HP PAVILION HPE h8-1192d: could not start after installing new graphics card

I recently bought a Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti Black Edition to replace my old. But it will not start after installing on my h8-1192d, and stuck on the screen flash hp. Help, please!

Hello

NVIDIA GTX 7xx or 9xx series graphics cards will not work in your PC.  The BIOS in "chicago" mothererboard is not compatible with the video BIOS in the graphics card.  You will need to get an older card chart such as the one of the below listed OEM HP graphics cards. Depending on the graphics card, you may need to replace the power suplly.

  • Pavilion p6 - 2120t: Windows will not start with the new graphics card

Installed a Zotac GT 740 profile down in my desktop PC graphics card HP Pavilion p6 - 2120t and now the PC does not start.

HP Pavilion p6 - 2120t CTO desktop PC

    Configuration:
    Intel Pentium CPU [email protected]
    4.0 GB RAM
Intel HD Graphics Driver version Family: 8.15.10.2291 dated 27/01/2011
Motherboard: IPISB-CU (Carmel2) (1 open PCI Express 16 expansion slot pins)

    BIOS to Version 7.18

    Running:
    Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit w/service pack 1
Two monitors (VGA, 1 digital port 1)

Before installing the new graphics card, I replaced the power supply original 300w with a 400w power supply.

For starters, I disabled the onboard graphics in Device Manager. Then, I opened the case and installed the GT-740 in the open PCI Express slot. I made sure that the card was fully engaged in the slot.

I plugged both monitors to their connections voted on the new map.

When I tried to boot the PC, the digital monitor displays the screen HP (the one that indicates which key support to achieve the start menu) and then frozen. No other entries of key or mouse have been accepted.

The PC then sounds 4 short beeps (about 10 seconds between each beep) and then a long beep before turning off the signal to the screen.

Then, I removed the new graphics card on the PC that starts then. I have reactivated the original graphics drivers and the PC then worked normally.

Tried the above process two more times with the same results.

I then went into the start menu to look at the BIOS. The menu of the BIOS shows two options:

    > Sources of boot UEFI

    Windows Boot Manager

    > Sources of boot legacy

    ATAP I CD/DVD player

    SATA2

    Hard drive

    SATA0

Network controller (Realtek PXE B06 D00)

PC using UEFI Boot Manager Windows boots normally

I have not tried Legacy Boot Sources because I don't know which one to choose.

I went to the HP site and looked for an update to the newest BIOS, but updating them is a rev version 7.16 while my PC shows my BIOS to version 7.18

I know that others have had a similar problem but I have not seen a solution that works for my PC.

    Any advice would be welcome.
    Thanks for your time.

    Hello

Your PC isn't spec'd to run Windows 7 using the Windows Boot Manager.  I expect to a UEFI-based graphics card likely to work on an HP PC that does not have a BIOS version 8.

The below listed OEM HP, graphics cards should work in your PC using a normal non - UEFI W7 and W8 installation.

  • Does not start after installing new video card

Hello, I have a desktop H8-1284, and the video card went a few days ago. So I bought a video card Geforce GTX 650, and after installing the card and the computer starts, it hangs just at the start of the HP logo screen. So I put an old geforce 8800, and she starts without a problem. When I try the new card Geforce GTX 650, the same thing, just hangs at the splash screen.  I checked the bios and it doent seem to be something there that can help wouild. My diet is 460 w, and the new map needs of 400 w, any help will be greatly appreciated

    Hello

Most of the cards PCI-E 3.0 are retro-compatible with the PCI-E 2.0 slots.  However, in order to get the PCI-E version 3, you must use a processor Ivy Bridge.  Look at these specificationsfor a typical NVIDIA GTX 650.

  • Does not start with the new graphics card

Hello. I have a P7-1058uk Pavilion Cleveland-GL8 motherboard with integrated graphics.

I bought a new monitor that has resolution 2560 x 1440, equal the integrated graphics card can face if tried to to level with a Gigabyte GT630 card.

When I start, I have now the chance to the blue HP screen but not more details. If I start with F10 or ESC key, I get a black screen instead. Whatever it is, I am asked to press ESC to enter in the start, but by pressing on the button has no effect and the computer just hangs. There is a cycle repeated very quiet click that sounds like the disk drive HARD trying to start then stop

If I remove the graphics card and connect the monitor to the integrated graphics card then all's well again (but limited to the resolution 1920 x 1080).

Perhaps foolishly, I assumed it was a problem with the residual power (300W) and not enough punch power to run the HARD drive. But who, after having upgraded to 650W it makes no difference. I also tried to download the NVidia drivers but it won't let me install because I can't get the computer to work without the graphics card and Nvidia install it because it cannot detect the hardware.

    Any ideas/help would be appreciated.

    Andrew

You can have one of these motherboards that are not happy with NVIDIA graphics cards.

This may sound a little weird, but it happens.

The other possibility is that you have damaged your home x - 16 PCI Express by installing a map requiring more that the installed power supply has been able to provide.

    Kind regards

  • Computer does not start after installing a new graphics card

I am owner of a HP Pavilion H8-1020 with a processor intel i7 - 2600 s Windows 7 and am trying to upgrade my Radeon hd 6570 to a Gigabyte AMD Radeon R9 280 OC. I improved my diet for a Corsair CX750 to meet the requirements of power and installed with number. After the installation of the new card, which as far as I can tell is well seated in the pci slot and correctly connected to the PSU, my computer does not start.

System powers on, all fans of begin to run including the fans on the new graphics card, but it does not begin the boot process, no entry is received at my monitors, no light on the keyboard, my OS starts loading, I can turn off the system without the delay that will flow normally. Then I reinstalled my old graphics card and the computer started as usual.

Now, assuming that the card is not DOA, which unfourtunatly I have no way to verify, and I'd like to see if it could be another problem before going through the process of restitution. I did some reading on the internet, which helped, but did not help for a technological neophyte like me.  Now, I know a few things that could cause this problem but lack the necessary skills to determine what question is making me. What I've read, these could be possible questions:

1: my new graphics card is not compatible with my motherboard. It's something I know now that I should have checked before buying and something I should theoretically be able to do it now, but I am at a loss on how to do it. My card is compatible with my motherboard?

2 could be a BIOS problem. I updated my bios driver with the version provided by the HP site. I am running FRIEND 7.16 05/10/2011.  And from what I've read it might have something to do with my bios to UEFI mode and I would need to go to a legacy mode so he can recognize a new device, is it true? I am extremely wary of messing with my BIOS settings for fear of bricking my system. How can I check my current BIOS settings are and what I should change and how would approach I change them? Will one of these changes affect my system if they are not what is not causing the problem?

In addition to these issues, anyone know any other matter which may be the cause of the problem that I should look for? Thanks for any help.

    Hello @Eric_Z,

I can see why you are having problems with your new graphics card, and to get to the fast response that your motherboard is not compatible with the new graphics card that you have purchased. And here's why.

Your motherboard according to the page HP Pavilion HPE h8-1020 Desktop PC product specifications is the Carmel motherboard, which has the following expansion slots:

    • A PCI Express x 16
    • Three PCI Express x 1 connectors
    • A PCI Express Mini Card x 1

As there is no version indicated for your PCI Express x 16 it slot means that it is version 1.

Now, your previous graphics card was a PCI Express 2.1 x 16, which means that it was version 2 and compatible with your PCI Express x 16 slot on your motherboard. However, the new card is PCI Express 3.0 and will not work in your motherboard due to a compatibility break. While the technology is supposed to be compatible there are many cases where it is not, and I'm afraid that you meet one of these cases.

I am offering an overclock.net article entitled: the final answer to the controversial compatibility of PCIe x 16 version. where your situation has been tested and examined.

I hope this helps. Have a great day and thank you for display on the HP Forums!

  • Device could not start - Code 10 - Intel Wireless Card on NB550D

    Hello world

    It's just a normal Toshiba NB550D netbook

The only thing I change is the card inside Wireless: the original is an Atheros common half mini card. Recently, I have the urge to use internet in 5 ghz (frequency).

So, I decided to replace the old with the * half mini card Intel Wifi Link 5100 AGN *.
It turns so well. The pilot is not recognized or specifically the windows tries to install the driver but FAIL is reported. Device manager tool shows a "!" next to the network adapter and when I go the properties on the general tab: "* the device could not start - Code 10."

I tried many ways to uninstall the driver and reinstall it again; also tried to download the drivers from the website of toshiba for the network card intel.

Nothing works so far and yes I don't know what to do now.

The possibility that the card intel is broken or defective is eliminated because I checked with another laptop already and just, it worked like a charm.

Please help me solve this problem. I really need to use two strips (2.4 and 5 ghz) internet.
    Appreciate any help!

    > The possibility that the card intel is broken or defective is eliminated because I checked with another laptop already and just, it worked like a charm

    Regarding the error code 10:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/943104/en-us

+ The Code 10 error applies mainly to the problems of hardware driver and devices or compatibility problems between the drivers of equipment and additional software that is installed in Windows. +

I put t think deliver its wireless network card might be a compatibility problem between the BIOS and the wireless network adapter.
All devices are supported by the BIOS.

But the WLan card already appears in Device Manager and so I think that there should not be a BIOS compatibility issue.

Have you checked if the chipset would properly address the Wlan card?

    Hi all

I have a very serious problem.

A few lost technology from Microsoft asked that I have to do the following:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135.

Immediately after the restart, I was confronted with the following message:

    Windows could not start.

Startup Repair does not work. -Root cause found: the partition table has not a Sys component validates.

Bootcfg does not work - could not open the TRUNK. INI file.

Bcdedit does not work - the requested system device cannot be found.

GParted does not work - cannot load the ntfs module: invalid argument.

How can it be fixed, please?

It is an extremely urgent situation which must be resolved immediately, because I use this computer for work and need to return to work on a large commercial project Monday. I'm not familiar with current PC for sale, regarding upgrades.  Since is considered a new HP, try looking at the list of options on the HP website.  Most higher end PC have the options that you choose before buy you, to customize the generation.  Choose a model with options that match your criteria now and notice the upgrade options - write down them - to avoid confusion later.  OR go with a customized version, but this could mean significant spending.  It is the hand off the coast between prebuilts and personalized.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-3150us Entertainment Notebook not start after sitting on the side.

Hello! I have a HP Pavilion dv6-3150us Entertainment Notebook that works under Windows 7. Last week, I traveled with him in Florida, and when I arrived and tried to turn on the laptop, it wouldn't start. The screen was white with thin lines going through it and the screen turned slowly black. I disassembled the computer and put it back together (which I have experience with, I installed a new fan at the beginning of last year) and he came in safe mode. This ihappened still once I put the laptop in my bag on back and then he pulled out a few minutes later (without even moving) and when I got home. I tested the hard drive and memory, and they both passed. Other that this question, the computer has worked fine. I need to get this problem solved, because I am a PhD student and travel frequently with your laptop. Could someone help me please? What causes this problem? Thank you.
