HP Pavilion dv8113cl Notebook PC Software/Hardware Upgrade

Hello everyone. I have a HP Pavilion dv8113cl laptop. It has great sentimental value for me, it is easy for me to use. I have grown very fond and attached to this old beast but I realize it's time to upgrade. I need tips on how to level and with what type of material. It has a unique feature, as I understand it. It has a hard drive Bay double housing two drives Toshiba MK8032GAX (5400 RPM) of 80 GB that are always in IDE. I know that I have to go but what and how do I do. I am currently running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 - bit on it.

Thank you very much and have a great day.

Those who are very cool old cell phones. The problem is that there is not much room to upgrade. I think that they max to 2 GB of RAM. Windows 7 32 bit will be the best OS, but it will be limited by using no more than 2 GB of RAM. You can use only hard disks IDE and those who become very difficult to find and expensive. My best advice if you need to keep it is upgrading the main hard drive to an SSD (solid state drive). They are of the IDE/PATA SSD, but they are expensive and have limited capacity.

Here's a concert 128 SSD IDE/PATA:

$140 isn't too bad but keep in mind, probably more than the laptop is worth. However if you install it and put a fresh load of Windows 7 32 bit on it, you'll get a much faster computer.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the Forum from HP Support.

Officially, your model does NOT support Windows 10 and there are no drivers for Windows 10

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-TX2000-entertainment-notebook-PC-series/3650975/model/3658347

It's a bit old for Windows 10, it was factory well before Windows 10 came to settle. In fact, Windows 10 has been designed not even when this model was released.

I would recommend that you do not upgrade this model to Windows.

If you plan to stay on the 8.1 Windows, it will be supported until 2023.

If you plan to go back to Vista, it will rely on Microsoft until April 2017.

There is a tiny chance to install Windows 10 by performing a clean install using the ISO method:

    https://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/Windows10

    http://www.howtogeek.com/197559/how-to-install-Windows-10-on-your-PC/

After installation (if it fits) she can use a compatible driver for the video card and others. However, I do not recommend this and I would say that you stay with the current OS for this model.

  • Pavilion REF m6: B9A90EA #AKE: hardware upgrade

    I have a Pavilion m6 1060sq with AMD APU A8.

It is posible to upgrade with AMD A10 APU?

Or what part of the hardware can be upgraded, excluding RAM, HARD drive and optical drive?

At the present time all the Service manuals are down, so we cannot access specific information, but more often HP laptop computers with an A8 processor can be upgraded to the A10. Bear with us a day or two, and we can tell you exactly which processor. An upgrade of an APU A10 will also improve the graphics very slightly. Who will be the only possible upgrade to something other than the three you mention. The King of updates will be an SSD.

  • HP Pavilion dm1 Notebook PC: no application upgrade for windows 10

I don't have the application of upgrade of windows 10. I also had problems with upgrading to windows 7, although it seems to have fixed itself.

MS showed no perceptible tendency on the plan which received the upgrade of Win10 application.  If you want to upgrade now, then use the tool of creation of media since the link and choose the option to upgrade the PC: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

But until you do that, you should seriously consider making an image backup of your PC - because the GoBack function is known to be unreliable.  Suggest using Macrium Reflect:

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup on an external drive
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full functional system of externally by car in a few minutes only.

  • HP Pavilion dv 6000: hardware upgrade for hp pavilion dv 6000

I have an old hp pavilion dv 6000, I recently upgraded to windows 7 and everything works well, but I would like to make the hardware upgrades as well.

I want to move to maximum capacity, specifically: processor, graphics card, hard drive, and wireless network card.

If someone can provide me with a list of known compatible with my system hardware would be great, I'll also be open to any suggestion of additional hardware upgrade if someone propose

    Hello

Two things, you will not be able to upgrade: display the card and wireless network card.

    (a) graphics card: we cannot spend more than 90% of laptops, including yours,

    (b) wireless network adapter: your machine was built before the mid-2014, the whitelist prevents you to upgrade the wireless card.

Now, you have 2 items to upgrade (maybe 3): hard drive and the processor (CPU) (and maybe RAM)

    (a) HARD drive: any 2.5 "HDD or even SSDS with 9.5 mm or less. SSD is more expensive but faster. HHD, please select the one that has RPM faster (7200 RPM), large cache (more is better). They are numerous on the following list including SSD:

    http://www.centrecom.com.au/notebook-hard-drives

    (b) for the processor, please use following 5-69 of the manual page to buy the right part of HP. Please do not ask me why to buy at HP.

HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC, product number: LZ802PA

    Operating system installed:

    Windows 7 Home Basic, 64-bit

    Error message:

    "Radio equipment extinguished."

All changes to your system until the problem occurred:

I was looking for a solution anywhere, including the hp Web site and forum and manual PDFs.

I have a problem to connect to internet wireless (I can connect using a cable). The wireless button is on (seeing the key F12 is blue), but "Intel My WIFI utility" tells me that the "hardware radio switch off." I was looking for the switch on the case and sought a shortcut to do this - but could not find.

As a result - my laptop cannot recognize any wireless connection, even if they exist for sure!

I also used Microsoft System Restore to restore to an earlier date - before the problem accrued. There was no difference.

Also, I reinstalled the drivers wireless Intel, Intel PROSet and my WIFI for Microsoft Windows 7. It does not help either.

    Help, please!

    I managed to fix it!

I had to get into the BIOS and enable the network card in there!

  • HP Pavilion dv6 notebook intermittent failure of keyboard

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 notebook, 1 year old.  Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, 8 GB of Ram.  I have an external wired keyboard (Logitech K120) and a separate wireless mouse.  Frequently in the past few weeks, I noticed that the keyboard will fail once the laptop worked for a while, usually when the laptop is in "sleep".  I hear by fails, * TWO * external and the internal keyboard.  Nor will respond to any strikes at all.  Mouse control is fine, even when the keyboard has failed.

If I rebooted the system, it works well again.

I think that when I saw this before, I tried to disconnect the external keyboard, but that doesn't matter, because the integrated keyboard does not work or the other.

I guess this could result from certain automatic Windows driver installation or upgrade?  Does anyone have advice for the diagnosis or verification of current drivers?

I have just closed the lid of the laptop, to force the machine mode 'sleep'.  When I opened the lid, the system has taken over, I can log in via the scanner digital, the mouse works but the keyboard has disappeared.  I had to reboot the system, update this message.

    fmaurais,

    Try the following steps:

Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Power Options-> change Plan (of the current plan selected) settings-> change the advanced power settings-> parameter of selective suspension of USB-> Disable (both)

Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Power Options-> change Plan (of the current plan selected) settings-> change the advanced power settings-> PCI-Express-> Link State Power Management-> Disable (both)

I read on a Microsoft page that is who can solve some problems "out of sleep."

    computerwhiz90,

I'll see if I can get a model of your laptop to see if I can reproduce the problem.

  • HP Pavilion 13-P100SS X 2: HP Pavilion 13-P100SS X 2 hardware update

Hello! I just have a small question on the HP Pavilion 13-P100SS X 2. The thing is I'm starting to use it to make music, and the DAW (music production software) needs a lot of resources, I'm afraid more than the product. So my question is: this compatible with some hardware first product updates? In particular, I want to add more RAM, at least an additional 4 GB (to make a total of 8 GB). I would also like to put a processor more, perhaps an i5 or i7, or is it only compatible with AMD processors? And a SSD?

In which case it is compatible with the hardware upgrades, please tell us on which specific components would work for this laptop.

    Thanks in advance!

An Intel processor is a non-starter. I couldn't find a service manual for the AMD models, but on models from Intel, memory is soldered to the motherboard that are the processors so I guess that it is the same for AMD versions. It is possible to remove and replace the hard drive with an SSD, but it is a very delicate piece of surgery.

You try to send a boy to do work a man here and you really need a more powerful platform. You will not be able to improve this machine to be competent with serious music production software.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC: restore the system and drivers

Hello. A few days ago I faced a bad experience with my laptop HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC. System crashed. At any time, I tried to turn it on, an error message appears and the system was blocked. The message was: FILE: \BOOT\BCD status 0xc000000f, asking for the disc of Windows 7 system running. But the system disk did not run at all. I checked the situation and found the hard drive with 6 partitions instead of 2. I found a named partition BOOT (X which was a replica of C:.)  When I tried to restore the system with the recovery disc, something has obtained control of the recovery disc, so that C: might not be formatted; nor was X:. Also, I tried to cancel the file in X: but disc was protected and does not allow changes. If only I could get my uninstalled hard drive and all partitions have been cleaned. I got my hard drive cleaned perfectly, but my recovery disk can be installed correctly. So, the system has not yet restored. My question is: what should I do to get my laptop with the system restore? any ideas?

    Hello

If you do not, use another PC to create a rescue CD Windows 7.  Download the ISO relevant among the links below.

    Windows 7 32 bit

    Windows 7 64 bit

You must use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  One time created, or if you already have this, typing away at the esc key when you launch Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Insert the rescue CD.  Select boot options (usually f9), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER.  You can also get a prompt to "Press any key to" continuous - it if requested.

When loading, select repair your computer and choose the command prompt.  When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

    Bootrec.exe
