HP Pavilion g6-2231tx: capslock key flashing

CapsLock key is continuously blinking but the pc works fine... Please help...

Hi @vikalp007,

A hard reset forces the system to erase and restore the software connections between the BIOS and hardware.

When you perform a hard reset note remove all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices.

Please let me know how it goes.

  • HP Pavilion x 360 has the white screen and LOCK SHIFT key flashes

I recently got a new laptop from 13-inch HP Pavilion x 360 a week ago. It worked well and I loved. six days after that I started to use it the screen goes black while I watch a youtube video and the mahcine started his strange. I use the power button to turn off the laptop, and then restart it. Laptop works very well and I continue to use it on another fifteen minutes until I close and start loading. 40 minutes later, I opened the laptop to find that the screen does not light and the CAPS Lock key blinks once in a repeating sequence. I didn't do anything the screen lights up. After some research, I think it's a potential CPU issue. What are the reasons as to why it happened to my brand new laptop?

    Hi @a8nsli,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion x 2 n001ns Notebook and questions after a repair. I recommend to restore the default BIOS settings. You could restore the BIOS withthis document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings.

Here is a link to explanations of flashing codes. It's under the heading - use the LEDs near the keys NumLock and caps lock shift to blink.

Have you changed the LCD converter cable?

  • HP Pavilion tx2500 - Maj CapsLock and numlock lights blink simultaneously once

I turn on my HP Pavilion tx2500 and I hear the rotation of the fan, but nothing else happens.  Lights beside the caps lock and especially the blink of keys NumLock (a unique expandable flashing).  According to HP technical support documents that I found online, the expandable single flashing indicates a CPU problem.  My laptop is out of warranty and $400 for send it to HP to fixed it is practically the same price I paid for the laptop 2 years ago.

Flashing lights mean that the CPU is fried?  And I can do to repair the laptop?

    Thank you

    -Jeff

I think I'm looking in the same document that you have seen, I see not where it says 1 blink is for the CPU.

Just to rule out before you look at service options I reinsert the hard drive and memory and try again.

Is there still the same way then you might be looking at a repair.

If you feel upwards to try it yourself, then you will need the link for the purchase of parts

  • HP Pavilion 23: Desktop Windows 10 flashing after long installation

I have a computer all-in-one HP Pavilion 23, SKU B5A53AV #ABA. I was using Windows 7. I downloaded the upgrade of Windows 10. The problem seems to be similar to the following question:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-operating-systems-software-recovery/after-long-install-problem-...

I can add that the only function I do is CTRL + ALT + DELETE to pull up the Task Manager, or turn off the computer. Task Manager shows the CPU repeatedly hitting 100% usage before that office finishes loading.

    Update:

After leaving my computer on and unattended for 1 1/2 hours, I came back to find the black screen with the exception of the taskbar at the bottom. The start menu and the desktop still do not work, but I can access the internet using the Google Chrome button on the taskbar.

I found a post from another user who now recommend the SHIFT key while clicking on restart. YEA! I have a desktop computer that allows me to click it and don't flash on and outside! Now to see how to use Windows 10...

  • 17 f151nm Pavilion: Pavilion 17 f151nm Fn keys driver

    Hello

I bought a Pavilion 17, had 8.1 Windows 64-bit installed on it, but I can't seem to get the fn keys to work, or find the drivers to this page. Any ideas on how to get them to work?

    Thanks in advance

    Ellen

    Hello:

What is the software that is supposed to work the Fn keys...

This package contains the HP System Event Utility, which allows the special function keys on the laptop to program models. For example, HP System Event Utility allows users to press the Fn + ESC keys to view system information. This software works with supported operating systems.

    File name: sp71156.exe

  • ThinkPad Yoga - Backspace, Windows, shift, T, Y, tab, [---], Capslock key doesn't work do not

I had my TPY for a little more than a year without any problems, but today, I lost the ability to use the following keys:

BACKSPACE, Windows, offset to the left, T, Y, tab, Capslock, [---]

In addition to the function keys. Using the on-screen keyboard or external keyboard usb works fine. I'm unable to use the tab to the BIOS screen key, so it seems to be a hardware problem. This seems to be a common problem for these keys especially for the various models from Lenovo and even some Dells. I tried to reinstall the drivers for the keyboard as suggested in other posts, and I tried to replace the keyboard connection according to this video:

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=PxHKvpI8Wvc

I bought this unit from the MS store with only a 1 year warranty (which is now in place), so I don't know what to do. I can try to replace the keyboard, but it seems that others have had only limited with replacement success. Everyone has dealt with this problem?

Update for everyone running into the same problem:

I ordered a replacement off of eBay keyboard and manuals for replacement of material allowing to disassemble my TPY and switch the keyboard online. Everything works again as usual!

  • Pavilion 500 - c60: product key

If I chose to load Windows 7 Home OS on the 8.1 that sits on the newly purchased Pavilion 500 - c60 will be I had problems? AND if I choose to RELOAD 8.1 on the computer in the future how do I get the product key if as you say his anchored in the bios?

Thanks for your replies. My reason for decommissioning is a requirement with my Autocad Architecture 2012 which does not work on windows 8.1. Stupid me! I should have looked into this before buying the computer. But I like the computer because it is a 64 bit with 8 GB of memory and I love the W8.1 too. Very compatible with my ph sound cell phone android. So until I can afford to upgrade my Autocad I'm stuck with Win7.

  • U430 power and key flashes after removing the hard drive

    Hello world

I just bought a U430 touch and try to put in an (Sandisk Ultra Plus 256 GB) SSD.

I followed the instructions on how to open the lid and remove the hard drive as described in the maintenance manual. I created a USB startup disk and changed the order of boot from USB. But when I try to press the Novo key to then proceed with the installation of Windows, the power light and keyboard just begins to Flash slowly. I tried it turn instead to use the Novo key and the same thing happens.

I tried to do it with and without the key USB is plugged. I also then put the old hard drive and put the top back on and he always does. I thought maybe that just means that it is in mode 'sleep' but by pressing the power or by pressing the keys does not help.

    Can someone help me please?

    Thank you.

Pretty beast feeling right now. The memory seemed to bottom, but it wasn't.
