  • HP Pavilion DV7 turns off suddenly when running

I sincerely hope that you can help me or point me please in the direction from where can I get support for this problem.

I bought a HP Pavilion DV7 - 3180us Entertainment Notebook to the United States in 2010.  I now live in England.

My problem is that my laptop keeps turning off randomly without warning.

Is my product number: WA718UA #ABA, my OS is Windows 7 64 bit.

I ran each test component (HP System Diagnostics), all items sent with the exception of the hard.

My test log shows the following error codes:

    PLQ36M-53L6M6-XD002J-Q2BX03

    PLQ36M-53L6M6-XD002J-61BK03

    PLQ36M-53L6M6-XD002J-61TT03

    PLQ36M-53L6M6-XD002J-61TT03

    PLQ36M-53L6M6-XD002J-60 CT 03

    My BIOS:

    F.1D, 10/05/2010

I bought and tried a new battery, but this does not resolve the issue.

(Any time), I use a Cooler Master NotePal U3 Laptop Cooler with fans positioned where my laptop gets hotter (down the laptop, when the laptop is in its normal in good position, the hot zone going from the upper left corner (about where is the power button), to down to about the caps lock key; the width of the side left on the F3 key). (This also does not resolve the issue.)

I'm looking forward to your reply.

Finally got support from HP (for some reason, my phone and my other half phone just kept to end the call when I tried to call, even if we had enough credit, could finally operate using Skype as Skype allows free 1-800 numbers even if you use Skype from the United Kingdom).

In case it helps someone else out there he said:

Only the fact that I have recently updated my BIOS would help with overheating problems. Any overheating problems that I knew could not be due to (for example) the motherboard or graphics card, etc. That it may be wise to have my radiator and fan replaced.

Mainly: (no surprises) should I have my hard drive replaced ($155 - $200).

For a person living in the United States the total costs (disk hard, heat sink and fan) would be $ 200 to $ 300 (cost of labor and shipping included).

    Hello

A problem that has been doing worse and worse for me was that my PC turns off completely after a short period of time, now about 1 hour. I used to have the same problem, however, it turns off after 4-5 hours, and after that it is completely stopped for a few hours, he'll be back to normal. I read that dust accumulation can be a problem, although I see no dust in the vents. Do you advise me to open the computer and dust off the fan itself inside the computer with compressed air? Or are there other possibilities of dust collection problems will not fix?

  • Satellite M60 off - set overheating scrapped

    Hi all

I had some problems with my laptop recently. The problem is that it turns off suddenly. Firstly I thought a problem of overheating, but the laptop is quite warm, the radiator is clean and the fan works well.

When he died, I have two options:

    (1) unplug the power adapter, wait 5-10 minutes, plug it in again and turn it on.
    (2) disconnect the power adapter and turn it on (without wait some minutes and reconnect)

I did some testing and I noticed that the laptop has never shut down when it was running with battery (ac unplugged), only when I worked with the ca is plugged. So I think I have a problem with my power, but first of all, I prefer to read your expert thoughts on this problem.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Could arise that the AC doesn't provide enough power, but I think that this s some malfunction of the motherboard, so it would surely be preferable to send your machine to an ASP or visit at least a technician.
But if you´re that the AC is defective then replace it and check if it works.

I would be really grateful if you could give a short answer if it worked or other...

    Greetings

  • Pavilion laptop left off wireless

    Hello

My Pavilion dv - 4 1430us Entertainment notebook has a small Tower illuminated at the top right of the keyboard which is blue to 'ON' (wireless communication) or orange/red to 'OFF '.  Lately, I can't turn on.

The operating system was originally Windows 7 Home premium until he got so tied in knots that auto repairs of Microsoft or my favorite local store tools could help.  I wiped the hard drive and installed Ubuntu 12.10.  It connected and worked fine for a while.  This is why I reject the idea that wireless circuits are not compatible with free software (which is where the Ubuntu forums brought me).

Another complication is that our ISP recently swapped our router/access point.  It was a 2WIRE and I don't have this problem then.  It's now an Actiontec C2000A for DSL.  This change coincides approximately with the stuck laptop.  I forgot to check that the laptop connected until the technician leaves (not that it could or would have done anything anyway). I do not understand how the two may be related, but the coincidence is suspicious.

This laptop uses a Realtek RTL8101E/8102E PCI Express fast ethernet controller (built-in rev02.  Ubuntu people keep telling me that I need a "compatible" card)

There is no error message.  Ubuntu simply reports that the device is in offline mode.

    I tried the things:

    Consulted Ubuntu forums (see above).

Consulted my ISP.  They referred me to Ubuntu.

    HP e-mail. No response.

Hard reset (turn off, unplug and remove the battery, press and hold the switch for 30 seconds, plug back without replacing battery and turn it on again)

Ubuntu terminal command: rfkill unblock all

    @Eddie_4,.

Was a driver Ubuntu installed installation of the poles or is he still using a native driver?  I recommend you to install a new driver for Ubuntu as inOS drivers can be a bit outdated.  In Windows, it is the wifi driver, combined with the BIOS, allowing the card be turned on and off.  I suspect that it will be the same for Ubuntu (at least it was on a previous version of Ubuntu, I used).

  • HP Pavilion dv6 default off touchpad?

Often when you type on the HP Pavilion dv6 cursor spontaneously jumps to a different location, it's because my hands did with the touchpad.  Tapping the upper-left corner of the touchpad twice disable it. What is good; However, I do whenever I get on the notebook.  Is there a way to set the touchpad to be 'off' by default on startup, so I don't have to take steps to disable all sessions?  I want to be able to activate the touchpad at will by masking tape in the upper left corner.

    Thank you

    Jeff

    Here is the solution:

    Select:

    "Control Panel".

    'Hardware and sound '.

    "Under"Devices and printers"select"Mouse"
The 'Mouse properties' dialog box is displayed.

    SELECT: "TouchPad settings" tab

Check: "turn off the internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached.

    Yes, that's all!

Thanks Mumbodog to direct me in the right direction.

  • Screen of HP Pavilion 15 turn off for a few seconds when I turn on or off charger

    Hello

I bought new 15 hp Pavilion. I noticed several times when I turn on or turn off my charger, screen off for a few seconds and then after a few second screen turned on. Please help me its furstating me.

    > It is customary, and in this case necessary to provide you with the exact model of Notebook, you have a problem - with. [There are MANY variants of models of HP Pavilion 15 - T, for example.]

    > You should always be sure you have installed/applied all updates for all the hardware devices on your laptop, and all THE updates of Windows marked '' Important '' and all updated Windows "optional"-section for any hardware device in your laptop including service updates Windows detects (and offers an update). "."

    > For example, this link: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4158&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=678785 has the latest HP drivers and patches for a specific variant of the Pavilion 15-T.

    > AFTER you are certain that you have all the latest drivers and patches on the spot, you can try the 'old trick' as follows: stop Windows; When your laptop is turned off completely (after complete closure), THEN remove the connector of the AC adapter / CC and remove the battery.

    > Hold DOWN the button of power without interruption for a full 60 seconds. Then replace your battery in your laptop. Do not connect your power adapter. Turn on the computer laptop and logon in Windows. Check the settings of control Panel\Power Options and know the level of your battery Charge. If it is less than 25%, then (and only then) plug in your adapter and connect it to your laptop... and leave the charge the battery up to "completely" to the level of 98 to 100%. * Note: If your card has a removable cord AC connector, make sure that the connection is "tight". If you still think that your adapter is defective, GET a NEW one! Damage a laptop for $400 - $800 is NOT worth it, compared to the cost of a new adapter.

    > Use the built-in help of your laptop on how to DISABLE (!) "Hibernation" and eliminate this CAUSING trouble 'feature' in Windows PC. When you did, always restart Windows, to be sure, the changes are applied. Many changes and take 'Entirely' product updates only "for" stop or "during" startup of Windows PCs. [while Windows O.S. 'turns', most of its system files is LOCKED].

    > FYI: let always your battery run down to him below highlights you plug in your sector/charger adapter. Charge a rechargeable battery 'medio-load-levels' causes shorter battery life...

  • Pavilion g6 turned off and will not turn back on

My g6 kept turning off unexpectedly, and now it will not even turn around.  Help, please.

The fire being orange means that the computer is "charge" of the battery.  If it is always orange and never goes back to white then there is something wrong with the battery because it is not that it is fully charged and the continuous computer to keep it loads or not related that she stopped.  This could be a battery problem or a problem with the computer loading mechanism.  It's probably more with the battery what either.  If you can get the computer to boot with the battery and you can get the HP utility Center to open, you can have it run a test on the battery and give you information about your battery.

  • Pavilion 15: Power off

I have to use the shift with off switch key (on windows 8) to power the laptop off, if I use only only its turning off the display only, but is always cut power off button.

    Hello

Try disabling the hybrid Windows 8 start - you can do the following.

Right-click the battery icon, and select Power Options.  In the next window, click on "Choose what the power button" in the left pane.

In the next window, click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable" (close), then Remove the check mark from the box against 'Turn on a quick start (recommended) '.  Click on the button Save the settings, and then close all open windows and check if the laptop will now be shut down properly.

If this has fixed the problem, it may be useful by turning the quick start back on - sometimes simply remove and re-create the file will solve the problem.
