  I read your message and understand that your HP Pavilion dv7 is not lit. This type of problem can be cause be a hardware or BIOS problem.

  The power button lights up at all?

  Are there flashing lights on the plug of the lock or num lock keys?

  Is there noise beeps?

  Do you here the fan / HDD starts?

• Pavilion DV7-4069WM missing on the PartSurfer for parts search

  I'm looking into purchasing to a Pavilion DV7-4069WM, and I was looking at the type of RAM it uses. I used to work for HP, so I am very familiar with HP PartSurfer (via http://partsurfer.hp.com ). I have however questions locate this laptop out there to find the related parts. I tried to get two using search and hierarchy, and I found the part number for the machine using the hierarchy but no result when you click it.

  I also tried the parts through http://h20141.www2.hp.com/hpparts/ store, where once more no results don't come to try to search for the product (tried by product name and product number).

  Does anyone know if there is another way to find which parts are used for the machine in question? Thanks in advance.

  There are two ways.

  The easiest way is to do a search of RAM upgrade.

  The results that I trust are companies like OCZ, Crucial, Kingston and other companies high level due to their compatibility guarantee, on which I found this update memory for laptop that you asked.

  Note: the only known problem I have is that I can't print to a printer USB connected in local (HP 5280).  Curious, the printer PC utility I can print a test page.  Microsoft Office 2007 apps, not printing.

  I get the same error message.

  It seems to be related to my D - Link DIR-655 Router and software (offered through D-Link) called "SharePort," which allows the USB port at the back of the router to use for networking!

  I have 5 PCs on my home network and printer. With installed Shareport, I connected my printer to the router via the USB port. I don't have to have the computer on it, I used initially to install the printer.

  To access the printer on any PC, I just have the icon in my taskbar.

  The error message is displayed because, by default, SharePort is closed and it reads it as "not installed"!

  I used it with Vista and Windows 7 Ultimate x 32 and x 64 with no problems!

  Just as with the 'coprocessor' "impossible to install driver" error message, I uninstalled them in (several times) Device Manager and the error messages no longer appear!

  So, in my case, the messages themselves were the only mistake!

  FYO: Coprocessor refers to hardware devices such as fingerprint security to access your PC, instead of a password!

• Pavilion dv6095 does not turn on

  I have a Pavilion dv6095, who decided to not turn on. By pressing the power button has no effect. By pressing the QuickPlay allows him to start - the usual XP boot then it starts to quickplay. From there he will play CD, DVD etc ok but it does not start as a computer. In the QuickPlay menu, by selecting the windows icon causes the machine display the XP tell it goes into hibernation. I managed to start PS windows once (enough for me to be able to save documents, etc.), but he now refuses to do. I would like to try a restore, but without being able to start, I can't do. Is there another way to start?

  Sort problem!  The tablecloth from the motherboard to the power button has been partially dislodged the ZIF socket mobo, also had slightly irregular so replaced and everything look now AOK.  Only slight query is that it doesn't seem to be a lock bar of the support to the mobo, unlike that on the button Board.  Don't know if there should be one or not so just had to lighten the Ribbon in and out of the socket.

  so, my HP Pavilion dv7 laptop computer 1003eo won't start. When I turn on it, all the light light up and I hear the usual fan noise but the screen remains black.

  I removed the charger and the battery and press the power one button couple of times (and held it for about 30 seconds). Unfortunately, which did not help.

  I also tried replacing the RAM modules, but I am always greeted by the same black screen.

  Is there anything else that I could do or should I just accept the fact that the phone is dead?

  I think that you blew your laptop Cpu or Gpu.

  Because there is no screen.

  You can try to remove the battery and press the power button 10 times.

  Then leave it for an hour.

  I need assistance or advice from those who have more experience or a more extensive knowledge in this area. I'm working on an HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook pc. Product # is LW181UA #ABA. It has a CPU of 2 gig Hz Intel i7, 8 GB of memory (2 4 gig mem modules), a Hitachi 750 gigbyte HD. He ran and passed the tests of memory, burn in tests, tests of hard drive and startup tests that are run by pressing F2 during power on. When you arrive at the start of the operating system screen. It has Windows 7 64-bit version of the operating system. Then he begins to show the bar graph to slip at the bottom of the screen shows the percent of loading hangs and emits a constant beeeping. If I try to go for repair options or selections of recovery, it does the same thing. For me, I don't see how I can have a hardware problem because it seems to pass memory, disk and start diagnosis?   My Pavillion dv7 - 4183cl laptop turns off its own without any warning or error messages and then restarts asking power on the passsord, etc. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. Occurrences are more frequent over time.

  The first thing I would check is your laptop fan. You hear it works while the laptop is on, or it is disabled? If the fan fails, the laptop overheats. To protect themselves, the laptop turns off. It could also be that you have little dust blocks the air fan. The best option is to have someone to disassemble the laptop and clean, but some people have managed with the help of compressed air. The problem with this is that it blows back into the laptop. Perhaps vacuum?

  A farily common problem with most laptops is the integrated graphics processors. Over time, the GPU becomes disattached from the motherboard.   We bought a HP Pavilion laptop i5, windows 8, in February of this year.  Work is to put in and the laptop will not turn on.  There is no light appearing at all, even when it is plugged in for charging.  We tried the shutdown method hard to take out the battery, press the power button for 15 seconds, but it did not work. Until then, the laptop worked perfectly. Can anyone suggest anything else to try?   From your description, it's almost certainly a hardware failure.

  My best advice in view of your laptop is still under warranty, would be to contact HP and will make repair - if necessary, you can check the status of your warranty here.

  Hi I noticed recently that my laptop Pavilion dv7 entertainment will not play sound through the TV. The image is on the tv but its is running through the speakers of the laptop?   Try to use Recovery Manager to reinstall your graphics driver AMD package as this will also reinstall the driver Audio HDMI AMD - how to use the Recovery Manager to reinstall the software and drivers is detailed in the document in question on the link below.

  After reinstalling, restart the laptop.

• Pavilion dv7: DVD not to be read in the drive.

  No reason apparent that my HP Pavilion dv7 stopped reading DVD, it worked one day, the next whirred just and nothing. There seems to be no mention of the 'computer' drive that says "Devices with removable storage" etc, either. There is no error message and I don't think that I have accidentally can I do something for this set.

  We have the complete model number, please? Can it read CDs? Sometimes one of the lasers is bad and the drive must be replaced. It can also be a software problem, but a way to quickly check is to try to boot from a bootable DVD as a Windows install disc or HP recovery disk. If it is unable to boot from DVD it means it's a hardware problem. Replacement disks are low-cost, perhaps $35 or more and super easy to replace. Generally a screw must be removed from the slipped disc and the IPLs of replacement in, live replaced.

  You can buy the processor from a dealer renowned for $15 with free shipping. That should tell you what the demand is for her. Basically obsolete.

  I replaced motherboards in several series dv7-1000, and it is one of the harder to take apart laptops. Many cables in strange tablecloth and Remora in all directions.

• Pavilion 23bw does not turn on

  I bought brand new tonight (04/08/14) the HP Pavilion 23bw. My OS is Windows 7. I plugged everything. Everything worked perfectly. I put the disc in and everything was fine. I did the reboot. Screen is out and will not light back. I disassembled everything back and started from scratch several times, but that the light in the back says that it is powered the screen not coming back. I read online that the lock on the monitor have been activated and to turn off, press and hold the power button on the monitor for 10 seconds. There is nothing. I got the screen for 2 hours and it won't work. Can someone help me before I have to box it and return it to 40 miles away?
