  OK, thanks for your quick response and your PC information.  After doing a little research, it looks like a firmware update could solve your problem. Below there is a link that will redirect you to the Web page. When you run this update please have the charger plugged. This process takes about 5 minutes to run so long, and it will restart your PC alone, so it's normal. When you open the link scroll the section beginning with dv6-2000, if you look on 2 columns, you click on SP48144 file download and only just run.

  I recently Bough of an hp pavilion dv7 7004sl. It has an integrated nvidia gforce GT 630 m video card, but it seems that I can't use it.

  Even if I try Nvidia web page looking for device he always says that I don't have any Nvidia product in my computer. I searched the web for hours now, and everything that I could find was some subjects saying I need a BIOS update that will add the switchable graphics option. Unfortunately for my dv7 7004sl there is no such update BIOS. If one had the same problem and it is resolved, otherwise, please help.

  You can check that you have switchable graphics capabilities by calling the Device Manager. If you see an Intel processor and an NVIDIA graphics card, then you just need to install the drivers and switchable graphics capabilities. A big difference between the Intel more switchable graphics, AMD and Intel + NVIDIA switchable graphics card is the order of driver installation. A laptop with the discreet NVIDIA module has a separate driver and it must be installed after the Intel graphics driver is installed.

  Install the Intel graphics driver softpaq first, then the NVIDIA graphics softpaq.

  Once you've done that, go into the control panel and find the NVIDIA Control Panel.

  

  Now, you will know that the GT 630 m is active.

  Windows 7 64 - bit OS I've been running smoothly for about five months until today.

  I have a hp pavilion dv6-3078tx an Australian model as im an aussie. Overheating, constantly while playing games may be a good 30-45 minutes on the games graphics of the art after that I have lower the graphics a bit. I have a hard drive 301 error which is a failure and apparently my laptop is going to die soon. I was wondering if the hard drive error is why my laptop is overheating. Ive also got a battery error internal 601 I think battery main error. These problems are my laptop overheating. IHAVE a cooling pad, but there is no help.
