HP Pavilion DV7 - 4183CL: upgrade of RAM 16 GB for HP Pavilion DV7 - 4183CL

Hi all

Am so confused with all the flying on tech stuff.

You will need to upgrade to a 16 GB RAM installation to get the best out of the game juice. Am running 6 GB (4 + 2) stock the installer which simply do not cut it. Please can you guide me what RAM should I buy?

I can't give a sense of the markings on my current RAM. It reads - 4 GB 2RX8 PC3 - 10600S - 9 - 10 - PS... WHT is to say all? The new 8GB Rams should I buy read exactly the same?

Would appreciate if you could help me. Thanks in advance!

Here is the Service Manual:

Manual

Your memory tops out at 8 GB, I am sorry to say. But wouldn't you do better game by installing 16 concerts, anyway. You can help video performance a little bit making sure that memory is in mode dual channel which means you need 2 identical modules. If you need to mix the 2 gig you have in there and get a module 4 GB like the one you already have.

See page 62 for instructions.

Memory 4 GB 599092-001

http://www.Amazon.com/HP-VH641AT-4-GB-DDR3-PC3-10600/DP/B0030L3B8E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&QID=1460915079&SR=8-1&keywords=599092-001

Games just need a sufficient amount of system memory and the upgrade to 8 concerts has a meaning. The real workhorse in the game is the video card and there is nothing you can do to upgrade you. You have the Radeon 5470 switchable video of AMD, which is well quite obsolete but in no case a terrible portable video system.

    Hello

    I have a HP 8470p (A1029D1102) with 179 KBC Version 42.38 Council. Windows 7 Pro 64-bit operating system.

In fact, I have a 4 GB of installed RAM module and I would switch to 16 GB (2x8Gb modules).

The type of memory suitable for this laptop is 204pin DDR3 (or DDR3L), PC-3, 1600 Mhz 12800.

I don't know if the modules that I will use as upgrade memory must be 'single' or "double" channel.

My question is - is the most effeicient and reliable type of RAM upgrade appropriate for this laptop?

In fact, surfing the web, I found a "kit" (2 modules 8 GB/ea "matched"...) of the A-Tech brand at a very reasonable price (US$ 69.00) but I don't know anything about this brand.

Finally, what are the correct settings to be teaken into account when buying a 16 GB of RAM upgrade in order to have any kind of problem during installation and use?

Quite well, thank you for any help.

The best way to upgrade and purchgase a memory that works as expected during installation is to buy only guaranteed compatible memory modules are a well known manufacturer of memory.

The provider and the memory stand-by manufacturer of their products and ensure they are compatible. They have their name of the game on the market.

    Crucial memory

    Corsair Memory

    KIngston memory

Using bandwidth specifications, the type and the ability to buy the memory can be hit or miss and disappointing

oYu will save a lot of time ensuring that the memory that you have selected as candidate for your laptop computer modules are guaranteed compatible. Let manufacturers carry out experimentation in their QA Labs instead of going through the hassle of doing it yourself.

    Thank you

Aries is shipped, is not extensible.

The SSD would require a complete disassembly of system upgrade and is not supported.

We offer versions of the P3 Aspire with 4 GB of RAM and a 120 GB SSD.

  • Pavilion dv7-6b76eo: upgrade of RAM HP Pavilion dv7-6b76eo

I created a thread really well here and received great help from @Paul_Tikkanen so if he or someone else could help me, that would be great. Don't know why I can't post a reply in this thread again. They either closed the thread or I'm blind. In any case, I have the HP Pavilion dv7-6b76eo and plan an upgrade of RAM. Currently I have samsung 2 x 4 Go PC3-10600 / DDR3-1333.

    1. I think go to ddr4, but what keeps me is some threads I have read saying ddr4 won't even in good physical shape in a ddr3 slot (which is my current) as well as this piece of info from Wikipedia:

DDR4 SO-DIMM have 260 pines (instead of 204 pin DDR3), which are evenly spaced more close (0.5, rather than 0.6 mm) and are 2.0 mm wider (69.6 against 67.6 mm), but still the same 30 mm in height.

    Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR4_SDRAM

    • 204-pin SO-DIMM (DDR3) have a single notch closest in the center than at 200-pin SO-DIMM.
    • 260-pin SO-DIMM (DDR4), 69.6 mm (2,74 in.) wide and 30 mm (1.2 inches) in height, making it wider than the DDR3 SO-DIMM, with one notch after pin 2 mm 144 (0,079 in.).

    Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SO-DIMM

This means that a chip of RAM SODIMM ddr4 wouldn't even in good physical shape in the slot of my laptop?

    2. well, okay... If I have to make my peace with her and stay with DDR3 can I at LEAST faster DDR3 install i.e. PC3-17000 / DDR3-2133 because my current a PC3-10600 / DDR3-1333 is sorta slow sometimes?

Thanks in advance and would really appreciate an answer to the question 1 and 2 above!

    @nematsvehclav

    I couldn't say with certainty.

But I have yet to see a 16 GB memory for a laptop card. "Yet."

    2. What are the reference number of this RAM?
    3. In which case reference numbers are not available on the local market, are there alternatives available?

    TIA

    The manual says:

Supports up to 8 GB of memory system

    Memory modules (DDR3 1066 MHz) ● 4 GB PC3 10600 1333 MHz shared 621569-001

You would be able to use any DDR3-1333 SO-DIMM (i.e. portable computer memory). It must be low density and which means 8 black blocks on the side of the chip as a module in the image.

See s. 51 of the manual here for 'how-to ':

    Manual

It's a older laptop maybe 4-5 years ago, you know? Also if you really 32-bit Windows 7 above you will not be able to add effective memory. It takes the 64-bit version to run 4 or more gigabytes of RAM. Care say that this model comes with 3 GB of RAM and 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium so do not know what you have now.

I'm currently upgrading my ram of the current 6gbs maximally whatever my computer supports. My motherboard says it supports up to 16gbs (since I am running Windows 7 64 - bit), and I'm trying to figure out what I should update.  I scanned my pc on Crucial and they gave me a bunch of suggestions, but I still don't know what I should buy.

  • Pavilion 15 ab292nr: alternatives for upgrade of RAM 8 GB 693374-005

I just bought the signature edition Microsoft bank book and want to upgrade the RAM. My model is Pavilion 15 ab292nr.

I checked the manual which is the same that the Pavilion 15 star war edition, it says that I need is 693374-005. However, it is a little difficult to find the exact part. I was wondering if there is no alternative that can be compatible with this laptop?

BTW, I found 693374-001 on Amazon, which is supposed to be compatible with the "selection" of HP laptops. Here is the link:http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Technology-PC3-12800-KTH-X3CL-8G/dp/B00D74FQ0U/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF...

    Can I use it?

    Thank you.

The Amazon, we'll be fine. It's Kingston, and since they sell compatible with HP Ref. you are protected against the incompatibility. Kingston will stand behind it. Just do not get the value of RAM Kingston. Many users have had problems with this memory in HP laptops.

  • Maximum RAM in a DV7 7205tx? I want to upgrade the RAM in my DV7-7205tx 8 GB to 16GB.

Hi, I would like to upgrade the RAM in my DV7-7205tx 8 GB to 16GB, but the specifications say that the maximum is 8 GB. I am intrigued by what the DV7-7304tx has been released with 16 GB installed and it has the same processor and the same chipset. Can you please explain why the manual tells me that I can't spend my 2x4gb chips to 2x8GB?

    Much appreciated,

    Greg

Although not conclusive, the following information suggests strongly that the dv7-7205tx is capable of 16 GB (2 X 8 GB) memory.

    Surfer is part of HP for the product number: C7E80PA - model name: HP ENVY DV7 - 7205TX NOTEBOOK PC lists;

    HP 670034-001 manufacturer / 8 GB 1600 Mhz PC3 - 12800 memory module (SHARED)

    Supported dual channel DDR3 - 1600 MHz
Supports up to 16384 MB of system RAM

    Supports the following RAM system

    16384 MB (8192 MB × 2; not supported

    not supported on computer models
    equipped with 32-bit operating system)

    4096 MB (4096 MB × 1 or 2048 MB × 2)

    2048 MB (2048 MB × 1)

    and

    (Page 28 - Chapter 3 - Illustrated parts catalog)

    (2, PC3 12800, 1600 MHz) memory modules:
    Number of component spare
Module of memory of 8 GB 670034-001
    Memory 4 GB 641369-001
    Memory 2 GB 652972-001

The OP needs to open the memory Bay and check whether 1 or 2 modules of memory are installed and that the part (s) was/is. If a single p/n 670034-001 is installed, the system should have no problem taking another module of 8 GB, the maximum of the motherboard is rated to 16 GB. If two p/n 641369-001 modules are installed, something is fishy, as it departs the HP part Surfer information.

  • Question: Upgrade of RAM for my HP Pavilion Media Center m7480n

First of all, I want to say hello to everyone on the HP Forum community and thank everyone for their help and support since his arrival at the Forum.

I have a HP Pavilion Desktop Media Center m7480n:

    Card upgrade memory:

    Hello

That your PC has two free memory slots, and you bought ram DDR2 533 MHz 2 GB (1 GB x 2) memory. Compatibility should not be a problem. You have the right type and the amount of RAM in your PC. Once installed, it will take the total of your system's RAM to 4 GB. However, the caveat is that 32-bit operating systems can use only 3.25 GB of the 4 GB installed. This is a limitation of the memory address. Most of the personal computer world continues to use the 32-bit Windows XP/Vista or 7 versions.

Upgrade from 2 GB to 4 GB would be beneficial for people who are heavy multitasking and running many background applications. In the field of heavy multitasking, the processor (CPU) begins plays a more important role, as an increase in the number of cores (e.g. upgrade of duals to four hearts) will prove beneficial, that simply increase RAM. I think that 2 GB of RAM should be sufficient for basic multitasking averages. Even most PC games benefit much from 2 GB to 4 GB.

However with the RAM being if pricey as it is these days, it never hurts the Pocket to upgrade. As you have already purchased the RAM, go and plug it by all means, you should see a marginal improvement in performance. You can check this document before you install the memory modules: upgrading memory (RAM)

    Hope this has been helpful.
