Thank you.

    Hello

Drag the HARD drive cage to the top of the PC while pressing the lock.

Then pull the cage out of the tower.

I have a h8 1380t with the same HARD drive cage.

  • The Pavillion desktop hard drive cage removal

My computer warns of hard drive failure imminent, so I record everything with cloning software, got a new drive and opened the compujter to disks.

My computer has a "flag" on the front, but no label product identification!  Support forum for HPs shows how to remove the hard drive on two different cage styles desktop Pavilion, but mine is completely different.  Because I can't find a model number or product, I can't ask HP about it through their support email system.

The right side of the casing comes off, but the left side is riveted in place permanently.  There are two screws holding the cage to the frame, but after removing the cage remains stationary.

    Any suggestions?

  • How to remove HP Pavilion a1514n desktop hard drive?

I just bought a new desktop computer and need to take my old one at Best Buy for recycling, and I know that they charge to remove the hard drive.

I have opened the case and pulled out the 2 screws that hold the drive hard into the cage and disconnected the cables... but I can't get to the two screws on the opposite side, who seem to hold the drive in place.

  • HP Pavilion G6: replacement hard drive on hp pavilion g6

Im trying to replace a hard drive on a HP pavilion G6 model number is G6 2239dx so I looked hard drives compatible with this model number that I did not buy directly from HP for a heavy sum. I found the other G6 drives with different model numbers, now I know that I certainly need the model number to order the Pack recovery but on the hard drive. It is somehow specific model number or can I use a hard drive from a 1B79dx of G6 G6 model number or any other g6 also. I'm new on this and do not want to buy something I can't use and have not been able to find clear information, I'm looking for. Any help is appreciated!

    Hello

Basically you can use any standard laptop HARD drive. But please use Hitachi or Toshiba. HP machines use Toshiba HDD much. You don't need special HARD drive to your machine.
